If your cycling The Katy Trail, do yourself a favor and stop at the KT Caboose. Great prices, located right on the trail, and some of the best coffee I've had on my three months bike tour across the country

Stopped there for lunch on the trail. The food was great, I got the Harvest Apple, and Jon is a pretty cool dude. I was going to camp for the night but ended up bailing as I wasn't prepared to the temps and the wind . There are a few places to set up a hammock, which I was using, but if you have the straps they will likely be too short to use, I would bring some extra cord to lengthen them. There is a shower available and bathrooms.

Great place to stop along the trail. Had the Harvest Apple Sandwhich, which was out of this world! . Super friendly staff that made for a very enjoyable lunch.

Best ice water on the trail !!!!!!!! I may be biased after 70 miles on the Katy trail 🤷‍♂️ My wife and I stopped and camped here on our eastward journey. $20 for camping, a shower and ice cream. Awesome little gem! Owner was very pleasant to talk with. He was worried that his prep time was slow. It's just him there, so we understood, plus it really didn't take long. The hours are not populating on Maps though.

If you ride the Katy or are just driving near Marthasville and looking for a bite, the KT Caboose is the best place to stop! As others have stated, the owner is a terrific guy who runs the place all on his own. The prices are beyond fair and are so reasonable that I am glad he has a tip feature when paying by card. You can leave him gratuity to offset his costs as your meal price will still be very affordable! We have tried several items from the menu and all are delicious and offer a healthy bite. He can make a dairy free smoothie that is fabulous and refreshing! Another plus is that when the Marthasville Katy stop bathrooms are closed, the KT Caboose offers a nice, clean bathroom.

We had dinner here and camped while riding the Katy Trail. The menu was fantastic with lots of delicious, healthy, and vegetarian options. We found a flat, comfortable camping spot and loved the rustic shower after a long day riding. Prices were a great value, and we enjoyed chatting with John. He is very knowledgeable about the area and commuting on two wheels. Whether stopping in for camping, a meal, or just a freshly squeezed lemonade and hand scooped ice cream, you will enjoy stopping at the K.T. Caboose.

Jon is amazing. I literally have no idea how he makes money. We had 2 dinners, two, drinks, AND two desserts for $25. The burger was good and my wife got the ALT and she loved it. It's literally 10 feet off the trail. Ice cream cone was just $2. Come on. Camping was pretty nice too. Two areas. One is right by the caboose. The other is quietly on the other side of a wetland area with tons of frogs. 100% would stay here again.

Jon, the food, atmosphere, and service were fantastic. The French press coffee right on the table was the best. The owner, Jon, is passionate about biking. He doesn't even own a car.

What a great stop while biking the Katy. We had wonderful smoothies, milkshakes, etc. The owner is super nice and the prices are on the cheap side. It is a one man show, so you need patience if a crowd shows up. The lunch menu looks good too.

I keep forgetting to write a review, so here we go! AMAZING. Through and through. My husband and I wanted to check the place out after a bike date on the Katy Trail. The owner's place is in the perfect spot to dine after a nice ride. He was so hospitable and friendly and we really enjoyed eating outside on the connected patio area. The food was also very delicious and there are great, healthier selections for those wanting something more fresh after exercising. The owner was there working by himself and said during the off season he pretty much runs it all himself, so please be patient if you go and have to wait in line or for your food, it is WORTH the wait. Not to mention, we overheard him speaking to some other guests who took advantage of his campground package that allows access to showers right on the premises. He is a super rad guy and he is a very professional and runs his business for the happiness of his customers!!

We had a great meal at the KT Caboose. Very reasonably priced and delicious. The owner was so wonderful to take care of all dietary needs. We enjoyed conversation about his biking experiences and time in PA. We highly recommend a stop here.

We couldn't stress how this place is a must stop for lunch along the Katy trail. The owner is the chef and service here. Outside seating only right along the Katy trail. He has a simple menu, and I always stop for my coffee fix.

Nice atmosphere and a very pleasant host made for a nice lunch with my granddaughters today. There is plenty of vegetarian and vegan options as well as beef burgers.

His charming caboose is located right on the katy trail. Jon takes care of you. He offers a healthy menu, and everything is freshly prepared. I have been there three times and will definitely go back again.

We rode the Big BAM on the Katy ride, and stopped at the KT Caboose on our last day out on the trail between Hermann and Augusta. It's a great place. John, the owner is just a really nice guy. Somehow he kept about 5 group orders all straight while cooking everything outside directly in front of all of us. We had several things, harvest apple sandwiches with vegan cheddar, pumpkin bread, tomato soup with pepperjack cheese. Everything was delicious. John was expecting a lot of people, so he had a limited menu for the day, but we enjoyed everything we had. My wife is vegan and honestly, finding vegan food can be a real challenge. I'm not vegan, but I often eat vegan/vegetarian and have to be on the lookout for the right stuff. KT Caboose has the right stuff for vegans and vegetarians. Oh my gosh, like finding a diamond in the middle of nowhere. The surroundings are rustic, kind of quiet, not middle-of-nowhere, but not a really busy place either. It's a perfect stop for someone riding the Katy though. Unfortunately, I'm not local; we would just stop there every time we go through.

Really unique place right on the trail. Healthy menu and it’s great that the food options are all heavy fast food like a lot of the places on the Katy trail. And the owner is a really nice person, he will definitely make sure your ride is going well.

Nice place to stop for food, coffee or just ice cream. Pretty expansive, (but not expensive) selection of dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Owner Jon is a biker himself. One note: all the dining is outdoors, so rainy days you'll have to gather under the canopy. We did not camp there, looked like just tent camping, but also has toilets and showers.

Owner was super friendly and helpful. I got the waffle and it was delicious. The Dutch Mess was also great. The chicken dog, not so much. The price is extremely reasonable and on par for the portions. Recommended.

We rode the Katy trail from Kansas City to St Charles and the KT Caboose was by far the best stop we made! Great healthy food (a rare find on the trail), hot shower, camping, clean bathroom. John is an experienced through hiker and cyclist and knows how to cater to those on a long excursion. Please…stop in and experience this gem in Marthasville!

Great place for some ice cream and a shower while riding the Katy Trail. The owner was friendly and helped provide suggestions for sheltered hammock camping in town. Well worth the stop!!

Plentiful vegetarian options. My wife got the caprese wrap, it was delicious. I got the mayor, which was also very good. We both drank fruit smoothies. Everything was reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and conveniently close to the Katy trail.

Now I only had ice cream, but it was delicious. The owner was very friendly and his energy is contagious. They filled my water bottles for me for free, which was much appreciated.

Host is super friendly and knowledgeable. He chatted with us while we ate some delicious sustaining food for our bike trip. He gave a lot of good tips and directions for those trying to get around the trail. Camping amenities are simple but good for the price, with a place to charge, bathroom open all night, and a hot shower accessible.

If you’re on the Katy Trail in Marthasville, you MUST stop here! Set aside the trail’s rail road history and the fact that this is an actual train caboose — how cool is that!? — but the food is fantastic and Jon’s stories about his biking and hiking adventures are awesome. This guy definitely has a passion for what he’s doing, and it manifests in his cooking and customer service. The menu, while not 100% vegetarian, definitely leans that way, and all ingredients are thoughtfully and consciously sourced. During the remainder of my ride on the Katy, whenever I mentioned to locals about having lunch at the KT Caboose, they all asked one question: “Has he raised his prices yet?” Apparently, prices have remained the same since Jon started running the restaurant, and he hasn’t adjusted them to account for inflation. He’s either terrible at math, or just a guy with a passion for making good food accessible to more people. I personally rolled into the KT Caboose weary and hungry, and for $11 feasted on a delicious ALT (avocado, lettuce, and tomato) sandwich, plus a huge bowl of vanilla ice cream with fresh strawberries. I left fed and happy to have met Jon.

I ate at the KT Caboose after 3 days of biking on the Katy Trail. The food was excellent (I had the apple & cheese sandwich and the falafel wrap). John the owner is an experienced long distance bike rider himself and is a great host. Eat there when you are in Marthasville!

I only stayed for a night while passing through on the Katy Trail as part of a larger crew, but the owner, Jon, was an awesome guy who served us all an amazing breakfast. Camp site is primitive, but does have a shower and bathroom. Electricity outlets can be found on the deck of the caboose. Definitely plan on coming back with the wife and kids.

Awesome place, the owner pulled out all the stops and went well above and beyond for our group. He opened the KT Caboose after the season was over just to accomodate our group. Thank you, highly recommend, dude is awesome. This place is a hidden gem in rural Missouri.

We love the KT Caboose. I’m not sure what the best part is, the owner Jon, the awesome food or the great prices. It’s a great place to sit on the patio, watch the through hikers and cyclist on the Katy Trail and visit with neighbors and visitors. Sad that he’s going to close for the winter months. We look forward to Jon coming back next spring.

Stopped here while biking the Katy Trail. The place had great food that was really affordable and it was open on Labor Day when most places along the trail were closed--this was a huge morale saver to get some hot food towards the end of the day!

Great unexpected stop on the Katy Trail for morning fruit smoothies. Menu looked really good, too bad it was too early for lunch. Owner was great to talk to and the deck was nice place to sit and watch the world go by. Highly recommend.

Such a cute place! One man run restaurant just steps from the katy trail. The milkshake is thinner than expected but perfect since it required less energy to drink it. Also had a delicious cheeseburger.

I bought the ALT (avocado, lettuce, tomato) sandwich and some fresh watermelon. I got absolutely delicious food and an hour or so of delightful conversation. This is a Must Stop if you are biking the Katy Trail through Marthasville. In addition to food, I learned that you can also tent camp at the KT Caboose.

This place is wonderful. A great place to stop on the trail with the family. Good food and amazing drinks prices. If you were expecting theme park like prices, you will be shocked like I was. I hope this place never closes! They will fill water bottles for free.

Recently discovered this gem, just past the Marthasville trailhead. The food is awesome, I had the apple orchard panini and some cold watermelon slices on a HOT summer day. The fresh squeezed lemonade was also very refreshing. Jon is personable, prices are very reasonable and a great outdoor setting to relax while taking in a beverage, food or a treat. It's a stop you shouldn't pass up along the trail. It will not disappoint!

We ate both breakfast and lunch here today, that’s how much we loved this little stop! The smoothies were wonderful, great healthy vegetarian options plus a grass-fed beef burger on the menu too. Can’t wait to leave room for the ice cream next time, this is a must-visit gem along the Katy Trail in Marthasville.

I stopped here while biking the Katy Trail. It's one of the best stops on the trail. Breakfast, lunch, ice cream, camping with showers. Great people! John is very knowledgeable about the trail and other trails throughout the country and goes out of his way to help you and feed you and make sure you leave with a smile!

Great little coffee stop and breakfast stop that just reopened.

Their ice cream is amazing and you don't have to wait long times like with some places. They have seating areas and they have bike parking places. If you are ever in Marthasville sight seeing go there! It is amazing! 😁😀
