Laune Bread is highly rated and known for its fantastic baked goods. Unfortunately, I had to skip it due to time constraints—such a shame!

I love this place! The pastries are amazing and a great change of pace from the other bakeries around town. Highlights include the curry daal roll, the morning bun, the quiche, the radish and ham sandwich, whatever the seasonal Danish is, the pretzels, and the coconut macaroons.

As a covid converted sourdough baker, I sought out this place on my last morning in town for a conference. I took the bus and hovered until they opened. The curry roll I ate for breakfast was ethereal! I also got a lovely apple rhubarb hand pie, two pretzels, a loaf of the bread bread. I am so happy eating my bread bread back home and plotting my return.

Beautiful storefront with stellar bread + pastries made from locally sourced ingredients. They even offer a trade of bread/pastries for garden rhubarb. Cinnamon raisin cookie (vegan) was really tasty, as is all of the bread. Will absolutely be back!

*Updated 4/24: Laune started doing subscriptions and delivery to a number of places in town, and recently updated their app for both! We have been getting in our order on Sunday's and picking up at Dogwood NE. We always get a loaf of bread and then our weekly end of week pastries. LOVE that we can have Laune close to home. This place is THE best! *** Best bakery in town right now! This was my first time here and I got a number of things for take out. We ate every single thing we bought here, and more importantly liked it. It's a bit more of an 'earthy' bakery ~ perfect in our book. I really enjoyed the sandwich, and bought extra buns to make more sandwiches later in the week (froze them for a couple of days and they were still great after unthawing!). I was a little bummed the women in front of me slowly bought almost all the cookies they had; oh well guess I will have to come back. I really appreciate (and love to support) the effort's they make to support local farmers/use local ingredients ~ pretty amazing in this day and age. Tiff (I recognized her from their website) even came and packed up some of my goods noticing I was waiting :). The woman staffing the counter was very nice. Bright airy space (I can see if they had more seating it would be a popular hangout). Street parking (when there isn't the remnants of winter storms) seemed plentiful. The only thing I don't like about this place is that it isn't closer to where I live (Nordeast), but that makes it an extra special outing.

This is a neighborhood gem and is the place to come for rustic, whole grain and sourdough breads. Their other baked goods that I've tried including this curry roll, cheddar biscuit, and scones are also really good. The only thing I had from here that was just OK to me was their chocolate croissant. Seating is pretty limited so I have only done take out. I like that their offerings are constantly rotating with the seasons. The owner and staff are super friendly and I'm really glad they are in Longfellow!

Might be my favorite bakery in the Twin Cities area. Whole grain goodness and their savory pastries are incredible. The curry roll is a must try.

The real thing. Crusty, dense, whole-grain sourdough breads made from local ingredients; top-notch pastries and cookies too. Everything's as local and seasonal as possible. They'll trade garden rhubarb for bread in the spring. Don't expect a bread slicer, rip the bread with your bare hands and eat it on the way home.

I really love this place. Their stuff is always delicious and unique. I want to go back right now for another pastry. Don’t expect it to be your typical “perfect” French croissant, though. It’s sourdough, I believe, and it’s different. I’m a huge fan.

Laune Bread is a gem in the Twin Cities, as it would be anywhere, and yet, the notion of locality is fundamental to the bakery. The business model of locals supporting locals - food, people and knowledge - is executed with such tasteful (classy and delicious) grace. Co-owners Chris and Tiff care deeply for their community and it shows in both their sourcing of ingredients and delivery of scrumptious breads, pastries, pizza, sandwiches and more! Go in any and all seasons to see how offerings mirror the earth's cyclical bounty. You will be welcomed, fed and satisfied.

This quickly became my wife’s favorite place for pastries. Lots of seasonal flavors (they periodically pay patrons for fruit from their gardens) and technically sound bakes. We have tried many pastries, a few cookies, and on occasional loaf of bread—we have yet to get something that we don’t like.

Everything from this bakery is super delicious. We ordered several pies for Thanksgiving and all of them were the best pies I’ve ever had, and I’m not a pie person: great combination of flavors, not overly sweet like most pastries and perfect texture. Thank you for using good ingredients and good practices to make bread the way it should be made!

This place is great but they have the most unintuitive hours. Prime time for baked goods- Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday. They're closed early Friday and Saturday and closed on Sunday. Why would you close a bakery on Sunday? Anyway, I would love to stop in more often, I drive by every weekday at the wrong time.

Just do yourself a favor and stop into the bakery, say hi to the good quality peeps running the place, buy yourself a loaf of Bread Bread, eat half of it on the car ride home, then toast up a slice with a huge glob of butter and a soft-boiled egg, and transcend into the crusty, chewy, flavorful goodness that is the Laune Bread dimension. THEN tell me if you still need to be sitting on Google reviews to figure out if it's worthwhile. If I could review each item-- from the melt-in-your-mouth buttery shortbread cookies to the jaw-tingling cranberry linzers to the best cinnamon rolls I've ever eaten-- I would. Though the high-quality products are worth the return trip each week, it's the warm, intentional, unpretentious, community-oriented humans who run it that make me a dedicated customer. #sourdoughbreadisasuperfood

Everything here is the optimum version of itself: transportive pastries, sandwiches I’ve previously dreamt of but never obtained, light honey coffee, and bread that I wanna tell the world about. The people who bake, shape, and engage are warm and affable— when I wondered what kind of bread to get, they guided the decision by asking me about my plans for the day and that’s how I ended up with a focaccia that lit up a long drive across Nebraska. The life in this little shop is rivaled only by the masterful execution of every little thing.
