Awesome food (best biscuits & gravy)

So Happy to see this place doing so well! Great service always! Welcoming atmosphere! Their crew really works together! We were never without drinks! I seen their struggle from the beginning and now looks like they are smooth sailing! Very reasonable price! As a reminder we are all suffering from inflation even these small businesses! I had Huevos Rancheros Xmas and I decided red over green if I really had to choose but choosing Xmas gives you option to create your own opinion! Clapping for this business! Keep up the Great work👏

Servers were nice, food not so good. Salad was a old and steak was not good. Under seasoned also the tartar sauce packs were old. The dessert case looked good, but with the other food not so great I wasn't going to order any. The refresher drinks looked like they might be good. We love the town.

Traveling home to NM and this was the first stop to eat. Did not disappoint 🙌

Vintage diner with a huge menu including omelets, breakfast burritos, burgers, salads, southwest, and sandwiches. So many good things it was hard to choose! Food was great and service was great. Nice little hometown diner.

Would highly recommend stopping in for breakfast! The Tucumcari Mountain Taters dish was AMAZING, and is definitely big enough to share. Felt a little bit judged when we ordered a second whole breakfast meal in addition to the literal MOUNTAIN of hash browns, but everything was delicious. The sausage gravy on the biscuits was excellent, eggs were great, and the pancakes and French toast were wonderful. I got a caramel mocha flavored frozen coffee and my partner got a vanilla coconut iced espresso, both were delicious. Very happy with the decision to go here for breakfast!

Had the burger and it was awesome. Great 50's style cafe with great looking dessert. Next time I'm going to try the Chile.

I'd give it minus 1 if possible! Service was awful, attitude of our server was"oh will we are busy" when I asked for the roll that was supposed to come with the meal, Then, when I ask about the chips and salsa that were supposed to come with my husband's fajita, she said oh yeah, they're supposed to come with it. Should I get him now?We were done eating. I understand busy and that things take a little time, but I don't understand the attitude and totally just not bringing portions of the meal. I would never go back based on the attitude of the server alone.

The woman serving us was very nice and checked in on us often, even offered us some more coffee with the brewer in hand. Food was good, not my taste as an Asian but definitely would recommend for anyone wanting some traditional/classic American breakfast- eggs/omelet and toast with bacon. Bunch of beverage options too and some nice dessert. I tried the coconut meringue but it was alright, for some reason I was expecting it to be more crunchy/harder like traditional baked meringue but I should've known better. Overall pretty cheap for a new yorker and definitely seems like authentic New Mexican style- esp with the atmosphere. Also some souvenirs you can buy at the store.

What a great little place! We stopped in on our way across country, and it’s a gem of a place. Great atmosphere, and everyone was inviting and friendly. I had breakfast for dinner, and it was so delicious.

A must stop on our way to the Grand Canyon!!! Best food around! Love the french toast and everyone is so nice!

We ate here only because of the good reviews. I gave this a 2 rating because my husband enjoyed his grilled talipia. My fried fish was very thin and over fried - dry and crunchy. Baked potato was very small and not fresh. The salad was very small but it was good. I had to request butter, sour cream and tartar sauce. Paid $31 + $6 tip for a meal that was mediocre. Waitress was young, busy and trying very hard to do a good job. I am OK with the service but not with a bad meal.

Everything about our visit was 5 stars!! Atmosphere was great and our service was absolutely fantastic-thank you, Sam!! We got an enchilada plate, huevos rancheros, and the Tucumcari Taters. The food was fantastic and the owners were so friendly. It is definitely worth the stop!

So glad we briefly got off I-40 to experience a bit of old art deco Tucumcary, NM. Kix 66 restaurant was above and beyond worth the short detour. Best biscuits and gravy since my mom died. Best homemade red salsa (I did all but drink it). Best chocolate and coconut meringue pies ever. I wish I could have tasted more, but these 4 items alone are worth making it a destination stop.

It has everything one would hope for at a Route 66 diner!

I’m so glad this place was open when we checked in across the street. We just really wanted a couple of baked potatoes and some soup and got exactly what we were looking for here. The chicken-mushroom-poblano soup was great too! The staff was super nice and the atmosphere is all you could ask for in a Route 66 diner.

We had a bit of a wait, but the burger and onion rings were good. A drive down 66 is always interesting.

This is my food stop when driving through on 54 or i40. The staff is nice, food is great and made with a smile by Manuel. I get a kick out of sitting at counters in diners so I get lots of options here. Thanks for another fantastic breakfast. I’m stuffed and ready to hit unit road again.

Food was good but atmosphere could of been cleaner. You can tell the restaurant is struggling. Take some time to clean and decorate your facility and you might have more return customers.

Tucumcari mountain taters with chorizo and green chile is AWESOME!

Dive when googled while driving. Friendly service, comfortable booths, slightly older breakfast spot off main drag about a half mile off freeway. Would stop again next trip, but not a destination spot. Usually breakfast stuff, biscuit and gravy (sausage) a good pick.

Had half grilled cheese sandwich Nothing special but good,just plain. Ordered a biscuit and plain gravy to take back to room. Again very plain tasting. Place was a bit dirty for my taste. The pies looked delicious tho. Waitresses were both nice. I did like how they had a lighter menu with many items. I dont eat much so the amount and price was good.

Great breakfast and lunch. We stop on our way through Tucumcari every time.

Probably the best food service and atmosphere that I’ve tried. we came all the way from Florida and are going to the Grand Canyon. and we happend to stop in there to eat. all four of us loved it would recommend. Oh and one more thing the one young girl was our waiter and she did a phenomenal job she was charming funny and really nice.

I'm sitting here and ordered. Then other families came in and ordered. They got there food. I asked about our meals 6 of us and our waitress said its coming. After the people beside me ordered got food then ordered a new meal. I asked their waitress about why our food was taking so long. Our waitress not even helping checking to see what is taking our food an hour. The food was bland. They said they are the only places open on Sunday. I guess besides fast food.

I had a chicken enchilada that seemed to be chicken on a tortilla. Rice and beans were the best part of the meal.

Adding chicken to a salad is about $6; the chicken side is about 2-3 ounces of chicken. Pretty small piece; but that’s what we get with Bidenflation. Service was friendly and nice. Desserts are made in a factory, they look great in the case though.

The food was average. They seemed to care more about the dogs outside the door than the patrons as well as the customer who came in with a dog. It wasn't a very pleasant experience, the shouting and loud talk from the kitchen was quite disturbing.

Really one of the best chocolate milkshake I've ever had. And the food is awesome. New owners are awesome.

Excellent wait staff. Food was expensive for diner fare. Hash browns were undercooked and rubbery. Biscuits were overcooked and dry. Very neat route 66 ambiance. I left with mixed feelings.

Stopped on our way thru town for lunch. Enjoyed the retro interior and the options available for lunch and breakfast. The service was good and the food was excellent. Enjoyed a cheese enchilada with Christmas salsa (red and green). The food didn't crash me later which made my enjoyment of the meal even better. Another member of our party ordered the huevos ranchero and equally enjoyed their meal. We have eaten here in the past for breakfast, and we shall continue to return in the future and refer others to this restaurant.

Wonderful place. Very small town homelike. Our waitress did an excellent job, very fast very attentive. Food was good too. I really only had to battle one battle axe welding bear to get here too so that’s always a plus!

Don't get the huevos rancheros. It's not traditional red chile here in NM. It's gravy with a little bit of chile flakes. Mine was way over salted, causing my blood pressure to go up. I thought while I was eating it maybe some chicken flavor, my ears started ringing checked my fit bit. I told the waitress, still ended up paying. watch out if you have HBP!!! Could put you in the hospital!!!! Danger

Tourist trap with okay food, it was pretty busy when I was there but they were the only thing open in town on a Sunday evening

This cafe' made me so nostalgic for my younger days. I grew up in a small town and remember the regulars hanging out and chatting, while the employees cook and serve great home cooked food. Such a comfortable, relaxed, and welcoming place!

Usually, my husband and I don't stop at a restaurant when we are driving across the country because we have two little dogs, but I was lucky to see the online ad for Kix on 66, and that they have patio seating. We are so glad we stopped! It couldn't have been a nicer experience. Wonderful, attentive waitress....delicious, generous food....reasonably priced, and we had a great conversation with a couple who is following Rt 66 from Chicago to California. The waitress even brought out a pitcher of cold water for our dogs. I wish we would have had room for dessert!

Found this little gem on one of our trips through the area. Stopped for breakfast burritos our first time there and lunch the last time. Burritos were great and filling. For lunch they had burgers half off when we stopped. Plus an extensive dessert cabinet that had so many good looking delectables to choose from. Our server (Taylor) was super sweet and did a fantastic job. Everyone was super friendly and kind. Thank you

This place is fun and funky. Love the atmosphere. The food and service were top notch. Samantha was our server and did a phenomenal job. The Mountain Taters reminded me of a favorite dish I'd get from a long-closed restaurant in my home town. The homemade carrot cake and the lemon berry cake are delicious! Definitely stop in and get your "Kix on Rt 66".

I don't care what anyone says but this place is all in one amazing place hands down, worth it to stop by whether you're stopping in for an amazing meal, a selection of different coffee drinks or maybe some freshly home baked treats. You will not be disappointed.

They charge a 18 percent tip and to me that should be my choice not theirs. We won't go back the food was ok but not worth the extra cost. So if you go in with 7 people split the check.

The outside might be a little old, but it is more than worth the visit. The staff are all very friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. We had a Mexican scramble and breakfast quesadilla and they were both delicious.

If you're traveling and staying at a hotel near the highway, force yourself back in the car for the 5-minute drive to this cute diner. It's so much better than the chains that are close to the hotels. Breakfast all day, huge, tasty burgers, all freshly made. And don't miss the homemade cakes for dessert. The servers are all so personable. Let's help the little guy stay in business! This place is definitely worth it and the prices are great!

This old diner is worth a stop, we love it. We delayed lunch to beyond just so we could make it happen. Their chocolate eruption cake was yummy, burger 1/2 of awesomeness! And just friendly staff all around.

A cute American diner on route 66, good breakfast food, good coffee. Nothing to complain about.

Food always fresh, ingredients locally sourced, and a rotating selection of new specials and soups! Also, their espresso drinks are A++. Staff and Owners both make you feel at home and are very attentive to any customer needs and/or requests.

As a Texas girl, I was apprehensive about the combo plate which comes with an enchilada of your choice, a crispy beef or chicken taco, and a chile relleno. Well, I was pleasantly surprised with the enchilada. It's different from SA enchiladas but it was delicious (I had the cheese enchilada with green sauce). The best food on the plate was hands down the chile relleno. Spicy, cheesy, and delicious.

Would have given it 5 stars if it wasn’t because of a to go charge of 15% plus a regular tip . I never seen a take away charge before . Food was very good and girls working there were great. Cool place to visit while driving through town .

Based on the TripAdvisor reviews this place was worth getting off I-40 for. Super clean. We had breakfast and the food and service were excellent! We highly recommend this restaurant for travelers!

This is literally the best diner in the USA. Get the Americana experience and have yourself the best home grown smoothie 🧡 my lord it’s a total dream. Y’all were so kind and loving to my dog and I. Y’all brought him water and treated us with tenderness. My sister is driving through here tmrw morning and she will be stopping by 🌌 thanx for the hospitality and flavorful affair!

On our way to AZ, we chose to order and pay online (SUPER convenient). Food was ready and hot when we got there. FANTASTIC build your own omelette with green and red sauce on the side. The sauces are not spicy, just a little bit of heat. I preferred the green sauce over the red. Biscuit and gravy were good as well. Cool place on the old Route 66. Would recommend this to anyone who is wanting a “home cooked” meal. Can’t wait to come back again in the future.

Stopped for breakfast early on a Saturday. Seated right away & got coffee. A big menu with a nice section for lighter appetites. Food came out quickly & coffee kept full. Breakfast was excellent. The breakfast tacos were great. The staff worked so well together. If the server was busy others helped out. It was clean & comfortable. Good parking. Would eat here again & would recommend it to others.

Food was great. Our server was kind and attentive. Coffee was a little bland for our taste buds but the food was the important component! We ordered the Biscuit & Sausage Gravy Platter - one biscuit & Tucumcari Mountain Taters. They add peppers in their gravy sauce which is a nice addition and adds a little spice. The homemade sausage patties were terrific. The chorizo Mountain hash is fantastic. Place was clean except the sauces on the table could use a wipe down. And... because I like my coffee, a little stronger coffee flavored coffee would be great. 😊 otherwise, no complaints.

The three egg omelets (Denver omelet ) was great . It a nice little dinner.
