Kostas is a gem in the center of overpriced trendy restaurants. Step back in time with quality and service and a quaint experience with caring attentive staff that doesn't skimp on service or pleasing customers. Full variety of Greek food including fresh fish. Don't overlook the specials inside the foyer, their leg of lamb is the best I have ever had. Smaller restaurant, open tables. Very good for date or anniversary or special occasion. Any difficult questions or changes taken care of immediately by the staff or owner who is on site overseeing the whole operation. Our top Dallas area mediteranean destination! The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management and staff are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend this restaurant.

This was our first time at Kostas and we will be back! Donna was our server and she went above and beyond for us. There was live music and the place has such a cute, quaint atmosphere. The food was incredible and the deserts were even better! We had the Greek combo and it was plenty to split between the two of us.

I don't write this lightly, but this is among the worst greek food I've ever had. $30 for 4 pieces of tough chicken meat resting on a single piece of grilled onion in a watery sauce, and overcooked rice. The chicken was not marinated in anything, just bland grilled chicken. Neither I or my partner were able to eat the soup. They also forgot to send the warm bread for both of our dishes. Maybe they had a bad day at the restaurant, but our meal was terrible.

Kostas Cafe remains a Dallas classic for a reason! They do an excellent job of bringing authentic Greek culture and cuisine all the way to North Texas. The food tastes delicious and they cook everything to perfection. Our group recently ordered take out following a meeting. I didn’t get a picture of everything that we ordered but, we enjoyed it all! I can only provide a limited review of the atmosphere and the service because we ordered pick up but, it was fine. The staff greeted us immediately and we got to watch a Greek dancer and singer while we waited for our order. Overall, I recommend Kostas Cafe!

We’ve lived in Dallas for over 8 years and have yet to find a Greek restaurant that comes close to Kostas’ quality and service. We can always count on Jimmy’s warm and attentive service.

Donna was very inviting and super informative on menu choices. Rosie was ON POINT and extremely helpful. I loved the comfortable and intimate atmosphere. Even had little fresh flowers at each table. The Owner was also very sweet, himself. Definitely a place to bring the family!

This restaurant was recommended by a coworker from Greece. It was so fantastic. Everyone there is very good at their job. Do yourself a favor and just go now... or when they're open would work best. Opa!

So a year ago I wrote a poor but constructive review. It was because I owned a restaurant in London for 18 years and always valued constructive help AND I've been coming to Kostas since 1986. In my review I acknowledged that every restaurant has off nights. I am pleased to say we went back and everything was really good. The food was excellent, the service was quite good and we were very pleased. Thank you Kostas for again providing a most enjoyable evening at a cozy spot that delivers a great experience.

I have been eating at this place since Bill Clinton was President. We rented out the place for my 35th birthday party and it was incredible and very memorable. I am almost retired now and I can state that I will continue to eat here for a few more decades if they are wheelchair friendly when I need one. The owner and staff are very attentive and the food is as close as you get to being in Athens or Santorini. Kudos for the usual fine service my friends!

Great Greek place. Unique dishes that don’t taste like the basic Mediterranean places. Feels very Greek, in a cool dark restaurant. Cannot recommend enough. The dolmas and moussaka were the stars.

Great food, my girlfriend and I enjoyed having Donna as a server. Definitely made us feel comfortable and taken care of. Very helpful to have her guide us through the menu and answer all our questions as first timers. We enjoyed the tasty appetizers and dinner. When I picture a Greek owned business serving Greek food this is what I imagine. The atmosphere was very cozy and from the first step in the door felt welcomed and almost like family. The food was simple greek fare and done perfectly.

The Best Greek Restaurant in DFW!

I have been going to Kosta's for over 25 years. This is my favorite restaurant! The food is homemade, always perfect, and the owner, staff, servers, have been there a long time too, so it feels like visiting family. They remember my name when I walk in the door and know my favorite dish and wine. I visit the Plano location more often because it is close to work.

We walked in and the whole place was packed I knew then it was going to be a really good place and have really good food. It also smelled amazing when you walk in the front door. Donna our waitress was awesome she took care of our every need and we will definitely be coming back and enjoying another experience at this restaurant.

The Spanikopita was fantastic! Got the appetizer. Thought it was going to be small…but I think I could’ve eaten it as a small meal. Got hummus and pita with it. The hummus was way too garlicky for me but I plan on going back for the spanakopita.

The food was absolutely delicious. The flavors took me back to how my grandma used to make moussaka, baklava and more. Hands down the best Greek food restaurant in Dallas in my opinion.

A quaint Greek restaurant that rides the line of quiet fine dining with intermittent partying as they yell "opa" and the room lights up with fireballs from the flaming cheese and all the tables clap. It's a blast. The staff is knowledgeable and professional but also friendly. Our waitress had worked there for over 40 years and was great with recommendations. The food was outstanding. Two of us shared one of the combo platters and an appetizer, but everyone left full. Every dish was the best I had tried. I've never liked dolmas til I had them here. The egg plant lasagna was amazing. The shrimp was grilled perfectly.

This place is a hidden gem. Seemingly unchanged for decades. Great Greek food, excellent service, intimate atmosphere.

Service was unfriendly. Salad was terrible, old lettuce and super salty dressing. Gyro meat was not cooked well. Not sure what was in the Tzatziki sauce but it was like artichoke dip. Atmosphere is outdated and sad. This place used to be good but it’s gone down recently I hate to write bad reviews but I hope it helps this restaurant change some things

In town visiting family and decided to stop by Kostas Cafe after searching for some Greek food. I am originally from tarpon springs, so if it's good enough for me, you know it's going to be good, and the food is just as good as back home. I ordered the Kostas Favorite and everything was on point, the lamb and shrimp was full of flavor and the Greek salad tasted fresh and had a very very good dressing, my waiter was very friendly, formal and attentive, the prices were very reasonable aswell. 10/10 recommend.

A neighborhood gem…cozy, inviting, family-run restaurant with excellent Greek food at a fair price.

I have been coming to Kostas since 1985. And I have always loved it. It’s been cozy, the food has been very savory and authentic, the service has been good, and the music has not been overpowering at all. But my visit tonight was a huge disappointment. The green beans that used to be so savory were very bland. Same with the potatoes. The service, while polite, was very lackadaisical and the Greek music was so loud that you could barely visit with your companion. Loud music is a common problem in restaurants in Dallas that think loud music will create a vibe. Their patrons however, know that the ultimate ambience is to be found in your dinner companions. And of course loud music kills that. My wife and I left and walked out to the car, and both commented how saddened we were if this is the new norm. Kostas needs to spend less time sitting at the table in the corner chatting with his buddies and more time tasting his own food and looking after the patrons. I’ve been in the restaurant business for 18 years and I know there are simply off nights. So will we give it another try? Of course, because we’ve loved it so much through the years. But we’ll only give it one more try, and if it isn’t like the old Kostas, then we’ll start looking elsewhere.

Best greek in Dallas hands down. Dont expect a fancy place but you can expect an excellent full of flavor genuine Greek meal. The Moussaka is excellent, the best I have had in this side of the pond. Have the sampler, absolutely thrilled I found this gem in Dallas.

I visited this beautiful place last week. My family and I have been coming here for years.The atmoshere was great, the food was perect but our waiter was a very big dissapointment We are usually served by our favorite waiter Jimmy. My Mom and the whole family love him , he is always asking us if everything is ok checking on us joking with us and making us feel so at home. I guess he was not there becuse I didnt see him that evening. We walked in and the waiter with the long pony tail I think his name was Jodi just told us to sit anywhwre, there were four of us but we were nit directed were to go, so we sat ourselves. We waited very long for the menus, we got water and bread and againhad to wait for what seemed to long to plave our drink orders. Maybe he was just having a bad day but he didnt look very happy, was very short with us when asked several questions wheb we finally got our meals the plates were pretty much slammed on the table and away he went. He never returned until the meal was over. This is the first time in years, that we felt rushed and unattended. I hope we are never served by him again,We are very reasonable and understand sometimes restaurats are understaffed and very busy but this was on a Monday evening and quite slow! I hope Jimmy is still working thereand we will definately return. There seemed to be a new waitress there as well we have not seen before.

Best Greek food I have ever had! Service was great, our waiter was very friendly and went above and beyond taking care of us. To top it off I love the atmosphere, it feels very comfortable and romantic. Great spot for anything from lunch, a casual dinner, to a date night.

This is by far my most favourite restaurant I have eaten at. It’s a classic, family-owned, humble yet beautiful Greek restaurant. I had the moussaka, and it was so delicious. The waiter was very kind and spoke in a formal manner; nothing I have seen in any other restaurant before. My entire family loved the food as well. I highly recommend to eat here, as you most likely will enjoy both the food and the environment as well.

Love the music and the little candle light, owner and host are very greeting. The food is so yummy. This place makes me feel relaxed.

Wonderful place for lunch - get there early as others agree with me. My wife and I went Monday about 11 - we started with tzatziki (6) with nice soft pita, then I had the spanakopita (14) and she had the mousaka (17). Both came with Greek salad, potatoes, and green beans - great taste, great portions. We finished with baklava (4) and coffee (3). A relaxing environment with terrific food - great staff. I'll be back a lot.

Watch your credit / debit card amounts when you leave. Especially during lunch. I tipped in CASH yet my $10 bill became $20 when I looked on my bank statement. 😡 The owner eventually returned my $10 but why is this even happening?? I've been coming here for years so hopefully this is the FIRST and LAST time this happens. SN: It was an older Caucasian gentleman that took my TO GO lunch order.

This a a family style restaurant with great and friendly service. The food is great, nothing too complex but very well done. Pricing is great for what you get. Nice simple ambiance, not too loud. Definitely will return.

I hadn’t been to Kosta cafe in awhile but had good memories of great food and service when celebrating with groups of 10 or 15 people. Last night we made reservations for 6:30. We ordered the $64 meal for two. We were so disappointed when almost every course was served room temperature or lukewarm. The flambé cheese was the only course served at the proper temperature. Perhaps they were short of servers. Ours was very friendly and tried her best but was clearly overwhelmed.
