As a British person, I would not use this place as an example of an English experience, far from it. The food is horrible and is nothing like UK products. They've taken local food and manipulated it to be different, imported a few expensive items to carry the idea, and overcharge as much as possible. The kissass service is to flease you for a tip. The place survives on a few locals swinging by for game night or two with a sorry big screen. It needs proper management. To any visitor, please dont imagine this be English or British quality....it is not !

The first time I saw on google maps this restaurant I wanted so badly to visit it and have the British food experience by my first time. We did it and in my personal experience this is the kind of places you go and won’t come back. The waitress was really kind. I had the famous fish and chips but it was so greasy! The fish did not have good flavor and I got sick.My husband had shepherd’s pie it was good. Prices are $$$. The decoration it’s beautiful and they have taking into account small details.

Such a fun place to visit. The King’s Head British pub is a bit in the middle of nowhere though not inconveniently far from things. It is on Route One, north of the St Aug airport and south of Palencia. It has a very authentic British pub feel with amazing beers on tap, very good British food and even a cider or two. Some other reviewers had referred to it as cozy or warm. They are on the mark. I had the fish and chips which had a piece of haddock that was the size of my forearm. My lovely wife had a cheese and broccoli quiche. We shared a peach and cream tart which was delicious and incredibly difficult to explain….apologies for not taking pictures. This is definitely a great place to spend an hour or two and forget you are not in the UK.

Kings Head is a really cool authentic English pub smack in the middle of old Florida. They’ve created a fantastic vibe both inside and out, with a real old London bus, red phone booth, and lovely outdoor garden seating. Inside, you’ll feel like you’ve teleported back to a proper small town pub. The décor and careful curation are nearly perfect. Food offerings are authentically English too. We enjoyed fish, chips, sausage rolls, and I sipped a Fuller’s London Pride on draught for the first time since last being in the UK. What a special surprise! I sincerely recommend paying a visit to Kings Head for a uniquely British experience if you’re ever in this neck of the woods.

We have been faithful patrons for years but today I must say our meals were awful. No cod, so we took as suggested the haddock and for $23.00 it was horrible. The fish was greasy and lacking flavor. The new fries were okay but I missed the steak fries. Thinking it would rebound I asked for desserts. Chocolate cake? Where's the rhubarb pies, it's season. No sticky toffee pudding? For $50.00 plus 20% tip I feel like we won't be back. Also missing some familiar faces, I asked if there was a new owner. The cod and fries at Culver's for half the price was twice as good. Reading some reviews I see I'm not the only one disappointed. Sorry to wrote this but hopefully after a bit we will try aging.

My wife and I stopped by here for lunch while vacationing in the area. There is off-street parking and the decor is what you would expect from a British pub. The menu is traditional British fare and not very extensive so I recommend you check it out online before you visit. They have a small selection of English and Irish beers with one English cider by the bottle. The staff are also friendly and willing to answer any questions you have about the menu selections. I would recommend this place for a bite to eat if you are in the mood for traditional British fare.

Absolutely horrendous meal at this restaurant. I ordered the fish pie, and what came out was nothing of the sort. Basically a microwaved fish chowder tasting like it came from a can. A single piece of puff pastry placed on top. This hardly qualifies as a pie, and to charge nearly $18 is insane.

As an Englishman living in Florida 'British pubs' are so often disappointing, too busy trying. NOT this Kings Head. NO bling bling, NO too loud music or bright lights, just the real deal. I was served a great pint of ale and ate well, apart from Sunday lunch, when I ate like a king. This kings Head, could be dropped in any English village & would blend right in. They have all the requirements, great beer & food, a welcoming ambience, staff who are attentive, enthusiastic & engaging. without the Ra Ra. Hats off to Heidi, her crew & the owners.

Overpriced, didn’t have their speciality breads and cheese, like before. They overpriced a seemingly “ store white bread” baguette for 5 $ a basket, we had it twice, when the bread should be part of the menu with the amount of food and drinks that we ordered, .The seafood pie had a so-called “bisque “white sauce with very little seafood in it, ( it was a bowl of soup, not a pie) , It was a very disappointing experience, especially when we got the extremely high bill. We probably won’t go back there again.

My wife and I have now eaten at Kings Head and it's been great every time. Kings Head is a true British Pub and Restaurant and not a cheap imitation. The inside of it is exactly like some of the many pubs that we visited during our two weeks in England a few years ago. We've mostly been served by Heidi who has been there 30 years and she's always terrific and she runs a pretty tight ship but last night we were served by Abby. Abby was sweet and attentive and we couldn't have been more pleased with her. The food is about as authentic as any English food that you are going to find in Florida. Our friend and I had the Bangers and Mash while my wife had the garlic shrimp. We started with their delicious sausage balls and we we're completely satisfied as usual. Kings Head has all the British favorites. Fish and chips, cottage pie the like a long with a couple of somewhat American fair like burgers and fish sandwiches. I think that the next time we go I will try the seafood pie. It's fish and shrimp in a cream sauce covered in Mashed potatoes and it looks really good. We really like Kings head every time that we go and I think that you will too if you give them a try. It's a great place for a family meal or a couple of pints with friends. Atmosphere was completely unique, I guess that’s why you come here. You definitely do not come here for the food. Fish and chips for $23 should not come with what appear to be frozen French fries.. Like Orida crinkle cut. Fish portions were small and greasy. I could also comment on the fisherman’s Pie which was not a pie but a bisque. Fisherman’s bait and switch. This place is worth half what they charge… but alas the beer was good. Come to drink and skip the food. There is fun to be had with the dart boards and decor.

Scotch egg and chips $17+ frozen chips that had been left over and refried totally over cooked but yet only warm inside. What sort of establishment can't cook British chips !!!! Scotch egg blackish on outside and only it had already been cut I would not have been able to cut with the cutlery provide again warmish suggesting had been previously cook before. Chips were sent back and it took over 10 minutes to be brought to table without even an apology. Two things on the plate not even garnish. Cod and chips $23 same result batter was greasy and fish Luke warm but fish itself was decent. Again no garnish. Tub of mustard 50 cents lol. Pint $8+ glass of wine $11. Had 3 different people serve us . The initial person who brought the food knew it was substandard and totally ignored our attention . Would not advise any person to visit for a meal a total disgrace to trade under BRITISH ethos. Memorabilia decent but saw nothing of present Monarch the King. Was so looking forward to this visit resulting in a total let down . Would be ashamed to bring visitors from UK this pub.

We stopped here primarily for Scotch eggs, which I've had in innumerable places. This was the first I've had served with broon sauce (H&P) instead of some variation of remoulade. Brown sauce being the go-to in Scotland, I figured I'd give it a go. $17 for one Scotch egg quartered? Yikes! And I believe it was baked versus fried. We also tried their variation of bangers and mash, which was battered. I've never had a banger that didn't include fennel but perhaps Irish and British are different. At least, they didn't explode. I suppose they were good, just not what I've come to expect of a banger. I was also disappointed to find they didn't have Innis & Gunn as one of the beers stocked.

The chicken was dry, the potatoes were dry, my husbands chips were dry. The veg had good flavour. The Yorkshire was good - nice and cakey, just how I like it. I understand this is preference but I enjoyed it. The heavy was minimal, I had to ask for more. The whole meal had the texture and taste of a reheated meal that had been sat out all day. And it was $60 for two of us. Two dinners and two waters. I was so disappointed. The atmosphere was on the cold and stark side.

We’ve been coming here for over a decade and we were disappointed for the first time in all those years. They had been closed for renovations for a short period. When we returned, we found the ambiance had diminished due to most of the art and artifacts removed along with added bright lighting which took away from the coziness and uniqueness that we loved so much. We completely understand the prices had to change to keep up with the economy, but with the drastic change in prices overall, the reduced portion size of the fish & chips has sadly lead us to look elsewhere. The one constant is the level of service. It’s always been outstanding. We feel it was a bad business move to go in this direction.

Best fish and chips I ever had. The sausage rolls appetizer was amazing. Definitely the best fish and chips in St. Augustine. I have tried the others. They don't compare to kings head.

Closed, closed, closed. I tried 4 times different dates. Maybe they close it when they see me on the parking lot

The food and drinks were a bit pricy ($23.50 for one piece of fish on a bed of fries and $13.50 for one glass of wine) but over all the food was delicious and would recommend trying the fish and chips.

British cuisine meant "unfussy dishes made with quality local ingredients, matched with simple sauces to accentuate flavour, rather than disguise it." Awesome atmosphere

First visit. Very extensive decorations from Britain. Had cod fish and chips. Large portion of fish but nothing special for $23.50. Over priced but it was an experience. I won't go back.
