Had the opportunity to visit Liberty Pole's amazing location in Washington PA. The place is beautiful. Lots of wood and natural light. Plenty of seating. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We did a free bourbon tasting and then ordered some cocktails. All were delicious. If we lived in the area we would be here a lot!

Gotta say, been here a lot and the atmosphere is stuff. And yeah, honestly, would I recommend, as a place to eat?, yeah, I guess. Well firstly, it’s a place to get drinks. So that’s good, but, just remember, I’ve got drunk here. So be careful. Never been here before, excited to try . On second thought

I went into the store looking for a specific bourbon. It was not there and so in an effort to try something new and also support a local distillery I bought the peated bourbon from Liberty Pole. Wow! What a pleasant surprise. It holds up to peated scotches costing twice as much! Try it!

Another wonderful visit. We had a couple of exceptional mixed drinks and scored one of the last bottles of Single Barrel High Rye Bourbon (from the other barrel named Darryl).

Just took an excellent little tour over there, and had the peated rye for the first time -- it's such a nice whiskey, I would bet that you'll like it if you try it.

We booked a tour on a Friday night. The building is beautiful and so are the folks running it. Jeff was a spectacular tour guide with a wealth of knowledge and history. Spirits were delicious and we purchased their Rye whiskey and the Bourbon Crème which is delightful. So glad we had this opportunity during our visit here. Will definitely return when back in town again.

Went on another great tour this evening...Jeff by far is the best tour guide ever.. we went on a tour a few years back in Washington. (My husband's favorite birthday gift ever so I went for a repeat at new location and Jeff did not let us down). We love Jeff's sense of humor, his knowledge of everything whiskey related and just his personality. Sorry to the kids of Washington county on loosing out on a great teacher but great job Liberty Pole. ( we did miss the drink included in the previous location with the tour but still got a drink and it was great) . The peated rye whiskey will always be our fav but I loved the already mixed Ole fashion it was great and highly recommended. Thanks again for another great night. We plan on bringing another set of newbies when the weather gets warmer and we can sit outside!! Thanks again to Jeff....top notch tour guide!!!!

Our family of six took their tour and tasting. Excellent experience and excellent spirits. This is a newer distillery opening in 2016. We’ve toured some very large facilities in Kentucky and Ireland. While much smaller, the experience was on par with the well known international brands. Their products were excellent as well. The Rye was smooth and easy to drink, the bourbon was outstanding. There are numerous other choices, most of which we really enjoyed. They have a very nice bar/ tasting room with views of the production area if you don’t want to take the tour, and a well appointed store to take some home. Highly recommended.

Must do their distillery tour if you have a couple hours to spare. Jeff our tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable explaining everything about how they have crafted their amazing ryes and bourbans plus telling their story as a distillery. All of the staff we had the pleasure of talking to was friendly and inviting making us feel like we were long time regulars to their bar and store. Will definitely be coming back as often as possible.

I tried your rye whiskey through finewineandgoodspirits and thought it was delicious so I ordered a bottle of your Peated Rye through libertypolespirits. It's beautiful... Bold, and sweet, smokey, fruity and spicy with delicious tannins. It's cohesive and at a perfect proof without any off-putting flavors. Superb whiskey, you got a new fan in Philly.

These are some of the best people I know serving the hands down best in craft rye whiskey and spirits. I own a beverage catering company and they were the only distillery I considered for our private event bottlings. We cannot wait for their expansion and to see where they take this brand next. I'm not sure if they're booking events for next year at the new distillery yet, but I for one would be tuned in to their updates if I was looking for an awesome venue.

Really enjoyed a quick visit here today. Took a brief tour, learned some American history, and sampled/purchased some fine spirits. These guys are passionate about what they do and it shows.

Bought tickets for a tour for Christmas, what an amazing gift it was! The tour was extremely in depth, and the tour guides were so friendly. The building itself was beautiful and the cocktails were like nothing I have ever experienced before. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Spent some time here on new years eve. Before it got too busy. I was a rookie compared to my friends that took me, but the staff hit me up to speed and I didn't just have awesome drink, but got an education on why I was enjoying it. We got to look around the place as well. I wish them well in their larger location and hope they keep this small historic building open as well

A little gem in Washington, I was visiting and needed a last minute gift, their bourbon was smooth, but I fell in love with the bourbon cream. Bought one of each, and was back an hour later getting two more Bourbon Cream s. I will definitely be back for more my next time thru.

This place is great. They have some of the best of not the best pa made whiskey. Special releases to shake things up occasionally. Their regular product line is great though. The atmosphere at the distillery is welcoming and the drinks are delicious. They also participate in annual events that are a great time with live music

We stopped here on a random Tuesday afternoon while on an adventure for my husband's birthday. The family that runs this distillery is welcoming and knowledgeable. They dropped everything to give us a tasting and show us around. I would recommend driving here from anywhere because all of their whiskey was some of the best I have ever had. I enjoyed it so much it motivated me to leave a 5 stat review on every review platform. I hope I can bring my friends back to try it.

Really cool place, and the staff was so nice and accommodating. Even while they were really busy on a Saturday they walked us through each type of bourbon/whiskey and let us do tastings of them all. Would recommend checking it out!

In between meetings today in Pittsburg, PA found this great small batch distillery who taught us about the history of the Whiskey Rebellion and the importance of Pennsylvania in making great whiskey, especially the ryes. For sure Liberty Pole Spirits got it right. From corn whiskey, peated whiskey, bourbon whiskey, rye and bourbon cream, this family of whiskey lovers got it right. For all our friends in PA, Ohio, West Virginia and other parts of the the U.S., Liberty Pole Spirits is worth a stop here just off I-70 in Washington, PA. I toured the distillery last weekend and was thoroughly impressed. I have never reviewed any product or business... ever! However, the tour and the whiskeys were so enjoyable I felt compelled to show my appreciation for a company that is doing it the right way - crafting great products, creating an authentic experience and caring about their customers and their industry. Jim, the owner, gave us the tour. He credited his wife Ellen with creating the amazing ambiance of the meeting and dining rooms. He showed us how they distill whiskey, explained the interesting history of early whiskey-making and tax rebellion in frontier Pennsylvania and skillfully lead us through the tasting of all of their spirits. Afterwards, I got a chance to talk with Jim and learn more about his business, whiskey-making and the Whiskey Rebellion. He was so generous with his time! I was so impressed, I bought 3 bottles and a very cool and witty t-shirt. More importantly I came away with a better appreciation and knowledge of whiskey and Western PA history. Thank you Jim and Ellen! I'm enjoying your excellent whiskeys and I look forward to seeing how your business grows.

We did a tour of their facility and the owners were incredibly knowledgeable not only in the process but the history of American Whiskey. Their Bourbons and Ryes are not only top tier but reasonably priced.

Wow. There are so many wonderful things to say about Liberty Pole. The cocktails before our tour were delicious, well curated, and one of a kind. The January Special I had really showcased the deliciousness of the Peated Bourbon. Our tour was awesome and full of fun facts and history about the area. I love learning about what historical events have taken place in the area that I am from. At the end of the tour, the tasting was great. The group I was with bought several bottles of bourbon, all reasonably priced. We had a small misunderstanding, but the owner took care of it and truly went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. We will definitely come back and will enjoy our bourbon until the next time!

While this rye whiskey was absolutely the best I've ever had the price point was perfectly acceptable in comparison with the spirits I usually buy here in Chicago. An amazing effort has been put in to this product and every regard from the facilities to the actual product in the bottles. I have already verbally strongly recommended this to everybody that I have spoken to today having returned to work after my weekender in Ohio and Pennsylvania. My wife's only question is will they ship it to us all the way over here without being able to I.D. us! :-) Outstanding all the way around... strongly recommended and well worth the trip to beautiful Washington Pennsylvania. Trust me, I am going to take my time with this bottle that I brought back.

Tasted and bought several whiskeys. Had the grand tour of the distillery. Staff was super friendly and helpful. What a gem! Beautifully decorated - you feel like you stepped back into the 19th century. Very clean and pleasant.

I mean where do I even start. Jim the owner was just a fantastic guy. Tried samples of all their whiskey they had and honestly they all were 10/10. Took a tour of the distillery and I was just in awe the whole time. Great place to stop if you can with a tremendous atmosphere. Make sure you have a DD tho because you will be leaving with a big smile on your face!

I've been to many distillery tours, mostly in Kentucky. As a local, Liberty Pole intrigued me to visit. I was not disappointed, to say the least. Whiskey's history is right in our back yards in southwestern Pennsylvania. Liberty Pole and the family that formed the brand did not forget that in their endeavors. The tour quickly introduces you to the history that surrounds you, then you interact with the family and staff on the craft that is whiskey making. The detail and interaction of the tour are much more genuine and unique than any distillery tour that I've been on. And the thing is, they make great whiskey, too. From the peated bourbon, the best bourbon cream I've had, to their approach to a genuine "Monongahela" rye, this isn't just a front. Liberty Pole is a must stop for anyone in the area. Whiskey connoisseur or not, you will learn something and enjoy a genuine, inviting experience.

This was our first time at Liberty Pole. I just Tasted their Bourbon, Rye, and Peated bourbon last week. The bar was filled with happy customers. We got to sample some other whisky... Really recommend the Bourbon Cream! Jeff gave us the recommendation to go in the back and "just tell them Jeff sent you!". What a wonderful experience we had! We got a private tour with Rob and Kevin, and enjoyed great conversation with the owners and family. We will definitely be back!

I made last minute detour on my way home to Ohio to check out this craft distillery. The main draw to me was of course the chance to try a peated bourbon. First off off the aesthetics of this place are great and I loved learning about the story behind the branding. The distiller and family were all there that day for bottling and they where the greatest hosts. Walking me through the tasting and even sipping with me so we could exchange tasting notes. The distiller is truly passionate and knowledgeable about his craft, experimenting with not only peat but also a unique bloody butcher corn. This red corn gave all thier whiskey a pleasently creamy feel with a leather earthy note that sets it apart from the standard off-the-shelf brands. I want to personaly thank the distillery for sharing thier passion and for a taste of a cast strength honey barrel (amazing!). They made a fan, and I will be watching to see what they do as thier whiskey continues to age. Oh and the peated bourbon didn't disappoint.

This is a must visit shop if you're in the Pittsburgh area. The shop has a ton of charm and fun whiskey decor. The business is ran by a friendly family that does their best to deliver a supreme experience with all their patrons. It was remarkable to hear of their humble beginnings and to see their success grow. Well deserved and I'm sure there is more to come out of this distillery.

Super friendly folks that are willing to talk shop over a glass of any of there expressions. Also, there latest bourbon proves top notch bourbon doesn't havye to be made in Kentucky. Every so often no matter the brand, all the cuts are on point, the stars line up and that perfect distillate finds its perfect barrels. ls.

We had our second tour of Liberty Pole this afternoon and it was even better than the first! Everyone here is so passionate about what they do and it’s so obvious in the whiskey. The whiskey is amazing (leagues better than Wigle in my opinion) and absolutely worth the drive from Pittsburgh. Cant recommend enough. We left with 4 bottles :)

I don't do many reviews, but these guys deserve a shout out in some way. My girlfriend and I visited after hearing about this place from a liquor store. We finally got around to it by chance one day, and when we came in we were immediately greeted by one of the sons I believe. He had some extra time and took us on a tour, showing us the stills in the back and the barrels down below telling us about everything along the way. I have to say it was a true above and beyond experience, you could tell he loved his job. We tried just about everything they had to offer, and all of it was good. My personal favorite was definitely the peated bourbon, but I think anyone who likes whiskey could find at least one flavor that they liked. If you live in the area and like whiskey, I would definitely recommend visiting them. If you're visiting the area, this is a cool place to learn a little about the history of the Mingo area and the Whiskey Rebellion, and then have a good drink after.

Meeting the owners and having a fantastic drink was the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Jeff, the bartender, can make a mean cocktail and Nick really knows his Whiskey. When talking with Nick, he makes you feel like you’ve known him for 10 years.

Beyond the time period decor, charming owners & the upper stratosphere (award winning) distilled spirits...there is a hint of subtle humor throughout to be appreciated. This business is...without a doubt, a stellar polished gem in a quaint setting!

Took a harley group there and wow! The bourbon whisky is one of the best ive ever had...smooth as glass! The creme...bailey-ish is also tremendous. Its family run and they are very hospitable....definitely stop if u like a good spirit and an even better experience including a little whiskey rebellion history!

We had an issue with the bottle we had purchased originally, Jim was quick to help and even gave a complimentary beverage. We will definitely be repeat customers! Kevin guided us through the entire process including the best caterer for our Whiskey Rebellion theme and the bartender was awesome. Incredible staff, environment, and experience. For context, I’m at a speakeasy in Chicago with the “ largest selection of American whiskey in the world” and liberty pole’s peated bourbon blows theirs peated selection out of the water. You’re cheating yourself if you don’t take home a bottle. Enjoy!

If you like to drink authentic local wickedly powerful bourbon, this distillery is for you. The whiskey sampler was too strong for my wife, but the bartender saved the day by giving her a free mixed drink. The atmosphere is great. Wish we would have done the tour. My only suggestion to the owners would be to make a new smoother bourbon around 30 to 35% so there's something for everyone.

Liberty Pole Spirits has a phenomenal tour. Not only is it a great deal - you start with a cocktail and then get to sample 5 whiskys - but they have a very detailed and informative tour. The tour is rich in history about the area and the whisky rebellion while also including detailed information about the distilling process. The tour is the perfect combination of information and sensory experiences (tasting, smelling, seeing various parts of the process in detail) that is enhanced by the owners’ passion for the work they do. One of the best tours I’ve ever been on and certainly the best in the Pittsburgh/western Pennsylvania area. The cocktails themselves were flavorful and really let the whisky shine. They had strong pours without over powering the other elements of the drink. Our group got the old fashion, the bourbon cream (seasonal), a citrus punch, and the orange whisky sour. I would recommend all of them. The old fashion in particular let the bourbon whisky shine. Over all very well done.

Excellent overall experience! Took the distillery tour with 3 others. Tasty and powerful mixed drinks to start the tour. Tour was of the complete facility and was very informative and interactive. Whiskey tasting of five whiskies was done after the tour. Made for a very enjoyable start to our evening.

What a delightful local distillery! My wife and I stopped on a Saturday afternoon and were created by the owner with open arms. Their whiskey is some of the best I've had from a craft distiller and their cocktails are updated weekly. They also have live music Friday evenings which I plan on attending. Highly recommend!

Owners are very interested in the local history and making a unique product. Only place I've found that makes a bourbon with truly peated barley. Looking forward to next visit. I highly recommend the Jessie's Old Fashioned!

Driving through town on a road trip, the owner treated us like family. Had a mini-tasting, learned a lot about the history of Washington, PA, as it relates to whiskey making, taxes, George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, and left with a bottle of Peated Bourbon.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Learned about the history of the whiskey rebellion along the process of making each spirit. I can't recommend just one drink since all of them are great. I especially like the Columbus Citron. It is sweet but still has a kick. My favorite spirit is the peated bourbon. The smokey taste is not for everyone which is fine because they offer 4 other spirits which all have distinct and great flavor. The ambiance inside takes you back to the time of the whiskey rebellion and adds to the experience. If you are coming to Pittsburgh this is a must for bourbon and whiskey lovers.
