Right out the bat the food was FANTASTIC! Cooked perfectly, tasted heavenly, definitely want to go back. However, and this is a big one, couldn’t help but feel my wife and I were seated all the way in the back in the corner when the restaurant wasn’t full. The back room is the seemingly least decorated room for tables while the front two rooms are much better laid out. Our server was nice and super helpful but the first impression from the host really stared on the wrong foot.

Kiran’s is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in a warm, elegant ambiance. The food is exceptional, blending traditional Indian flavors with modern culinary techniques. Each dish is a work of art, bursting with rich, vibrant flavors that showcase the chef’s mastery. The service is impeccable, with staff who are both attentive and knowledgeable. The wine selection is also superb, complementing the meal perfectly. Whether for a special occasion or just a night out, Kiran’s offers an unforgettable dining experience. Highly, highly recommended!

Our first visit experience was not so great but glad we gave this place another chance. The indian lady who welcomed us to the venue was very friendly and accommodating. She might be one of the owner of Kiran’s. Our waiter was also very nice. He was patient and gave us wonderful suggestions! I extremely love the eggplant dish with roti. The roti was so thin and tasty and paired so well with the eggplant dish. I will return again just to have this! The naan pizza was special and tasted great too! I expected the vegetables to be more cooked though (capsicums tasted kinda raw)

Hate to give less stars to an Indian restaurant but 2 is what Kiran's deserves. The place looked great until we were walked to our seat in the back of the restaurant, I asked if that was where guest with kids were always seated and was told so. The back room could be little more fancier and less boring considering the menu and pricing is not any different for the front and back areas. Ordered Chili Tikka, chicken was precooked/recooked before tossing in the sauce hence very dry and hard. We ordered a Paneer tandoor starter which was the best thing we tasted at Kiran's, it has a mustard sauce in it and was outstanding. Tried 4 different cocktails that were good but not something to brag about. The Paneer Kofta was again average, nothing special. The biggest disappointment after Chili Tikka was the Rhogan Josh, meat was very hard even when using knife and the sauce wasn't good. We did complain but nothing was done about it nor was it removed from the bill. I did not care much that they had no complimentary starters nor that they did not do anything after they acknowledged it was one of the guests birthday. Overall waste of $500 that could easily buy you a better Indian food for 2-3 times. The food needs to make a restaurant $$$ not the decor (here that was limited too)

Today I ordered delivery, my butter chicken was tough and the yogurt was off, I made a complaint. I just got a very nasty call from the restaurant manager stating that the chicken and yogurt were perfect, and then she hung up on me. Not a memorable experience. Will never order again, she left a very bad taste in my mouth, the woman (I assume from the email it was Puja Verma) was extremely angry and rude. I am upset. I have been ordering takeout from Kirans multiple times a month for years. Never had any problems, food has consistently been fine. Being mistreated obliged me to make this review.

Kiran’s offers a fine dining experience with Indian food. While some of the items on the menu are great (like the paneer), I was very disappointed with the biryani. The food can also feel very heavy on the stomach (which is not always the case with Indian food) and I wish they considered that in their preparation.

I did enjoy the afternoon tea. The food and portions were appropriate, and you are given enough time to eat. There was a Harpist playing, which made the vibe very pleasant. The tea choices paired well, but all are India variety teas. I talked so much about the teas to one of the servers, and he failed to mention the tea blends we wete drinking are up for sale at the front of the restaurant. What a wasted opportunity to make more sales. Pay for valet or park at the bank parking, it's all your choice. Please read the fine print whne making reservation. There is a automatic 20% gratuity added. And a service fee for food and drinks.

Food: This is an Americanized version of Indian food. All of the food that we had was “trimmed down spice” version of Indian food. But I still enjoyed it. Calling this authentic Indian would be a joke. No person who actually had food in India can claim it. I liked the freshness and cooked to perfection meat, well balanced flavors and gravies. And a trimmed down spice makes this a mind blowing delicacy for Westerners. Atmosphere&Service: The place was extremely well maintained and neat. There are only a handful of Indian restaurants in all of houston that are this well maintained. They get 5 star marks on ambience. A perfect place to go with kids and family or date night. Their service was just perfect. The staff was not overly courteous nor under doing it, both of this makes me inconvenient. Their staff don’t completely understand the depth of Indian flavors (which is expected if you are not from India or have Indian roots) but they did offer helpful picks from menu. Bottom line: I liked the place and will visit again to try some highly reviewed dishes.

Went to Kiran’s a few months back and ordered Garlic Naan with dinner. My past 2 experiences at Kiran’s had undercooked garlic naan. I made sure to inform the waiter about the quality and taste of the garlic naan. When it came out tasted the same. This time I decided to ask for Chef Kiran to talk to her about my dissatisfaction. Instead the restaurant Manager came out. He tried to make an excuse that it is supposed to be undercooked. Then he apologized and went back to the waiter and made a snide remark. When the bill came , there was no adjustment or anything. I have since at at 3 other restaurants and ordered the garlic naan which has outscored Kiran’s. This restaurant needs to take a lesson from others.

I've been dining at Kiran's for 20 years (since way back at the former location), and I have never left disappointed. I am a vegetarian, and although Kiran's menu includes meat, she always works with me to make sure I'm satisfied. She's just like that. Treats her customers that way. Her kitchen is also vegetarian friendly, meaning that she does not cross-mix cooking tools and surfaces. The quality of the food is excellent. It can vary slightly, but it's always very good to excellent. Don't be afraid to try the multi-course tasting menus and chef's choices. You won't regret it. The description calls this food "fusion" but there are many traditional choices too. If you want Dal Makhani with Naan, you can get that. Onion Pakoda? No problem. The dining room itself is comfortable. Nice without being stuffy. It CAN get a little noisy during peak hours. Service is also uniformly professional without being pressing or stiff. Finally, the prices are a bit on the high side, but you're paying for more than just FOOD. It's the entire experience that keeps you coming back. Houston is a big city, and there are more EXPENSIVE and newer Indian restaurants, but this remains, after many years, my favorite, consistent Indian option.

Our experience at Kiran's for my in-laws' anniversary was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the delightful ambience and warmly welcomed by the attentive staff. They accommodated my request for a special surprise – a beautifully crafted hazelnut cake from the menu with a heartfelt message for my in-laws. As for the food, every dish was a culinary delight. We savored the Fungi, a delectable Indian twist of pizza on a naan, while the Chilli Tikka Paneer offered a burst of flavors that pleased our palates. The Lamb Sheek Kabob and Chicken Malai Kabab were nothing short of exceptional, each bite bursting with succulent goodness. And let's not forget the Lamb Biryani, it’s not the traditional Hyderabadi style, yet rich in flavor with the perfect balance of nuts, cashews, and raisins. Overall, Kiran's undoubtedly ranks among the best restaurants in Houston, offering not just incredible food, but also an unforgettable dining experience. I visited this restaurant twice, and both times, I found the food to be mediocre and not worth the hype it receives. Dinner was okay but definitely not fine dining. The afternoon tea was a total ripoff; I can make better "chai" at home. Furniture and decor old and outdated. While the staff worked hard and deserved their tips, my experiences were marred by the behavior of the owner, Kiran. During both visits, Kiran stopped at several tables to greet customers but noticeably skipped over those of "desi" people, which I found to be quite racist. But, it’s a big bummer & OVERPRICED. The same food with better quality can be found somewhere else as well with an average price. I’ve no Idea why their food is so Costly, I mean they obviously don’t serve actual authentic food, it’s just may be they’ve watched few videos from YouTube & have chef follow that recipe. Sorry, I don’t wanna sound rude but please focus on the quality of food instead of making your restaurant look fancy. Talking about service; our server was MR. Narayan & he was doing a great job. This place had been recommended to us by several people, so we decided to trek up into Houston today for a corporate lunch. We are glad we did as this is by far the best Indian restaurant in Houston, and likely a top 5 restaurant in general. Our waiter, Hamrit was the epitome of what it means to be the best in customer service. He anticipated our desires, he made excellent recommendations in terms of pairings of foods and drinks, as well as portion sizes to be shared. He was extremely friendly, knowledgable about everything Indian. We were also met by one of the co-owners of the establishment who introduced herself (Puja) who was extremely friendly, warm and inviting. They really went above and beyond for customer service. The food and drink is beyond description. They really know how to pair ingredients for maximum utility and flavor, and their presentation was exquisite across the board. A cherry on top was the ambiance and the life harpist they had playing which made for a very soothing dining experience. This is a place we don't mind dropping some serious money on as everything was top notch. They gave us an experience, which is how dining out should be.

Absolutely love it here. We come in from San Antonio and have visited twice. So far, you can’t go wrong with anything we’ve tried and service is good as well. Pricey, but worth it.

We absolutely adore this place! Our monthly visits are a highlight, thanks to Maria's incredible hospitality and service and her delightful daughter's warm welcome as hostess. While all the staff members are fantastic, Maria holds a special place in our hearts from previous dining experiences. The cuisine here is truly unparalleled, surpassing even our experiences in India. For me, the JAHANGIR Lassi (spiked Lassi) steals the show – a delightful blend of rum, passion fruit, mango, topped with shaved pistachios. Each samosa is a culinary masterpiece, showcasing unique flavors and my faves are the mushroom and feta, and potato and nuts. My folks swear by the lamb shank but I still always get the Chicken Tikka Masala it's so great. Lastly, their sinfully delicious desserts are all incredible.

Kiran's does not accept Discover. Yet I only learned this fact after consuming an expensive dinner. This review is about how management treated me when they found out I had a Discover credit card. After the waiter told me they don't take Discover credit cards, he invited the manager to explain further. I told the manager I would have appreciated it if there was a sign at entry (there's an elaborate dress code sign) warning customers of this. I would have gone on to another diner instead of deal with this. He laughed off my concerns, said they've never taken Discover in their 23 years of existence and they never run into problems with customers. I went around the corner to an atm machine that didn't accept my discover debit and we finally settled on venmo. But I wish he just showed more empathy when he initially found out about my situation.

A upscale indian restaurant that is Halal. Good for a date or a anniversary. The ambience is good and the service is good as well. I liked the food but i do feel like you can get food near this level for cheaper than this place. I would recommend the vindaloo.

This is a fine dining Indian restaurant. The food is very tasteful and you can't go wrong with almost anything on the menu. Bc it is fine dining, it is expensive but that's known. Regarding food though, I will add that the breads were disappointing. The Naan did not look nor taste like it was cooked in a tandoor oven. The paratha ans roti were also chewy. I would not order bread again and instead stick to rice w all the yummy vegetables. The only reason I give this restaurant a 4 star is bc of what we/my family has witnessed multiple times. The owner (who is the chef) takes time to stop by tables to speak to the patrons. You don't find this often so it's a great touch to have the owner and the head chef stop by and check in on you. However, she never stopped by our table or the table next to us. Even though she patiently checked in on all the other tables around her. The only difference between those tables and 2 she didn't stop at was that the 2 tables were south Asian customers. I thought this was just a fluke but my family that has been there twice before have said they have seen it happen every time. Regardless of race or color, every customer is paying the same price and there bc the food is good. They should be treated equally and deserve the respect of the ower and chef.

Totally delicious food in a very refined, well-appointed dining room with excellent service. The folks I was with were not especial fans of Indian food but still loved everything. Definitely try it if you're thinking about it at all.

Kirans is the most majestic fusion of Indian cuisine you will find in Houston. Their dishes are always innovative, daring, and delicious! The specialty courses are a treat. They have plenty of veg and non veg options, and there are many choices of all spice levels. All of the breads are great. Masala chai is a highlight as well. Rack of lamb special was spectacular! You won't be dissapointed. The service is unparalleled.

This is a review in regards to service, unfortunately we never got to try the food. My husband and I came out to celebrate Valentine’s Day one day early and made reservations for 7:45pm. Granted, we arrived approximately 7 minutes late and there were no tables available. We were notified that they’re waiting for tables to be cleaned and we were able to be seated at 8:20pm, no biggie, we’re patient people. The unfortunate part was when we were seated, we were given our water and then our server came over to ask us if we wanted anything to drink. After declining any drinks my husband stated we were ready to order. The server asked us to give him a moment and he proceeded to go to the table next to us to pour them wine and have a conversation for about 3-4 minutes. It wasn’t until we stood up and headed toward the exit that our server jumped in front of us to let us know he will serve us. After politely declining, he tried to offer us free dessert and said he would serve us. This was not a situation on trying to get anything free. We stated we would prefer good service and the experience of good food. This is our first Valentine’s Day as newlyweds and my husband kept this restaurant and reservation as a surprise after hearing a raving review from a friend. No matter the occasion or reason to visit, I would hope that all customers are served with the same attentiveness as other customers. This was my experience, I hope that you have a better one if you’ve read this and decide to try them.

Superb service, atmosphere, and food. I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo, rice, garlic nan, and a side of mint chutney. The vindaloo was perfectly spicy with flavor elements that delighted my taste buds with each bite. It was absolutely delicious! Also, the Mint Chutney was the creamiest chutney I have ever eaten. Kiran’s offers fantastic food and a truly elegant experience.

Tonight, my partner and I had the pleasure of dining at Karin's, an Indian restaurant that has set a new benchmark for what we consider exceptional Indian cuisine. From the moment we were seated, our waiter, Sage, took it upon himself to ensure our dining experience was nothing short of spectacular. Sage's passion for the restaurant's offerings was evident as he curated a three-course meal that was a feast not just for our taste buds but for our souls. We started our culinary journey with a chaat appetizer that was an absolute flavor bomb - it quite literally blew our minds. The explosion of tastes and textures was unlike anything we've had before, setting a high bar for the rest of the meal. And, oh, did the rest of the meal deliver! For our mains, the lamb was cooked to perfection - tender, flavorful, and just falling off the bone, while the shrimp had the perfect char to it, adding a smoky depth that complemented the spices beautifully. Each dish was a testament to the chef's mastery over Indian cuisine, balancing traditional flavors with a modern twist. The dessert, sweet and unique, was the perfect end to our meal. It was unlike any Indian dessert we've had before, leaving us with a lasting impression of Karin's innovative approach to traditional dishes. Our dining experience at Karin's, guided by Sage's impeccable service and the kitchen's culinary prowess, was truly exceptional. It's rare to find a place that not only meets but exceeds expectations, and Karin's has done just that. For anyone looking for an authentic, flavorful, and genuinely unforgettable Indian dining experience in Houston, look no further than Karin's. A solid 5-star experience that we cannot recommend enough!

There’s not enough words to describe how marvelous this restaurant is. The environment and atmosphere are stunning and detail is handled to the infinite degree. My dinner was such a remarkable and exciting experience, Pedro my server was so quick to assist and so polite and light hearted. I’d come back here 100 more times if I could. The food was astonishing and the management team is beyond dialed in. This is truly a 5 star experience
