Went there last night for my honey’s birthday. Restaurant was extremely busy and appeared to not have enough wait staff. The waitress was extremely busy and took a bit longer to place our order, so much in fact that we asked for some bread and butter. The chef came to the table which was a nice touch and told us of a trout special, however by the time that we placed our order they only had one left, apparently they had only ordered 14 for the evening. Two members of our party ordered the hamburger and both were underwhelmed and had to request fresh French fries as the ones that they received looked like something from the bottom of the basket. One of the burgers looked burnt on the outside and the guest did not even finish it, The sea bass was delicious as always, however we ordered the crab topping and only received a few pieces of crab meat, so much so that I gave my crabmeat to the birthday boy. The rest of the meal was underwhelming and had me feeling a bit embarrassed. For a party of 6 everything came to $325 and for that price I expected better. We could have eaten at Rusty Scupper or Seasons 52 and had a much better experience for less

Made a totally unplanned stop at Linwood’s for lunch this week, simply because I was in the area, it was lunchtime, and I realized I hadn’t dined there since 2008. The dining area did not feel at all familiar but I immediately liked the atmosphere and services of the hostess and waitperson. The seating was comfy and the lighting low as was the noise level. I ordered the crab cake platter, which I enjoyed. The experience was a well earned respite in the middle of a very busy day. I’m looking forward to returning and trying other menu items before deciding if this will become one of my “favs” to share with family & friends!

Pricey but excellent food that's consistent. Would like to see entree menu expanded with more beef and seafood (other than fish) dishes, and also their wonderful beignet's brought back!. Nice atmosphere except some tables very close, and its great to watch chef's do their thing. Service very very good.

A delightful evening with family.

The place smells, it was very hot and the service was very slow. The waiter forgot some orders and messed up our drinks. Would not recommend.

I enjoy high end dining experience. This is one of my favorite places. Exceptional food every time. Excellent service every time. Beautiful ambiance. My favorite meal is Seabass stuffed with crabmeat and horseradish mashed potatoes. They are generous with crabmeat not like some other places. Also Margarita is absolutely the best . I highly recommend this restaurant.

Everything was perfect. We had a retirement party with 50 people in attendance. The event was lovely. I can't think of any complaints.

I had a great time at Linwood restaurant today, the food was delicious and the service was great.

Walking in parking was easy on the parking lot we were early for our 7:30 reservation and it was extremely crowded but the two front desk workers were very helpful. I ordered a pineapple Martini which was poured perfectly and absolutely delicious I ordered a cheeseburger and most likely the best cheeseburger I've ever eaten in my life I tasted my friend soft shell crab and it was delicious as well.

Upscale Italian cuisine! Great food and service, you gotta be ready to pay the price though! Great for business and small celebrations!

This place is the best restaurant in the Baltimore area. Food and presentation is excellent. The service is respectful and frequent.

I found the prices to be quite elevated, but the restaurant was Immaculate, the service was terrific. I consider linwood's a fine dining restaurant, yet there were 10 or 15 people in there wearing sneakers and there were women in there with jeans on with slits in the thighs. The young lady that greeted us and took us to our table was wearing black jeans and sneakers . She was very polite and professional but I did not think her look matched a fine dining restaurant . I would expect that at Olive Garden or Outback Steakhouse. I think there should be a firm dining policy of no jeans or shorts or sneakers. I was going to get the 13 Oz ribeye but I could not see spending over $60. The pistachio salmon was a little over $40 and tasted very good. The last time I was there, they brought you rolls in a basket. now they give you one roll each, and you have to ask for more which they will gladly give you

WOW. Best restaurant, hands down, in NW Baltimore, probably top 3 in the 410. Annie was one of the best servers I have ever seen, being extremely professional while super sweet and knowledgeable. We were certainly not dressed for this restaurant but she didn’t treat us any differently. The food was DELICIOUS, especially the brussels sprouts. I can’t wait to go back.

Stuffy, stodgy atmosphere gets in the way of the food, which itself wasn't superb. No standouts on the menu. Service was good, but not splendid, given the reputation. Restaurant does not pass the "upscale" vibe check.

It really has an old-time feel. It feels like a place for retirees or where people come to eat and discuss clandestine business.

Everything we ate was excellent and our server, Molly, was amazing. We will definitely be back!

Came here tonight with my wife. Absolutely fantastic meal. Branzino with olives was like butter that melted in my mouth. Loved the calamari appetizer and my old fashioned sundae. One of the best meals in years I’ve had in the Baltimore area.

Absolutely fantastic meal. Branzino was delicious and prepared with expertise. Appetizer of calamari was lovely. Ice cream sundae dessert was to die for. We live in Baltimore, eat out probably 200 times a year and this was one of my best meals in years.

The spouse and I went for dinner on a random Tuesday and the place was humming. The best food we had was the onion soup, the dinner rolls, and the warm apple tart. The apps and appetizer were all perfectly cooked. The tender loin salad was well received. One note, the peppercorn sauce for the steak and the mustard vinaigrette for the salad were wonderful on their own but together may have been too many strong flavors. That was my partner who has a more sophisticated palette then I do. My unsophisticated tastes found the octopus perfectly cooked but a tad mild in flavor. Again, I need to be hit in the face with flavor to appreciate a dish so others may find it just fine the way it is. The crusted tuna was very good but the rice cake was a tad crunchy. Perhaps that is the way it is supposed to be but it kept reminding me of undercooked rice. The service was top notch and the glass of Pinot was also very good. We would definitely go back but the high price makes it a once a year kind of place. The table behind us was enjoying their dinner but they did note that their company was picking up the tab :)

Linwood’s is an excellent restaurant for casual and special occasions. The food is always well prepared and the servers are great. We had the sea bass and the halibut which were both perfect choices. It was my husband’s birthday and Annie was kind enough to bring him a birthday dessert after the meal. A nice ending.

Excellent as usual! I'm always wary when a menu lists a side such as "seasonal vegetables", but Linwoods has my trust and I'll eat anything they serve me.

I had the shrimp, scallops and mussels in pasta and it was excellent. I started with a spinach salad and that was disappointing, It would have been much better with chunks of bacon instead of bits and also would have benefited from fresh mushrooms. I think they could improve that. Otherwise it was an overall delightful experience and a place to return to.

Megan was a phenomenal waitress and made our first time visiting this restaurant an incredible experience. The food she recommended was what we were thinking of ordering when we first perused the menu, and she definitely led us down the right path. Every morsel was just as delicious as the last. Can’t wait to come back again

This was our second visit to Linwood's. This time we used a gift certificate from the couple we treated the first time we visited. I had the shrimp and avocado pico as my appetizer. It was light and flavorful. I chose the halibut for my entree. It was wonderful, as was his strip steak with oysters and bleu cheese crumble. It was all a culinary delight. The service was also great--not over the top--just right.

Pleasant staff and accommodating. Dinning experience was wonderful, and exceeds expectations. The calamari was unique and the Old Fashion was proper, one round cube. I highly recommend for dinner and a superb bartending

Our server gave us teaspoons to eat our tart and ice cream desserts with. I asked for dessert spoons and forks, and she didn't know what I was talking about. She returned with a soup spoon, teaspoon, and dinner fork and tossed them on the table saying, "I hope this is what you want," and walked away. This was the only blight on an otherwise perfect dinner. And as always, we got the table we used for.

Serg was an awesome waiter! The prix fix fare was slightly pricey… However, the food’s quality and taste helped me to not dwell on it… The food was delicious!!!

This is the model of fine dining. Everything, that's everything, is absolutely delicious. Service is excellent. Class act. The new owner is personable, checking on every table for satisfaction. You pay for quality and this restaurant is worth the price. Enjoy.

Four of us had dinner last night. Service was OK. Two meals were outstanding and two did not meet expectations. One member of our party requested that the food be prepared without salt, which unfortunately it was not. The roast chicken was far too spicy for the person who ordered it. We will be back, certainly, because the food is typically excellent.

As expected (and as usual!), the food and service were impeccable! Molly was the young lady that helped us last evening and what an absolute delight she is - full of energy and ambition, a true pleasure to have conversation with and she had expert timing on every step of her interaction with us. We could not have asked or hoped for anything better in every way!

We enjoyed a birthday lunch and ordered the fixed price meal, along with the suggested wine pairings. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect and we did not feel rushed. Serge was a terrific waiter, observant and gracious.

I had an unexpected out of town guest passing through on her way back to NY. Linwoods bowls strikes - ALWAYS delicious, clean, outstanding. Never have to worry it won’t deliver. Grateful and Woodie must be proud at continued excellence❤️🍷

First time visiting since ownership change (to long time partners) and it was wonderful to see that nothing has changed - favorites remain on the menu, service is 5 star; still our favorite restaurant in Baltimore County!

Linwoods used to be THE place to go for an elegant dinner. However, Linwood Dame (former chef owner) sold the place and it does not meet its former standards for quality, taste, and presentation. I brought 6 people there last night for a disappointing meal of Greek salads (server forgot how many to bring), a Caesar salad with salmon and about a dozen croutons, a cauliflower entree that lacked flavor, and two of the tiniest crab cakes I’ve ever seen for $39 each! We also ordered French fries which were not crisp and lacked proper seasoning. Anyway, we felt abused to receive the bill of $340 before tip, however that included a bottle of wine and 1 cocktail. Our server seems like she was in an hurry, and not conducive to our enjoying ourselves. She wanted to grab food plates away…..maybe there was a plate shortage??? Anyway, I will not be back.

I came in for a quick bite after the Ravens game and sat at the bar. Katherine and Royd were in work attendance and were a pleasure to have dinner with. I ordered the French Onion soup (first time) loved it... I will definitely recommend this place to anyone who has been under a rock and didn't know it existed..lol Seriously, this place is top-notch, and I will definitely be back for full course

It’s consistently good ! I always go towards crab or onion soup in the winter , the crab soup is good. Had a burger and fries. Yummy food! Linwoods , like most upscale restaurants, has become very expensive. We seem to go less , and reserve going there for special occasions, as it’s more pricey since the epidemic. Always great servers , and attentive staff. It was my birthday dinner with dear friends. Their apple tarts were delicious, served with icecream. I thought the desserts were quite small. The burger and fries and salads are ample sizes. It’s consistent and you know what you will be getting there.

Took my wife for her birthday and Linwoods made the event special - great food, service, and ambiance. We go a few times a year and it never disappoints.

Wow! Went there for dinner last with my husband and I must say probably the best service I have gotten at a restaurant in a really long time. From start to finish, the food was amazing. We got the scallops, grilled octopus, Maryland crab soup, and brussel sprouts Caesar salad for apps. Highly recommend all of them. For dinner, I got the halibut and my husband got the salmon both were fantastic. Overall, this place has great seafood and attentive waiters/waitresses. Our waitress was always checking in even with it being crowded. Overall, we loved this place and will be coming back soon for another date night! If you want to get a nice meal for a date night or with your family, this is the spot to go!

Overall the experience was good and the service was especially great . There were 5 of us having dinner. All of our food looked and tasted delicious. There was one exception, my fish selection. I had the Bronzino and it was not prepared to my liking. The top was seared too hard, I was unable to cut it with my fork or knife. We had a great time there enjoying the atmosphere, the ambiance and each other’s company.

Crab soup and brussels Caesar were outstanding! The sea bass and veal were also spectacular. Service was impeccable, except they brought our appetizer before the wine arrived. Definite boo-boo. That was because the bottle of wine they brought to the table was a 2022 when it was a 2020 on the menu so we ordered something different. Ambiance was sophisticated and classy. Appreciated giving the two of us a four-top for more room, which also afforded us a more private table. We will be back.

We had a nice dinner experience. When we first arrived we were seated at a really cramped table near the bar where there was too much traffic . We asked to be seated somewhere different and they obliged . The server was excellent and the food was great . We had salad , appetizers , dinner and dessert. We were stuffed . Overall great experience.

Had a lovely dinner for two with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff at Linwoods could not have been more accommodating. Everyone was welcoming and our server was attentive but not overbearing. The chef came out to our table to make sure that everything was to our liking. We were presented with a very nice complimentary dessert to celebrate our special day. We have enjoyed the atmosphere at Linwoods over the years as a nice place to celebrate our anniversary.

What's not to love about Linwoods?! Easy to get to, ample free parking (no valet needed), welcoming receptionists, nice restrooms, coat checking available,* beautiful place settings and linens, comfortable seats (we're always given the table we requested), professional servers, handsome decor, reasonably priced cocktails, excellent wine and menu selections, DELICIOUS FOOD. Lovely dessert for birthday people. The manager and the owner/chef came to our table to say hello. At this point, we think Linwoods is the best restaurant in the Baltimore area. *Shame on diners who bring their coats into this beautiful restaurant to hang over their chairs instead of checking them.
