My wife and I love visiting local coffee shops when we are in a town we've never visited before. Found this gem in downtown Devils Lake. Coffee was great but what stood out was their customer service. The staff even gave us recommendations for supper places. We were only in town for 2 days but we made sure to visit Liquid Bean both of those days.

Local breakfast spot. Great coffee and very good fresh muffins. Recommend the lemon poppy muffin.

Spacious and open atmosphere. The service was prompt. The coffee was served in a large carafe which meant it was not as hot as I like it. Also there were no pour over options.

The coffee is incredible. I have orderded a wide variety of coffee drinks here and have always been impressed. I am staying in a nearby hotel, and got 4 drinks here one morning for my family. It was so good I was back the next day, and as soon as I walked in they started making our drinks from memory. Incredible service, and a really down to earth, friendly vibe. If you're in the area don't bother going anywhere else (I tried the competition too, not worth it). I don't live in the area, and wish I could pick this place up and take it home with me.

Passion fruit Italian soda was completely awesome. They have a lot of syrup flavors.

My yearly trip to Devils Lake always includes a trip to The Liquid Bean. We had muffins and iced drinks today, but have had the sandwiches in the past. It has always been delicious! Cute place with great service…make this coffee shop a must stop.

Comfortable, good location, decent music, priced about average for coffee drinks. Found their decafe 'Americono excellent. Person making coffee seemed to actually care about proper pulling of shots and not just slinging a cup of whatever to the customer.

Really good sandwiches for lunch. Coffee is great too along with the service and atmosphere of the business.

It’s not easy to find good coffee while being on the road in the US, so finding The Liquid Bean in Devils Lake, ND was one of the best surprises. Good coffee and sweets, definitely worth a visit if you are in town.

Been there twice this week. The Rudolph Latte is exceptional!! Staff is friendly and serve the beverages up as quickly as possible. Ho, ho, ho!! Sheree and I put in our cookie and candy orders today for sweet tooth enjoyment at our children's homes over the upcoming Christmas holiday. Baking checked off the to-do list. **This post was supposed to be for Crossroads Coffee and Espresso not the Liquid Bean!! Oops!!

I took my son and granddaughter here for afternoon snack. The gal who waited on us was so patient and helped us decide what drinks we wanted. She also took time to explain and show my granddaughter how to make her drink. Thank you.

My husband and I went for a coffee date at our favorite coffee shop in town to celebrate it being the weekend. Not only was the coffee great but we were serenaded by a kind gentleman with a big heart. He had a nice voice too! Great service at "The Bean"!!

Just a relaxed hospitable friendly atmosphere! Even the customers were welcoming. A lady had made some rice crispy bars and shared them with us. Even gave us her recipe. I decided to stay the night in Devils Lake, and the owner helped me find a motel. It was unexpected goodness and friendliness. If you get a chance to visit Devils Lake, stop here for a fantastic panini, great coffee and unique hospitality.

This is the quintessential local coffee shop that has been a local spot for more than a decade. Great beverages and ambiance, thus is the place where writing and book clubs meet, and people take a break. Wonderful place.

This was an awesome find! As someone not from Devils Lake, we just typed "coffee shop" into Google and found this! The baristas were pleasant, the coffee was great, and they have a wide array of syrup flavors to choose from. VERY pleased!

The coffee was adequate, as were the facilities. They offer a variety of brewed coffees as well as a bevy of other espresso drinks. Their muffins, bars, and cookies look delicious. The problem with the Liquid Bean is that the baristas stand at the counter talking to customers. So, walking in and ordering, you definitely feel like you're bothering and interrupting them. Also, throughout the establishment, there are piles of "stuff" that looks like someone's house. Finally, a friendlier staff would be helpful.

On a side street in this thriving county seat in upstate North Dakota, this coffee shop offers great coffee and tasty pastries. Patrons seldom linger as they walk in --buy and return to their work sites. The Liquid Bean offers flavors by the score which were politely declined since their coffee is the stand out, not the additional flavors. The large latte ordered came HOT, full coffee flavored and was reasonable in price. The giant blueberry muffin we selected was a an additional hit. The site offers many comfortable tables and other spots to sit while enjoying local and state newspapers/magazines offered for customer use. Highly recommended for ones caffeine needs.

The Bean is a cool place to visit for a coffee but is used to be even cooler. Miss the vibe it had a few years ago as now it seems as if you're having coffee in someone's house except you don't know them.

Coffee and lunch was fantastic. Staff was not overly friendly but efficient. Place could use a little makeover. Lounge style with couches and arm chairs would really add charm to this location.
