Krista's has a TON of hype. It's known as one of the best in Maine. I unfortunately thought it was just OK. My food was overly salty, and my prime rib was very chewy. Margherita pizza nom nom: OK Stuffed Mushrooms: OK Garden Salad: Great Prime Rib: Very chewy - but great flavor. I wont return. But it has a great atmosphere and I wish them the best

This place is loud and busy at lunch time anyway! And that is a product of how good it is. Everyone seems to come here! I had the hummus wrap which was fantastic and very big! I don't recall what my wife had but she finished it and loved it. We'll be stopping here anytime we're in Maine.

Krista's never disappoints. I've been a few times for lunch and dinner. Very nice staff and tasty food. The dessert tray always gets me :) Looking forward to our next visit!

WOW!! Amazing delicious fare in generous portions, prettily plated and served by attentive and pleasant people. Only downside is the inside can be noisy with all the conversation.

I really looked forward to going to Kristas but I'm sorry to say it didn't stand up to the reviews. The place is pleasant and the staff are good but the food let it down. The clams were over cooked. The chicken in my pasta dish was dry and over cooked. The sauce was far too salty. My lemonade was really flavoured water. Maybe I went on a bad day but certainly didn't live up to my expectations

The best option in town while we visited friends. Great meal at the bar with creative drinks and yummy American dishes. I loved the atmosphere and vintage style decor. Try to call ahead, it seems they are always packed. Also, would have loved to do breakfast here but they didn’t open til 11:30

Me and my mom love Krista’s. Everytime I visit her we make a reservation. The Irish coffee is excellent I get it everytime along with the prime rib. Meat is always cooked to perfection and the salad they bring beforehand is so good! Only thing I can say is the mashed potatoes were too salty this time. Great service from Kathy.

After waiting for almost 2 hours for our meal, we decided to leave. The table next to ours was seated 30 minutes after us and served before us. We always had good service in the past and have enjoyed the food but this was totally unacceptable. We were offered 1 comp drink to stay. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

Went for lunch and had a killer cocktail and the biggest most delicious salad. Topped off with a luscious slice of oreo cake.

Krista's is definitely one of my favorite restaurants! The ingredients used in their recipies are definitely fresh and flavorful! Your taste buds will thank you. I'm also impressed by the plating......beautiful colors and so appealing to the eyes! I live in Portland and once a month, will make the 50 minute ride knowing it'll be worth the drive. Great meal with friends. Our server was friendly and accommodating. I would recommend getting a reservation if you want to sit in the dining room. We enjoyed the lavender cocktail, burger, scallops and pistachio halibut. All were delicious with the scallops just needing a bit more seasoning. Next time we will split meals so we can partake in the dessert. It looked lovely.

Amazing. Everything was perfect. Portions were bigger than they needed to be.

You can always expect a great meal at Krista's. We had the Ruben sandwich with housemade corned beef, fries, and homemade pickles. The large salad with a protein and blackened salmon with rice. The mussles to start. The food was served hot, timely with a good server. We will return soon.

My husband and I stopped here by chance on our way to Waterville Valley NH for a wedding. We have traveled over the United States for 10+years and Krista’s is the best hidden gem restaurant EVER!! When I say my Hummus Wrap sandwich is the very best meal I’ve had in years believe me. I chose to have it on rye instead of wrap. Every bite was delicious. My husband said the same of his blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich. The service was also excellent. Thank you Krista’s. My only wish is “wish you were closer to central Maine. This is my first restaurant review ever.

This place is a hidden gem. The portions are insane and the quality of the food is top notch! I had their poultrygeist sandwich and it is one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had, the sauces they have on offer from what I can tell are outstanding. I got the Jamaican jerk and I ate it until it hurt. Definitely going back when I'm in the area

This lovely little place off the beaten path really took us by surprise. It was the perfect combonation of creative cuisine and comfort food. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was nothing short of incredible. I highly reccomend Kristas for high-end casual dining in a cozy and intimate atmosphere.

One of our favorite restauraunts. We were here for my birthday and it didn't disappoint. The portion sizes are exceptionally large. The rotating specials keep things interesting. Come with an appetite.

Very disappointed. Always been A+ but today terrible. Steak burrito was drowned in sour cream, terrible steak. Reuben awful dry. Seated more like stuffed in between people and a wall. Never was asked how food was just taken away. Our neighbor complained about the burrito and got his for free. Too bad. Wa

Love the small town of Cornish.We made a day to to visit the stores and Kristas Restaurant.This was the second time we have eaten here.It did not disappoint! The service was excellent! The wait staff is always hustling and on point!Our table of 6 each had a different lunch sandwich.They were huge and delicious. Foccica (sp) bread was so yummy and tender.The salmon salad was great salmon cooked exactly as it was ordered.Oh yes the cocktails and desserts we very good!Take a drive enjoy the country side and enjoy the beautiful little town of Cornish.

Stopped by for lunch with my mother after a glowing recommendation from the GM of the Wakefield Inn, and we were not disappointed. 10/10 service from our server, Andrew! Great personality, and he was patient with us while we were undecided about our appetizer. Our app and meals were HUGE, absolutely delicious, and well worth their price. I got the Marinated Roast Beast sandwich on a bulkie, and my mother got the Pesto Chicken sandwich on focaccia. The desserts sounded amazing, but we were just way too full, so we are using that as an added reason to go back and visit - as if we didn't already have enough reasons!

Amazing restaurant!! Great food, drinks, service, and atmosphere. I cannot say enough good things about this place. They know how to give you a 5 star restaurant experience without spending a fortune on dinner. If you are in 100 miles of this restaurant, it is definitely worth the drive. You will not be disappointed.

I had heard a lot of good things about this place and it lived up to the hype. The food was very good and they give you generous portions. The staff was courteous and helpful. Prices are fair given the quality and quantity of food. The atmosphere was nice and had a cozy feel. I will definitely be back, lots to try still.

I have been waiting to go here for years, and wow do I regret waiting! The service is immaculate. It’s a quaint and comfortable atmosphere with incredible food & drinks. We only went for lunch, but I cannot wait to get dinner there. The Brussels sprouts app is fantastic and the burger is phenomenal.

This family really cares about you having a fantastic time here! I'd compare Chef Mike to any chef out there and I've eaten at some really great restaurants all over this country. Brought friends that are already planning to come back!

What a great meal! Hearty portions of excellent comfort food. The staff are friendly and attentive, had great recommendations as well. We look forward to coming back!

I took the birthday boy out for dinner (yesterday) at this absolutely amazing (new to us)restaurant just 30 minutes from home in Cornish Maine. We made reservations for 4pm (they were suggested). Inside we were the only people eating other than a few people at the bar. Very inviting place. Our waitress Mildred was very pleasant and attentive. We started with an appetizer of oven seared bacon wrapped scallops with a maple glaze. These were huge and super tender. Cut them with a butter knife and they melted in your mouth. Then came the house salad of fresh spring greens, dried cranberries (not craisins), sliced almonds and crispy handmade onions on top with their balsamic vinegarette dressing. Also arriving was their freshly made bread, which was sort of like a focaccia. So much flavor. Our main course was locally sourced 9oz beef tenderloin topped with their steak sauce and crispy onions served over a bacon-cheddar potato cake with lightly seasoned summer squash, asparagus, carrot and broccoli. Hubby said that this was the most amazing tenderloin so so tender, which you probably could have cut it with a butter knife. My dinner was the pistachio haddock. This haddock came oven roasted with a pistachio crust and lemon aioli sauce served on a lemongrass basmati rice. I have never had such amazing haddock. The vegetables were the same as on the tenderloin. This chef really knows how to cook to appease all the flavor buds. The presentation of the meal was almost too pretty to eat. We ended the meal with little dessert cups. One being banana cream tart and the other a heath bar cheese cake. Both had a nice graham cracker crust with the taste of just slightly caramelized butter mixed in. Krista's Restaurant has now become a favorite place for us to eat.

Krista’s food is wonderful, but the people and the service really make the visit memorable. These are just great folks with a great selection of good food. We’d been coming for years until Covid, and were so delighted with our recent visit. Can’t wait to go back!

I’ve barely made it out the door and have to share how incredible this little hole in the wall place was. Four of us picked this place on a whim in hopes of finding a new place to enjoy a birthday meal. We settled on a late lunch/ early dinner so we arrived around 3:30 and there wasn’t a whole lot going on yet. We ordered bacon wrapped scallops and a salad to start. The salad portion was huge and maple sour cream was a perfect pair for the scallops. For our entrees we got the Rachel, a prime rib dinner, pistachio haddock and tonight’s special- raviolis with meatballs in a mushroom and sage cream sauce. I can’t remember the last time every single item came out this incredible. We ended the night with their housemate peanut butter cheesecake. Honestly, wow. The food was absolutely incredible and our server, Mildred, was fantastic as well. She was more than attentive and we didn’t ever go without. So glad we branched out to try something new!

Train wreck, start to finish. I could go into excruciating detail about the food quality, but I'll spare you to gory details. I'm not understanding the complete disconnect between our experience and the ratings, but no joke - these were terrible meals. We don't mind paying elevated prices for well crafted, appetizing fare, but these meals were slapped together, distasteful and unappealing. Combine this with high prices, and value here is non-existent. We are lucky here in the Portland area to have a wide variety of great restaurants to choose from, and we were really looking forward to trying Krista's, based on these ratings. We were, obviously, disappointed.

We had the spring rolls, burrito, short rib gnocchi and chicken saltimbocca. Everything was excellent, drinks were great too! Loved that they come around with a platter of desserts to show you what they have to offer, it definitely sold us to get one.

Our family enjoyed lunch. We had soups, salads, burgers, quesadillas, and many more excellent meals. The taste was great and portions were large. We tried five different desert, and looks like enjoyed them all. The service was mostly nice, BUT at one point we felt very uncomfortable when one of our waitresses (they changed) asked us if we wanted to wrap it up. It was so obvious that one of us had to tell him to please back off as we were still eating, and were about to order deserts. We spent less than 2hrs. Overall, it would be place to return if it was not for their “hurry” request.

We enjoyed a birthday dinner at Kristas last evening with a very special couple. This restaurant has always been excellent, but last night they surpassed that even. From the cocktail to the dessert, perfection. Have never had better, or as good, anywhere. Very special spot ! Thank you for maintaining such superior quality.

We just love going here. It's fantastic every time. People that work there are great and it's just a really cool atmosphere. Sometimes it can be a little loud, but whatever it's worth it. Can't blame people for being excited to be there! My favorite regular menu item is the poultry geist sandwich. I do enjoy the specials though from time to time. Someday I want to go there just for dessert because I never have any room to have any by the time I'm done eating my meal. As for pricing, you can spend 20 bucks per person or you can spend 50 per person depending on what you get.

Had Thanksgiving dinner there and everything was fantastic.

I'm a local to the area. I really like this place but lately the menu has been really odd. Just this evening I hade the Scallops . I love scallops ,one of my favorite go to meals . However these where so odd . The meal was spinach on top with rice and Quinoa , scallops with a curry sauce. Supposed to be with beets but I said no to that . Really? Who the hell came up with this . Curry and scallops? .. 35 bucks for that Menagerie of culinary ignorance. Oh and it was weirdly bitter / Ammonia tasting, almost like they used an Accelerate fluid on the scallops. Absolutely awful meal . Thankfully the waitress was so professional and kind in the situation. She was really good about the whole thing . Props to her , I always feel in any restaurant the serving staff get the short end of the stick so I'm extra kind to them regardless of how bad or good my meal is . The good thing about this meal was the lamb chops starter and the salad. Absolutely fantastic 👏. I just hope they stop putting curry on scallops for heavens sake .. please just be Suttle and let the ingredients speak for themselves. .

Love this place, was driving by on the way home from a hike and decided to stop in. Hostess said normally need to make a reservation and they are full, but offered to let us sit to the side on a very comfortable couch and have a drink while waiting to see if a few bar stools would open up. After a drink and appetizer two bar seats opened up and I had a very good prime rib dinner. Home made bread was another added bonus. Every single staff member was exceptional, friendly and caring. Will def be back.

This restaurant is my absolute favorite place to go for a ribeye or New York strip. They are cooked to perfection every time I've been there. The quality and service is always consistent. You owe it to yourself to try this one out.

We're in town for a wake. ☹️, After the wake, I use Google to look up "cool places to eat nearby"😎. Google was right. The staff was awesome, the food was fabulous great proportions. I even picked up a pound of coffee for me to take home after I had the coffee with my meal. I'm so glad we stopped.

Krista’s was an accidental find but boy were we glad to stumble upon this amazing restaurant! Wonderful service, cute ambiance, and huge portions! We had the ruban sandwich, the huge Krista’s salad (pictured), and the signature chocolate cake. It was the best dessert of the trip! Add this one to your visit!

Love the atmosphere here, and they have great coffee. The food is good, portions are huge, they don't do breakfast but it's a great spot for lunch. Great place to bring the family.

Best restaurant I've been to in a while.

Krista's is amazing! We had our rehearsal dinner here and they worked with us to have exactly what we wanted. We had wines and appetizers on the table when we got there and then everyone ordered what they wanted. Everyone was saying how incredible the food was. We also had them make us some cakes and they were such a hit. The applesauce spiced cake (a fall seasonal cake they do) was noted as the best cake ever by many. The only thing worth nothing was we had a reservation and had to wait 30 minutes before we could sit but the food was so good that no one was upset.

Delicious food and amazing service. I left my credit card and to-go box behind and they stored both and remembered me when I walked back in the door.

Krista's is the best! Excellent food with huge portions, which are more easily shared and usually leave with a doggie bag. The beer and drink selection are also fun and tasty. If you are in the area, stop in for lunch or dinner. It is usually a very busy place so be prepared.

I've always had a wonderful experience here, but in the past few years I'm really not sure what's happened. Maybe it's become a popular spot for tourist in Cornish because they really only have like two other restaurants to compete with. Over four times now my friends and family, including myself have been treated so poorly. For years we have been regulars, but we won't be going back. It was once was such a friendly place with a decent menu and comfortable atmosphere. If you show up on a weekend they are so overjoyed to tell you there isn't any room. This is at 2:30. This goes on all summer into October. You'll have to make a reservation. I understand this, but it's the way the staff treats you. There is no reason why you have to be such ignorant backward people representing this establishment. You're the first impression someone gets when they walk in. Believe me I've heard the same feedback from others. When all that's left are the locals I think it might serve you better to remember how you treat them.

We are locals who eat at Krista’s regularly. Last night we had a key fob mishap and were trying to figure out how we’d get home. The great staff spread the word and one of the bartenders gave my wife a ride home to grab the key. Great food, amazing staff! Kristas for life 🤘🏻👊🏻!!!

Staff goes above and beyond for customers. Food is outstanding, with local produce and in house ridiculously delicious desserts. Highly recommend Bibb salad w scallops. It’s hard to perfectly cook a scallop, yet all the ones I have eaten there are such. You need to go to Krista’s.

My food was out quick, the portions were big and the staff was all very friendly. The prices were good for sandwiches and burgers and i heard the prime rib is also good. Wish we had place like this back home. Reuben was the bomb and they made a tasty tom collins

This restaurant is a hidden gem in the town of Cornish. The food and service is wonderful. We are never disappointed when dining here. If my family has something to celebrate we always go to Krista's.

We are exploring Maine and happened upon this charming town. Luckily we also decided to eat lunch at Krista’s. I had the butternut apple bisque and my husband had the chicken Caesar wrap. They were both delish. He said it was the best food since we left on vacation. And Grammy’s chocolate cake. Unbelievable.

A beautiful drive from Portland to this quaint village full of arts and crafts . About 50 minute drive. The Krista restaurant is lovely inside and has a massive menu of great, fresh fare. Portions are quite large and easily shared if wanted . Prices are very reasonable and service was, fast efficient and friendly. Lunch time was about a 15 minute wait but by 1.00 pm it had open tables . Highly recommended if you are in that neck of down east Mainr

I had the best meal that I've ever had in Maine or New Hamshire here. EVERY component of the meal was properly prepared, exceptionally tastfull, visually attractive, and well matched. I had the prime rob, perfect medium rare as order, every part of the vegetable medley was perfect, as were the mashed potato & Gravy. My partner had the pork ribs roast, and that also was tasty & every component was prepared perfectly. This was the most perfect meal I've had in years. We started with home make foccacia bread and a great salad made with rocket lettuce, fried shallots, cran raisens & sliced almonds - well balanced & delicious. Service at the bar was very friendly & professional. Food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I had last eaten here about 4 years ago for lunch, but a full meal is where it excels, and I'll be back here soon. There are many interesting items on themenu.

We’ve been going to Krista’s for years and with good reason. The food is amazing with huge portions. The staff is the nicest group of folks you’ll ever meet and excellent at their jobs. If you’re ever in Cornish you have to stop in and enjoy this wonderful restaurant.

This time it was just about take out but the Reuben Sandwich was awesome, neatly packed along with great sweet potato fries and coleslaw.

This time around, I had the pear martini and one of the day's specials, the French Dip sandwich on a toasted sub roll with a side of fries. Everything was delicious, although the roast beef was a little too salty. I was going to try a new restaurant for a change, but Krista's is always too tempting to pass up.

This place is a gem. Reservations are needed. Food was fantastic. Excellent selection of wine and fun cocktails. Our waiter was top notch. The only issue we had was when someone came to check on us after dinner and although they did not come right out and say it, needed the table for another reservation. We had just ordered dessert and it hadn't arrived. When the waiter brought us our dessert, we checked with him to see if we needed to finish at the bar so they could have the table. He assured us that was not the case. We finished dessert and were waiting for our check when again the same girl came to our table that basically wanted us to leave so they could turn the table. So that was twice we were made to feel like we needed to leave. We paid the bill when it arrived and left. I can understand the need to turn the tables since there is limited seating but to be honest it put a decidedly sour ending to our wonderful dinner.
