Wanted to dine here, but their signage says they are closed for the summer.

WANTED TO TRY THEIR FRENCH ONION SOUP!. FIRST OF ALL $11 IS HIGHER THAN MOST PLACES. SOUP ARRIVED WITH VERY LITTLE GREYURE CHEESE ON TOP. NONE FLOWING OVER THE EDGES AS MANY OTHER RESTAURANTS HAVE. COULD HARDLY TASTE THE MINISCULE AMOUNT OF CHEESE, BUT THE BROTH WAS VERY GOOD.WILL NOT GO THERE EVER AGAIN!

I love this restaurant and came here for my birthday this year. Excellent escargot and mussles! The duck is incredible! Very warm service.

Had dinner their about 7 years ago and would have given it a solid 4 then. Now, a real disappointment. The menu says 8 oz steak, but you are paying for at least 2 oz of bone. Fries weren't fresh, and though the staff didn't have an attitude, she was much less than attentive. Made feel like I wasn't welcomed.

The Chcken cordon Bleu was fantastic! Absolutely delicious.

I always know I can get amazing food at this restaurant, which is one of the real hidden gems in the region. It's a terrific escape from the bustle and constant intensity of Miami because to the laid-back vibe.

I'm french and I go there with my family. This is one the only place that's still family owned and not pricey for the quality. The service is insanely good . I worked in the restaurant industry all my life and let me tell you to see how well they are organized because it's all done by the family. The place is small and cozy but can fit a good amount of people and they only have the daughter run the entire place . She can wait on tables, hosting, bartender the 360. And the food is cook by the parents. They have a mussels special that they are known for but the entire menu is outstanding. The onion soup delicious! The pepper sauce! Reallllllll french friessss I'm going there today lol because they close for the holidays and I told my wife we going and I think she's happier thank her Christmas gift!

Discovered this awesome restaurant recently and can’t wait to go back. Warmly greeted by two lovely ladies and escorted to our table. Service was 5 star for sure and we were checked on numerous times during the evening. Appetizers of escargot and French onion soup were great. In fact, probably the best French onion soup I’ve ever had! Our entrees were incredible! Some of us had mussels which can be served numerous different ways. Their prices are moderate and a great value. For example the mussels are served with a free glass of wine, fries and plenty of bread on the table. All this for $25. The restaurant is charming with low lighting and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We have been walking by Le Comptoir for almost 2 years now and finally decided to give them a try. Wonderful French cafe/bistro featuring mussels and other French cuisine. We decided to try the French onion soup and mussels a providence. The mussels were accompanied with either a glass of wine or a beer and fries. I was especially a fan of the placemats!

Excellent food with very nice ambience. Our family enjoyed dining at this restaurant. Service was excellent too.

This place is perfect for a night out, couples, friends. Cannot speak well enough of their food, service and particularly their wide variety of mussels with pommes frite! Fantastic. They were closed for the summer, and we can't wait to go back again.

My favorite family owned French bistro. The escargot and lots of fresh baked bread are must haves, along with their mussels served with crispy fries. The duck l'orange and pork chops are wonderful for a meal as well. Bon appétit mes amis 🍽️ see you after the summer!

Wasn't really that French. Cordon Bleu was tasty but not many other dishes related to a French restaurant. I don't like to be negative but the service was ugly: was not professional or caring. Asking for tips in cash seemed fishy. The bread was good. Hardly any decent wines at all.

What a cute French bistrot! Nice decor with a garlic touch! Interesting menu, I came for an early dinner alone to enjoy some French classics! So, I started with the escargot then the mussels then the duck! Everything was spot-on! Just a wonderful dining experience without the frills! Very decent pricing for this tasty authentic classic garlic fare! Merci!

One of the true hidden gems in the area, this is a restaurant that I can always rely on for incredible cuisine. With the casual and low-key atmosphere, it’s a great break from the hustle and nonstop energy found in Miami.

The food was delicious…however, my husbands meal came as 2 small pieces of fish and nothing else with a tab of $44.00. I would have hopes for a potato or rice or veggies to have been included.

The head staff person (server?) seemed reluctant to take us, and explained that we would have to wait 20-30 min for our food. Actually, that sounded fine by us. The reality was much different. The other customers seemed to stay forever; we were there maybe 2 hours, and almost no one left in that period. So, if you are one of the (regular?) customers, you probably like this place just fine. If you are a visitor, like we were, not so much. Maybe this is a closed system. We had two types of fish. The salmon was a bit dry, and the tilapia--well, we can cook it that well, or better. Where the heck are all these awe-struck reviews coming from?

The steak was overly salted, extremely thin, and not cooked to order (too thin). Profiteroles were simply frozen - truly horrible. Bread bordered on stale. A plus was a reasonably priced, well selected, accessible wine list and a nice atmosphere. Unlikely to return.

If you love mussels, escagot this is the place to go in Hollywood. Prices are reasonable also.

We used to come to Hollywood for French at a restaurant that closed. It was a few doors down from where Le Comptoir is on Harrison Street but had a very different atmosphere. Le Comptoir offers a simple menu with emphasis on mussels with various French preparations. The white wine mussels & blue cheese mussels were excellent. French onion soup was delicious. Cordon Bleu tasty and moist. A pork medallion dish with slightly peppery flavors. And, crème brûlée, crepes & banana desserts that completed a fine meal. Inexpensive French wine (under $30/bottle) and easy service make for a wonderful experience. They are open Thursday through Sunday. Must try for mussel lovers & French food aficionados.

Good mussels and bread BUT we waited for them for more then an hour even there was just couple tables. Also, I think this place is overpriced The server was nice, the kitchen is too slow I wouldn’t come back

Went here after one of my friends recommended this place for a quality French food. First when I entered the restaurant I liked the atmosphere.The waitress was very friendly and served everything on time. I ordered mussels and it had so much flavor and freshness that I was hoping to get. I will definitely return and I recommend this place !!

Very good food at a reasonable price and very friendly. Had Escargot, Frogs Legs and a sea food meal, all throughly enjoyed.

Mussels are good, but deserts are just a shame.... They bought profiteroles from Publix ads sale them as France dessert, but it's frozen ... Services takes a too long time...

We had dinner with friends . The food was delicious . The service was great. The waitress was very polite and very helpful.

Last Friday. All tables full. One waiter. 45 minutes passed not even the glass of wine was served. Waitress mentioned "I am by myself". It would had been our third time at this place and for sure the last ONE. The first two times it was a good experience. However, it was so disrespectful to have one person attending all tables on a Friday :-(. I got up and left. My patience French husband had more patience than his Cuban wife. Good luck everyone!

Any "French" restaurant that serves Hellmans mayonnaise, should not be in business. It literally takes less than 10 minutes to make. Ribeye was as thin as a palomilla. Very disappointing. 😔

Worst dining experience ever! Plastic menus, Mayo is hellmans making in a bottle, not even served on a small plate, esgarots were not baked thoroughly as the garlic butter was not even melted and garlic was raw, the ribeye steak was so thin it looked pathetic, the bar area is used as storage and looks awful, chairs on on rollers, I could go on and on! Shame on the owner(s) to pretend this is a classic French place.

There are a few restaurants in South Florida with food/menus reflect the rich and delicious foods of France. Le Comptoir is one of them...tucked away in an inconspicuous storefront location. The food, some would say, is to die for, as well as the traditional dishes from France. And the pricing is very reasonable with most mains a la carte in the 20 dollar range and the best onion soup I ever tasted for only 7 dollars. All in all, a pleasant experience.

Wow. I was very impressed with the quality of the food. It was a Parisian experience in Hollywood FL. The Escargots as first course was delightful, Ihad the Duck as main course. WOW cooked to perfection. The sauce complemented the duck perfectly. Yes Yes I will order this again. Having grown my Summer Squash and Zucchini for decades I am meticulous about preparing these. The chef nailed this preparation. I was thoroughly impressed with the food. I would however urge to get more staffing to assist with keeping water glasses and wine pouring on point. This is one of my new fav restaurants in Hollywood.

The escargot was excellent, and the French onion soup was probably the best I ever had. My main course i had was the muscles which were just okay. They definitely needed some more spices.

Today I went to Le Comptoir withe my daughter and my sister for the first time and we were very pleased not only with the pleasant service, but especially with the food. My French husband and I went to this place last week for the first time. We loved the food and the price was not bad at all. The service was great. We are definitely coming back. Local Residents.

The mussels are always excellent. The ambience is wonderful. The staff is beautiful and attentive.

We had read about this restaurant, and decided to try it out. There were 3 tables occupied inside, with about 10 people total. I found the server, and she seated us as the only table outside, with an expression of dissatisfaction on her face. We found some tasty-sounding entries...and then waited. And waited. No return visit, no water, no drink, no nothing. Could she have forgotten about us in dealing with 3 tables? We'll never know; we gave up after about 20 min. No, I didn't go back into the restaurant after her.

I went to this restaurant with my husband, daughter and son in law. We had an amazing time. The food is excellent but the best of the best are the Mussels. You don’t need to go to France to taste this delicious Mussels with many different sauces to choose. Moderate prices and service was pleasant.

Cozy, aesthetically pleasing, and amazing service. The bread was warm and fresh, the server/hostess was genuinely kind, welcoming, and helpful and the food was high quality. I cannot recommend the mussels enough: Flavorful, tender, and reasonably sized in portion -- plus a glass of wine to boot!

Best French food I’ve had since I lived in France. Seriously!

Seafood is good, but skip the meat. The steak and pork chops are lousy, cheap meat prepared thin and chewy . Short wine list. Service is OK

From the moment we walked in, we noticed that all of the patrons eating were speaking French. That’s a telltale sign of genuine French cuisine! If you’re looking for homemade and unpretentious French food, you will be very pleased with Le Comptoir. There are very few places that know how to make escargot right. Not only did they taste great, but I think it costs $8.50 or less. Not even in Paris so you get that price. The portions of mussels are shockingly large and our server was very honest in telling us not to order two portions of mussels if we intended on ordering an entrecôte as well. They do not skimp on the ingredients. We had the Mussels Carbonara which was our servers favorite and I can see why! And every order of mussels comes with a glass of wine. The ribeye (entrecôte) was perfectly medium rare. No blood, just rare center. The bottles of wine are affordable and very nice French wines. For dessert we had the créeme brûlée which was not too sweet and so good. The service is friendly, family oriented, and welcoming. The young ladies that served us are the owners daughters and the chef is their mom. If you’ve never been to Paris, this is the closest you will get to a true Parisian restaurant. Take a trip to France with a meal at Le Comptoir.

The mussels and fries are really good. Portion is good. Free glass of wine. Service is good and in French! . Prices are very fair. I keep going back when I go down to Miami, and so do my friends They must be doing something right. .

Perfect place, very popular and with reasonable prices. They specialize in mussels, have many kinds of them. Portions are generous. Better to book ahead.

Flavourful starter, escargot with a touch of garlic. Mussels were absolutely excellent. Ribeye steak was enjoyable with well seasoned fries. Creme brulee was creamy and rolled off your tongue. Service was great. For once I never felt rushed or have a waiter lingering over me to complete my meal. For sure we will be back.

The mussels are delicious! We had a party of 9 for dinner on Father's Day. 6 of the 9 ordered the Mussels provencal. We all had the same reaction....delicious!!!! The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. If I can give more stars I would. I will go again to try the Sole.

We love the sea food Musels here. It only cost $18 for a two pound bowel! They serve. "several styles" to choose from. One more delicious then the others. It also comes WITH a glass of wine and home made French Fries! For us it makes a complete dinner! Jonathan Galente

Went for my 10th anniversary with my wife and everything was perfect. The ambience, service, cleanliness, food, location, price... everything was spot on. I'll definitely be coming back and I'd recommend it to everyone I know as well.

Been coming here for last 6 years, this place is the best for muscles, environment is simple clean, dress code is casual, family owned and operated staff is always polite and professional, kids friendly!!! Yes!

Simple and everyday French food,there is 2 main item on the menu steak and mussels. With a side of French fries,what make it french is the way they cook it,provencale,dijonaise,roquefort,mariniere,bearnaise et Bordelaise ,one tip if you buy the mussels you have right to one free glass of wine or a free beer domestic or import,also they have some typical French appetizer,snails,frog legs and onion soup,some deserts that change every weeks depending of the mood of the chef,nice place,good food,good service and while not exactly dirt cheap a very affordable taste of France in downtown Hollywood FL😁👌🇫🇷
