I have been eating here since they first opened years ago. And while I never dine in, cause I take my food home. I have never had a bad experience ever. The food is always wonderful & delicious. I've had just about everything on the menu, but the spicy pork belly is my absolute favorite. The dressing for the Thai salad is also perfect.

I got the basil hot fried rice here and it was so so good! It heated up very well for leftovers, too. The staff are young and learning but friendly and doing their best, and the atmosphere is really cool. They even have a vault since it used to be a bank! Overall really cool place that adds flavor to Dallastown. Also the Thai iced tea is delicious!

Great little place tucked away in an old bank in Dallastown. The big bank vault creates a unique atmosphere. Went with my parents. They do not like hot/spicy food. The owner was very accommodating and made sure nothing was spicy. Here is what we had: spring rolls (10 / 10), bubble tea (9 /10), me hungry (9.5 / 10), pork garlic (9.5 / 10), shrimp pad Thai (10 / 10), fried bananas with ice cream (9.5 / 10). Very satisfied with the delicious / healthy food. We will be back!

Great Thai food and friendly staff. Offers variety of spice level depending on your preference. Unique eat-in experience with the restaurant located in an old bank and the old bank vault door open. Highly recommend for dining in or takeout.

Thai is one of my favorite foods I eat on a weekly basis. I wanted to like this place to support small and local, but I tried multiple dishes from here and all 3 were not good. The portion sizes are all small and overpriced for the lack of quality. I would give them 1 star based on their food, while other places in York have 5 star food with larger portions, great flavor and lots of fresh veggies. I paid $20 for seafood Pad Thai and the seafood was either overcooked and rubbery or mushy with no flavor and there were very little veggies that were also not fresh even after I ordered extra veggies. Their Panang Curry was watery with little flavor and the chicken was overcooked. Drunken noodles are my favorite Thai dish and I wouldn't even order that again from here. I only gave them 2 stars not 1 because the atmosphere/decor is well done and the people are nice... Tho the guy there goes on and on about things I do not want to hear about and it makes me uncomfortable every time, especially when I'm just trying to pick up quickly.

Do not order the steak drunken noodle. Supposed to come with basil sauce but came with brown sauce. Fried egg omitted. The steak was the most uninspiring slab of meat I've ever eaten- you'd be happier with the patty off a McRib.

3 star for service goes to the guy who told me I forgot my car keys on the counter. Food is despicable, has nothing to do with authentic Thai cuisine. Spring rolls from Giant sushi section look much more appealing and yummy than what I got. Cashew noodles with duck had no cashews, neither the duck breast had any juiciness, taste or desire to be served on that plate. Upsetting.

Unfortunately, this was, by far, the worst chicken Pad Thai I have ever had. I ordered it carry-out and threw it directly in the garbage. ☹️ Could not see but maybe a centimeter of scallions, no bean sprouts 🌱, barely any chicken, and not much flavor. I even tried to add cilantro but there was no salvaging it. Nice owners! The last 4 times I’ve ordered has not been great at all. Disappointing and I’m still hungry. 😢

Went here on a date for dinner. Nice atmosphere, great and friendly service and delicious and fresh food. Although its maybe a bit pricey, its worth it for the authenticity, freshness, quality, and flavor. I ordered the Duck Tamarind and it was both crispy on the outside yet juicy and delicious on the inside. Not dry at all and not soggy either, just right. It also came with yummy Pad Thai. We also got fried tofu and steamed dumplings, both fresh and very tasty. I definitely reccomend!

With the beautiful decor on the walls, it takes one a second or two to realize there is a big bank vault at the back of the dining room. Apparently, the premises was a bank for decades prior to taking on other commercial uses. I enjoyed the Thai iced tea that came without milk, more refreshing along with the meal. Service was friendly and prompt. The summer rolls were fresh and delicious. My big treat today was pad Thai with crispy duck breast slices. Fortunately, there was a large parking lot off the busy street. Looking forward to trying a Thai salad and some curry next time.

Takeout experience: I am unsure whether I want to go back to this place. The location is neat with convenient parking and a cool setting. The owners are a husband wife duo who seemed great. The food was tasty BUT it was the smallest serving size I've ever seen in the US or Asia. My husband thought they forgot a dish it was so little.. His spicy massaman was pretty on point and very tasty. Only it came in what restaurants normally give you complimentary/starter soup in, not much at all. My drunken noodles which I hoped would resemble Pad Kee Mao were not even close. More like some random Chinese stir fry with one sad basil leaf 🤷 I may go back just to see they were having an off day? Undecided..

This is my second time visiting...sadly I don't think I'll be going again. The restaurant was busy but that's no excuse for poor service. We were rushed to order when the server finally got to us. The appetizers were cold but we were afraid to say anything for fear of upsetting the server (owner/husband). Food took forever to come. The food was ok. I have a Thai friend who has my standards quite high. If I were the owners, I would hire some staff and work on customer service. I wish them a lot of luck, it's not easy running a small business these days which makes me sad that my experience was so awful :(

My mind is blown that anyone would give this place a low rating, if anyone is second guessing, do not. If you are from York, you know there are not tons of options in York and appreciate something unique and cultured. There are a handful of Thai places in York and most of them are about equivalent. I have not tried an inferior one i would not visit again. None have disappointed me. I have also lived in Philly for 6 years so i wouldn't praise bad food. I had the Pad thai, which i always seem to get when i get Thai and i had no complaints, i appreciated the amount of spring rolls we received for the money. This place was also really cool as it has an old bank vault inside, and the family that owned the place was very friendly and made the experience even better. Definitely worth the visit, don't let the old brick exterior of the building or random negative reviews change your mind, some people just like to complain.

Stopped in today to try something new in the area and was pleasantly surprised. I had looked into this place a few times but wasn't sure at first. If you're on the fence, go for it. I started with the Tom-Yum shrimp soup. The unique flavor of spice and sweetness had me drinking the broth. I then ordered the Me Hungry meal, because I wanted to try the fried rice and the chicken satay. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and mixed with the sauce and rice it was filling, but not heavy. Made for a very nice late lunch meal. I also ordered the fried bananas and ice cream, and that was delicious as well. I definitely will be back to try something new next time. I recommend to anyone looking to try some good Thai in the area.

Thé atmosphère is really neat. The spring rolls were delicious. But, the edamame was dry and a bit “off”. All the food, except for the spring rolls, was cold. The pad Thai was ok, but a small portion and the noodles were unique. I do appreciate that everything is easily veganized and the owners are very nice. But, there are tastier places to spend your money.

Unfortunately, the worst Thai food I've ever had. Spring rolls were fine, but two of us got curry and it seriously looks like dish water with green oil floating on top. Light on protein, which was actually lucky since my chicken finished cooking hours ago and the beef was more fat and sinew than beef. Don't know what happened, but this is a hard miss. Hope it gets sorted out because it looks like some people have had the opposite experience

Always good and super friendly. Real Thai food. I got the grilled pork special and it was sooooooo good. The green papaya salad was a definite win. Next time I'm asking for more heat (and fish sauce) but the level of spice I got was perfectly balanced with the sticky rice to the point my wife could even try it. Everyone else enjoyed their more standard orders. Basil Fried Rice is always good. Pad Thai (with extra peanut sauce!) is "safe" for beginners. I've never ordered anything bad here. And I never take pictures because I want to eat the moment the food arrives. 1a and 1b between Krua Thai on N. George and this place for Thai in York County. District has more variety outside Thai food and good Pho; they also win for presentation if that matters to you. But Krua probably wins for authenticity, a perfect hand for spice at any level, and consistency. Great, fresh, Thai food and can be made friendly for any diet.

Very disappointed. We just moved here from Washington state which is full of amazing authentic Thai food. We have been looking for 3 months for a great place in York County to no avail. My husband has been picking it up in Harrisburg. I saw this place on my way to my mom's house and thought it would be great to try it. We always order the same dishes because we like them. Which is Hot basil fried rice vegetable and Thai fried rice chicken. I was excites to eat it when I got home and I couldn't even stand the taste. It had what I would call undertones of old bay. Too much of some spice was used and completely drowned out the basil. It was also not spicy but just tasted bad. My husband had been working in the yard all day and I told him to not expect the taste of what he wanted, but just use and open mind and think of it as a different dish. Hoping that he could eat it. He tried and took 2 bites. He didn't end up eating anything but 2 spring rolls. The food my daughters ate had very little chicken in it. Theirs however did have the authentic flavor so that was good. The photo attached to my review is my husband's plate from last night. Yes, a whole 16 hours ago because it was gross. We were seriously hoping this place would do it because it is a convenient location for us to pick up on the way home from visiting family. $60 of food in the trash. :( I am not one to leave negative reviews but I could not stomach it and neither could my husband. I also want to note that the owner's husband was very nice. He praised his wife's cooking abilities, which I admire. Definitely a nice family owned business. Just not great food. Also, I actually never leave bad reviews unless they are warranted. You can see it in my local guide history. And, yes...it tasted like old freaking bay. I hate that stuff, to begin with. I haven't had a chance to throw away the boxes in the fridge yet I can bring it back if you want to taste and see for yourself. I also want to point out that I help people with their reviews for a living and this is not the appropriate way to handle a negative review. People can see your defensiveness is pretty high. 😍

So disappointed. I got the Tom Kha Gai soup & Pad Thai. The soup had NO FLAVOR. All I tasted was sweet coconut milk. I ended up taking it home and adding ginger, lemongrass, fish sauce, red curry paste & lime. Then I had to add veggies. All it had was a handful of carrots, a couple mushrooms and a couple pieces of chicken. Then the pad Thai...ewww! So sweet. It was like sugar syrup and a couple of canned pea shoots were the only vegetables. Again, took home and added fish sauce, red curry paste, lime juice and some veggies. Edit: Thanks to the owner for a response to let me know my extremely slight complaint has been noted. I have changed my review to 5 stars. This place is truly a gem. The spicy pork belly is great & the tamarind duck is something of legend. Like, truly, I would consider offering my first born child for the duck recipe. The building is unique, being in an old bank. Seeing the vault door & its inner workings is pretty neat. The service was good & fast. So, why not a 5-star review? To be honest, I feel a little bad writing this, but I’m hoping it reaches the owner to take into consideration. The owner is a very pleasant, personable & kind man (which is why I feel bad writing this), but when I get my food I honestly just want to be left alone to enjoy my meal. Both times I’ve come the owner has talked my & my company’s ears off. When I go out to eat, I want to relax, enjoy a little relative silence or conversation amongst my company & enjoy my meal. Last time he talked to us for 5-10 minutes after giving us our food. It feels rude to just start cramming delicious food into my face while someone is talking to me, so I obliged & listened to him speak when I really just wanted to be left alone & start eating. Again, a very nice guy, don’t let this detract from the amazing food & service! This is just the best way I could think of to make the suggestion without being done rudely or awkwardly in person. I love Krua Thai!

The food was so good, I recommend the fish dishes and the curry, it is just like the food I ate in Thailand because the owner brings back Thai spices instead of substituting certain spices with whatever is in PA. I enjoy Thai food, but most places are following a similar template with a broad similarity between restaurants and between dishes in the same restaurant. This place is different. We ordered three different dishes, and they were very different. The variety and range of flavours was refreshing and delicious. The restaurant was very accommodating for vegetarians and for heat allowing all sorts of substitutions and alterations to suit a wide variety of preferences. Our only regret is that the staff were woefully uninformed about the menu. However, they were quite willing to run back to kitchen to answer our questions. At the end of the meal, one of the owners, Tom, came out to check up on our meal. Although it would be nice to have a knowledgable staff, getting an half hour of Tom's stories was even better. I cannot guarantee that Tom will come out with every meal, but if he does come to ask you about your meal, spend the time listening to his stories about how he met his wife an started this restaurant.

I just noticed I reviewed Krua Thai back in 2016. Well, it's 06/2019 now. In my first review I said I've visited there 18 times. Just went there yesterday, and that brought my current total to 107 times :) According to my expenses database, I've spent $2,866.88 there so far. I regret not a single penny of that. If anything, it's gotten even better over the years. Tommy & Aree definitely know how to satisfy customers; the food is exquisite. The only thing that annoyed me was getting stuff in sauce to go... it'd leak from the container and you get home with a bag of soup lol. They now use tupperware type containers that seal, so no more soup bags. With that problem resolved, I can't think of anything I can complain about save that the entrees are so good I wish I could order three at once to enjoy the varied flavors but my stomach would kill me if I ate that much lol

I return here again and again for the simple reason that this is some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Great variety. Great service. Cannot go wrong. And the leftovers are nearly as terrific

Got our take out tonight, and it was great as usual! If you've been bored with the same old 'Chinese' food that you can get anywhere, try out Krua Thai for something different, some very authentic and delicious Thai food. So worth the little extra cost. The staff is amazing! Highly recommended for a dinner party. So much attention to detail. Family friendly and BYOB.

This place has the best Thai food I've ever had. It was spicy, flavorful, and just delicious. The bubble tea was the perfect sweetness. Mango and sticky rice for dessert was on point. Our server was incredibly eccentric and really just wouldn't stop talking while we were trying to eat, but it was tolerable.

Small family owned restaurant. Very friendly service and authentic food. Thought the portions were a little on the small side for the money, but the food was very good. Overall a good experience.

Thaied for our favorite place to get Thai in York. See what I did? Anyway. I never seem to take pictures when I go here because I just start eating. Aroma. Taste. All of it is great. Get the pork belly if they have it! It can run salty, but it's so good.
