I drove by this place many times and finally decided to check it out and was happy I did. Great selection of sakes and other Japanese beverages!

super friendly and professional. i was there for some sakes for my husband's birthday, and got very helpful and useful advises. There's also namasake!! I will bring my husband to there soon.

Went there today and grabbed a bunch of drinks as well as a can of Orion draft can. I drove by this place a bunch and I'm so so so so happy I finally walked in. I stopped by today and I was so glad I did! Whether you are a Japanese culture aficionado or just a simple Chicagoan looking for a unique drink, K&K is definitely worth checking out. I immediately noticed the store was clean and tidy, and I quickly found myself surrounded by a colorful array of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in all shapes and sizes and types. Everything from sake to wine to beer and everything in between, you'll surely find whatever you are looking for here - even the obscure/niche/exotic stuff you can't find anywhere else. The selection is outstanding and you can tell the owners are genuinely kind people, are very knowledgeable, and are happy to help!

This place is an absolute gem. Great people and a huge selection of Asian alcohols, including Sapporo Black, Sony, sake, and also non alcoholic beverages. They'll do a pour of whiskeys for you too.

This store is the best for their selection of sake and Japanese alcohol in general. Best prices on the Japanese whiskeys that you may struggle to find elsewhere all while having a sake selection that isn't matched besides hmart. Amazing place to stop for drinks or delicious snacks. A must try place especially when they hold pop up events to try other things along with their own great products

We did a private sale tasting here and it was so much fun! Learned a lot and went home with a couple bottles. Highly recommend this place for any of your beer, wine, liquor needs. Also has great Japanese snacks and drinks at a good price.

Great place to find ALL THINGS SAKE 🍶. Only place that carries the most unique variety of SAKE flavors, from sweet to strong variants. Want a sake that's smooth, sweet and flavorful? Joto Umeshu has to be the best and sweetest plum (6months) infused sake I've ever had and has been my go to for years! Staff is very courteous and knowledgeable and you can stop by to chow down on instant ramen 🍜! Just ask for hot water.

Lots of hard to find Japanese whiskeys and a great selection of sake. This is a great place to bring your own food and grab drinks or a sake flight with friends. They even have games for you to play and a selection of Asian snacks. We were gifted a sake-of-the-month club subscription and the last one we picked up included a cute cat carafe and cups set. Highly recommend supporting this small business!

Spacious and fun for the wine tasting event. The options of beer are incredible! I especially liked seeing the gluten-free options. I’m a wine drinker, so I partnered with the owners and one of their distributors to select some wines for a party. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. Must visit. Must patron.

We stopped by for the first time today and it's a fantastic little shop. Love the on-site license and look forward to hanging out and drinking there very soon. We bought a bottle of a sparkling rosé and it tasted exactly as described, they really know their product. The owners are super nice and the ability to purchase individual cans (any cans, not just the old unsold runoff like at other shops) is great. Support small business. Edit: We still love to pop in. It's the best little shop on earth.

Wonderful store with awesome owners! My friends and I have been customers of Konbini & Kanpai for a while now. They have a terrific selection of beer, wine, sake, snacks, and other goods. The owners are friendly and kindly make recommendations based on recent arrivals and their favorite selections. The seating space is great for casual hang outs or for small group events. I highly recommend stopping by, even just for a short visit to pick up a drink or snack!

My buddy took me here for my birthday for a sake tasting. The owner walked us through 3 different types of Sake and explained all the tasting notes. I bought a bottle of my favorite when we left. I have already gone back another time to enjoy a couple of bottles and plays some board games with friends. Super fun place will be going back again and again.

We stumbled upon this place and it is SO FUN - you can drink here and play board games!!! Amazing selection of Asian (and also non-Asian!) beers, wines, spirits, AND non-alcoholic drinks and juices. The drinks were super reasonably priced too. The board games were so fun and the staff were so nice. This is one of Chicago’s hidden gems. Recommend to everyone!

Love this place! Wonderful, ever expanding sake selection. They often have great pop ups from other fantastic Chicago businesses, and have a fun selection of Japanese snacks as well. We've been a part of their sake club for over a year now. The owners are super friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help you find something you'll love to drink!

I went in hoping to find a very specific bottle of Japanese whisky. While they did have the bottle, I was told it wasn’t for sale yet. Despite that disappointment, the store rep walked me through many different selections of both whisky and gin until we came upon a pair of carefully selected bottles. These bottles turned out to be a big success as a Christmas present. I can’t wait to return!

Very cute little liqour shop specializing in Asian liquors but they also carry plenty of other options. Big fan of their sorted beer collection with labels to denote taste profiles. They also do tastings of sake and whiskey and are pretty solid on pricing

We did a whisky tasting here with a small group for a buddy who is getting married. Cannot say enough good things about how cool this shop is, how nice the owners are and the range of whisky we were able to try (along with the expertise to educate us on it). Not for nothing: found parking easily on this stretch of Belmont. Great spot all around!

Absolutely worth the trip into the city to drop into the shop today. I chatted with one of the owners (super nice guy, btw) and he not only directed me to the uncommon style of sake I was looking for, but he also happened to have a sample of it on hand before I bought it. I could only stay for a few minutes, but I really enjoyed my experience. Looking forward to stocking up in the future (they have a really wide selection) and of course checking out of one of their events.

This is my new favorite place to stop by for a drink, great selection and always an amazing experience! Highly recommend stopping by to try some Saki, Beer, and Wine at Konbini & Kanpai! The curated selection is well organized and very reasonably priced. But the BEST part is you’ve got Junjun and Neomi, two of the friendliest owners, who are happy to help you pick out your new favorite and learn about the selection available! There is even a monthly Sake club, which offers up different bottles each month with serving and pairing details! Have to say, I’ve greatly enjoyed each bottle from the monthly selections and learned so much already!

I love this place!! Asian snacks, largest selection of sake (that I know of!), plus the ability to grab a single can of beer/seltzer instead of having to buy a full six pack....count me in. Now when I go to other stores and have to buy the whole pack; I wish I could just click my heels and transport me back to Konbini and Kanpai!

Amazing shop to stop by for all of your beer, wine, sake and Japanese coffee in a can needs! The beer selection is large and well organized so you can find beer by the style. Major bonus that you can buy single cans so you no longer have to commit to a 4 or 6 pack of something you aren’t sure you will like. Owners are very knowledgeable and great at making recommendations. They also host group events to do private tastings which I will definitely be going in soon for!

Fantastic new liquor store specializing in craft beer, wine and sake! Easily the biggest selection of sake I've seen in the city! They also carry a wide variety of seltzers, ciders and CBD drinks! Beer/seltzer/ciders are all available in individual cans so you can mix and match to your liking. You can also purchase one and try any of the aforementioned drinks in-store before taking some home! They also have clubs for their three specialties as well. They do tastings during the week and also have Japanese snacks available to purchase. They also recently highlighted a local Japanese farm and sold their produce. The owners are awesome and very friendly to boot!

Checked out this place on opening weekend and it did not disappoint! I love the fact that you can buy singles of any beer so you can try as many as you want! They had a really good selection of craft beers, ciders, sake, and wine. It’s not just a store it’s also a really cool place to just sit and have your drink right then and there! The staff are also really friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted to try a sake and they recommended a sweet plum sake that I really enjoyed. I’m definitely looking forward to stopping by again soon!

There are numerous different kinds of beers/ ciders/wines all from around the midwest and local areas. Being from michigan i appreciated their michigan beer selection and it made me feel right at home. Owners are very knowledgeable and also asked for recommendations as well.
