A friend and I met for lunch on here on 8/6. We had a great experience, such good service and the food was great. The manager (Shaina?) was chatting with us about the desserts and we were ordering lunch and she ended up bringing some complimentary items to our table. She was so sweet.

Food is absolutely amazing. I am obsessed with the Parisian sandwich with the tomato soup. Everyone is lovely there especially the general manager. I wish they would add more locations and i love the almond croissant

I love to bring my grandkids here for our Sunday lunch date. I get my favorite soup and my darlings always get spoiled with a little treat on our way out. The service is always great and we are welcomed with such positive people.

The last 2 times we've eaten here the meal has not been hot, barely warm. New review. Aug.4 2020 1:00 pm. The service was super slow. I asked for utensils 3 different times and they never brought out any clean ones so we had to use plastic utensils. The food was slow coming out so I went to the counter and saw it sitting there and finally got to get our meal. And they discontinued my favorite quinoa salad. Very disappointing

I have visited La Madeline on Sunday, July 21, 2024, with a friend and previously submitted a complaint on their website, but received no response. I enjoy their crème brûlée and sometimes go for a latte and a treat but mostly to enjoy a nice time in a cozy atmosphere with my friends. I will never understand the hype behind this place, as a French, I can say that their food is really not worthy. My experience last Sunday was disappointing. The cashier repeatedly yawned while I was ordering ( more than 5 times!) I ordered a pain au chocolat, crème brûlée, and a latte. The cashier initially picked an empty aluminum ramekin for the crème brûlée, which should not have been in the display. His colleague then took a filled ramekin but almost handed it to me without a plate, which seemed unprofessional. Despite mentioning that I expect better service, they seemed very indifferent. Additionally, I was told that food from the counter is served immediately there, fine, but there are still respectful and professional ways to handle it. Also, their cappuccino is the worst I have had in town.

My normal review for La madeleine would be 4-5 stars but not this location in Lafayette. The avocado toast was pathetic - toast with avocado barely spread on the toast with a lemon wedge. My omelet was SO greasy and again presentation horrible. My children also had an omelet and a breakfast croissant that was greasy and again horrible presentation. I hope management makes changes and truly watches everything that comes out of their kitchen.

Today turned out to be quite disappointing at my usual spot. I usually enjoy having mimosas in the morning, but today I opted for the afternoon, which was a mistake. The cashier seemed distracted and more interested in talking than listening. The overall atmosphere was not up to par. The cups were disgustingly dirty, and upon our return to the cashier, she swiftly headed towards the glasses as if she was already aware of the problem. Absolutely appalling. Hopefully, my future visits will be more enjoyable!

La Madeleine is a good choice when you want something slightly different for breakfast. All are the same. Nice atmosphere and good food. This one was a little different than all the others I have been to. The bread is not self-serve. You have to ask for it. Not a bad thing.

I really enjoyed the food. The grilled cheese was delicious. I recommend this place to eat.

It took 40 minutes to get our food, and only after we asked why we did not have our food after 30 minutes. People who ordered after us were getting their food, and no one even checked up on us sitting there. They seemed to have had to remake a few orders that day and were very backed up. Food was not worth the wait or price either.

French onion soup had a few straps of cheese, which didn't cover a quarter of the bowl. The soup itself was almost tasteless.

I have eaten at the La Madeleine in several different states and I have eaten at this particular location numerous times. They have always opened at 7 AM on a Monday as they do the rest the week too ( I think). I stopped by today which is a Monday and the doors were locked, I thought that was strange because there was no signs or anything alerting customers to any kind of issues. So I called the restaurant, and a gentleman picked up the phone and immediately asked if he could put me on hold. I was on hold for 17 minutes. I should’ve hung up much much sooner than I did and I’m unimpressed with myself for having stayed on hold for that long as I still never got to talk to anyone. Not sure what was going on today when I dropped by a little after 9am. Hopefully the next time I try to go, they will actually be open. I gave five stars for the food option on this review as had I been able to actually go in and eat, the food would’ve been pretty good.

This is not my first experience at La Madeline’s in Lafayette, LA, but I wanted to share my gratitude to them for going above and beyond in making right a customer service mess-up. I was with a very small, intimate bridal party gathering and we each ordered separately. It was quite a while that I had waited for my food before I went to the counter to make sure nothing had gone wrong with my order. One of the servers apologized and told me she would look into my order right away. I went back to sit down, and the manager came out shortly after to deliver my food, apologized that my food was delivered to the wrong table, and gave me a full refund for my entree plus a coupon for a free entree next time I came to their restaurant. I want to really commend the manager and La Madeline’s for going above and beyond to fix this mistake. I almost never, nowadays, find any restaurants doing either of these acts in order to fix a service mistake. I wanted to write this review to show my appreciation for their efforts and service recovery. The food and atmosphere is of course always very good at this restaurant as well.

I don’t know what’s happened to this place, but never again. I come to Lafayette for business every few weeks. I’ve eaten breakfast here several times and it’s always been good. Today NOTHING was good. I’ve eaten at several LaMadeleine’s and they are mostly consistent. Today: The “French” coffee was not their usual coffee. The croissant was literally cold, I went thru about dozen napkins trying to dry off the bacon which was soaked in grease and can’t figure out how you can over cook scrambled eggs…but they found a way. The only reason I suffered thru this meal is because I was on a schedule and didn’t have time to do anything else…but never again at this location. There of several options for breakfast in Lafayette, use one of them.

We went for breakfast and everything about this place was worth returning for. I have nothing bad to say.

Good coffee, great friendly staff.

We stood in line for almost 8min, we proceed to place our order, to find out that the coffee machine was broken. They had only iced coffee, hot tea or iced tea. We order hot tea and iced latte... Hot tea turned to be, make your own lipton drink lol.. Coffee was made like you have water mixed with milk.. Food was cold, our orders came in pieces. It took another 8 to 10 min to get the rest of the cold order. Service was bad. One of waiters had his earplug on, can't hear you when you call him. We wouldn't have stayed in line, If they had a sign posting that the coffee machine is broken. The one in Houston, TX was awesome. This one in Lafayette just sucks and the workers don't care.

Absolutely amazing place the best service and wow what great food and the desserts are to die for !

They were surprisingly out of the ham and Swiss crepes, so I had the Croque Madame sandwich with an egg instead. It came with potato soup. The meal was tasty and reasonably priced. We also ordered the mushroom chicken puff pastry dish with a side of cheesy grits. Wow!! The mushroom sauce is heavenly and the grits are perfect. Great service.

I love the place, and there are different ways to go with your food, whether salads, sandwiches, soups, entrees, or breakfast anytime. I especially love their mango iced tea!

One of my favorite places to grab lunch in lafayette! I’ve always had a great experience here but the other day the cashier, Amy, that took my order refused to sell me my second mimosa assuming that I’m buying it for someone else. She checked my ID (I’m of age) & I even told her this mimosa is for me, there’s no valid reason for her to refuse the sale. I hope Ms Amy fixes her attitude and quit acting so uptight!

Waiting at the register for 10 minutes before someone came to take out order. People were very friendly but the food is always good

We hadn't been before so we got a little of everything. The Nutella croissant was what my Nutella dreams are made of. The Croque was fine. The tomato soup was velvety. The chocolate croissant can be described the same as I would describe myself: savory and just a *little bit* sweet and plenty nutty. The coffee was yummy too! We went back for a blueberry muffin to go bc I thought I remembered a friend saying he loved them the most.

This was my 3rd time at this location. I took my girlfriend and we sat in front of the fire place where we both enjoyed breakfast. We shared avocado toast along with a spinach, bacon, and cheese omelette. Everything was delicious. The service was once again great. The staff here is really friendly and pleasant.

Great place for breakfast & brunch. I ordered the custom made to order omelet with cheddar, ham, tomatoes & spinach. Meal came with a crossaint and had the blackberry rhubarb. Atmosphere was cozy, warm and very welcoming. We'll be back to dine!

First time eating at a la Madeleine and it was a wonderful visit!! Staff here were so friendly and informative, the food was great, and we absolutely enjoyed our time here. We tried various sandwiches, soups, pasta salad, and bakery items between our whole group. Will definitely return if we get the chance!

The sandwiches are great. Unfortunately the service was lacking (had to remind people about the desserts we ordered a couple times, and a drink) and the desserts were also not good. Who ruins chocolate by adding raspberry to it? Apparently they do. Cakes had too much lemon zest in it. Each dessert seemingly has something in it that absolutely ruins it. I have not tried every dessert yet, but I plan to. Also, don't waste money on the chai latte, it's garbage. Don't trust French people to make an Indian drink properly. Other than that, the sandwiches are worth going back for, and an attempt to find SOME treat that isn't horribly ruined.

This is one of the best places in Laffy for a fresh made breakfast. Quick, clean, great service.

My coffee was good. The food was disappointing. Everything was old, definitely not fresh. That surprised me the most. How long do you let food sit around before you stop selling it? My fruit salad literally tasted like mold. I thought it might be just one bite that was off, but no. Every single piece tasted moldy. Disgusting. Our pastries were dry. Overall I'm not impressed. All our food was to go, so we ended up wasting our money. I doubt I'll give this place another try.

Love the relaxed dining atmosphere at la madeleine. Great food and great bakery items, so you can visit for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a snack! They also have a nice side patio to eat at if the weather is nice out.

[We went back in January] We got there 30 mins before they closed. The place was great. Food was great. Service was great. Our car wouldn't start. One of the cooks gave us a jump. He didn't have to do that. But he did. And he wouldn't take any money for the help. He told me he was raised better than that. It's nice knowing there are good people out there with kind hearts. I Thank you sir.

The BEST croissants! 🥐 Makes me feel like i’m in Paris already.

We showed up 30 minutes before they were closing to get some Creme Brulee and a Coffee and the service was amazing. They didn't rush us and even allowed us to sit and visit after they were technically closed while they were cleaning up. Amazing service! And the Carmel Creme Brulee was awesome. I'm only in town for a short visit but will make it a point to go back again.

Out of champagne what is wrong with this place insanity. That's one of the reasons why you even come to La Madeleine for the French feel. Disappointment

First, we had to stand in line to order. What is this--fast food? We saited in line behind maybe 8 people for 14 minutes. You have to read a menu while standing in the line all the while moving out of peoples' way like servers and other customers. At least Picadilly has a designated line area where nobody bothers you. Then you take a number sign to your table to wait for the food. The food took 8 minutes. I had a French dip sandwich which was barely mediocre. Wifey had some chicken something sandwich which she said was pretty good. No sweet iced tea. This is the south, we like sweet iced tea. The drink that I did get was lemonade in a plastic bottle. No class at all. Nice LOOKING place, but I cannot recommend it. Servers were friendly, but only delivered the food and no service beyond that. This place has no class, no service, mediocre food, and you have to stand in a slow-moving line to get even that! I will not go back.

Really nice place with friendly staff and tasty constant food. Fireplace when it is cold outside is toasty. I love the chicken parisan sandwich, the tomato soup, and the penne pasta salad. I dip everything in the soup! So good! Great lunch spot, but opens early for breakfast. Lots of pastries, cookies, and other unique dessert items. They offer complimentary sourdough bread with rhubarb strawberry jam, really enjoyable. Busy, but fast!

I Tried The Madeline for The first time and wasn't impressed I ordered the French Dip sandwich cause I like roast beef it would've been better if they'd offer you a choice of cheese and different types of Bread

Food is so-so and sometimes bland. On another occasion, the man I spoke to on the phone was very rude, uncaring, and did not call back to address an issue like he said he would. I do not recommend this place. There are so many other restaurants in Lafayette with better food and management.

Today, I went because I really enjoyed my last visit. Today I went by myself, and I was beyond extremely disappointed. The guy who waited on me was extremely rude and really insulted my intelligence instead of being helpful to me. I ordered a Croque monsieur sandwich and when I went with the friend a couple months ago it was wonderful today it was smothered in cheese on both sides top and bottom with very little in the middle and it was terrible. It was definitely not worth the $17 I had to spend on it. And just a sliver of coconut cake was almost $6.00. That is accounted for in the $17, but it was definitely not worth the money. I will give it one more shot but I definitely do not want to sandwich like I had today although I do want to order the same item. Last time the bread was better dump outside and all the cheese was in the middle which was fantastic. What I got today looked like chip cheese on toast and I am beyond disappointed 😢

Went for brunch after church on Sunday. The food was amazing even though the place was fairly crowded. The people in the restaurant booths Steph and Philip customers could not have been wonderful. The food was exceptional and the great value for the price

I went on May 7th around noon and the girl at the cash register was very smart aleck but I ordered anyway. The food is overpriced and the quality very low brow. The coconut cake was absolutely the worst I have ever ate. My Beagle could do a better job. Simply nasty service and food.

Went to pick up a door dash and they didn't even know about the order and then preceded to take there sweet time making it and had me waiting almost 20 minutes I lost out on multiple dashes because of this and lost money

Being so hungry and looking forward for some breakfast, i ordered a Strawberries Romanoff Cinammon Bun French Toast. 10 minutes past by and they get my wife her food and was prompted that mine is coming just right out. It was the moment that I saw the family behind us getting all of their food which made me question where is mine? 20 minutes go by and Im still being very patient as my wife tells me they probably are still making the order, still I remain waiting. It was when half an HOUR goes by where I couldn’t take this no more and come to find out that they FORGOT TO BRING IT OUT. The staff was nice but the service was really terrible, this is my first time in La Madeline and it’s been a terrible experience. Im not even being a Karen but 30 minutes for a small plate is ridiculous. Don’t recommend it to anyone no 🧢

Great food, great service, love the pastries!

This is the second time in a row that I order a French dip sandwich to go and the "caramelized" onions are white and crunchy. If y'all decide to try it I suggest you check it before you leave!

Absolutely delicious food. You order then are seated and your food is brought to you. Didn’t get a chance to get any pastries but they looked amazing.

First time visitors. Chose to dine outside due to COVID potential (yes, it is a real threat... just ask my two dead friends) in less than ideal conditions. We both had the "Country French Breakfast" and split a "Strawberry Romanoff French Toast. Overall, food was good, with the very good Potato Gallette the food highlight. The French coffee (1 of the 3 choices on the bar), while definitely brewed from dark roasted beans, was not 'French' enough for me. Best thing about the visit was the people, who were so nice and very helpful! So the 4-star Rating is avg. of 5-stars for Staff and 3-stars for Food (good but not great, but YMMV). Ciao!

Delicious Food Wonderful Ambiance

Lovely place for a get together. The atmosphere is cozy, prices are a bit high, but the food is divine. The pastries are where the best part of the cafe comes in! Its one of the few places in Lafayette that sticks to its french cuisine roots.
