Great classic American classic breakfast and lunch but check out the Mexican breakfast and lunch options! I love the hostel ala Mexicans and the Juevos Rancheros.

Whether for breakfast or lunch, the food is always amazing. Great service and staff. Call ahead for take out. They are always busy!

Food was great The Chorizo was Delicious in my omelet. Great place check it out if your in town.

The bathroom was a sauna, but we received a great home cooked meal. Filled our belly's. This is not a fancy place. The food isn't plated fancy. I would eat there every time i was in the area. Great food. Big menu. And its a fun menu.

Nice little old time diner with good food but there is one server that I have been unlucky to have the past few weeks who took and serve my order for huevos rancheros that is always really good and I make the journey from Groton on Sundays and always left a decent tip I am sad to say I will have to find a different Sunday breakfast spot or start making my own huevos rancheros 😔

Decent place in the area for breakfast. Generous potions, reasonable prices. Inside is old school but the servers do their best with how busy it gets. Quite popular for the area. Got a huge steak omelet with home fries and toast for $12.99.

We have visited the place varios times and the food is incredibly good, it is served hot and in good combination of tastes. The personal is always asking if the could help in any way, and very courteous. The price is the "jaquemate" of this eating journey. We strongly recommend this.

Ever tell yourself, "I could use some good home-cooking" - but where someone else cooks, tends to your needs and cleans up afterwards? Well, hustle over to Joy's Kitchen then, less than a mile north of Mohegan Sun, 'cuz they do all three of these things really well. On a recent brunch visit, my wife and I immediately appreciated how attentive and polite the servers are. And the place is downright homey! Next, since I always cherish an eatery that can conjure up a heapin' bowl (or cup) o' grits, I'll be long remembering Joy's. Grits just that good! And under Mr. Flores' new but seasoned guidance, you can expect really fresh eggs, meats, veggies and home fries, nicely prepared American and/or Mexican style - and at darn good prices. The coffee and tea are also tend to flow about steady as the nearby Thames River, just hotter 'n tastier! The only glitch I detected was my bacon showed up a bit crispy, but server Marcos was ready to bring a softer batch pronto if I wanted; and he deserves top grades for his hospitality. All in all, if you want a comfy corale where you can fill up on tasty, nutritious fare, stop looking! Skedaddle over to Joy's, the warm, local place to eat and relax!

Was looking for a breakfast place near our hotel. Read the reviews and also asked the front desk for their referral. They said come here. We were not disappointed at all. The food was great and the service was great. We will be coming back next time we are in town.

This place has the best breakfast in Norwich! But unfortunately, as of 2024, they no longer deliver via DoorDash to my home in Ledyard. I’ve been ordering deliveries from this restaurant for a few years now, and now it’s no longer an option for us. Please expand your DoorDash delivery radius so we can continue ordering.

Been to Norwich twice and made sure to go here for chilaquiles twice. I've only had their red because we make our own green at Home. It is delicious. If you are passing by at Breakfast time, go here.

Excellent food. I had Joy's Omlet - and a cup of soup. Homefries were also cooked perfectly. If you are in thr area and are looking for a good meal at a fair price - this is the place!

Great diner. My Tex Mex omelet was perfectly cooked almost like a crepe of eggs with spicy filling. Home fries were the correct texture, sliced potatoes rather than chunks as I used to cut them when I was a cooks helper at a diner long ago. Well worth stopping in.

Just had lunch there with my wife. My deluxe cheeseburger and onion rings were awesome. My wife had chimichangas which were delicious. Great portions, nice people (Family owned) and super fast service. Breakfast is even better!

One of my favorite breakfast spots and I’ll never return. Customer service is horrible. Waited 15 minutes never even got drinks. However the table behind us that sat down long after was brought drinks and ordered as soon as they sat down. Choosing your friends over other customers us a great way to lose buisness.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while staying nearby. Excellent food and service with decent prices. Highly recommend.

What a great small-town diner! Mexican & standard American food done well. French toast & Huevos con Chorizo were very tasty. Exceptionally sweet & friendly staff. Avoid fast-food & support a great local business!

I have been going to Joys for years. So many dishes to choose from all made right there. Everyone I bring here loves what they order. I ALWAYS get their chicken flair as with rice and beans. It is so delicious. I also have an anaphylaxis reaction to avocado and they remember that! Awesome service fantastic food family style

Great Breakast, we walked there from the Norwich Inn. Enjoyed the food and the service. I had the huevos ranchero but they have all you need for Breakfast.

I went to Joy's every Sunday for years with my wife. During COVID we never went and I finally returned with my family and the waitress still remembered us. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the food is unbeatable for the price.

Joy's is awesome! I take my 93 year old Dad there for breakfast regularly and they all treat him like family. If we show up without Dad, they ask right away how he is doing. The food is great, service is fast and friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and casual. I highly recommend this place.

This place was so homey and clean. Waitress was so sweet and had everything organized. Check on our table and food to make sure everything was glare at and up to our standards, which it was. Their corn beef hash had crunchy pieces which I absolutely loved topped with scrambled eggs and wheat bread toast. It wasn’t greasy AT ALL! My husband had the super waffle ham, sausage and eggs plate. The waffle was also crunchy not soggy and that made me super happy lol. We will definitely be going again. Waitress was surprised we left a tip and said that we didn’t needed to do that and was very grateful. That made me think that she had never gotten a tip but she really deserved it!!!

Actually got my order of Menudo. I’ve been looking for since I’ve left the southwest. This is the most authentic Mexican that I’ve had in this area of Connecticut since moving to the state ferry great family customer service orientated restaurant will come back.

Joy's is a local favorite when it comes to breakfast food and traditional, homemade, Mexican food. A 6am-2pm diner-like restaurant, it just feels like coming home to a hot meal. Family owned, on the weekends when it's packed, they now have a bus person, someone ringing folks up, and walking around to see how patrons are enjoying their feed. That person tends to be the caring wife of the owner. Their 3 daughters have worked as servers for quite some time. The youngest recently married a military man, so that meant moving. But not too far away. In an emergency, she returns to help however they need her to, as well as her husband! The food is delicious, and it takes only a few times there to become a "regular"-or in my mind, "family". It's a must when traveling to The Mohegsn Sun, in Uncasville. Joy's is right down the street! And carry-out has become quite popular with locals and newbies alike. Dine at Joy's. Their coffee is better than Dunkin or Starbucks.

I ordered a greek salad with an egg for take out. The salad originally cost $9.95 and my order was over $15. There were peppers on my salad and no olives. Every single time I eat here is disappointing.

I thought we would try this spot because it had really good reviews. After trying it I didn't understand why it received such good ratings. The place was packed and it had a hole in the wall vibe. I do enjoy some mom and pop places but this isn't one of them. The service was terrible someone took my order and only saw them once and they never stopped to refill my coffee the entire time we were there. I ordered Mexican eggs with beans and rice. The peppers and onions in my eggs were cold and not cooked at all. The beans were like soup and cold. I also ordered a pancake and it was so tough I could barely cut it. We had to ask for the check after waiting forever and then was over charged for the disgusting food we had. It doesn't even deserve the one star I gave this place, we will not be returning!

This was our first time here but it won’t be the last. At first glance it’s not much. Plain on the the outside and in. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. I had the BEST biscuits and gravy of my life! Portions were good. The Prices where inexpensive. The menu was extensive with both America and Spanish selections. I’m already planning to go back for dinner soon.

Absolutely no complaints at all! The staff was so friendly and the restaurant was so clean. Parking not great but who cares. The food was phenomenal and the prices are so affordable. My daughter and I can't wait to go back. It's definitely worth stopping if your in the area.

I've tried this restaurant before. Had a taste for breakfast and this restaurant was the only one I knew around that was open so early in the morning. I wish I went to Starbucks to get my breakfast! I bought the gravy and biscuits which comes with eggs and hash browns. I expected for the gravy to be on the biscuits only instead the eggs were on top of the biscuits and then the gravy on top of it. Oh!! That is disgusting!!! The eggs should have been on the side! The gravy was very bland and the biscuits tasted like those frozen ones that you take out and defrost and plop on a plate. The whole meal was very disappointing never mind the fact that they are expensive!! I ordered the meal with a side order of sausage and it came to over $18!! This "meal" was NOT worth it! I will not be going back and neither would I ever recommend this trash to anyone else. I am disgusted and disappointed!!! Don't waste your time! There are many other restaurants to patronize and you'd get your monies worth and tastes better!!!! Ugh!!!!!

This is a great diner! I've NEVER had a negative experience at this establishment. The service is fantastic and the food is always excellent. You've got to try this place! Joy's Restaurant is the real deal. Went to Joy's again today. After eating here dozens of times, still no negative experience. This place is consistently good.

You have all these great reviews. And goggle shows your open until 8. We get there at 7 pm craving authentic and the place is closed.

Wait staff were friendly, prompt, and attentitave. I ordered the huevos rancheros, which were brought out within 10 mins, but were definitely cooked up fresh and to order. My waitress even brought out multiple size to-go boxes to see what I preferred when I said I'd take some leftovers with me. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was I wanted the eggs over easy, but she didn't ask so I didn't specify, and they came well done. Also, I would have enjoyed a somewhat less sweet/ a more chunky salsa/ sauce, but thats just my preference. Overall, good food, great service, reasonable price. I recommend.

Joys Country Skillet was suggested by a friend of a friend. Being transplanted here by the military, it pays to know locals😋 The food at Joy's is awesome and so is the service! I love the casual diner feel here and the staff clearly knows the community and the regulars that come in. They are attentive, making sure coffee is filled and you have what you need. I very much enjoyed my Enchiladas Suizas on my first visit and there are plenty more options I'm looking forward to trying. The parking is problematic on the weekend; not a big lot for a popular place. *Note: don't park at the auto place across the way...they DO notice! Overall I enjoyed my experience at Joys and love having another great breakfast option. ❤️
