Great food at a reasonable price

Los Charros has some really good Mexican food, I got the Chile Relleno, which was amazing! The chips and salsa were also very tasty.

We were the only patrons when we entered, but the place soon filled up food was ordered and served quickly. And it was delicious. And it was so surprising when we got the bill it was half what we anticipated. I would highly recommend this place

My husband and I had the double order steak fajitas. It was delicious. The best ever. With plenty leftover to take home for another meal.

One of our favorite spots for some good Mexican food. If you are in to hot salsa you have to order their salsa picosa. My partner always orders horchata and slurps it right down. The owners are also just really kind people and we never leave disappointed.

The owner was the only server and he was busting it, but it was pretty busy. Food was just okay.

The food was scrumptious, and it was a welcoming and warm atmosphere to dine in. Definitely visiting again soon.

The steak was fantastic. Great place for kids. Staff is awesome, friendly, and attentive. Our food came out fast. I recommend.

The food is top notch, the service is great... when they took over the building they added some Sombrero and did nothing else. But I've found that is that is typical

It was a good experience, however the grande burrito got cold quick because the plate wasn't brought hot. No refills, but nice servers still. Boring atmosphere. Has a ways to go to catch up with the other local Los Charros.

Greeted warmly by staff. I had the los charros nachos for the first time. The large nacho plate was a lot of food. With chicken, cheese, refried beans, lettuce, a tomato slice and chips it was quite a mess. Flavor was a bit lacking with no spice to the dish. There was no hot sauce to be found. The staff offered us refills on our drinks, a big plus. Overall it was an ok lunch nice staff.

Great food and service for a good price (we got the higher priced items but there are hearty less expensive ones that I intend on trying the next time we travel there from Saint Louis). Large servings. The restaurant decor is aged but, it is clean and the food is great so I’m ok with that! It is worth going the longer route back to Saint Louis so that we can stop in and eat again.

Delicious and authentic! Love the staff, they treat us well and make us feel so wanted and welcome!

Es aceptable para ir unas cuantas veces o si solo estas de paso. A veces la comida es muy rica y a veces muy salada quizá depende del cocinero. Lo mismo con el servicio, a veces son amables y a veces no tanto, pero es el único lugar de comida Mexicana en Carthage. La última vez que fui no pude comer a gusto, me sentí hoztilizada.

Delicious! A great place to stop on our trip from Chicago to Kansas City. Dining room could use some new carpet, but otherwise a nice place.

Not anywhere near the best Mexican food I have had and the waitress seemed to have not wanted us there at all... Restaurant is clean and presentation good.. taco, tostada, chalupa left a lot to be desired.

It's milder than most so for those who like milder Mexican I recommend highly. The Chef's Special is my go to. Fajitas and an enchilada. Mild salsa and warm fresh tortilla chips. Yummm

Los Charros was the only place open on a Tuesday in the early evening in Carthage and we were all hungry tourists; so that's where we dined. It seems like a subdued Mexican dinner, but it was actually very good and satisfying. The place was filled. The service was prompt and efficient, however the servers should try to be a bit friendlier with the public. There was no polite banter with the visiting crowd. The food was great! Everything we ordered was presented well and tasted authentic. We left pleasantly filled and w enjoyed the experience.

This is a good Mexican restaurant in Carthage. There are very few dining options in the area and most are really bad. This was a nice surprise. The food and cocktails and service were all really good. The carpet needs to be removed.

Delicious Latino food. Can cook off the menu and very good servings. Tex-Mex no problem, South America Oh Yea! Nice variety of beers. Very spacious seating and looks like a banquette offsetting the main dinning area. They have expanded to Macomb IL., I have not tried it there yet. Clean areas, friendly attentive staff. Come to the Carthage Square you can’t miss it, no signs on-the highway 136. Bring your appetite and a smile they will return the smile. Pics of Tecate with ……y’all chilled MUG, and a Giant Cocktail with shrimp, crabmeat, scallops, avocado poco de gallo. The End. Vr, Brad P.

Went here for lunch and were seated very quickly. Waitress was friendly and helpful taking our order. Place was clean and tables spaced well for Covid separation. The chips and salsa were good, we added guacamole and it was great. I had the Paella and it was delicious. My husband had a combination and liked it all. We had two soft drinks and bill was $30 and it was worth it. We have two more meals, at least, from leftovers. We will return!

Great service! the waitress Delia was amazing..she made Tamarind margaritas. We ordered the Choriqueso dip and the Fajitas Parrillada for 2 (steak, chicken, shrimp, chorizo and carnitas). Very average, not much in the way spices or flavoring. Chili relleno was extremely tough and impossible to eat, had no filling, I was expecting cheese. If there was cheese then they cooked it out. Salsa tasted like crushed tomatoes.

We loved the food here! My husband got the chicken fajitas which were great. I got the Pollo with cream onions and mushrooms (can't remember what it's called... 🤦🏼‍♀️) So good. We were just passing through Carthage and are SO GLAD we stopped here.

Went there for lunch. The staff was very friendly and helpful with picking out what to get. The food was good and the presentation even better. They give humongous portions so be ready to share or take home leftovers.

The food was okay - not great. So was the service. While I prefer authentic Mexican food, it would be nice if the wait staff spoke a little English, at least enough to take our orders and our payments. One person in our party gave $20 for her $10.07 bill. The waitress gave her $1 and change back. She quickly fixed it but had to be told how much to give back as change. Not sure if I would return any time soon.
