Another great dining experience at this gem of a restaurant. The ambiance, great salad with the best balsamic vinaigrette, the main dish... best lasagna around. Feeling so good after that, we went all in for the dessert. We chose the amaretto brownie a la mode. Good Lord, we haven't felt that close to heaven since services last Sunday. There's nothing more to say other than thank you ladies, for a wonderful evening.

Great Atmosphere, great service, and amazing authentic Italian food. This is honestly some of the best food you will ever have. The owners are so accommodating and they do an excellent job making sure everyone feels like family. Highly recommend, I promise you’ll be back!

The restaurant was beautiful, the workers were nice, and the food was amazing. I have to leave 3 stars simply because we waited 45 minutes with a reservation. This is the longest I have ever had to wait for a table, reservation or not. I was just about ready to leave by the time we were sat, especially because I have a bad knee. This sort of wait time for a reservation is, to me, unacceptable. The kicker was our reservation was for 7:30 in the dining room, but people with reservations for 8:00 of our same party size were sat in the dining room before us, yet we were eventually sat in the café after them at around 8:15. As mentioned in another review, it seemed these people might have been some sort of “special patrons” who were simply more important to them than our Valentine’s Day reservation.

Another fantastic meal as usual! Costanza and Joseph run a fabulous restaurant and serve outstanding food. I have NEVER eaten a meal there that was less than excellent!

We feel like family here. Excellent food and drinks. My family gets together here at least once a year for a special meal.

Showed up for dinner and didn't realize you need a reservation. So nice that they were able to accommodate us!

I never do reviews but I had to for this restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. I had the rack of lamb it was cooked perfectly just the right amount of char and a very tender cut. The broccoli was aldentè and the mashed potatoes were full bodied. Everything was seasoned perfectly I did not use any salt or pepper as none was needed. My wife had a magnificent filet mignon and a crab cake that was exquisite. Our appetizers were out of this world perfectly seared scallops and a sweet and salty mushroom cap with a chocolate and caramel sauce that at first I thought would be weird but the flavors came together to be one an amazing experience. The waitress we had Alexis forgive me if I misspelled it was very attentive and not at all rushing or pushy with anything. The atmosphere was amazing no one was on their cellphones at all as I can only imagine they were enjoying the experience as much as we were. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone who want to enjoy an evening of wonderful fresh made food of true quality in the perfect little spot.

Fabulous! If you want finer food in this area and like Italian this is your place. Our waiter Jeffery is originally from New Orleans and made us feel at home. Everything is fresh! The desserts are made in house and we are experts on desserts!

We had two reservations a week a part. The first one was a test-drive. What can I say. On a scale of things it is, probably, the best Italian place in town, but not the best in the country. The fazoli (white bean) pasta soup was excellent (might have been a bit too thick at the end of the day). My orange roughie special was very good. My wife had lasagna and our friend had a veal parmigiana. Both enjoyed their dishes. It definitely adds to the experience that the restaurant is located in a very rough part of town and I am not sure how they survive by being open just two nights a week (Friday and Saturday). One way or the other, I am happy that they are here, Good luck guys.

Wonderful place to go to eat! Food is excellent, service is great! Has to be one of the top ten resturants in the County! Reasonable prices, great atmosphere.

Prompt and courteous service. We selected our favorite dish, Chicken Parmigiana and it was served with ale dente spaghetti and homemade marinara sauce (not too acidic). The house chianti was very good. The special desert that night was strawberry shortcake and the fruit was marinated in peach brandy! Some reviewers were not pleased with the surroundings, but we found the rustic décor with soft lighting to be charming and we absolutely loved the food.

Love the history in this restaurant and the original decor from way back when. Great ambiance. Bar is beautiful. Staff were friendly. Food blew me away!!! Everything is fresh and made to order so don't be in a hurry. The flavors of the chicken Parm were incredible and it was incredibly tender. Melted in your mouth. My friends steak cacciatore (filet mignon) was delicious and so tender you barely needed to chew it. And can I tell you how delectable the homemade desserts were?! So many to pick from and scrumptious. I had the strawberry shortcake with a cake that was not heavy like pound cake but not shortcake either. Whatever it was it tasted incredible and had so many nooks and crannys you could see each in detail. I like that it wasn't very sweet. The banana cream cake was divine. Moist and flavorful with a cream filling between each layer and on top. Eating here is a MUST. It's off the beaten path somewhat but totally worth it.

This is one of the BEST dining experiences I've ever had! I am in complete awe about how delicious everything was. This also includes having an unexpected chance to meet BOTH of the owners / chef. I have to tell you: I truly did not expect much being that I've tasted my share of great meals. But this place?!? Baaaaaay-bee: so flipping good. 🤌🏿 And the ambiance: everything! And, I am willing to say that I had the best salmon I've had in my life...so far. Y'all gotta try this out. It is worth every penny. 🙌🏿

Food was good but very very expensive. Pretty setting BUT we called 3 weeks early to reserve a particular table in the corner by the fireplace for ValentinesDay(had tried for New Years Eve and told that table had been reserved for more than a month). Anyway we were told it was available for 6:30 on Valentines Day so we reserved it and we were so happy. So when we got there lo and behold another couple (my guess is they were “special patrons “ to be catered to no matter what” were seated at our table and Julio’s was “sorry, but we would have to take what was available”. We were not happy and very disappointed to say the least and have decided they do not keep their word so don’t waste your time for an overpriced meal even for a “special” occasion!

We had heard so much about this restaurant, that we planned a stay over while traveling through that area to stop for a dinner. We arrived and stood waiting at the entrance area ( end of bar ) for 15 minutes before someone approached us. We then were told there were no tables available at the time ( yet we could see many empty tables in front of us, however we waited until they decided it was time to seat us. ( At one of the empty tables we had seen upon arriving )..... we began to wonder if not being a usual patron was the issue, because it seemed the waitress helping our table was more interested in everyone else in the room, but us. We proceeded to now wait for our waitress to return so that we could order a drink. She finally returned after a very long time and wanted our dinner order, which we still hadn't received water or had placed a drink order. So when told we wanted to have a drink first, she immediately got an attitude, took the order and walked away. Never to return to our table. We sat for another 25-30 minutes " just to see how long it would take her to return ", before finally getting up and leaving the restaurant. We will never return and will never recommend this place to anyone ! STAY AWAY

The only good place in the state to get proper food. Despite its location you will be completely fooled by how amazing this restaurant is.

Such a beautiful meal and lovely atmosphere! Sat by a gorgeous fire, laughed with family and friends, and our dinner was delectable!! The Veal Picotta was perfect in every way! The staff were as sweet as you can be, felt like we were all family. A perfect double date, we feel like we tasted a bit if heaven. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting the perfect night out.

We had a fantastic experience of food, service, and ambience last night at Julio's. The decor is very retro and nostalgic and well done. Our gracious server (sorry I have forgotten her name) was helpful and on top of everything! The food was really well prepared and quite generous, simply delicious! Imagine a bolognese made with ground tenderloin!! That was a special last evening along with a veal and lobster with a to-die-for cream sauce. Small but well chosen wine list. Then, as though we had room for more, we learned of the 7 dessert choices. If we thought it was tough choosing from the entrees, the desserts sounded fabulous. We had the pistachio cream cake topped with chocolate ganache! WOW!!! If we lived in the area I would dine here once a week!! Fantastic!!

OH. MY. ITALIAN FOOD!!!! So, I live in Houston, Texas and I was up there for work (oil and gas business). The VP that lives up there said we MUST eat at Julio's Cafe before I leave. Not gonna lie, I was skeptical. Let me tell you...this place blew me away. HANDS DOWN THE BEST ITALIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so impressed that I had to meet the chefs. Father and son were working away in there. Super nice people. Dessert was absolutely fantastic too. I am planning another trip up there in 2022. I told my Mom she is coming with me on this trip. Only reason - so she can experience this culinary greatness herself! BEST food I've ever had. AMAZING!!!!

Their filet mignon is to die for! I’ve been going there with my father since I was a child and it continues to be one of our favorite hidden gem restaurants.

JULIO'S IS OPEN FOR INDOOR DINING AGAIN! After months of waiting. 3rd generation family owned Italian and fine dining. Awesome food, and wonderful people. Constanza is the owner/manager, and the grandaughter of the founder. The pepper and tomato appetizers are must have. Try the half and half plate. The bean and onion soup has been featured in Southern Living and other magazines. Julio's is in the Glen Elk neighborhood across from the old B and O station. Off the beaten path these days but well worth finding. I come in from Ohio just to eat at Julio's.

Just opened up for inside dining and the food and service were great, as always.

If you love italian this is your place. Out of this world food made to order. Very pleased 10 stars!

12/31/2019 Another Fabulous dinner at Julio's. I've visited this spot many times over the course of many years. Always consistently great. The most difficult thing about Julio's is deciding what to order because it's all scrumptious from start to finish.

One of the absolutely best places for food in all of WV. We've celebrated every big occasion and general days here. The family who owns this place is one of the most genuine, talented, wonderful families you'll ever find in the restaurant industry. This is THE PLACE to go if you're looking for authentic Italian cuisines in a charming, elegant setting.

Our review is a little different than most. We were there in 1977, while I was a resident at the Family Practice medical residency there in Clarksburg. Julio himself came to our table, where we were seated with the clinical director of our residency, Dr. Bob Hess. My wife and I recall terrific ambience, fantastic food, and the most wonderful experience with Julio! All these years later, we still think back, fairly often to the fantastic experience and wonderful food that we had there.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here, good, made from scratch food and great service. Nice atmosphere.

Popped in for quick lunch. Awesome atmosphere, including the original Picasso! Tasty salad and cup of soup. Delicious garlic toast and Regiano Parmesan cheese. Best coffee I had all day. Perfect waiters too!

My boyfriend and I went there. It was amazing. We just came up from SC And there are lots of great places there. We we pleasantly surprised! We had fillet and pasta!!

An evening with food and friends is always a treat. On a chilly afternoon it's a nice place to stop for great bowl of pasta e fagioli and a hunk of bread. The white pasta e fagioli is one of my favorites.

Great ambiance dining in the back room, but our meals were overpriced and filet mignon was not good, nor was chicken. Pasta was very good. Would not return.

OMG! Can I say Wonderful enough. Awesome food, service and adult beverage selection. Pricey but worth every dime.

We enjoyed our visit. We had a large Paisano salad and shared it. It was delicious and a very large portion. My husband had the lasagna and I had a scallop pasta special. We both enjoyed our meal very much. The service was good. We ate during the lunch hour that has a limited lunch menu and will go back for dinner.

Wait is entirely to long. Took over half our to bring our WARM salad no tomatoes very average. Took another 40 minutes to bring our entree’s with no one checking on us to even say sorry for your wait. Veal piccata was good but not worth the wait. Won’t go back.

Everything about our experience was excellent -- service, food, wine, and value! I live near Washington DC, and I have yet to find an Italian restaurant remotely comparable to the quality Julio's provides. If you want excellent Italian food and service in the Clarksburg WV area, and don't mind spending a bit more than your run of the mill restaurant, visit Julio's. I find it difficult to believe anyone would leave unhappy -- or hungry!

My family took me to Julio’s to celebrate my birthday. Everyone enjoyed their food. The staff was friendly and atmosphere was nice. The only complaint was the price.

I was not impressed. My husband and I went with some people from his work for a holiday dinner. We were expecting it to be pricey, and I don't have an issue with the prices charged because that was expected. However, if I pay $38 for a filet, I expect it to be cooked to order and to taste good. I ordered the 10 oz filet with the salad and potato and substituted pasta with alfredo for the vegetable. The salad was fine though I didn't care for the house dressing. I was upcharged for choosing alfredo sauce. The mashed potatoes tasted like potato flakes and were missing salt, butter, and milk. The pasta portion was in a fiesta fruit bowl (6 oz bowl) that wasn't full. My husband ordered the same as me but with red sauce on the pasta. Neither of us were impressed with the red sauce flavor, and I wasn't overly impressed with the alfredo sauce. My steak was ok. I could tell it was a great piece of meat, but it wasn't seasoned much at all. My husband had to send his steak back. He ordered it medium well, and it was more rare than my med-rare steak. He sent it back and said they could butterfly it. They returned to him a steak that was still a medium to medium rare. There was no management apology and no adjustment to the bill. The waitress made an excuse that it was the lighting; one of the other wives said "it wasn't the lighting. That cow was still mooing!" There are so many options for great Italian restaurants in the area and at least two restaurants that serve a much better tasting filet, so we will not be back to Julio's.

Attended a Christmas office party here and was surprised by this hidden gem. The food was fabulous: bruschetta, white bean soup (slightly too peppery for my taste), lasagna, crab cakes, scallops, filet mignon. All excellent! We had a party of around 40 and the service staff kept up with us.
