This is my second time coming to this establishment and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The Rib eye Bogosi was amazing, I always love the Tuna Poppers with the eel sauce. The Lazy Ragoon was really good just know that the crab meat is mixed in with the cream cheese. The Walnut Shrimp was good, keep in mind that the Shrimp, the onions, scallops are all fried. The Cheesecake tempura was great!!! Fried slice of cheese cake with oreo crumbles, powdered sugar, blue berries, and a strawberry syrup drizzle. Really good. Pretty sure that I am going to be a regular.

Hate to leave a negative review when there is good service. But the food was $80 worth of disappointment. Teriyaki chicken was extremely salty. The sushi barely and I mean barely had any fish. Mostly rice and sauce and it was NOT happy hour price or anything it was full priced rolls of expensive over priced rice. Attached some pictures rolls are literally tiny.

Was dining solo so I bellied up to the bar. Had the lemongrass mojito, which was the best mojito I have had in Frederick! Had an assortment of awesome sushi rolls that they even let me customize. Hong behind the sushi bar was absolutely fantastic, he never took his eyes off the needs of the guests, while plateing every order as well. I will say I was charged for something I did not receive, which I would normally never mention, but the couple next to be had a similar issue when paying, so it may be something to watch for. Overall a wonderful time and the sushi, and Hong, were fantastic!

Lazy Fish is my go-to spot for sushi cravings whenever we are in the area! Their signature rolls are to die for – each one bursting with unique flavors and creativity. The ambiance is relaxed, making it perfect for a casual dinner or a quick bite. The staff is friendly and attentive, always ready with recommendations. If you're a sushi lover, Lazy Fish is a must-try!

What a GREAT restaurant. It's tucked away in a cozy downtown upstairs nook. The decor is beautiful. The Staff is very inviting, courteous, and prompt. The food was amazing. It was our first time, but I look forward to returning to explore more of the menu. Pricing and portions are very fair. We were beyond satisfied with our experience. Note - because parking downtown can sometimes be an issue, it might be a good idea to park in either of the garages, which are only one block away.

We went to this restaurant on Saturday night. Upon leaving our friend who had ice tea for dinner fell down a couple of stairs and landed on the landing. Fractured her foot. There is absolutely no lighting on the steps. It so dark I’m sure others feel the same way. The owner should immediately put in lights either on the steps or just light up the entire staircase. Very upset about this.

Best sushi I've had in Frederick. Really cool setting. Only complaint is the bathroom setup as there's almost always a line.

The food was fine. Tasty, good quality, good variety. The atmosphere was excessively noisy; one of those restaurants where people have to shout to be heard across the table, which creates a vicious cycle of even higher decibel levels. The real problem -- and I reason I and my friends will not return -- was the rudeness and overall unpleasant demeanor of our waiter. He was discourteously brusk from the outset. He never introduced himself. He appeared reluctant to answer basic questions about the menu options. He served the mains before we had completed our soup and appetizer. He did not check on our satisfaction with the setups, service, or food at any point. When our party was enjoying the last of food, he placed the check folder down on the table without a word. Some minutes later, he came by and picked up the folder, not at first noticing I had not put a card in it. I explained politely that we were continuing to enjoy our dinnertime conversation. This was after all of 45 minutes at the table. After I went to the rest room, I returned and paid After that, we were apparently not moving quickly enough for his taste, as he stood over one of my friends and said, in a nasty tone, "we have a line." Given his conduct, I gave him a smaller than usual tip. I wish in retrospect I had given no tip at all. I understand the incentive of a busy restaurant to turn over tables, but if I am paying $90 at a nice downtown restaurant -- rather than, let's say, grabbing a burger at McDonalds -- I do not expect to be given a bum's rush to leave my table before a hour has elapsed. Management need to train waitstaff to do better, and to realize that they are working at a customer-service business.

Ordered from DoorDash, there is no place to ask that Vegetarian meals be packaged separate. They sent veggie rolls and meat rolls pressed right up on each other. I called to talk with a manager and immediately told me to call DoorDash, that it’s not their fault. He didn’t start with “I’m so sorry this happened” or “Let’s see how we can fix this”. Didn’t apologize at all. This is so disappointing because we love this place and the sushi is excellent, but there wasn’t a shred of sympathy, just cold dry “wasn’t me” attitude.

The ambiance was very good. I appreciated the decoration and design. It made the place feel light and fun. The food was fine. The portions were acceptable but the taste could go another level without being overwhelming. Not sure what it was missing but it was still good. The server was very nice and patient. Loved that part as well. I will recommend this place and will visit again.

Definitely an instagram-esque atmosphere, I guess that’s the trending theme these days. 🚩 Felt like service was rushing us out of the place from the second we walked in. Saigon dumplings were really mushy, overcooked. Sushi was…okay? It was falling apart everywhere and kind of bland. Anyways, thanks for the top-dollar, average experience.

I’ve been to this restaurant for both takeout and dine-in. I did enjoy it at first but over the past year, I would say the service has gone down significantly. The food is decent but they’ve raised the prices on their items significantly. Their entrees are no longer worth the price. They are giving out less food for significantly more money. The sushi is good though and the prices on those aren’t terrible.

Lazy Fish is such an amazing hidden gem paradoxically known by everyone in the Frederick area. The service is quick and nice. Our favorite menu items are The Shark, The Keys, and The Tuna Poppers. If you're dining in, the interior of the restaurant is such a chill and relaxed atmosphere. If you are ordering takeout, the food keeps really well for the commute back home. 10/10 every time we have been here.

I understand it is Valentine’s Day, but I ordered at 2:21pm for a 6:00pm pickup. When I got there, I waited 30 minutes before I even got my food. Note others who ordered after me got their food before me. The workers ignored all customers who were waiting for to-go orders and didn’t comp anything or even offer an apology. By the time I got home, we tried the food and the scallops and pork belly were over cooked. The Keys Roll included non-fresh fish and the Takoyaki roll was missing octopus, which was a main reason I ordered the roll. The food was so terrible, I ended up throwing up after trying the different items we ordered. I would not recommend this restaurant due to lack of quality of food and bad customer service. To be honest, I regret even tipping this place.

Very disappointed in this place. I called at 5:15pm on valentines day and the person who answered very rudely said they weren’t taking any more take out orders. I used to like this place but it’s went downhill.

You will enjoy this restaurant….The menu is wide…. The seating is comfortable…. Downtown Frederick restaurants are close… The ambiance is romantic…The cost is wide… Easy to find low to medium prices… Oh yeah the food is GREAT!

We had a great experience at Lazy Fish! The service and food were both excellent. I had the chicken teriyaki and the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. I recommend the Orion Japanese Beer as well. The restaurant is well decorated and has a nice vibe for a date night or hanging out with friends. We'll definitely be back soon!

Cute place, yummy food. Lazy fish has a somewhat modern spin on some classic dishes and sushi rolls. We ordered the Rockfish ceviche, pork belly, Singapore noodle, Hello Yellow roll, and Shark Tank roll, and they were all very good.

We were looking for a good sushi place and decided to check this one out! It’s a cute little place that you find down a small alley in downtown Frederick. You enter and walk upstairs to the second floor. It opens up to the very cute restaurant with a huge menu. We were greeted and sat immediately. The food came out fast and was fresh and delicious! I would recommend this place if you’re looking for some good, fresh sushi and a cute environment!

I had an outstanding experience at Lazy Fish! The service was impeccable, and the food was amazing. The lady who served us was exceptionally kind, enhancing our overall enjoyment. I wholeheartedly give Lazy Fish a 5-star rating and highly recommend it for its excellent service and delicious food.

Absolutely amazing place!! Located upstairs, you'll find the entrance on the side of the building. Small, intimate setting with a super cool atmosphere. The staff are so welcoming, the food is so delicious, the drinks are phenomenal! There's a parking garage located behind the restaurant. Super convenient.

We live in Frederick hoping for a decent sushi restaurant. We saw Lazy fish and gave it a try. We were disappointed. The food was not fresh, the miso soup was salty, and it was overly priced. Who of those think this place is good should try Yuraku in Germantown. It is better in every way. We are welling to drive down to Yuraku in Germantown if we want fresh sushi.

We were dissatisfied with the host which sat us down. My hair kept getting stuck to the flower wall backdrop where we sat; which was annoying. I didn’t want to stay there long because each time I moved my head the wall behind would move with it / get stuck in my hair. We had a reservation and requested a window seat. We were told the window seat was taken once we asked for it, but the next one would be ours. Then once we saw one open up we were told someone else had that window seat by the same lady. It was date night - the window would have put a nice touch on our evening plus kept my hair from getting stuck when trying to enjoy my food.

Really disappointed because we love this place, but had a really upsetting experience tonight. I had gone in to put our name down to be seated and our hostess said, confidently, a 20-30 minute wait for a party of 3 and we’ll call you. Easy enough. After 30 minutes we hadn’t been called so we walked over to see if there was any update. The hostess then said oh actually it’s going to be much longer and that there were now other parties with reservations. I said oh i didnt know you guys took reservations, she said we dont but we’re fully booked. But like how did these reservations come through in the past 30 minutes that they would be before us?? I said is it even worth staying and trying to grab a seat at the bar - she said hmmm probably not. Anyways kind of feel like she sat our table? Not sure, but we ended up wasting 30 minutes for nothing so that was disappointing. Hostess could care less about us and I don’t think that’s fair since we put our name down. Anyways I guess if you go, go at a really early time or be friends with this hostess to get these mystery reservations.

The food was really great, the view was great, and the atmosphere was amazing. Unfortunately, we were made to feel rushed to finish and leave, which I have not ever experienced before while eating out. This was not a good feeling as I was taking a good friend out for her birthday and her first time ever visiting Frederick. Despite the great food, I left feeling a bit disappointed we were rushed. For this reason, I personally won't return, but if you like the menu items I would say maybe give it a chance as the food is great and you may have a different experience than I did.

Place is cozy. Eye candy for a photographer like me lots of good designs inside. Food is delicious. But I wasn't blown away. Maybe I'll try a different order next time.

Really excellent sushi, apps, and noodles. The Singapore Noodles were exceptional, as was the Baltimore roll. I wish they had a lunch 2- or 3-sushi roll special.

That was the last time we went because the service person lost it because he was not agreeing with the tip he got .We should leave a lot more and yelling at us in public like he had no shame 9% is nothing .I am sorry you can’t do that be happy and appreciate what did you got your service is not on point that don’t ask for big tip .I guess the owner is fine that he has no respect because no one stop him or said anything.The food was good but the Service is horrible be aware of paying 20% and up .

Great little sushi joint in the heart of Frederick! Cheyenne was our server and she was incredible. She explained the menu, helped us decide what cocktails were for us and was just a wonderful server. Thank you!!!

Love this place! My first time here and everything was wonderful! All of the food was fresh and so delicious! The calamari is to die for! Service was wonderful! I will definitely be back when I’m in the area.

I wanted to love this place but it didn’t live up to even mild expectations. The sushi was ok. Nothing amazing or really good. Rather mediocre overall. The mixed drinks were overpriced and not really good. We ordered out dinner and 2 out of the four plates had hair in them. New plates were offered but I think they just pulled the hair and brought out the same plates. My son pointed out several cockroaches 🪳 on the floor and two on the wall. I did not want to stay. Bout server seemed very uninterested and almost as though we were an inconvenience. After our plates were returned I decided not to eat. Finding hair and seeing bugs did not make anything appear appetizing. I could never recommend going here. Save your money and find a different restaurant. This one is overpriced for mediocre food.

So … we’ve here been twice , two years apart, while the initial taste of the sushi was amazing , for the second time in a row we felt completely sick 🤢 shortly after eating there and had to end the night to rush home. Sorry but we just can’t go back ever again.

Food was absolutely amazing, and unique. Don't think you can find unique flavors of sushi anywhere else and they were all really good. Price was honestly alot less than we expected as well.

I’ve tried this place multiple times only because I feel as though it has potential, I am wrong and I will not be back. I have had sushi significantly better than here from Sam’s club, wegmans and a gas station before. The sushi is edible at best, (I left half of both rolls on the plate) the crab is mush with no flavor at all. The service was ok, the atmosphere is really cool inside which is what kept me coming back but I’ve learned my lesson. Go around the corner to Sapporo instead, it’s miles ahead of this place.

Been here about 5 times. Seems to be getting less and less. If you like sushi and sushi only this is a great spot. Small seating area and when it's busy your food and service take a while.

I've been to this spot at least three times, and every single time I've been here, it's been an amazing experience. It's a small spot and busy spot but so worth it if you visit. Service is friendly and quick. Food is always delicious! Will definitely return. My only "complaint" is that there is no sashimi and sushi combination option.

Nijiri and Sushi rolls had cold hard rice as if made hours ahead and refrigerated. Too much sugar and salt flavors. Instead of light rice flour tempura was instead a heavy doughy fry and weird shrimp. Disappointed. They can do much better.

Lazy Fish was interesting, the menu is fairly typical and not over the top and the sushi was average, I do have to say that the ceviche and Uni was quite good, well presented and fresh but the rolls feel flat for me; the spicy tuna in the rolls was over processed which made the texture odd. On the bright side the decor and ambiance was excellent, the service was also quite good. Overall a good experience if you're looking for new sushi (Americanized)

This was hands up, the best sushi!! You must get their Crab Rangoon, Dragon Lady and Lazy Spider. The deliciousness of it will make you keep ordering more. We’ll be back

Went here for the Third time for my birthday. Every time I go back, it gets better. I dont know how, or why, but they just keep raising the bar. The ceviche was devoured so fast by my family I didnt even get to taste it!, The bulgogi was well beyond my expectations, after countless meals in places like Annandale, and paying almost 2x the cost, Lazy Fish really showed them up, and with a korean dish nonetheless. I cant wait to try the ramen place now. My expectations are high.

This place is FABULOUS! Absolutely loved the lazy Rangoon. The smoky flavor has layers and layers. We enjoyed it so much our table ordered a second. I also shared a spicy tuna roll and a veggie roll. The spicy tuna melted in our mouth, but the veggie was unbelievably tasty. I’d go here again and again.

Went yesterday at 8:15pm and they refused to seat us because they just did last call, the restaurant its closing at 9pm, ridiculous to make last call 1h before closing. I went to the restaurant from downstairs, which are the same company and they seated me. If you decide to close earlier update the hours on google, but don’t make the guests to come in. I’m going over another reviews and I see you guys are very rude in responding back to what’s going in your restaurant, you don’t know nothing about hospitality and customer service. Be more nice and fix the problems and dont blame the guests. Treat the guest how they deserve because they spent their money for your services and attitude! The worst management ever!

I ordered nigiri maki plate. When I got to the tuna it tasted like a ball of moulded exploded in my mouth. I told the waitress that they should really try their tuna cos it tasted really bad. She told another staff about and came back and said that other people didn't tasted the mould so I was wrong. I didn't say anything else, when they told the check I said maybe you really want to have a taste of it cos it really tastes mouldy. Then this other waiter came said he just tasted it and everything was right it must be something wrong with me. But this whole time I saw this waiter was seating at the hostess table right in front of me, he never tried the tuna! I didn't ask for anything, they didn't even apologize, the whole time they were blaming me. I would never come back here again. L
