I love this place. Me and my partner ate here and we loved the sushi rolls we got. The staff also spent forever trying to help me figure out what anime was playing haha

The tonkatsu tastes like my mom's, but it's unusually expensive ($21 here vs $16 elsewhere). I don't think I'll return.

It’s awesome that this spot is open late into the night however the food was just okay. The nigiri, sushi rolls and tempura were all mediocre however the miso ramen was really good.

We love eating sushi here. We were also pleasantly surprised by such a beautiful presentation! Plus it tasted amazing and price was reasonable. The atmosphere is cozy and they have friendly staff.

Any late night sushi place is going to be worthwhile, but the quality here was much better than expected. Excellent standard rolls, and the hand rolls were great.

The fish seems to be low quality, despite the large size. The eel is very spiny and painful. I got an upset stomach after eating here.

Really good sushi and a surprisingly broad assortment of other foods, amazing service, and open until a ridiculously late time in the evenings. If you're not sure what's still open and you're hungry near Temescal, this is your place, right here. No need to settle for "whatever's open" when you can have amazing sushi and bento until after midnight! Their space is a little weird, they have two storefronts that are kinda joined at the hip. They make it work really well, though! there are TVs, but they usually have something chill on, like a Miyazaki film, and not filled with commercials and blaring. Very chill atmosphere, good place to hang out with friends, be human, and enjoy life. Their tuna tataki and spicy edamame are especially awesome.

Parents and I were in the neighborhood&wanted some Korean bbq. Mom enjoyed her short ribs. We all agreed the Hawaiian Poke and Sea&Land sushi roll was, good, as expected. I also ordered the short ribs dinner which is served with coleslaw, rice, and miso soup. We enjoyed everything for a reasonable price, which also matched a good portion. My short ribs was a little dry but my mom’s was just right. Also, we had a friendly&attentive server. The bathroom was clean. It has graffiti all over the wall as decor. I guess people leave their signatures upon leaving..didn’t care for that but at least it was clean! Ran out of paper towel so we dried our hands with toilet paper.

At this price point, Koryo Sushi is one of the best in the Bay Area! We tried their sushi dinner combo and a few rolls, and were very satisfied with the portion sizes and quality of the fish. Someone here loves Miyazaki films because the whole restaurant is decorated with it. Servers are very attentive and friendly. We asked for recommendations and got some great ones. We'll definitely be back for more!

I had raw flounder raw fish and it was so chewy and delicious. It tasted the same as the one I had in Korea, and they gave me a lot of pretty and delicious sukidashi. Later, we ate a bowl of spicy stew and rice.

Open late ! Wonderful neighborhood sushi fix, fun interior

Late night sushi! Good enough for being open super late. We arrived around 12:40am and they said they are taking last orders though, so don't go too close to 1am. Food was pretty good except their tempura seemed really old and stale, and their scallop nigiri did not taste fresh. I loved the time they put into decorating the place though- one piece, totoro, kikis delivery service, and many more anime related decors can be found. Quite fun!

4 stars as a sushi restaurant but five stars for an Oakland restaurant for other reasons. Affordable Korean sushi. Great price. Great service. The whole live fish Korean style is really the best food there if that's your thing. I've had chopsticks with my name on them for years. Anime always playing on the TVs. Music is hit or miss but they are open to suggestions. Nigiri is really where you'll find the best value. Monk fish liver, ika, and hamachi are my favorites there. I also recommend the Saba, amaebi, tako, and basically everything else on the nigiri list. They rarely have uni even though it's on the menu and there's not really anything special. It's just consistent

Did god come down and make the sushi that was delivered to my table? It was absolutely devine. There was so much flavor packed into every bite of each roll. The hot sake was the perfect compliment to the variety of delicious bites. I wish I could eat here every day. The staff is great. The space is very intimate and has a wonderfully fun anime themed decor.

Me and my hubby's go-to place. Always makes the best sushi 🍣 and friendly customer dine-in service. Love this place ❤️

This place is dope. Open late nights and the staff is friendly. I only show up around midnight so maybe I have a skewed perception of this place. Food is pretty good and prices are in line with bay area. Beer is cheap :)

Chef made a little wasabi snowman for my kid and we turned it into a cigarette smoking bunny, thanks to the delicious ama ebi.

We showed up at midnight, were seated right away, but then no one came to check on us for a really long time. After we made mention of it, they were super apologetic, and someone came to take our order almost immediately afterward. Then the owner came over to apologize again, and offered us free edamame. After we ordered, the waitress came back to let us know that they didn't have one of the sushi rolls we asked for. Then the owner came back out to offer us something comparable, on the house. I truly appreciate the efforts taken to ensure that we enjoyed our experience despite the minor hiccups. The food was really flavorful also.

Bad. First time trying uber eats and enjoying the delivery, I was compelled by the high ratings from this place and bought around $90 of food. As soon as opening the bag, I knew it was going to be terrible. Cheap, cheap, cheap. Cheap, frozen fish. Just the color of the fish told you it was going to be bad - super red, dyed tuna that looked like it had defrosted in a sink. I actually could not eat it because it was so bad - I gave some to my dog.

Pretty solid Japanese - Korean sushi. Prices reasonable compared to other places now, and portions are generous. Would describe it as homemade style food, and spicy items are more Korean level spicy than Japanese spicy (aka they are actually quite spicy). Would return.

It’s just ok. Ordered to go. I’m used to nicely tight wrapped sushi, and bright colors and flavor in the wasabi, tobiko and seaweed. Sushi is loosely wrapped, a little bland in flavor and the rice seemed a couple minutes overdone. Crunchy skin but dry hemachi, dynamite was a little gooey for me, gyoza maki was interesting and crunchy too. Overall ok.

Happy to have finally found a decent local sushi spot. They have an overwhelming amount of rolls to choose from, with some very unique options. All the rolls we got were delicious. The tempura was piping hot, also very tasty. Service was super fast. Only thing that could have been better was the miso soup. It had good flavor, but was served lukewarm. Hoping to come back soon!

One of my favorite restaurants in the East Bay. My roommate and I come here often. The devil ramen is incredible. The staff is always incredibly nice and attentive. 100% recommend.

I enjoy coming here for a very late night light meal and sake bombs. I've also picked up Caviar deliveries from them... and both as a customer and as a driver, they have been very friendly! Update: no more deliveries, but it has become a family night spot to bring our kiddo. (Still enjoy the sake and beer!)

Delicious, stays open till 2 am so it's perfect for us because we fish in the bay till late so it works out for us. Only complaint is, it seems like they rush us to get done. Totally understand because it is late, we will continue to eat here, it is delicious.

Yummy and authentic jjajangmyeon. Prices have gone up throughout the years. Their jambong is good too. I like to get the half and half so can get a bit of both. The dumplings are good too.

This place used to my favorite restaurant in Oakland but sadly price spikes too much in recent years.I heard about commissions added by delivery services so, this restaurant added that commission to customer but they added their own margin as well. Suddenly I see about 30% price hike in the middle of Covid-19. This type of dish is cheap eat in Korea. Though I am in US, I don't really like to pay such high premium for that.

I ordered through Uber Eats but Koryo doesnt accept feedback on orders. So I'm writing this out here. I ordered the Handroll Dinner. Great stuff! Came with Soup and salad. But the one issue I have is with the menu in Uber Eats. In the Maki section, theres an option for masago, tobiko and ikura. I ordered two types since they seemed reasonably priced at around 2 dollars each.... (Maybe it will be a one piece nigiri or something similar.) It wasnt. They literally gave me more eggs in plastic wrap.... I used a little but I didnt want to eat that much. The salmon Handroll was lacking something. It was just salmon on rice wrapped in nori. (Fresh salmon though! Melt in your mouth!) I thought the Cali Handroll was gonna be too much because of how much imitation crab was on it, but it was very creamy and sweet like crab. The spicy tuna and unagi Handrolls were the best! The tuna was very tasty for how much spice was in it! My breathing was very good after that! But they had the audacity to give me the biggest, most tender, and perfectly roasted piece of unagi in an attempt to break mah hart... The nerve! 😚❤❤❤

This place is awesome, one of the best in the East Bay for late night food. Super friendly staff, top notch food and they always have something from studio Ghibli on tv.

I tried their Ja jang noodle and Yanpong and I would recommend the Yanpong if you can eat a bit spicy.

Love this place! Absolutely amazing and the food is amazing. The service was great and attentive. Parking is hard to find during busy times because of the area it is located. The food is definitely worth a little walk. Everything is very delicious!

I’m always here for the Jajang fried rice. It’s simple, “comforty”, and hits your table steaming hot. It also comes with a bowl of spicy soup that’s about two notches higher than my comfort level. Although the Jajang sauce looks like a thick, viscous, black 5W-30 that missed a few 30,000 mile oil changes, it’s absolutely delicious. The shop is not big or fancy but it really does not have to be.

One of my Korean friends brought me to eat here, and I was not disappointed. I will definitely come back here again whenever I’m in the area.

Food were average like any others nothing special, but service is very slow, we came in were seated right away and waited for at least 5 minutes no one came to drop us menu and we tried get their attention several time to get a menu so we can order our meal bc it’s getting late.

I enjoy going to this place to dine in. They have a variety or sushi that makes you taste buds go crazy. My favorites are the cooked sushi. If you like spicy i say try the "spicy volcano". Another cooked roll to try is the dynamite. Im just unpleased with a take out order that i requested. The spicy volcano is usually served with 6 rolls but i only get served 4 rolls and didnt realized it untile i was home. Not happy with that experience, but their food is great

Seems to have gone thorough a renovation so it was nice but portion size has shrink a lot. Prices have gone up but the portion sizes makes us still hungry afterwards.

Sushi was good. But the restaurant is of questionable cleanliness.look no further than the curtain separating the sushi preparation area from the back room. It's literally black on one side. Then, standing right outside the door, are two guys smoking cigarettes. Cigarette smoke is blowing into the restaurant. Service was slow but friendly. I won't be back here.

The services are excellent, the food is amazing, I love The Titanic and sakimaki roll, the inside has a special connection to the culture that I just adore.😊

If you want a fancy place, go elsewhere. The decor is pretty much fast food, but the food quality and value is excellent. Not a great place to bring a date, but a nice place for a family. We'll be coming back again at some point.

The hamachi Kama is the largest portion I've ever seen for the price. Fresh, and flavorful. Just wish they'd yank out the dirty carpets, get rid of the bathroom smell in the back, and clean the place, it's kind of gross looking.

Honestly I think this place is cheaper, cuter, and therefore better than Kansai (popular spot across the street). It's less fancy but I dig it greatly

Temperature hot foods came out in record time but tasted so so, think fast food. Price low, good portions!
