all I can say is we will be back. was passing through looking for a quick bite. the place was amazing. food is 5 Star! had the Crawfish bread.

Wow! We tried the crawfish bread with the catfish, the seafood quesadilla, and the crawfish roll. Just run over here and dive in. The food was perfectly seasoned and the portions were out of this world. Do yourself a favor and come get you some! The staff are wonderful and very welcoming. Definitely in my top 5 local restaurants

I kept hearing great reviews on this place so we finally went and they did not disappoint. The food was amazing. We ordered a few things to try and every single one of them were so good. It wasn’t the fastest service but food that great deserves to be made with love. Would recommend a thousand times. It was really delicious

I am all the way from Saginaw Michigan loving this food. I got crawfish rolls and Alfredo with shrimp and chicken. Out if everything I tried out they are hands down the best!

I'm not a connoisseur of food. However, I am very, very selective and picky with what I eat. I must say I was kind of iffy about going to this restaurant. I hadn't heard of it before and I wasn't very sure about it. However, what I was interested in was a southern meal that kind of stood out from your regular meal that someone may cook at home. So, when I ran across from a random search of restaurants the Johnson's Kitchen restaurant my son and I hopped in the car and decided to give it a try. The inside of the restaurant was warm clean actually surprisingly well/comfortably designed with a homey feel. Now, I must say like me my son I am very picky. He's 12. When he first bit in his food he exclaimed. And to me that's to say a lot. I was immediately comfortable with the idea of eating the food because I knew from that the food was probably pretty good. And everything I bit into was absolutely delicious. The portions were definitely great.The one thing I love about a great meal is not only does it look very good, it actually tastes just as good as good as it looks! Needless to say, we've ( my son and I) already talked about how satisfied 😌 we were with our meals expressing how much we needed to go back! Anyway for you people looking for a good restaurant to go to I thought I'd let you know. Good luck and happy eating!

We were recommended to go to Johnson’s Kitchen & it did not disappoint us. We had the seafood shrimp 🍤 & 🐟 box I had sweet potato fries & my husband had coleslaw…Baby everything was delicious 😋 & perfectly seasoned, I recommend everyone to stop 🛑 by & let your taste 👅 buds be delighted 😁

Had lunch at this little place in Punkin Center. The burger was awesome and cooked perfectly (grilled sourdough bun and gourmet pickles 😋) Sabrina had the special, crawfish etoufe with fried fish. The right amount of spicy and the fish was crispy like I like it with cornmeal.... 😋😋😋

EVERYTHING I’ve had from this restaurant has been delicious!!! The fried fish, Dj fries, crawfish bread..EVERYTHING! And the service is always fast and friendly. Definitely a local favorite!

We had a party of 12 and they made room for all of us . The food was excellent . We went on a friday and the special was the seafood baked potato. The best I've ever had. We had the seafood dip and the crawfish bread was so yummy. The kindom burger was big my teen had to take half home . We Will definitely be back because now I need to try everything on the menu .

10/10 on flavor on these honey garlic wings. & that homemade ranch baybeeee 😮‍💨 While the flavor is amazing the staff are kind. Them prices are definitely too high. I made sure to come on a we’d got their 20% off. 17.87 for 6 wings with fries. Regardless of, I will be coming back.

The place was very clean and cozy its a great atmosphere and the gospel music playing in the background is what really set it off the staff was awesome and the lemonade was definitely freshly squeeze definitely returning back and highly recommend

Johnson’s Kitchen is my new go to!! I tried them for the first time yesterday and everything was fantastic… the staff was the sweetest, the atmosphere was cozy and the food was amazing! The crawfish bread was cheesy, full of crawfish on soft/crunchy bread. The shrimp sandwich on sourdough bread was THE best I’ve ever had. I wished I hadn’t offered to share half of my meal! Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.❤️ Pic is of half of my meal.

I can't praise Johnson's Kitchen enough! This place is a gem. The food is consistently fresh and incredibly satisfying. The owners are delightful, always greeting you with a warm smile that makes you feel right at home. And let me tell you about their drinks – the fresh lemonade and sweet tea are simply divine! If you haven't been yet, don't wait another minute. Run, don't walk, to Johnson's Kitchen for an unforgettable dining experience.

This food was so amazing I had to come right here and yell it from the mountain! The flavor is delectable, everything is fresh, and the chefs are incredibly talented! The entire staff was sweet and beyond helpful. Honestly, I wish we lived locally so we could just eat here weekly, if not more. Wow! You won't be disappointed, that's for sure! I'm excited that we have leftovers so I can enjoy this on another day! Edit: Increasing to an overall five star. Since the inital review below i have been back a few times touring the menu. T's quesadilla, the crawfish rolls, the crawfish bread, shrimp, a hamburger, and the holy wings. You can't go wrong with any selection from Johnsons. (First review:) First time stopping by recently. We all had variations of the cajun pasta I believe it was. I don't remember the exact name on the menu - but it was excellent. In particular the alfredo sauce was very rich and thick and coated everything nicely and was flavorful as well. The shrimp were hot and crispy, and my friend said the chicken in his was just right as well. Service was friendly, food didn't take too long. If I were forced to nit pick I'd really just say I'd like to have see the salad bowls and other finished odd and ends be taken away to keep the table from getting crowded (everything was left until the end) - but regardless it was a positive experience and we'll be back again to try other items. Check it out if you are in the area.

My fiancé and I love Johnson’s Kitchen!! The Kingdom burger has us hooked. Do yourself a favor and try it. After eating their kingdom burger it is very hard to eat a burger from any other restaurant. This review would not be complete without me mentioning the amazing owners and staff🥰 You can literally feel the peaceful presence when you enter. Like I said do yourself a favor and go experience 5 star food and service!

So so good! We stopped for lunch while traveling through the area. Excellent food and service! The seafood is FRESH! Everything we ordered was delicious. My husband had the Kingdom Burger, I had the shrimp box, my teen son had the crawfish bread and fried catfish, and my youngest had the kids fried catfish. We enjoyed the food so much that we stopped by again when traveling back through a few days later. Highly recommend!

The surf and turf burger was phenomenal!! The bread was soft and sweet, the patty was juicy, and the 6 grilled shrimp on top were cooked to perfection! The fried pickels were some of the best we've ever had at at restaurant! You can tell things are homemade and they care about their customers! We cannot wait to go back!

Only regret is that we didn't go here sooner! Johnson's Kitchen has a wonderful atmosphere and the meal feels like a hug. We'll definitely be going back and bringing friends!

Me and my husband ate here while on vacation. Food was amazing but our two entrees came out about 20 minutes apart. No one ever brought us a ticket so we had just get up and pay ourselves. Our waitress came to our table I think 3 times total the whole time we were there. Really good food just inadequate service.

Great food from a family run resturant. The owner will come talk to you at your table to make sure everything was good. Over all it was a great experience and would highly recommend them although the wait was a bit long for the food, and the decor was a bit too religious for my taste.

We recently dined at Johnson's Kitchen on our way back from New Orleans, and it was an exceptional experience. The staff was truly fantastic, ensuring our every need was met. The food was prepared to order, and they were generous with their portions. The homemade burger, cooked to perfection, was a standout. The atmosphere was just right, making it an ideal stop for a quick and satisfying meal right off the highway. A definite five-star dining experience!

Everything is really nice and clean. Staff were very friendly, inviting and attentive. I have a seafood allergy and they took special precautions. I appreciated that the most. I will definitely be back! Made the trip from New Orleans worth while. Loved the slogan on the wall!

Stopped to eat for the first time at 2pm with only about 15 people in the building and about half of them already had their food, and we were told the wait for food was going to be 45 min to a hour. Needless to say we left. Bad first experience. Was told may want to come back on Mon, Tues or Wed. Would be less busy.

Best crawfish étouffée and catfish I’ve ever had! Very friendly people, great atmosphere, I will be eating here often. Can’t wait to try other items on the menu. Highly recommended!

I didn't take my leftovers, so.... I enjoyed the sweet potatoes and I don't usually eat sweet potatoes. These weren't overly syrupy. The red beans needed more salt, and the fish had the underbelly taste. It was a plenty food for the price. Next time I'd try wings. We also had some sort of dip with cheese and shrimp. I don't usually eat shrimp either, but I liked this. So I guess Johnson's Kitchen transforms food i don't eat into food i will. 😊

I consider myself a burger connoisseur and I just had one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, plus the crawfish bread was amazing, and my wife will be happy with the dessert I’m bringing home tonight. Thank you for a great experience for lunch today!

Been wanting to try this place lots of people I know said it was good? First of all as soon as you enter the building you are blasted with loud repetitive so called music!! Then we have never been there and it was 10 mins later that it was brought to our attention that you ordered at the counter which you could not see if you was seated in the eating area! Next I stood at the counter for 7 or 8 mins waiting to give someone my order, had 3 different people look at me but never said can I help you? They brought my food out then 7 or 8 minutes later so the order sat out on side table and rang bell for order up it was another 5 to 6 minutes or so before someone deciding to bring it to our table after several people had passed it by. I had heard so much about their crawfish bread, not very pleasant ,way too much salt still can't figure out what the sour tang you got once you started chewing it. Ate 3/4 of one piece and left the other, the fried catfish the meat itself was good but the breading had absorbed lot of the grease during the frying process. The coke was horrible tasted like dish soap not sure it was from spout being cleaned or glasses not rinsed at $3.80 a pop! The surf and turf burger was ok but pricey! Fries ok. Don't know if we just caught them on a bad day or what. We won't be back sorry but you only get one chance to wow me at today's prices! Very disappointing we were so looking forward to trying this restaurant after we had heard so much about.

My family was traveling to Texas from Florida for my son's graduation from BMT and we found this Gem..We met the owner who was VERY welcoming and courteous. I tried the Smothered okra with chicken, sausage and shrimp. OMG..My taste buds went crazy!!! It was so delicious and seasoned to perfection. My family tried the chicken tenders, hot wings and fries. Everyone said it was the best they've ever had. I have always wanted to try authentic Louisiana food and for my first time this restaurant did NOT disappoint!! If you're ever in the area definitely add this restaurant as one of your stops.

Great little hidden gem down Pumpkin Center Rd. Less than a 1/2 mile from the interstate. Local, family owned eatery. Staff was very friendly and super helpful. Food was great, a little pricey but everything we had was fantastic. Limited seating, but the place was very clean and neat. Will definitely be back!

I met the owner nice guy, I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because it was a Lil hot in there, other than that it was a good experience.

It was busy and the wait longer than anticipated. However, it was worth the wait. Food was delicious and staff was exceptionally pleasant!! Can't wait to stop there again soon!

I have been hearing raves about Johnson's Kitchen on Pumpkin Center. I was a little hesitant because their sandwiches are on buns. (Muffaletta style bread) Fried shrimp sandwich is delicious!!! 1/2 sandwich and a few sweet potato fries was very filling. Leftovers for tomorrow. I totally recommend. And, there is a drive thru window.

I have definitely found my new favorite place to eat in Hammond! My family and I had trouble deciding what to order, so we selected several items and shared. Everything we ordered was outstanding! And the staff was so kind and attentive. I especially loved the God and family decor on the walls because they are the 2 most important things in our lives as well. We will definitely be back and we will make sure to share our new discovery with the people of Mississippi! Wow!! Johnson’s Kitchen is truly amazing! My husband and I have visited for lunch and have always had a great experience. Recetly, we hired Johnson’s Kitchen to cater our wedding of 100+ guests and they definitely delivered! From the moment we chose them as our caterers, they were communicative, giving us the best options for catering at our venue (which had no kitchen, so all food had to be pre-made), being very transparent with great pricing, and always available to answer questions (and I had a lot!). The food was amazingly fresh and delicious and every single guest at our wedding complimented the great food. They even provided a private dinner for my husband and I right after our ceremony which was absolutely fantastic!! I cannot say enough about about Terrick and Venetria Johnson. If you are looking for a great place to eat, go to Johnson’s Kitchen. If you are looking for a caterer for your event, look no more! Call Johnson’s Kitchen!

This place is a Hidden Gem. If you haven't made it there yet MAKE A TRIP It is Well worth the drive Its located on Pumpkin Center between the I-12 and Hwy 22 on the right. The food is Amazing and well seasoned. Once you try it You will surely be back. We have tried numerous menu item. One of my favorites id the Crayfish Rolls or Crayfish Bread for appitizers The portions are large and I never leave without a go box. the Quesadilla's are Awesome!! My son and I decided that we would dine at one or more African American owned restaurants (ones that we hadn’t eaten at before) for Black History Month. We selected Johnson’s Kitchen because I had heard/read great things about the crawfish bread. We placed our order at the counter and then waited at a table for our food. The food was definitely worth the wait, and the crawfish bread was just as delicious as described! My son and I also ordered the seafood pasta, buffalo wings with fries, and chicken and waffles. The food was excellent! We ended up putting half of our food in to go boxes because we were so stuffed! I plan to eat there again. I especially want to indulge in the chicken and waffles again!

Went to eat here with the family and to say i was impressed is an understatement. First we got there toward their closing time so we thought we wouldn’t get serviced but we got serviced and they were very patient with us. The food and price was great the wait time is a little long but I rather wait to get my food freshly made over getting fast food restaurants. Very delicious desserts and homemade can’t beat that. The owner seems like a very humble person, seen him actually talking to his customers and truly care if his customers were happy. Will be going back soon. P.S. Their burgers are really good but their wings geeez those are the way to go!!! Be blessed!

All I can say is if you’re even THINKING about coming to check them out, DO IT!! They have some of the best food Hammond has to offer and we haven’t found a thing we didn’t like! You can’t go wrong with whatever you order off the menu! Aside from the amazing food, the owners and staff are super welcoming and the atmosphere is so peaceful! I was so pleased with absolutely everything. From the very beginning I felt completely at ease not only are he and his entire staff warm and welcoming, they are professional and excellent at what they do. Mr. Johnson was extremely understanding of all my last minute changes. He even took time out to allay a nervous brides fears about other aspects of her wedding. I sincerely thank them for going above and beyond.

My husband and I chose to host a brunch in celebration of our marriage. As our venue, we selected Johnson’s Kitchen. We are glad we did. The food prepared by the Johnson’s was delicious, and their service was excellent. For anyone planning a private dining experience, we highly recommend!

Driving thru the area and checked it out. We thought food was indeed good. Nice homey atmosphere. Only negative was the “homemade lemonade” it’s just crazy sweet sugar water” OMG is it sweet Can’t taste the lemon at all only sugar and water ; and for $4.25 a glass it so not worth it

A nice surprise detour on our way to Mississippi and not wanting chain food. Foid was delicious and owner and staff so gracious and helpful. Only thibg was food came out in shifts so all finished at various times. Longer stop than planned. But the fish and homemade cornbread annd strawberry lemonade well woth the stop!
