I would not return to this place, the food was tasteless, less than I expected, the girl at the bar with her stress stressed me out even more, she did not know how to serve well, what a disappointment from this place I expected something much better, the owner was very nice , but without a doubt I would not eat again just because of the girl's bad attention

It was a good experience overall, the food wasn't that bad but it could be better. Me and my husband got the platter and the quantity was good. The meats can use more seasoning, we could not taste much from everything in the platter. Just add more salt and pepper and lime and you should be able to enjoy the food better.

Wow. I never had Columbian food, so I can't tell you if this is authentic, but I can say it was delicious. It was packed at lunch. We will be back.

If you're Colombian, you probably rate this place much higher. They are very active in the Colombian community and have a great ambiance for Colombian cultural and sporting events. My wife is Colombian. I am Mexican. My rating of this restaurant is based solely on the food. I have been married to my wonderful wife for 20 years. During that time, I have eaten at many Colombian restaurants and have eaten my in-laws' and my wife's food, so I feel I have a very good understanding of Colombian food. My wife wanted to go to this restaurant to watch Colombia play in the Copa final. It was understandably full to capacity and they actually had to have outdoor seating to accommodate the overflow crowd. I thought that was wonderful, but it was 98 degrees that day, so we decided to order to go and watch the game at home. We ordered a picada paisa, frijoles, and 9 empanadas. My thoughts on the food are as follows: 1. The empanadas: The empanadas were ok. The filling was flavorful and well seasoned, but I found the masa to be bland and dry. There are a few other places in the area with much better empanadas. Overall, 5/10 2. Frijoles: Meh. The frijoles had a decent flavor, but were undercooked and the broth was very watery overall, which is an indicator of being undercooked as the broth becomes thicker when they are cooked properly. 5/10 3. Picada: Also meh. Let's start with the good. I've become accustomed to store bought items in bandejas and picadas, so I don't include arepas or morcilla in any negative effect on my ratings. That being said, the morcilla was good and clearly sourced from a very good provider, even if they were slightly overcooked. The sausage was flavorful and cooked appropriately. The chicken cutlets were probably the best item in the picada. I'm not sure if they make them there, or buy them, but they were well seasoned and very juicy even though they were very thin. This is not easy to accomplish as chicken dries out quickly and is easy to overcook. The chicharron was good. It was cooked and seasoned well, but I was disappointed in the amount provided as I'm used to more of it in a bandeja or picada. And now, the bad. The skirt steak: This was a very poor quality of meat. I found it to be very greasy and not very well seasoned. The shrimp: The shrimp tasted very shrimpy and fishy. This is a sign of poor quality, or of old inventory that wasn't properly refrigerated. They were cooked properly and of decent size, which accents the poorness of the product even more. The steak: Overcooked and lacking of any percievable seasoning. I get it, steak is expensive. All the more reason to make sure it is well seasoned and properly cooked. Mini potatoes and tostones: over cooked, dry, and lacking of salt. Picada paisa, 3/10 For the price, I was very disappointed in the food quality overall. In summary, I love Colombia. This beautiful country gave me the love of my life and my 2 beautiful children. I enjoy Colombian food. I did not enjoy this restaurant's food and the great ambiance isn't enough for me to want to ever spend money here again when there are so many better options out there. I don't write this review with any malice or ill-intent. I honestly hope the owners take this critique to heart and improve their product. The food is the only thing holding them back from being a top 3 spot for Colombians and Colombian events. Also, I wish they had a bigger space.

We had the Empanadas and the Bandeja tipica Colombiana. The rice and beans were seasoned perfectly, the pork cracklings were to die for. All in all a great experience.

It is the 3rd time I have gone to this restaurant and all the dishes are delicious. Bandeja Paisa, Picada, empanadas. All exquisite.

This is THE spot for Colombian food in Charlotte. Their bandeja paisa is amazing, delicious, and a very generous portion. The atmosphere during Colombia soccer games is top notch as well!

We were really hungry when we first came in so we ordered empanadas, they were soooo yummy, we all got different dishes to try from and they were all cooked to perfection. The service was good, it wasn't top notch but it wasn't terrible either, the atmosphere was pretty good too, first time trying Colombian food and it was amazing, definitely know where to come next time in Charlotte!

Great place if you've got hankering for Colombian food. We had the tostones with Guac. It was fantastic followed by the parrillada which for 2 people is great. Flavorful and amazing. Highly recommend

The curry they are serving in the name of Thai curry is very pathetic in taste. I can make better Thai Curry thqn them at my home.

Excellent Colombian food, very abundant and good, excellent service, three people with soda and refajo (beer with Colombian) 75 usd, for the tray paisa go with an empty stomach, so you can eat it is enough. I ordered roast entrails 3/4.

The food is amazing, the staff is well-trained, the only reason I gave atmosphere four stars instead of five is because it’s a little cramped inside. But cramped or not is definitely worth it.

Just like Grandma used to make. No, seriously, Grandma was from Colombia and I never had the opportunity to learn her recipes, but when I want her food, I come here and I get a little teary eyed as I have my meal. The empanadas and salsa, the chicharron, the arroz con pollo... I bet her own kids wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I'm convinced there's a little old grandma in the back making every dish... You'll likely be greeted in Spanish, but most of the staff speak more than enough English for most gringos to manage. Besides, you have a pocket translator, don't you? Never had Colombian? Go try it, I promise you'll enjoy.

I have been coming here for about 2 months due to the variety and the healthy choices, not only is the food great!, but the staff is courteous, respectful, always making sure that the food is right, the cup of water is full. I wish it was Los Paisas in Raleigh, NC. If you are in Charlotte NC you need to try it!!!

I’ve never had anything here I did not like. Their lunch specials are excellent. Service is excellent. We try to go here as much as we can. Even if you have to wait for a few minutes it is worth the wait. If you’ve not checked out Colombian food. You need to come here. Say hello and get some lunch.

Today, I took my wife to brunch at Los Paisas Restaurant. The wait staff and cooks deserve 5 stars! First of all, we were warmly greeted and quickly seated. Next our server was prompt and took our appetizer and drink order and gave us our drinks and app very fast. So the service is on point! Then, we both ordered the lunch special which came with soup, a delicious tender and generous portion of beef in an scrumptious mushroom sauce, served with white rice and a unique salad. Tan bueno! They were generous with the portions and my wife and I were both full after brunch. Then something funny happened. The salsa (although mild) made my forehead sweat a little. The hostess noticed and directed our server to adjust the air conditioning just for me. I told the hostess that it was just the spices in the salsa (which was yummy btw :) and that there was no need to adjust the air. But the fact that she noticed that minor detail and took action to make me comfortable filled my heart as much as the food filled my stomach <3 So, if you're in the area and want super-tasty food at a reasonable price with 5-star service, I highly recommend Los Paisas!

I've gotten the lunch special here several times. It's enough for for both lunch and dinner so it's a really good deal for less than $10. A serving of meat with rice, salad, soup, and a fried banana for dessert. I ordered inside as a take out and the wait was really short.

Los Paisas hardly ever disappoints. We've ordered from here a couple of times and the food and service are always on point last time though it could've been better I blame it on they were very busy and probably in house we would've gotten better plates but all in all good Spanish food.

The first time I go to a Colombian restaurant & food & menu is not what i expected food to expensive they could really do better. Is just a good atmosphere but food is ok if you wznt better colombian food theres better places or menus

I was in this place with my husband and his nephew actually I must say that the food was terrible, we ordered chops and tray paisa both dishes totally disappointed us the taste of the beans was tasteless, the rice was sticky and the chops were just breaded fried because the Meat was very thin! I REALLY DO NOT RECOMMEND IT

I used to go very often but this last time the chicken tasted terrible, it was miserable, it felt chewy, that chicken was super old, it tasted bad, I ate it because I was very hungry and besides, it was very little food and of bad taste.

Food was just amazing my only gripe and my wife agrees is that the food needs to be hotter when it comes out it was Luke warm when we got it. I think the flavor would come out even more if it's hotter. But other than that this place is a surprise gift. PS the beers are very cold!!

It is always pleasant to enjoy Colombian Gastronomy in Los Paisas! The dishes are served with care and quality and of course the servers Yenni, Diego and Andrés recognize us and treat us with warmth and quality in their service! 100% recommended

Great authentic Columbian food! I love this place!

Every bit as good as we remember from a couple years ago and prices remain very reasonable. Get the typical Columbian meal and you will not be disappointed...or hungry.

WOW! Portions huge. 1st and 2nd pics are Pechuga en Champinones (grilled chicken breast in mushroom sauce with rice, beans and plantains) for $15 USD. 3rd pic is Picada (plantains, fried beef, red & black sausages, pork crackling, potatoes, cassava & corn tortillas) for $15.50 USD. 4th pic is empanada appetizers for $1.25 USD each. Food was delicious and our waitress was excellent. One of my new favorite restaurants. Recommend!

Delicious food, but not cheap. I still bought 2 extra plates because I live far away and I wanted to have lunch for the next day. When I opened the sancocho, they put a bone without any meat. And then there are no ways to return it! But it seems dishonest to me, I'm sure you wouldn't even throw that bone at a dog! Sad that they do that!

I love Colombian food and we used to frequent Colombian restaurants in NJ before moving. Los Paisas is very good, but not spectacular, but definitely worth visiting. We will return for sure. I got the Chuleta de Cerdo with a side of Yuca. The pork was tenderized well and nice and thin. The breading was just right, adding a nice crunch without adding any greasiness. Squeezing the lime wedges onto the pork was a nice flavorful touch. Unfortunately, without the lime juice, the pork wouldn't have much flavor. It definitely needed more seasoning, but that didn't stop me from eating the whole portion. I would sometimes dip a bite of pork into the rice and beans for extra flavor. The beans were the highlight of the meal for me. The yuca was fried perfectly and came with a cilantro sauce, which I don't like in general. My wife loved it and is taking the extra sauce home. My wife and kid loved the shrimp dish and the plantains they shared too. Service was a little slow, but it was very crowded this afternoon for lunch. But we didn't have to wait too too long, all things considered. The music and atmosphere were perfect for a place like this.

Hey, native Colombian here. The service has gotten worse over time, and so have the portions. I remember the first several years I went and ordered the Bandeja Paisa, they actually gave you better portions of sweet plantains. I brought this up when they gave me 1 piece of one plantain, and then again gave me one after another visit with a friend I thought would love Los Paisas based on my lengthy experience with them, but it was just an embarrassment to have talked about how good the food was and how generous the servings were. It wasn't. It was less for the same price and they refused to give me 2 more, just 2 more plantains. I told them they used to give more and what happened, and they said they never used to give more, which is an insult to my intelligence, considering how often I used to eat there. It cost a ridiculous price for extra plantains when I can buy 3 entire plantains for about a little over a dollar at home. That's a criminal markup for them to only give 1 piece of plantain and a sorry couple spoonfuls of rice. I'm Colombian and grew up in Colombia and used to love coming here and reliving an authentic experience, but they've ruined that experience completely. It's a shame considering how much I used to look forward to eating here.

I had a wonderful experience at Los Paisas. The restaurant offers delicious Colombian food and provides excellent service. I enjoyed two refreshing mojitos and decided to order takeout, but I'm looking forward to dining in next time because the atmosphere is welcoming and accommodating.

La comida en este restaurante es muy rica el sitio es un poco pequeño pero hacojedor. Lo unico malo que tengo para decir sobre este restaurante es que automaticamente cobran %18 de tip asi sea por dos personas el bill. Esto desgraciadamente se esta a empezando a ver mucho en los restaurantes colombianos cosa que ni en los restaurantes como olive gardens se ve. Si es asi lo estaria pensando 2 veces antes de volver porque hasta lo que yo se, estoy no es legal de hacer. Los tips son y siempre an sido voluntarios. Ps : los jugos en leche son supremamente caros esten preparados para pagar $11 por 2 jugos. Eso es ridiculo entre los jugos y el tip que ellos mimos se aplicaron ya son 21 dolares.

The worse meal I had in a long time. Zero flavor BLAND BLAND BLAND the chuletas were gross no seasoning no nothing!!!! The beans were so bland I couldn’t believe it no seasonings at all just nasty and mediocre. I enjoyed the plaintains but would not revisit this bland boring food establishment. Zero flavor how can they call this Colombian cuisine?????
