This place is legit as hell. I live in Texas and stopped by here for a burrito (they nicely would whip up a vegetarian one) and it demolished most of the Mexican food I’ve had at home. Soft, chewy tortilla slightly griddled and outstanding flavor. Literally look no further. The owner is also an incredible guy and it’s a small business you just support!

We went here tonight for the first time. The place was completely dead. The food was terrible. The ground beef tasted like it was very old and greasy. The menu online and on the wall is only available at certain times and is very limited. All they had to offer were tacos, tortoise and quesadillas. The quesadilla was extremely salty. There was no flavor to the tacos and the prices were very high. They charged an extra $.50 for cheese on each taco but never told us. We would never go here again.

I had the Asada burrito and it was flavor packed with fresh ingredients. La Mesa is a joint there is not really a atmosphere and it was just one guy working who was extremely friendly. A coke and burrito was 17 bucks which I thought was a bit high even though the burrito was very, very good 13 bucks all in is what I am use to spending even in our inflationary age.

The food here was very good. Had the Torta, Salsa and Chips. However, the service was not great. Worse yet, though the food was good it was EXTREMELY overpriced for what you get. $22 for a Torta sandwich, Chips and a Drink. Won't be back.

This is excellent Mexican food! Try the Gordita with pastor! Amazing! I also love the Chilli relleno and Enchillada de Pollo with Mole. Nothing like good Mexican food and a cold Corona! AND the prices are amazing!!! We are also regular take out customers. So fast, easy, yummy and cheap!

We love La Mesa especially on Saturday nights when they have 1/2 price Margaritas. The service is extra slow but the food is authentic, the portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Give your self plenty of time as the wait staff moves at an extremely slow pace. The combo plates let you chose from a variety of Mexican favorites. Try one of the super sized burritos, the tortilla soup or order a gorditas on the side. The menu has something for everyone. We usually order more than we can eat so that we have leftovers to take home. The restaurant is small and a bit older. You can place a take-out order if you would rather not dine-in. They do a very good carry-out business as we always see customers coming in to pick up their orders whenever we visit.

One of the best (food wise) Mexican restaurants in the area. Great margaritas. Carne asada is very good as is the rope vieja and the pork dishes. For a small restaurant, the menu selection is very good. Appetizers are limited but standard. Try something different from the standard enchiladas, carne asada, and meat tacos. The fish tacos are really good. Homemade salsa is fantastic. Limited parking in front (go around to the back and come through the rear door). This is one of those places that just has good food at reasonable prices. Forget about foo-foo décor tablecloths, and fancy art - you're looking for good food, right?
