Been stopping in here for 5 years when we come to visit and the frappe's and pastries never disappoint!

Cats, books, and coffee - love it. Cats are friendly and sociable. Coffee is great and affordably priced. Make a pit stop and enjoy.

Amazing place to relax and drink some coffee

A must-visit while in the area. Charming little bookstore vibes, smells like books and warm croissants. We had a smoothie, a latte, and a croissant and then visited again every day of our vacation. Muffin and Mr. Beans himself greeted us and they’re so sweet. Don’t miss this adorable, delicious, rare local treasure.

The owner was super helpful and made a delicious smoothie. There are also custom sodas and my son loved his green apple soda. There was also a good selection of local/FL history books. There was only one cat there the day we visited, but he was super cute.

We had a great visit at Mr.Beans. Delicious drinks. Cutest kitties. We enjoyed our drinks while sitting with Muffin. Purchased a few books also. Coffee, kitties, and books! Couldn't get much better!

Omg I love this! Great coffee, new and used books, coloring books and travel guides, and the softest, sweetest cat. Super cute, laid back vibe. My latte was terrific and they had all the milk types. Pastries as big as your head. What a treasure! It’s on the end of a little strip - bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside.

Can't stress enough to say how essential it is to check this place out if you're looking for coffee. Mister owner was super super friendly, Mr.Bean is a cutest car ever and entertained us with his stretch and nibbling on treats. Had hot cappuccino and it was delicious. Highly recommend.

The coffee is amazing. The owner is kind. The book selection is wonderful. Finally, the star of the show, the CATS are FANTASTIC. 10/10 recommend giving Muffin a chin scratch. 🤎

Owner was friendly! Wifes coffee was good, didnt have any decaf so I didnt get anything. Coffee, books, cats....whats not to love, right? Cool idea that just needs some polish. Felt like maybe trying to play into the Hemingway vibe of the area. Cats in the coffee/food prep area didnt bother me but im sure is a turn off for some customers. Guy behind us wanted a breakfast burrito but they were still frozen? Old computer and vinyl cutter in the dining area doesnt aide in the ambience. Combined with amount of old books it just falls short of what it could be.

Such a cute little local shop! It’s family run, the owner is so nice and will visit with you/tell you about his cats 😊 The food and drinks were tasty as well. What can possibly be better than books, coffee, and cats all in one store?

We like to try as many non-Starbucks options as possible while on vacation. Mr Beans Books and Beans had a name that drew us in. What better is that Mr Beans is the cat. The cat in the picture is Muffin though. Mr Beans wouldn’t pose. The friendly worker was shocked I wanted 4 shots in my medium vanilla latte but it was SO GOOD. They also have a ton of books. Do not pass this place up.

I can't rave enough about this hidden gem. My family and I were staying at Tranquility Bay Resort and this place caught my eye as I drove past - I decided to stop in. I was met with the most darling two kitties asking for pets, miles of bookshelves, comfy couches and a very hard working store owner with an amazing touch for espresso drinks. I greatly enjoyed my visits to this place and was so happy to see that the place was BUSY and that the locals seemed to love it as much as I did - though I am sure the owner would be happy for more help, he deserves all the business he is getting. Thank you, store owner, for your welcome and for letting me get acquainted with the legendary Mr. Beans and The Muffin!!

What a great spot! Our frozers were delicious and not overly sweet (I appreciate being able to actually taste the coffee). The owner was very personable and helped me select a book for our flight later this week. Mr. Beans was resting from all his hard work when we visited, but we got to visit with Muffin, who is so sweet. ❤️

Coffee is extremely delicious, this guy really knows how to make a great coffee. High quality coffee, smooth, low acidity and very well done. Croissant 🥐 was fresh. It is a cozy place with beautiful cats. 🐈‍⬛ 🐈

This cat café/bookstore is a great place to take a break from your vacation or just hang out. Me and my family ( 6 people ) confortably enjoyed this spot. The owner runs the store with a part-timer and is very friendly. His two cats, Mr. Bean and Muffin, are very adorable and friendly. The store itself has a wide range of books and syrup flavors. There is a bathroom for those who are wondering. Overall I would say this place is a great spot to hang out or stop in for a quick coffee or smoothie. I recommend the pina colada smoothie with Yogurt.

Had an amazing experience at this coffee shop! They have the best drinks and the cutest cats (Muffin and Mr Beans). Jeff is awesome, loves what he does and is really good at it. He explained that the macchiato they serve is the original traditional one (which is no where close to the starbucks macchiato). Would highly recommend stopping by here when visiting Marathon Key or driving on the way to key west.

Fantastic coffee shop!! The prices for coffee are amazing compared to what you have around you. $3 for a cup of coffee versus $5 is way different. The coffee taste was excellent. Loved that you can buy some books while you are there. The owner is a pleasant man and he loves cats. Will go again many times while I am in the Keys.

While staying next door at Tranquility Bay my son and I walked over each morning for coffee, a smoothie, and a breakfast sandwich. The place is super cute with delicious coffee and really kind employees (including the owner). It’s clean and has a nice selection of books as well. FYI - the cat (Mr. Beans) lounges around and lets you pet him if you want. I’m not a cat person but man, I want to be that cat as he has a relaxing life!

A great little stop on the way to Key West my daughter fell in love with the kitties and the food was amazing.

Really neat little bookstore and coffee shop. Really good coffee and espresso (however, no chai tea latte). Very good baked goods. A variety of smoothies. A decent selection of new, popular books. Some varied used books. Pet friendly, too (if your pet is well-behaved and gets along with cats).

Such a great cafe. The owner has a few cats that will allow you to pet them. The smoothies are also super good and filling. I would love to go back to here. I love cafes that also have a book area where you can browse while enjoying your drink. It was a very relaxing stop.

Best coffee/bookstore in the area by far. Drinks and food are excellent. Drinks are better than Starbucks. Owner is such a nice guy. Bonus is there are two adorable cats here too. Highly recommended.

Vacationing here and needed a non-fiction book for high school, we found a new book about the creation of the keys, owners recommended it and we bought it, reasonable cost.... We are home and still reading the book. The book is a delight!

Must visit if you love cats books and coffee. Coffee and danish were 10/10. Service was great. If you are lucky you’ll get to meet Mr. Beans himself. If you like fantasy be sure to grab a copy of legends and lattes if they have it in stock! :)

This is the best coffee in Marathon and probably in the entire Keys. They have a wonderful selection of books about Florida and the Keys and, of course, two of the most adorable and friendliest fur babies ever! Do yourself a favor and stop in for a coffee and give Muffin a couple of scritches.. it'll make your day 😻

ADORABLE shop with great Marathon vibes! I had a strawberry banana smoothie and it was delicious!!! Cats and staff were very friendly and welcoming - gonna be visiting a lot more!!

Do Not Got to Starbucks! The best coffee in Marathon is here. The owner is the sole employee (besides his very cute cat). You may wait a minute but the coffee is great and he always has a choice of different roasts! He has a large selection of books and many interesting finds. I would say around a 1,000 books. Places like this deserve your business. I've been visiting this place for many years and it simply is the best in Marathon!

Thought it would be a great spot to grab a coffee and meet the cats....ummmm...just don't. The coffee was bad. Quite bitter, and not surprising after seeing how dirty the grinder was. The baked goods are from Costco, so not sure how fresh they are since there isn't one close! BUT the cats....while they are nice cats, there are food and water bowls behind the coffee counter on the floor and the owner had to get a cat off of the stack of bags. I'm not sure how you have animals living in a food service facility, this has to be a health code violation! I thought they would be in a separate area....it seems run down and dirty. The owner was crabby as well, even after I left a 20% tip anyway.

Great coffee shop. We stop in and get some brewed coffee as well as a bag or two of beans whenever we're in town. Great coffee, excellent book selection, and some very friendly kitties. It's me personal favorite place to get coffee in the keys.

Need coffee? Pastry? Pet a kitty? It's all here... books too. A small mom and pop coffee house at the middle to southern end of the key. Worth the stop to unwind from the day or wake up in the morning.

Fresh bakery items and all the flavors and types of coffee you would want. Kick Dunkin or Starbucks and come here and enjoy the coffee and books and the kitty cats!!

We absolutely love this shop! We popped in for our morning coffee while preparing for our wedding and we're thrilled to find a sweet little tortie sitting on the couch to greet us! The coffee and pastries were just what we needed and I walked away with a new book! Cannot recommend Mr Beans Books and Beans enough!

I love books,coffee and cats. This place had it all. The owner was as sweet as they came. He made us specialty coffee than came out and chit chatted with my friend and I. He told us how he had just adopted this cat from the shelter. Being a rescue cat owner myself, I was glad to pay for my coffee at a local owned than a chain. His book store and new and used titles along with a selection of local authors. I will definitely be back.

As soon as I came across the name I knew it was going to be a gem! I wish I had found it earlier since I go to the keys often but it is one of those places that we just NEED to go every time no questions asked. The pastries are so notably high quality I drive from Miami just to take some home. The owner is a respectful person and is super helpful. I was even given the chance to hold the mighty Mr. Beans who I adore so much. Definitely recommend to everyone! Definitely will support this place all the way
