We came from Virginia to this store in Maui just so we could eat a delicious halo halo made by Cocay, and she did not disappoint! Truly the most fantastic frozen dessert that I have ever eaten. Sorry for the late review, Cocay! Visit and enjoy, friends - you will be so happy that you did.

My first time at this place and try their famous desserts it did not disappoint. Forgot to take pictures but beautiful atmosphere, so friendly very good looking ,enthusiastic,& professional staff, and the place was exquisite! Will be definitely returning..Thank you for the excellent customer service .

Dropped by here for the halo halo en route to the beach. It was absolutely delicious with nicely chipped ice, two flavors of ice cream on top, and all the sweet beans and fruits on the bottom. Coco was also wonderful to chat with while she prepared the ingredients. I look forward to coming by again next I’m in Maui.

This is our go to market whenever we are visiting Maui. The store is well stocked, clean and prices are reasonable. They have delicious food at a reasonable price. Halo Halo is definitely a MUST!! Cocay is super sweet and friendly!

Great halo-halo and Leche flan!! The leche flan was nice and thick and eggy, just like how my grandma makes it. The store is well stocked with Filipino groceries too. We’re gonna go back for sansrival this morning!

Nice little Asian grocery store tucked away in a small street. Went here for the Halo-Halo and was not disappointed. They have a small selection of essentials and some home cooked snacks too. Friendly owner.

THIS PLACE IS AN ABSOLUTE GEM. Cucai was the sweetest women ever and she makes the best halo halo I’ve ever had. We left with huge smiles and hands full of treats. Definitely visit if you are looking for a delicious salty or sweet snack

The Halo-Halo was the best I’ve had in Maui! The owner was very kind and helpful. I tried most of the fresh food, Turon (banana egg roll), cheese bread , phyllo cheese bread , custard snack were all so delicious! Did not disappoint!

In the mood for Halo-Halo? We were and it’s the best I’ve ever had in the United States. The serving portion is large, good for 2 and inexpensive! Cocay whipped up this deliciousness for us and was very friendly. If you’re in the mood for Halo-Halo on Maui, this is the place. Thank you Cocay!

Best halo halo on the island, huge and with lots of ingredients. Perfect for your instagram. The market is located on the left side of the building, tucked away from the street. Inside you’ll find a bunch of Filipino ingredients, including balot. Ask for the halo halo, I also got super sweet Philippine mangoes, turon (banana egg roll) and chiccaron which was the thick crunchy kind. Salamat from Alaska!

My husband and I enjoyed some nice and refreshing halo halo here! We could tell the person who made them put a lot of effort into it. Would definitely come back here if we visit Maui again!

We stopped by for some amazing halo halo after dinner in Lahaina and brought it to baby beach (just down the road) to enjoy dessert with sunset. The halo halo was delicious and full of so many toppings and mix-ins. The store otherwise is stocked floor to ceiling with Filipino and Asian groceries and goodies. Well worth visiting!

The halo halo was amazing and totally worth the two buses I took to get here. Also found some homemade chicharron as well as some other fun snacks.

My husband and I have been hitting up this off the beaten path Filipino market since we’ve been on island. It is jam packed with southeast Asian groceries, especially Filipino items. The owner’s name is Catherine but we know her as Coco. She always remembers our names even though I go in there less than my husband. So friendly! And I have officially found the best place for halo halo. So much so that I had to leave a review. Thank you Coco for fulfilling my craving. Wish I knew this earlier when I was pregnant. 😆

First things first, I LOVE halo halo. I’ve tried all the halo halo on Maui, and none of them even come CLOSE to kusina. She also is very sweet and treats me like family.

This is the best halo halo in Maui. This is the oldest shop and she is the best. She supplies the other halo halo shops in Maui. Nicest lady and great prices too. Would recommend.

We researched the best halo halo as I had never had it. As a non-Filipino I had my doubts. Well, not only do I understand why it’s so loved, but I might be spoiled. I can’t imagine anyone doing it better. In fact, my Filipino girlfriend suggested this might be the best she has ever had. We also got chicharron (crispy and delicious), turon (wow!), biko (I haven’t tried yet, but they said it was yummy) and finally Portuguese egg tarts. Also haven’t tried them but getting good reviews. Oh yeah, after eating the halo halo I ran back in to get a leche flan! That thing is amazing! I highly recommend this place. I know there are new places opening up, but if you want homemade treats, you have to go here.

My families favorite place to grab a loaded halo halo when we have to shop for groceries, get our cravings satisfied or just need to beat the heat in Lahaina. One of the best we've had and will continue to go back for more!! I even took a friend whose never had one and she loved it. Recommend to anyone and everyone.

I recently visited this restaurant / grocery and I had a pleasant experienced. The food was very tasty. My favorite was Chicharones and Halo- Halo. The place was well kept compare to the other ones I've visited. The staff were nice and very friendly. I can not wait to go back and experience the Filipino hospitality . 🌸🤙

I went to this Asian Market today. It was fantastic—there are so many products and items packed in there, you are going to find the special items you are looking for. The staff could not be more friendly or helpful—she was a real treat and she understands what people are looking for and how to treat you right!

The best store for all things asian is found in this little hidden gem. From Filipino, to Thai, and Lao groceries Mrs. Kukai has it all . I’ve searched the island for SEA (southeast Asian)food but to no avail, until I came across her store. She’s got giant bags of sticky rice,and the pot and steamer basket for it 😳😳, that’s real. Has papaya salad makings too, so if ur on vacation and the thum cravings hit, you no where to go. Don’t let this shop fool you, what I need from the mainland, I can usually get here.

My favorite store in MAUI! One stop shop if you’re doing your grocery shopping . Big selection of Filipino spices , sauces , special delicacies that you can’t find anywhere else. The staff are super friendly and very professional!! Thank you Kusina Oriental!!

Let me paint a picture. It was our first day in Lahaina and we were procuring goods for our vacation stay. We hit up the nearby Safeway but didn’t know what to get for dinner. Knowing our mom she would love to make “dinengdeng” for the family. So the hunt for an Asian store began. I found a familiar term during my search “Kusina” and so we dare ventured. I was first confused as I saw a PNB sign, so I was like wait hold on am I in the right place? Well the best adventures come when unexpected. Though my family and I only spent a few minutes in the store we had a blast seeing products that we needed and was close to heart and hit home. Not to mention the warm company of miss Kathryn Margaret aka miss kukai hopefully I spelled those names right lol. Thank you so much for helping us out! We’ll be back if ever we need something else during our trip.

First time visiting Maui from NYC & wanted to explore my taste buds when I found Kusina Oriental-Lahaina. The grocer is a staple of Lahaina when it comes to Filipino goodies, from ingredients for your favorite dish, to goodies you can bring on your Maui adventures. I met the owner the day I visited & she was incredibly helpful and diligent when it comes to showing me around her store, as well as tips to making my stay worthwhile. I visited the store multiple times during my stay, both for the goods & the warm Filipino embrace.

Lots of flavors , bigger portion than others, more icecreams, the best halo halo here on maui! SO FAR Who makes it? ATE KUKAI :):):)

I agree with the other reviewer. This is the best halo halo in town. Very generous portion. They use real ube halaya and Goldilocks leche flan. The macapuno was so good! Cocay, the store manager who made our halo halo was very friendly and hospitable. She even gave us some banana fritters and cheese bread for free so we can try them. That was extremely generous! We will be back when we're in Maui again.
