Charlie, our waitress, was rude at best. When I asked her a question about a drink on the menu, she replied "Isn't it written on there?" So, we gave her 0 tip, and are giving Hilton Lauger Head resturant" 1 star, for allowing her to work there, and represent your brand.

This place is all that and then some. The food here is incredible, and the service is above 5 stars. It is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Food poisoning is a constant whenever I eat here. Do not eat here!

wait is always way too long for mediocre food, not sure if it's a staffing issue or what because there's always open tables.

Waitress was rude. Everyone around us got their food, ate and left, some tables did that twice in the time it took us. She kept saying there were technical issues with computer but no one else was affected but us???

I mean, it's a tourist place, so exactly what you would expect from a beach-front hotel in a tourist area. If you are looking for something exotic and special, this is not the place. If you are coming in off the beach in a swimsuit and need average food, this place will do. You can sit outside or inside, but it is really just a hotel restaurant, the food is not 'fast food' but there is not a lot of thought put into it. Beer selection is minimal. Service was slow, and out of our 5 meals, they arrived at different times.

We tried going there for two nights straight. Had to wait 15+ minutes for a waiter to come. Didn’t even experience. We were lounge area.

Bad service had to wait 30 minutes for a waiter/waitress to even acknowledge. Also we were seated around a campfire like setting with a stiff couch. Also the atmosphere consisted of loud music that gave my family and I harsh headaches. The wait was so long we didn’t even get to experience the food we highly anticipated.

Waited 45 mins wich was totally fine but than waited forever for waitress to come extremely bad service hardly checked on us Than come home and get extremely sick from the food there wich was very pricey, it didn’t taste bad at all but made my stomach very upset

The location is amazing, gorgeous.... The food is awful. Honestly, we tried it twice while here in VA beach. The nachos are huge and sopping with flavorless cheese, Sour cream and guacamole. We had chicken on them and it was basically strips of either frozen chicken or boiled it tasted like nothing. I had a fried chicken sandwich that had a big chunk of grisle in it. Also flavorless. My husband had the Mahi sandwich, he said it was ok. One good thing was the French fries and the staff is nice.

We had a nice lunch here. Right on the beach, inside the Hilton garden inn, a nice big bar and plenty of tables! We had a good mushroom burger, the egg rolls were really good, and the ceaser salad (side) is plenty for 2! Maybe we are sticklers on service, but not perfect. Just really like when the servers are very attentive and bring plates and should not have to ask! Recommend to eat here!

Pros: The waitress was nice, right on the beach, most of the food tasted good, and had good portions for the price. Cons: sat outside and one side of the seats was a bench that was way too low for the table, ants crawling all over our feet, tons of flies, and they made my food missing several of their ingredients and had to remake after I pointed it out (waitress was nice and got mistake comp'd).

Lager heads was a decent place to eat. Cool environment, nice outdoor area, but the chairs were falling apart and need replaced. We came to explore their beer, assuming by the name that they brewed their own beer, but they do not. We got the loaded fries to start, which tasted great. The fries were perfect, soft on the inside with a nice crunch on the outside. I got the mahi sandwich, which was okay, nothing to write home about. There was too much bread for the small piece of fish, and it needed more sauce. My mom got the southwest salad, which she said was really good and a huge portion. My husband got the crab stuffed tuna, which he said was well cooked and seasoned, but needed more sauce to be able to flavor the plain rice with. My dad got the beef tips, which he said were standard beef tips like you get anywhere. He did say that the teriyaki sauce was really good and had a good amount to coat the rice. The wait staff was kind, and we had about a 30 minute wait to get a table. The bathrooms were clean as well.

Great beer selection. Friendly bartenders willing to chat. One also gave me a bandaid which saved my night 😅

We have often been to Lager Heads over a few years and we have and still enjoy the food and service. We especially like their crab cakes which we find the best of what we have tried in the area. I recently had their crab stuffed flounder and was not disappointed. And of course a crab cake appetizer. All delicious! Our bartender Katie was great. She seriously does an excellent job. Katie is friendly, fun and we look forward to sitting at her bar again.

First time here on vacation and no disappointments here. The food was very good portions were excellent you will leave full with leftovers highly recommend eating here

Wow. The food was truly some of the best food I’ve ever had. Everything from the mocktail, to the appetizers and main entree, it was all amazing. The mac & cheese was THE BEST I’ve ever had in my life, without a doubt. Our server was kind, however he didn’t come to ask us if we wanted refills nor do I believe he came to check up on us to see how we were doing while we were eating. He did seem like he was doing a lot of things at once so maybe that’s why. Overall however, I am truly impressed and will be recommending to anyone coming to Virginia Beach.

We called in advance about a party of 17, even if not all together is fine. They said come on by. We got there in 10 minutes. Then they said they can't accommodate us. We asked why and they said they were too busy. They had plenty of open tables. We asked for the manager. She said it was policy not to accept big parties. I asked why they didn't say that on the phone. Then I asked what the difference would be between us and three groups of six. No answer. We went to the Mexican restaurant across the street. It was very good.

Great food and service. Javier took good care of my wife and I. We definitely will be back in the near future.

First time here and in Virginia beach..it was a perfect beautiful atmosphere with friendly staff and great food.

My family and I ate here on the 4th of July. First, the wait to be seated was an hour for inside and 1.5 hours for outside. It's a beachfront restaurant and it was a major holiday, so it should be expected. I had the lemon pepper wings chicken sandwich meal, which was huge, and two alcoholic drinks. I spent $60, which was worth it. I'll be back.

I enjoyed the food atmosphere was very nice. The waitress was very nice but they’re seating is terrible sat outside and it feels like you need a booster chair to set up to the table. I think it came to my chin.. wrong size chairs for the size of the tables. I hope the management can see this. Maybe they don’t realize it.

This place was very disappointing.. After driving hours and checking into the Hilton, my daughter and I were exhausted and hoped to order takeout or room service. We were told they were not doing take out. We then came down to eat and the hostess was extremely rude and did not even address us. After standing right in front of her for several minutes I asked if there was a table available and was told no it will be a 20 minute wait. There were clearly tables available in front of us and this was at 9:15pm. Hilton should really have food available for guests at 9pm on a Friday night in the restaurant located inside their location. We ended up walking down the street to another restaurant that had friendly prompt service Nautilus Restaurant. Luckily my daughter and I were able to eat before 10pm as we have to be up by 5am.

I absolutely love this establishment! This was my second trip to Virginia Beach and I knew I had to dine at Lagerheads again. The food has gotten even better since my last trip, so much that I dined here twice! Both times got the buffalo shrimp appetizer, which was so delicious! I tried the shrimp po boy sandwich and the fried fish sandwich and both were so good!!! You definitely need to dine here!!!

Food was not what we expected. Especially for the price. Pretzels were dry and boring. Burgers are not as pictured. Super small and underwhelming. Mahi sandwich was a mess and also underwhelming.

Crab stuffed flounder was dry and pretty flavorless. Otherwise a decent experience. Probably should’ve gotten the burger.

Sat at a table overlooking the outside trash, sat for over 15 minutes with no one even taking our drink order.

Last night our waitress was busy but still gave us amazing service!! Kept checking up on us and even comped our app that came out a little late (no big deal they were slammed). She was so sweet and such a hard worker! Thank you!!

We ate there multiple times during our stay at Hilton. The food was amazing: we had mushroom Swiss burger, Mahi Cajun Pasta, buffalo shrimp, lemon and pepper wings; they all tasted good but the number one dish for us was grilled Crab cake sandwich! Special thanks to Katie and Kash for their outstanding service and friendliness!

Blackened Mahi sandwich is killer. Get the sauce on the side as it is very strong. Servers should know that am empty 1st beer indicates a needed 2nd beer usually. No delay please.

Went here for lunch today. The food was really good. We had a big party so we tried a few things. The nachos were huge, fish and chips were awesome, burgers were great, Mac and cheese awesome, the drinks were delicious.

Nearly every table in this dump was empty, and still told to sit, and wait 45 min to eat. Smelled very bad of rotten fish inside.

Best food for the price, especially the burgers!!! Kellyn's Service was outstandingly attentive and professional.

5/31/24 630pm. we had a large group (7 adults, 5 kids) and were seated quickly. Our server was prompt and very good at getting beverages and such. The food was awesome and served hot! We've visited 2x so far, and probably will be back. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. Having a large group with kids can be an issue, but everyone here was awesome!

Huge salads, enough to feed 2 people at least. The pickle fries are just okay. The bloody Marys needed a pickle or an olive or some celery. They did give us a couple pickles to put in our drinks. The beef vegetable soup was really good but would benefit from a little less salt. Overall I'd give this place a 4 out of 5 stars.

The food was really delicious! The servers that sat us at our table could have been a little more pleasant, but our waitress was so nice and efficient! Would definitely come back.

My husband and I frequented Lager Heads years ago. It's connected to the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel. The atmosphere still has good vibes. The bartender was hopping and was extremely busy. But she was keeping up with the flowing orders. She was amazing.

I am disappointed with this restaurant. The service was very uncomfortable as the staff and waiter kept staring at us in a strange way. Then the white tall server proceeded to make us uncomfortable with his passive aggressive behavior. He complained when we tipped low when he didn’t deserve one to begin with. So I wouldn’t recommend anyone coming to eat here. Food was bland and not worth it.

So good, we went back! Walked from our hotel to this spot for burgers. The burgers are thick and juicy and the toppings are plenty! I had the Big Bacon Burger twice, and it was worth it. The fries are light and flaky. You almost don’t need ketchup. I enjoyed a virgin strawberry daiquiri to wash it all down. We dined outside and enjoyed the music and tropical ambiance. Highly recommended!

Nice atmosphere, good service, mediocre food, not very clean.

We had the best afternoon at Lager Heads! There was live music playing just to the side of the patio. Our server was Shawn and we just loved him. He was funny and efficient. We had an issue with the tonic water (didn't taste right); he fixed the issue quickly and the drinks were perfect. We got wings and pretzel bites and both hit the spot & were very tasty. Strongly recommend for just a relaxing afternoon out on the patio, taking in some sun and listening to great music.

Best food we had all week. A bit pricey but expected at these type restaurants. Haddock was great and salmon seared tasted great also. Onion rings and pickle fries tasted great. Frozen Pina colada was really good.

Went on a Monday and sat for twenty minutes before we could even order. My food was wrong, but they were apologetic and fixed it. Food was okay. I had the southerner. Nothing to write home about, but at least it filled me up.

Had one beer. Bartender acted like how dare I bother her for a beer. Won't be back.

Great food and drinks! Katie is the best bartender! Very attentive to the customers and drinks are spot on. Cesar salad with salmon was delicious. Salmon was cooked perfectly! Pretzel bites were very tasty. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in Virginia Beach!!

So the sign outside said go in to be seated , we walk the bartender just looks at us and doesn’t say a word so we had to ask can we set here at the bar or what , she was so rude we asked about the special and she pretty much snapped are head off because we asked a question , it was the worst experience I ever had I will never go there or recommend it I wish I caught her name but we didn’t all I know is blonde hair with a forge in accent and so rude

Came here in the evening for a few drinks and meal, it was somewhat late, so the atmosphere was starting to wind down a bit. Had a classic burger and fries, a beer, and a couple mixed drinks. Nice spot to sit quietly and chat, but not a super upbeat vibe. Waitress was attentive enough, but staff seems overall disengaged. It wasn't a very welcoming or overly pleasant atmosphere. Felt sort of, "Come. Eat. Get Out." The food was good, beer was good, and mixed drinks weren't very strong. I'd probably come back if options were limited and I was hungry but it wouldn't be my first choice in an area with plentiful options.

Food was pretty good - my boyfriend had the bacon burger and I had the shrimp po-boy. The only utter letdown was our service. Our waiter was at first, very attentive. Took our order and brought us drinks, but completely disappeared after that. Another server brought out our food, and we had to ask for drink refills twice from another server as well. After waiting for about 10 minutes for our server to pick up our check, we left it with another server. Otherwise, food was great, atmosphere and live music was lovely, but the service was sub-par at best.

The drink and crab cake sandwich were good but my fries were extremely salty. The server did offer to give me a new batch but by then I was already full so I declined.

Overall, I was happy with the food. The chefs at the restaurant really know how to make excellent food. However, the issue is with some of the services. There is a bartender named Cash who provided exceptional service. Unfortunately, he does not work the bar or service area all the time. The other bartender, I never got her name, was the total opposite. When we first walked in, we we r seated and told the bartender would be helping us. The bartender walked by four times, making sure to ignore us while serving others and rolling her eye at us when she did look our way. Even when she wasn't serving anyone, she would clean dishes or go in the back room away from the bar area. After about ten minutes, I asked the host, who was supposed to be working our section. She went to get her, but eventually, another person assisted us. He took care of us, and we finally got drinks and food. The interesting part of this situation is that after we were served, two other couples came in. This bartender immediately brought them water and served them quickly. She even went back several time to see if they were good to go. Outside of the excellent food, be care dining here, blacks are looked down on, and discrimination by the white female bartender is obvious. If Cash is working the bar...go....if not either get food to go or eat somewhere else.

In town for a 3 day family beach stop during spring break week. Stopped here on day 1 for dinner. No wait, good service, great food. Decided to return day 2, ordered different dishes and loved them again. So we made it 3 visits in 3 days. Cheeseburgers were great, fish n chips, grilled cheese, good selection of tap beers. Outdoor seating available right on the boardwalk. I would recommend walking down here if you are in the area.

Rudest staff ever. The hostess was horrible. They refused to honor the reservation we made and even after the manager said to seat us the hostess flat out said no in the most snarky voice. We didn’t eat there, refuse to give my money to an establishment that treats its guests so awfully.

Great eatery inside Hilton Garden Hotel. We ordered a bunch of apps and they were delicious. Server wasn't very friendly and she seemed impatient when we were trying to decide what to order. We enjoyed dining there because we didn't have to leave the hotel

My visit to Lagerhead's restaurant was nothing short of a culinary adventure, and it all started with their knockout burger paired with creamy mac and cheese.

Very clean, food was great, waiter was on top of refills & our food came hot to the table. Very pleased.

Oceanfront place to eat. Great service and food with decent prices. I had the mushroom Swiss burger, wifey had the Cobb salad.

We had a late night snack. It was good.

The food all tastes the same - bland. And… this was $13 cheesecake.

This is a wonderful place to go even if you just want to eat light and have drinks. The staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The food is absolutely delicious.

ryan skidmark, the new manager makes this place absolute HELL for anyone to work. he hates the staff, the customers, really anyone who is ever in his presence. if you are to visit this establishment please give the staff a thanks for having to deal with the worst manager i’ve ever come in contact with.

Great food and ambiance on the water! Everything we ordered was delicious and enjoyed with a great view! The location was convenient, the portion sizes were more than enough, and the service was good. I'd definitely eat here again and enjoyed getting to dine by the ocean!

We ate here for our anniversary. The food was delicious with the exception of the mac and cheese (not much flavor). The portions were huge, and Amari took great care us. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely love coming here. As a VB local, this is one of my go-tos for a good burger, views and a good local craft beer. Prices are affordable, food is good, what more could you ask for? My family from out of town often look forward to coming back to this restaurant. I highly recommend!

This is a great little place down at the ocean front. The menu has a lot to choose from and the food is great. The service is wonderful and the staff is more than friendly and eager. The wait time on the food wasn't long at all. If you're in the area definitely check this place out.

And we didn’t get the expo person’s name, but thank you to everyone who made the evening special. My Son’s favorite appetizer is the pretzel, but this time it was cut into pieces and served in a hot stainless steel serving dish, with sides of cheese, bacon and cilantro. Excellent! We got the Chicken sandwich, the Southerner and the Classic burger. One thing, the lettuce is shredded, and plentiful. I will ask for it on the side next time. My Son took his complimentary birthday cheesecake to go. What a special touch! The Christmas decor was very festive. Awesome time eating out.

Good pub-like menu at the Hilton. Fairly generic menu, but the food was fantastic. Hubby raved about the fish and chips (and he's a fish and chips snob) and my Cobb Salad was heaping with avocado, eggs, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, bacon, and a sliced chicken breast. Great beer selection as well.

Food was absolutely disgusting. Actually inedible. Service openly said there wasn’t much that was good on the menu, should have taken their advice and left then. Do not waste your time or money here. Avoid this place.

This was our first time to dine here. Our waiter Dom was excellent, very attentive, polite and friendly. Our food was fresh, tasty and served timely. Great selection of different beers and mixed drinks. We will return on our next visit to VB!

What a disappointment. We were staying next door and Trip Advisor reviews were pretty good. Didn’t feel like going out so we decided to do take out. My husband went to the restaurant to place the order and wait for it. We were hoping to get it back to our room while it was still hot. He stood at the counter waiting for the order. He saw an order come up but no one told him it was his. After about 10 minutes one of the front end people asked if she could help him. He told her he was waiting for a take out order. The server who took the order said oh that one is yours. We ordered a shrimp poboy to split and an order of Mac and cheese. The fries were cold and so was the shrimp. I had to reheat the Mac and cheese. The shrimp were good but the bread was a bit stale. The pickle and lemon were old and shriveled. The only redeeming feature was the Mac and cheese. It was really good. Maybe it’s better if you eat in but would definitely not recommend take out.

I'm not in NOLA having an ample "Shrinp Po Boy"b but in North End Virginia Beach at "Lager Heads" in the Oceanfront HGI which is a Mid-Atlantic wonder, itself. This Hilton resort eatery has style, ambience AND Good Food! Try the "Southerner," a burger with pimento cheese, bacon and fried green tomato atop; you'll feel like you're back down home. The "Turkey Melt" and "Shrimp Po Boy" will have you comin' back for more 'cause brothers Andy and Tyler'll feed you like your old family friends.

Black and Bleu burger, onion rings, Chardonnay. Very good burger. An interesting seasoning on the onion rings. Good house Chardonnay. Katie is an excellent bartender. She took care of the full bar efficiently and friendly.

I love sitting on the patio here! When the weather is nice, it's such a great vibe! The food is also really good. I had a very delicious bacon cheeseburger and the old bay wings!

Let me start with the burgers are very juicy and have a great flavor. I had a big bacon burger, the burger had plenty of bacon and cheese. I just wished bacon had been cooked a little longer. My wife had the knockout Burger, this burger has a Philly cheese steak mixture on top of the burger consisting of steak, onions, peppers, and cheese. She absolutely loved it! The fries were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crunch. Also it's a good portion of fries. Definitely will be back for another burger when in town.

Walked in from the Oceanaire side where the bar is. It's full, so my husband and I attempt to get a seat closest to the bar only to be told that we can't sit there and must get a seat from the hostess. After a few short steps to the hostess desk a young lady, later learned to be named Sophie, told us they don't seat after 10pm and to just sit at the bar. I let her know that there isn't any available seating at the bar. Without moving an inch she tells us to just sit the area to the right at the bar. I tell her there is a large trash can and 2 monitors at the area she is referring to. She again, without moving at all.. advises to sit there, so we did. Dragged a chair over, sat down next to the trash can that she felt we as paying customers should sit at, just be told by the 3rd staff member that we can't sit there. We tell her what Sophie told us. She and the bartender, Katherine, were kind enough to sit us at a table closest to bar and Kath took care of us immediately. Sophie, I'm sorry for being an inconvenience to you're night. I'm just a local, supporting local business on the night of my wedding anniversary.

Great restaurant within the Hilton Garden Inn. Wonderful food and delicious mixed drinks. Prices are reasonable and the staff no matter where you are in the hotel or dining are very gracious and friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant with an outdoor patio to enjoy the sun, stars and the ocean breeze. Whether eating or just relaxing. And I have to say for breakfast, egg omelets are absolutely fantastic. Beyond words. I cannot say enough about the establishment. Oh and Hunter at the front desk is a wonderful person who greets you with a smile and wit.

Lomg long wait, forgotten items such as refills since we waited so long. Waiter simply kept forgetting. Had to keep asking. Never got the A-1 as asked for in the beginning..both burgers were ordered medium well, meaning thin line of pink..wife's was over cooked and mine was blood red..not sire how you can obtain that with 2 burgers ordered the same, at same table to be prepared at same time, but that was how they were delivered. Fries were good. Refills were hard to get. Wasn't over crowded at all. Service should not of been a factor but it was. properfood prep was not ochieved.

Service was terrible. A server greeted us eight minutes after being seated. Not terrible, but not ideal. We ordered drinks and food right away. Someone else brought the drinks and food. Then we had to flag the server down to get our bill. She never checked on us. - The food (nachos & spinach dip) was great and the drinks (long Island iced tea) were great.

The food is amazing. Can’t say so much about the service. We were there for over an hour and were only attended to once. No refills, we had to get our own to go box, and the waitress walked by us multiple times seeing empty cups, to include walking by us having to get our own to go box and said nothing. Only time we got any interaction is when we ordered and after we asked for the bill.
