Great restaurant with excellent food and top service.

Soup special was overpoweringly sweet. Shrimp special was overcooked. Croque Madame was passablely tasty. Overall, waste of $100 unless you care that much about good service, high ceilings, and sandwiches you can eat with a knife and fork.

Visited Le Fat Poodle for a Sunday brunch. The food is very good and the decor is airy and comfortable.

Excellent French bistro menu and service. Professional waiters and good ambience. Ceviche of the day was excellent, as were the crab cakes and tuna tartare. Crawfish etouffe was brilliant. I wanted everything on the menu. Nice wine per glass selection. A little pricey but totally worth it. Highly recommend.

Another win for Le Fat Poodle in Old Greenwich! My family and I went there for a graduation dinner tonight & had a lovely meal. I ordered the asian-style steak tartare & fries, featured below. Other members of our party got the mussels marinara, mahi mahi tacos, and jalapeño bread pudding. We also really enjoyed sharing the sticky toffee pudding as our dessert! Don't pass on this place!

Came here for my brother-in-laws birthday and we had an incredible time. There were 8 of us and the service was absolutely incredible, we never had to wait for a drink they were always coming around to ask what we wanted to have next! We loved the ambiance and the food as well. Totally recommend the crab cake Benedict. They made my brother-in-laws birthday special and we can’t wait to go back!

I had the best experience here today. Very nice food and cocktails but really is on the top of their menu is the amazing service. At one point I was scooping out an ice cube from my water and the next thing I know the busboy brings me a glass of ice with a spoon. The manager stopped and asked how I was enjoying my appetizer ( fresh oysters! ). My server anticipated my needs and gave me space while also being attentive. The couple next to me was delightful and we had a nice chat. This restaurant makes me miss living on the east coast. I'll definitely come back when I'm back in town!

Great place for a celebration! Lots of birthday music, singing, and celebrating during our Sunday birthday brunch. The Korean Cheesesteak sandwich with candied jalapeños was the best I've ever had. The side salad was refreshing with a delicious creamy dressing.

Very good food. Went a few times since middle of last year and were considering this a local, dependable place to get good food and classy setting. The last visit though, there happened to be 2 birthdays. OMG, they crank the sound up to ear busting levels, base bursting throughout the whole building (the seats your sat on, which is not pleasant when you’re trying to enjoy digesting a meal). 50 Cent “its your birthday”, “we gonna party like it’s your birthday”, that one. Don’t get me wrong, I wish everyone a lovely occasion, I had a birthday recently but no way was I gonna subject other people to that. It’s over the top and on steroids. I think is was inappropriate to other guests to be so obnoxiously loud. Even if you wanted to sing along and congratulate the birthday boy/girl, they would never know it. I literally had to shield my ears because the decibels were “up there” and I’ve been to the loudest rock concerts on my day including Led Zep. Sorry but won’t be risking a ruined evening ever again. I think this is poor judgment and juvenile behaviour on the part of management and I even saw a waiter cringing. Just…..be aware. If that’s what you like and want, go for it, food is excellent. However, I don’t think celebratory things should be so loud and overdone, for the sake of other patrons. And I definitely don’t consider this place to be classy anymore

Very tasty food and delicious cocktails. Atmosphere was very nice and this is a pleasant place for a brunch. The service was exceptional and had a cadence down to a science. Steak Frites was a little overwhelming but overall fantastic. Wings also very tasty (photo attached)

Ate there 3 years ago and loved it. This time, it was a disappointment.

I just walked in with my girlfriend for v day. The professional manager greeted us with a smile, gave us a vip table and away we went. It was a prix fix menu, The Best oystahs. My GF is Thai, these oystahs reminded her of the old country. Tuna tartare was 5 stars. Main course was Lobster in Pasta and dover sole. This was the Best dover sole I have ever eaten in my life. Dessert was apple tart and key lime pie. Server had a moustache, handsome and 5 star excellence. I love Le Fat Poodle.

Amazing food and really everything about it is perfect.

Beautiful food, cocktails and service at this hidden gem. Wish the bar had seats. We just prefer to sit there. One suggestion to the restaurant the banquet seats are like a rollercoaster ride they need to be secured or something as I could feel every motion of the gentleman sitting nxt to us we had to move mid meal and appreciate the accommodation.

Modern French Restaurant Bistro. The staff was excellent and very attentive the food came out perfect and plenty of time between courses. It was a Tuesday night and it was busy. The presentation of each plate was spit on and the lemon sole was one of the best I have had. The wine list is great and priced reasonably. A must go for a night out just the 2 of you or a group. Great location of the main street.

The very best! I was so fortunate to get a reservation to the ever fabulous Le Fat Poodle on Friday. Ever since, it’s been all that my family and I could think about. We came to celebrate a birthday, excited by the innovative and thoughtfully crafted menu. Though Le Fat Poodle is always packed, the maitre’d, the waiter, and all the incredible staff of the restaurant work so hard to ensure every patron is well taken care of. For our family, this was so important and we felt so happy being amongst such a passionate team! We were delighted by the incredible assortment of vegetarian options at a restaurant that evokes the many nations France has influenced. It’s TRULY what French food is meant to be- from the South American influence of Suriname, to French, Swiss, Vietnamese, and Indian Touches. The spices of these many regions was well used, creating food that was tasty, unforgettable, and most importantly: a delight to enjoy. We had the nachos (the best we have EVER HAD!), the fondue (a wonderful activity and meal to have as a family), the Thai sticky wings (so yummy, the perfect combo of sweet and spicy) and probably THE BEST buratta I’ve EVER encountered- the perfect balance of the eggplant caponata to the creamy rich cheese was… AMAZING! As we imbibed on the awesome wine selection, we were met with our next set of delights: our entrees! I was fortunate to have the ravioli- it’s a fantastic plate- perfectly cooked ravioli (such a rarity) perfectly paired with a truffle flavored white sauce, seasoned wild mushrooms, and peas, a lovely crunch! It was generously served and I delighted with every bite! My brother had the pasta rojo with the fantastic eggplant meatballs! The passata Le Fat Poodle uses is FIRST CLASS- well seasoned, beautifully prepared, and sooo flavorful- it elevates the perfectly cooked angel hair and pairs so lovely the with the well spiced eggplant meatballs, making a complete dish! My dad decided to pair two unique and fantastic sides (you’ll never see anywhere else!)- the jalapeño bread pudding (a must try! DELIGHTFUL!!!) which showcased the utter care and dedication the chef takes to every recipe! And of course something that takes our ultimate compliment- the curry spinach. As an Indian family that LOVES to cook, trust us when we say we know flavor! And I assure you, Le fat poodle makes some of the BEST spinach we have ever tried. The perfect scent coming from the spinach, and the lovely crunch of the shallots on top… UNFORGETTABLE. Now I’m clearly missing a major part of what made our experience so amazing- the service. Our waiter and the staff made sure we felt so taken care of, checking on us, making us feel so so comfortable that night! Greeted to generous portions and fantastic food, our service experience made this probably THE BEST experience we have had in a LONG time! And okay… if you wanna celebrate a birthday YOU MUST come to Le Fat Poodle- they take pride in making it special. With the fantastic surround sound, we were immersed in the greatest birthday track- stayin alive x in da club- as my brother’s chocolate mousse came illuminated by a sparkler (how fun is that!) the restaurant joined us in celebration, making us have just the most unforgettable moment! We delighted in the richness of the chocolate mouse and the wonderful killer banana split before being met with four flutes of a most delicious champagne, a perfect end to a perfect night! Since Friday, Le Fat Poodle is all we can think about. About the incredible cuisine, AMAZING TEAM (seriously STANDING OVATION TO YALL!!!!!), and just… this INCREDIBLE part of Greenwich! One of the greatest restaurants IN THE WORLD (and I genuinely mean that!!!!)!!!! We will be back and will be recommending Le Fat Poodle to everyone we know… because trust me, no one should miss out on the fabulousness of this AMAZING place. It was our best dining experience in New York / Connecticut. Dishes were very delicious, very special combination of French and Indian cuisine. Waiters were very friendly and helpful. ❤️

The place is a must if you live in Greenwich, the food is fantastic. The wait staff is one of its crowing achievements. I don’t know what they put in the water there, but it works. Never left this place disappointed. Also, try the Chicken Palliard

Food is pretty good, but service was horrible. They never brought one of our dishes despite asking 3 times and left in on the check. My mom has celiac, and they brought her a dish with gluten on it, and then when we sent it back, there were still crumbs on there. She would've gotten very sick.

Great food and service. Great menu. However, the biggest compliment goes to our server, Armando. A restaurant can have the best food and atmosphere but without great service, I would never give it 5 stars. The food and service go hand and hand in my book.

Although the food was good, the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter dissappeared after we paid our bill. Waters were empty and not a soul around to ask for a drink. Overall the place has lost something. Tired and lack of fun energy like it had in the past.

The 3 stars all belong to the main dish and to our server. However, the tarte tatin was beyond disappointing: the soggy crust and overcooked apples would be, at the best of cases, an apple purée. But what really threw us off was the arrogant maître’s reaction to our constructive, discreet and respectful feedback, saying that “the problem is that YOU don’t like the pie, because our clients love it”. Well, no need to make it clear that we aren’t clients of this restaurant. We definitely won’t be coming back.

Had a nice dinner with my son. The ambience is wonderful and the service is great. The food was good, but a glass of white wine was $20.00! I will try it again with a date, not with family.

Three stars would have been five except for an obnoxious and self-absorbed maitre d who unnecessarily rushed us out of our table while other (admittedly less well-placed) tables sat empty. Food, cocktails and service were excellent, but we will not be back due to this treatment.

Loved this place! Great food and service. We had the deviled eggs, chicken paillard, steak frites, Turkish coffee, and tiramisu. Everything was good. On the negative, this is a pretty pricey restaurant ($50+ per person)

Here on a Tuesday night and the place was packed with good looking people of Greenwich CT. I was not too thrilled to dining here after 4 previous consecutive experiences of badly executed food, but I was invited here on a date (as were the last ones). Started out with delicious escargot with rich garlicky butter sauce, which was thoroughly mopped by our bread. I ordered the special night dish of duck confit cooked for 6 hours, bragged by our server. Well the duck confit came out in an unappetizing pale gray hue. It looked like it was cooked boiled, and when I had a bite, the meat tasted undercooked. I asked to get it cooked more and to make it more crispy, and came out still pale gray color but a bit more cooked in a microwave--yuck. Even if not cooked in a microwave still tasted like it was.

Old Greenwich is a quaint hamlet that is complemented by some fine dining establisments. Le Fat Poodle is a prime example. Great for lunch, this sophisticated yet easy, laid back restaurant offers an eclectic mix of fashionanly delectable cuisine. I really enjoyed my recent midweek lunch and will plan to come back soon. Highly recommended.

Great place to get dinner with family or friends. Though the restaurant is very dark, not a bad thing just has really low light which can make it hard to read menus. The food is delicious and well balanced.

My wife and I go to the Poodle every couple of months for Sunday brunch with friends. The food is very good, but great service and a confortable setting sets it apart. Try the Bloody mary. I recommend it 100%.

Great ambiance & food is delicious

In a space that was once the Old Greenwich post office, than the Old Greenwich Community Center, than a Chinese Restaurant and than Arcadia Coffee, Fat Poodle never disappoints. The best lunch spot (crowded by noon) the staff is amazing. Friendly, attentive and always keeping a watchful eye. The food is always amazing from salads to Fish tacos and everything in between. The key lime pie is a must to finish off your amazing meal.

Get past the football stadium noise level and everything else was terrific.

What a fantastic place! Where to begin... Firstly, the staff here are so incredibly kind, attentive, and accommodating. I've had great luck with being able to be squeezed in even when they are fairly full-up, and I've never had any experience here that was subpar. Their filet is so, so delicious, and I'd highly recommend their asparagus and/or frites along with the filet (medium rare or at the most medium, if I may suggest). If it's someone's birthday or special occasion, they are REALLY on point with remembering this / making notes, and effectuating a great surprise for the guest of "honor". I'd recommend this spot to anyone celebrating a great night out.

I wish I could give four and a half stars, which would be more accurate. We enjoyed our meal here and thought it was very fair for the price. The space is airy and feels like dining on some French Polynesian island. The service was friendly and attentive. The drink and wine menus have lots of interesting options. We started with oysters, which, combined with the bread served at the table, were the worst part of the meal. The bluepoints tasted fishy and left an unpleasant aftertaste that even the lovely mignonette could not kill - we left two of them on the plate. The bread was really lackluster, which seems like an easy but important thing to remedy. The escargots, however, were outstanding: garlicky, buttery perfection. The angel hair with meatballs was excellent, as well. We tried a shrimp appetiser special that looked very promising but that was ultimately undersalted and therefore not as flavorful as it might have been. In our opinion, the tiramisu is good but lacking enough of the mascarpone cream to really make it velevety and luxurious. The brownie sundae was attractive and tasty. The coffee was delicious. We will definitely return to sample more of the menu, and I'll have to have the escargot again. It's a fun, festive, quirky place.

Great place! We went to dinner following the Polo March at Greenwich Polo Club. We arrived around 530PM and only a few people were there. Within 30-45 minutes the place was packed. Great at atmosphere and amazing food! Highly recommend!

I reallly really really wanted to love this place. The ambiance is fantastic and the location really cool, but the food is disgusting. Y'all they are in there pre-cooking and reheating chicken. Chicken! Chicken is the reason I don't eat leftovers. Unlike any other protein, chicken tastes completely different from fresh versus reheated. I was first suspicious when my "cajun dry rub wings" were inconsistently warm. I worried because undercooked chicken can make a person ill. But then I noticed a taste similar to when people bring chicken to a picnic - they are not cooking their chicken upon order. Never in my life have I ever seen this. The deviled eggs were uninspired. I get deviled eggs anytime they show up on a menu and these were by far the worst. The "lump crab cake" was mostly fillers and the crab tasted nothing like what I am used to having dated a man from Baltimore area for years (Prime in Stamford has a much better crab cake). The crab cake had a previously frozen, now deep fried taste. Again I wanted to love this place but the food is awful. The only thing edible was the bread and olive oil. The service was about a 4. Too many random people asking if I wanted more wine. Calm down, I get that's how yall make your money but it is a Tuesday. If you care about how food tastes, not worth it.

Probably the most vegetarian friendly place we went to in Greenwich. Well made cocktails & apps were very good (Nachos & the eggplant). The lackluster service left plenty to be desired. Ordered the Portobello Tacos and it was just a pile of mush on a tortilla. Dish needs some serious work, couldn’t eat more than a couple bites. Server never came back to ask us how our food was. My wife enjoyed her mushroom ravioli.

Like the last time here, the kitchen team just shines with incredibly delicious food that's inventive! Plus, the kitchen's Spanish influence adds authentic dishes to the expected menu of French bistro fare. What's not to love about lunch, dinner or brunch with outdoor dining options too?! Highly recommend you make a reservation soon.

Tout d'abord le service était excellent et attentionné. Le serveur est même allé chercher du jus pour notre enfant au magasin l'autre bord de la rue ! Endroit où on peut venir de manière décontractée autant que lors d'une soirée plus chic. Clientèle essentiellement aisée avec bonne sélection de poissons et autres classiques de la cuisine française. Le saumon était un peu trop cuit mais excellent. Fondue au fromage et salade de calamars un délice.

We had an amazing lunch at this lovely establishment. I was traveling through CT, looking for a place off I-95 for lunch. Based on the reviews, I selected this restaurant. It does not disappoint! The food was outstanding.

A favorite of mine. Anshu and team always have a fun, eclectic menu marrying classic French bistro cuisine classics with global twists. The wine list is also not to be missed with a nicely curated mix of Old World and New World wines (especially heavy on French wines) at approachable pricepoints. Don't sleep on dessert either. From the seasonal gelato flavors to the Vietnamese coffee, there's always something that will end the meal pleasantly and perfectly.

Good food, great service. I would suggest a little more attention needs to be focused on the complete dish as some parts were fantastic and others were poorly executed. Menu had typical upscale bistro fare with some good fish options. Prices were high but acceptable. Looking forward to going back when the chef is in the kitchen.

Inspiring food! It was deliciously filled with flavor. Tasty drinks, rich wine selection, and great cuisine. Nice and romantic music that compliments the classic look of the dining room. The high ceilings, impressive indoor palm trees, and unique decor allow a sophisticated ambiance to come through. Friendly and caring staff, the service all over was great. We did feel appreciated, my friends and I have something to remember! I'd give it six stars if I could. We'll definitely come back for more good quality time. Merci beaucoup et Bravo!

Tucked off to the side of the classic Americana and just too quaint, clean, and posh downtown shopping district, Le Fat Poodle is a bistro that definitely reaches for the stars. The poodle adorns a large wall in the back overlooking your meal with a plump yet satisfied demeanor, it's expression at once whimsical and yet asking: is that all? Wouldn't you like just one more bite? And indeed, if there is any problem with Le Fat Poodle it's just that, you always want one more bite. The menu is eclectic including French, Tex Mex, and Indian selections, every one at once authentic yet original. I had a steak, perfectly seared, with onion rings you want to just shove all at once into your mouth... but for that would be rude and uncouth! The service was impeccable. The old fashioned I washed it all down with was just right. When we rolled away on our bellys, and out the door, I was so satisfied that I could barely eat my cake later, what a world!

My wife and I have eaten here several times for dinner and really loved our food. The menu is creative, the ambiance unique - a sort of Casa Blanca French Moroccan vibe. But today I tried lunch for the first time. Our waiter highly recommended I try to Chicken Paillard. When it arrived, it looked thinner than other Chicken Paillards I have I had. When I bit into it, my mouth was greater with a mixture of burned pancake, dry chicken-nugget, and cardboard. I have eaten many a Chicken Paillard in my day and I this resembled none of them. I ate the salad on top but left 80% of the chicken and waited to see what the restaurant would do. They did ask how I liked it, which should have been obvious by the fact the "meat" was barely touched, and apologized when I said I didn't. I waited to see if they would cross it off the check, which is what I would have done during the years I spent as a waiter at college, but they didn't. Now the service otherwise was great. And this is the first time I have had a bad experience here. I highly recommend the restaurant ... but avoid that dish.

I’m countering my boyfriends 2 star review of this spot with a 4 star review 😆. I had a great time at Le Fat Poodle! I think the vibe is really fun and upbeat with all the pumped up birthday songs. It has a better energy than most restaurants in town. I thought the food was pretty good too. We had a bunch of shared apps and I got steak frites which were delicious.

Best restaurant in town. The none marrow is to die for, but most importantly, no matter the mood you're in there's always something for you here. Great atmosphere and hospitality, and food to match. You can't go wrong.

Food was pretty good. Didn’t have a table ready for our reservation so we had to wait outside for 15 minutes. They had like four birthday celebrations where they crank the music incredibly loud that it hurts your ears if you’re near a speaker and you aren’t able to converse while they sing a birthday song. It’s weird to have that quality of food and that price and then have the atmosphere ruined multiple times by birthday celebrations that you would see at Chili’s.

My day and I met one of her friends here. Very French atmosphere. The fondue was delicious. We shared also the quiche. Would go again.

Le fat poodle This really is a charming place. Super fun atmosphere, earnest service, a well-priced wine list with a solid variety of selections, and an eclectic menu. A previous reviewer seemed mad that they didn’t get the seat they wanted because the table was being reserved for a five top, and that five top didn’t show, a not uncommon, but staggeringly rude, occurrence. How on earth can a restaurant be held to task for the inactions of the customers? Absurd. The vibe was great. Fun birthday celebrations abounded on our visit, the decor is well-done. The food however is mediocre at best. Nothing was bad, but everything lacked flavor, spice, umami, etc. and we had a variety of dishes and desserts. Well, the onion rings *were* very good. But the cheese tray, $24, had the most bog-standard supermarket cheeses, Brie, blue, etc., none of which were any good. Super over-priced. I didn’t finish it and I always finish a cheese plate. It is a diverse menu, offering, for example, steak Frites, blackened Cajun salmon, and chicken tikka masala. That’s certainly a global mish-mash. One wonders if the chef is aiming too broadly. A disappointment food-wise, but if that’s not a deal-breaker and you’re looking for a fun night out, this place is fine.

Nothing on the unique and diverse menu disappoints. If you see anything less than five stars on this site the problem is the contributor not the talented and professional folks at Le Fat Poodle.

The food is great if overpriced, but hey this is Greenwich. The ambiance is great also. On second thought, it isn't overpriced, it's just that supply prices have gone through the roof.

We went with friends and had a wonderful experience. We ate outside where the tables were separated nicely. The menu had a lot of nice choices. My wife had escargot which she really enjoyed and said were delicious. My friend and I shared the fondue which was easily the best fondue I ever had out. We had filet mignon and steak frites which were cooked perfectly. Desserts were delicious. Our server was professional, polite, friendly and informative. Prices were about average. We shall return.

I had a very nice lunch here with my mother and several siblings a couple weeks ago. I had the 'Croque Monsieur' and they did an excellent job on it. All around was good food, nice portions and thoughtful, attentive service.

This place has become our default for an excellent all around experience during the pandemic. All of the protocols they follow just makes me feel so much more comfortable. The food is consistently fantastic and if you go for lunch try the korean cheesesteak and the wings!!!

I go in and the waiter leads me to a table and I gets a water and leave because the menu look bad so I got my drink and found a Joe chicken by the wendys and I got me a highscholler with bbq sauces and a coke because the water from this place was too little but it taste good cuz the ice made it cool so it was a refresgijg thing to drink in my way cuz I was walking and my legs hurt cuz i was gonn in circles around a parking lot trying to find chicken joes but I saw the chipotle acmes and cvs so I went back and after like an 1 hour I got a hitch hike to the place and I found 5 bucks on the ground so I could get some drakes candyes from joes chickens and I was full so I walked to my house using the ways app like I was walking in the side of the highway bro I saw a lot of dead anemals and stuff thry was flatter than my French fries after I sat on one bro so I give this place a 4 cuz i lik there water and cuz it was able to get me a better meel at chicken joes in grenwhichct
