This is my favorite place to get Indian food in Richmond! The food is delicious and reasonably priced, the restaurant is clean, and the staff are great.

The waiter is unfriendly and took long time to take the order.

Came here first time but food was not pleasant at all. Appetizer quantity is around three pieces and served with lots of the same type of gravy whether be lamb or chicken would not come back again

The food is really good, but TRIPLE check any takeout orders and ask they mark each item with its name. The last THREE times getting takeout either items were missing or just wrong. Ordered butter chicken along with two salmon dishes, ended up getting Tofu. Butter chicken is likely the most popular dish, how does that get mixed up with Tofu?! As much as I like them, we will be visiting other Indian restaurants from now on. They never refund you, just say “tell us next time you come.” Well, we don’t go that often and definitely don’t anymore.

My man and I love this place. This place has huge portions for the low prices. The food tastes fantastic and I will continue to come back here for Indian food. Would totally recommend this place for anyone who also likes spicy food. They have spice levels for those who love spicy food like myself.

This restaurant has to be on everyone’s radar! It’s clean, well designed inside. We received a warm greeting when walking in. Placed a carry out order. Food was prepared fast and served hot. Their Chicken Biryani was the best I’ve ever had! And that’s saying something.. I can’t wait for many more return trips. Plus portion sizes are great!

We came to this restaurant in August 2020 while visiting University of Richmond and liked their food a lot. Today after 4 years went again on the way back to NJ food is still very good especially chholey bhature. I would highly recommend if anyone is around Richmond VA to try their cuisines.

From the moment you step into Lemon, you're greeted with the warm, inviting aroma of spices and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The service here is impeccable; the staff are not only attentive but also eager to share their knowledge of the menu, ensuring you have a delightful dining experience. We ordered a number of things… I had the dal which was incredible and my friend had the butter chicken. Everything including the garlic and cheese naan we ordered was delicious. Would definitely recommend and come again because the portion sizes are perfect to share.

If you're thinking of ordering takeout, just know you're playing Russian roulette. Lemon has been my favorite Indian restaurant in RVA, but this portion size is unacceptable, even for lunch. They gave me 4 small cubes of chicken. And filled the container with sauce to hide it. I've never had a bad experience when dining in. But this is not the first time they have disappointed me with a takeout order. One other time being a similarly small portion for dinner, and another time where I was given a rancid rose lassi. Neither I nor my wife could drink it, so it was thrown out. I won't be ordering from them again.

Food was amazing and equally matching atmosphere ! But thr biggest highlight was the service! Mr Harry was very friendly and made our time memorable! Definitely coming back!

The chicken curry lacked flavor and was undercooked. The Tadka Dal, a staple dish, was unexpectedly dense and overly thick. As for the dessert, the kheer seemed to have been made with undercooked rice and milk, resulting in a texture reminiscent of cereal rather than the expected creamy consistency. This was my first and last visit to Lemon.

The Lemon Kitchen provided an exceptional dining experience with its vibrant atmosphere and delicious dishes. Special mention goes to Mr. Harry for his outstanding service; his attentiveness and warm hospitality truly made our visit memorable. Highly recommend!

We’ve only ordered so I can’t speak to service or atmosphere but the food has been so delicious all 4 times we’ve gotten it. Super delicate balance of flavors in each dish. The garlic naan is perfect. Highly recommend!

The food was fantastic!! Sauces were all great consistency and very flavorful. Down to the house made “Achar” (Indian pickle) The staff was kind and efficient (I dropped my phone and they hurried over to try to pick it up for me) aas well as above the expected dinner service. Price is also very reasonable. This will be our go to Indian spot in Richmond, VA. See you soon!!

I’m from California and accustomed to having delicious Indian food since childhood. I don’t know or understand exactly what is required to create the delicate and complex flavors in exceptional Indian cuisine but oh boy do I know when I taste them. I received excellent lunch service on a Tuesday and a warm welcome for it being my first visit along with a couple extra morsels. My gratitude is maximum! I recommend this place.

Lunch deals were delicious and affordable! Enough to save for leftovers. Timothy was very kind and a great server. Would return time and time again!

I love this place ! My daughter and I come all the time. The food and naan are delicious. I’m a pescatarian who mostly eat veggies! The veggie biryani and baigan bahaar are amazing & the apps are great! The staff is very friendly :)

Guys please do not go to this restaurant, we had worst experience ever. It’s not just us but our other friend had the similar experiences. So there is a turban guy ( sardar man) who takes the order and he is very arogent, we can’t explain everything here but please do not go there and give attention to these kind of restaurants, and they are racist. To be honest I feel like suing this restaurant for such behavior

As someone who enjoys world-record level spicy food, I am cautioning you to pick a comfortable level, as the double Indian hot is spicy enough to make you lay down for a while. Very delicious, and VERY spicy. This place is a true gem for anyone seeking an authentic taste of India, and their willingness to provide delicious, generously portioned dishes stands as a testament to their culinary excellence.

The food was the best I've had in Richmond. The place doesn't look like much from outside, but it's actually really nice inside. I had the egg Briyani and my husband had the lamb briyani.

I found this restaurant to be very bittersweet. The service and atmosphere was all just fine, but the food was SO spicy!! As a high spice tolerating person, I found the chicken 65 to be incredibly spicy. It might’ve just been my meal, but be aware of the spice level if you can’t tolerate that kind of spice.

So good! There is a dedicated parking lot and you can already smell the spices and deliciousness just from the parking lot. (This is the first plus because they have a dedicated parking and you don’t have to shuffle on w broad street trying to find street parking.) Plenty of seating and great customer service. I tried the chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi and garlic naan. Everything was fantastic and portion sizes were decent. Rice was also delicious. You can adjust the level of the spiciness based on your preference. Also pretty reasonable prices too in this inflation… Really enjoyed dinner tonight and would definitely come back.

Second time at lemon. I had the curry goat. And my girlfriend had the lamb to come around for her birthday. Everybody always pleasant. Good customer service food is great. Have to go.

Legit fantastic, dont expect like 5star Michelin level indian but the value and quality are legit. Was honestly surprised by how much I enjoyed eating here. Had goat Buriani, chicken Tika, samosa, rice pudding, soup, and palak. Everything was very good. I was too busy enjoying it to take pictures lol

I honestly don’t know what all of the hate is about. This is the best Indian food in RVA in my personal opinion. The lamb biryani is always on point. Seasoned well, good portions and lots of meat. Everytime I visit I am pleased.

I once had Indian food that was so good I almost started crying - it was one of the first times I had ever tried it, and it was nothing like what I remembered from previous times. The four or five times I ate it after then were a huge let down, and eventually i stopped even trying and just assumed that I didn't like Indian food (despite that one experience.) Then I ate at Lemon, and it was every bit as good as that first time. Amd I've eaten here several times now, and it has been reliably delicious - it wasn't that I didn't like Indian food, but that apparently I just don't like most indian restaurants. Lemon is the exception. Lemon's food is incredibly flavorful, and their balance and use of spices is perfect. Even if you are like how I was and think you don't like Indian food, give Lemon a chance, and be sure to get lots of appetizers, too! Out of all the restaurants I've eaten at in Richmond (and that is many, many restaurants), Lemon's food has been the best.

Lemon is the best Indian restaurant in Richmond, period. The meal begins with complimentary thin, crispy bread and three house chutneys for dip. The appetizers and cocktails are fresh, delicious, and incredibly affordable. I recommend the Papri Chaat, which is a cool chickpea dish with onion and sweet sauce and the Paneer 65 which is a hot cheese dish glazed with spicy Chile sauce. For a beverage, the Saffron Ginger Drop is light, crisp, refreshing, and the perfect cool counterpoint to a spicy dish. My favorite entree is the Chicken Biryani, which is, quite simply, a revelation of flavor. A round or two of garlic naan and raita for the table are also always a good idea. The service and atmosphere are also both wonderful. The folks at Lemon take pride in everything they do and they are masters of making a meal into a fine dining experience.

If there was a higher star rating possible to give, Lemon would undoubtedly receive it from me. I have lived in Richmond since 2017 and yesterday when I visited was easily my favorite dining experience I have ever had. From the incredible service (Harry is THE BEST) to even Better food. I was so impressed by everything. I am Filipino but for some reason this food tasted like home? Not in the flavor sense but more so feeling. You won't get what I mean until you try it yourself. I got the Seafood Kadhai with shrimp and scallops, my roommate got the Butter Chicken but I am sure everything on the menu would be just as good depending on your personal preferences... all in all, a wonderful experience and I definitely will be back. The food here was excellent. All staff was wonderful as well! The butter chicken and samosas were absolutely amazing!!! They let you pick your spice level which was good considering we had someone with us who is sensitive to super hot food. All around great place and I would absolutely recommend to anyone!

Arrived with a large group at 7:30 PM Saturday night, we had called ahead for a reservation. We were a party of 12. After being seated, it took 1 1/2 hours to place our food and drink order. Food finally came out at about 9:25 PM, two hours after we arrived. The service staff and kitchen were clearly unprepared to handle the business. NEVER go here, unless you hate every other Indian place in town. Bring a 2000 piece puzzle to work on while you wait.

Tasty food, good vibes, and very friendly/helpful servers. Got the lunch special (chicken tikka masala and lamb saag) and it was a great deal - included a salad, the main (with rice), a side, and a small dessert. Also got the garlic naan which was a hefty size and maybe the best I've ever had. All came out to about $36. Wonderful experience!

So, my good friend from India invited me for lunch and it was beyond! Great atmosphere, very family friendly, greatest service. You can’t go wrong!

Chicken was tough and cut too large. Wait staff had zero personality and were slow. Kept forgetting our drinks. Very unapologetic.

The butter chicken was delicious! But my rice had LOTS of long white hair in it. I couldn’t eat it. I was very disappointed.

My fiancé introduced me to this place while we were dating and it became a regular lunch spot for us. We recently went for dinner and boyyyyy it was flavorful, delicious and so much food. The atmosphere alone is a sight to see. They have the best Jhalfrazie I’ve ever had. I had the goat option and it was to die for. So tinder, so much meat, it was just perfect.

This is probably top 5 of indian foods i had in USA. They just keep giving you complimentary stuff llke 20 dollars worth. Food is cheap and excellent 👌.

Food is really awesome , well worth the money. Appetizers esp fish fry is cooked to perfection. We went as a group and tried both non veg and vegetarian dishes , all tasted equally good . Complimentary salad and dessert are added bonus .

One of my first jobs as a teenager was working at an Indian restaurant. Dishwashed with the cooks, and got my first taste of Indian food… I can’t speak to authenticity, but I flashed back to those good memories. Food is out of this world… best samosa I have ever had! The garlic mama is as incredible. Looking forward to the $3 happy hour 😎

The very worst service I have ever experienced in Richmond. The nan and the rice were stale! We celebrated an 80th birthday here and the staff were flippant, unprepared and had us waiting to be served for an hour and 8 minutes! Then, as we were completing our lunch the staff actually had the audacity to say they were locking up and needed to close. I was appalled at their lack of hospitality and never order the nan - it’s a week old at best

Service wasn’t bad although they were a bit confused with our orders a few times! They are super proactive on filling waters and gave a good amount of complimentary naan! The mango lassi is what i always get and I also ordered the chicken tikka masala, I recommend this for a lunch place! They got busy pretty quick, the atmosphere was not bad either! We got a choice of soup or salad with our dish as well as dessert at the end!

Came here for the first time with a friend and got their lunch special. We were both surprised at the amount of food and I don't think we are eating anymore for the rest of the day. Service was attentive and I think my favorite part was the soft yet crispy naan. I got the lamb and it was so tender and fell apart in your mouth. I also like that they have their own parking lot!

Upon my arrival, I was struck by the placid atmosphere within a somewhat busy eatery. The peace was broken only by the kindness bestowed upon me by three wise men with youthfulness masking their depth. I was given sound advice regarding a fine strict vegetarian dish. In moments, dishes poured from the kitchen onto the bar in front of me. I was treated to an Indian/Americana fusion tomato soup. It was a boldly spiced tomato base that you might expect to be served alongside a grilled cheese sandwich on naan bread 😉. The main dish(es) were equally delicious, yet a bit more authentic. Nothing could have stood up to the authenticity of eagerness exuded by my hosts to make my experience enjoyable. With such exuberance in a young crowd, one can’t help but feel optimistic that this time and place is just as it should be. Namaste. 🙏

Absolutely pathetic food & service.... They have served us cold biryani.. The Anar dana lamb comes out to be just lamb which isn't chewable .... The guy comes saying he is the manager & Timothy comes saying that he is new guy... Its absolute pathetic.... Therefore Gary the owner came out & apologized but waiting for about 45minuted goes waste... I don't recommend

Love the chutneys served with the food here. The cumin and herbs chicken skewers were juicy and quite good. The chicken biryani was not so great, would skip this the next time.

We just had a nice lunch at Lemon Cuisine of India. We took enough leftovers home to cover dinner too. The food was delicious; the service was great. The ambiance was great. I would highly recommend it.

Visited on labor day lunch and had an awesome experience. Kalaunji Pudina chicken. Veggies Patia were awesome. We got complementey Veggie Korma which was well done as well. Naan were soft and freely made. We got hot Gulab Jamun on house as well which were good too. Ambience, service, food quantity was above average. All in all had good experience

Food was amazing. Saag was mouth watering. Would definitely visit again and recommend to friends. They did offer dessert as a compliment. Clean restroom. Parking next door for free. Prices are different for lunch and dinner. Prices are low compared to other indian restaurants but flavourful.

Kunal took such great care of our party of 5. He deserves all the raises! He went the extra mile making us feel welcomed which made the food taste even better than it already is. Great restaurant, great atmosphere, great people.

The curry was pretty tasteless and certainly felt like it was missing something. The heat level was good but the curry itself was just bland. Definitely would recommend heading to one of the other Indian restaurants in town. The lunch special was a lot of food but most Indian restaurants have good specials as it is.

The owner was very friendly, considerate, accomodating to all our requests. Great food and service. The owner opened up the banquet hall for our event. Family enjoyed with music and henna artist.
