We go here fairly often and are never disappointed. It is better than the majority of restaurants in Pittsburgh.

I have to say, this is my favorite go to place for a delicious dinner in the Mon Valley. If you are looking for a spaghetti and meatball dinner, this is not the place. The crab hoezel is in my opinion the best anywhere. It is hard for me to order anything other than the Virginia Spots but his Veal Parm is also a great choice. Mafalda, roasted peppers and cheese, Fettuccine Alfredo are also good appetizer choices. Yes, it is pricey but you get a good quality meal with the freshest ingredients and simply served. Special place.

Visited this fine establishment with some friends and I must say, the food is amazing. The venue is for fine dining and is small and quaint. So make sure you make a reservation or you will find yourself out of luck. It can also be pricey but with what you get it's well worth a special night with your spouse or small group. I had the Lobster Romano which was amazing. And my wife had the filet mignon. She's already asking to return for her birthday. Everything here is quality. A+

Absolutely without a doubt a diamond in the rough the owner father mother son are all so they are five stars but they’re above stars a true recognition to find Italian cuisine. Monessen has an equal of New York. Truly Italian cuisine a very nice environment family owned. I can only tell you if you have never had Italian food and desserts. You don’t have to go to New York. It’s just a little drive but it’s well worth it. You should never question the price when you’re getting something priceless I love that restaurant Trattoria unfortunately the sun has taken over the business but I soon learned he was the cook the whole time inherited by Life from la familiar all I can tell you is that you need to drive to Monessen and make it a event

We went here for my b day dinner . This was my 1st time here, and I am from Monessen and have always wanted to go there. I got the veal and wine, and my wife got the chicken parmasean. Both were excellent! Also, the pasta and pasta sauce were very sweet, and we loved it, probably my favorite part of the meal. We were there at 5, so it was not packed. That was good because we got to talk to the waitress about the menu. The atmosphere was nice and there was ample parking. The price was good. When I am back in town, I will be stopping by again.

We’ve lived two miles away from Lucchesi’s for five years and just recently heard about them. We went tonight for our five year anniversary and we were not disappointed. We had the Garlic Shrimp appetizer and it was amazing. I got the Lobster Romano and my husband got the Filet Mignon. Both were absolutely wonderful. We got the cannoli to go for dessert. YUM. Like other have said, it’s not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. We will absolutely be back again! Thank you, Lucchesi’s, for a wonderful anniversary dinner.

In a town that appears to be crumbling, a wonderful hidden treasure. It was Valentine's Week so the menu was limited, but there was something for everyone and everything was prepared perfectly. Although not easy to find, the sign is hidden by the awning. it is worth the search. Both the veal & Virginia spots were perfection. Only open 3 days a week, you need to plan ahead & make a reservation but so worth it. Enjoy!

You will never stumble upon this place. It’s got one small neon sign under an awning, and the door by that sign is firmly locked, even when the sign is glowing. Try the next door to the right, which lets you into a dim hallway with another door at the end, which (finally) opens into a softly lit dining room furnished like the upscale red-sauce places of 50 years ago. We reserved a table, and when we arrived, water was already poured, bread and butter were out and the waitress asked us about drinks within seconds of handing us the rather cryptic one-page menu. What’s Mafalda? (House pasta specialty.) We figured, when in Rome, so ordered 60s-style Italian entrees: steak, veal scalopini (more like veal Marsala) and veal Parmesan. All were well prepared, and the pasta, salad and asparagus sides were delicious. Be warned: the house red sauce skews sweet. The roasted pepper and cheese appetizer is a must, even those there’s a lagniappe of cheesy garlic bread. We ate every bite and were too full for dessert, though we saw a neighboring customer’s good-looking ice cream sundae. The prices are high, but worth it.

Great food and atmosphere. We traveled an hour to get to the restaurant and will definitely be going back. Fillet and veal were both fantastic. They’re open Thursday through Saturday. Make sure you make reservations. Call the number listed and leave a message if no one answers, they will call you back. Wait staff was extremely friendly. They don’t have a website or menu listed online. Entrees include: lobster, fish, several fillet/steak options, several veal choices, and chicken. Probably forgetting some, but just wanted to provide first timers with an idea.

The owners are wonderful and so talented. Sarah the bartender is creative and entertaining, never disappointed with her fun and flavorful drinks. I recommend the Peppers and Cheese for an appetizer and Italian Margarita for the drink. As a main dish, I would order just about anything!

I have been to Lucchesis twice! The first time was years ago and I was not happy.. The food was very salty and my son asked for Chicken on his fettuccine and he was told it couldn't be done. Waitress was crass. Moving ahead 10 years, I visited this week for a special occasion and to give Lucchesi's another chance. Sat at the bar and my dining mate's Vodka and Tonic was wonderful. I ordered a glass of Chardonney wine and the wine came from a jug! Really?? When you are spending $38 dollars for an entree your wine should not be from a jug! Service was slow. One server for a table of 16 or more. The wonderful bar maid took Care of my guest and me. Only one other couple in the restaurant. My dining mate and I had the Veal with Wine. Veal was pounded thin, coated and fried. Very tasty. Salad and a side of pasta. Had to ask for more water and had to ask for the check. Not attentive. This restaurant is good, but not worth the prices they charge. I have traveled the US and Europe and had some wonderful meals, but this is not worth the price. I would defiantly return, but not at those prices. 2 people for dinner was $140. And JUG wine?

Hands down, the best food experience of my life. We chose Lucchesi's as a belated Valentine's dinner. When walking through the door we were greeted by an intimate candle lite dinning room with soft music playing in the background (Frank Sinatra, which is a must for me when enjoying Italian food). Our waitress was very sweet and accomodating, happy to explain the menu choices and give suggestions. The wine was exquisite and perfectly complimented our meal. It began with a house salad and homemade bread with a whipped butter. The appetizer we chose was roasted red peppers and cheese. Our entrees were the Lobster Romano and Black Sea Bass. The food alone would have given them 4 stars, the flavors blended perfectly and you could tell that only the best ingredients had been used. As we were finishing our meals the owner and chef Les came out and sat with us at our table. Telling us the story of how Lucchessi's came to be. He told us of his love for his wife Pauline who joined us later. My only regret is that we didn't save room for dessert! All around a wonderful experience, and we will certainly be back again!

He instantly makes you feel at home and the food is nothing less than scrumptious! We had the filet mignon, fettucine alfredo and the veal and wine. Every bite was better than the last. The service was warm and friendly. This is not a place for a quick bite to eat. Expect dinner to take two hours. Bring cash, don't look at the prices and just order what sounds good. I had been trying to get my boyfriend to Lucchesi's for two years. We finally made it Saturday night. He has traveled all of his life, and been to many fine restaurants all over the world. He hasn't stopped telling people about Lucchesi's, and said that it is one of the best meals he has had in a very long time. Our evening started with sweet "Sarah" at the bar, and ended with Les sitting and chatting with us at our table. The food is exquisite, and the soft music they play is fitting and delightful. I remember when this restaurant was a "beer joint" that offered amazingly good food served in an amazingly ordinary setting. As the steel mill across the street closed, the need to keep that place comfortable for the workers ended, but the tradition of great food, perfectly prepared didn't. It is difficult to find any dish that is not excellent, but some do sort of stand out and are worth mentioning. The "garlic shrimp" is amazingly good either as an appetizer or main course. They really don't have a bleu cheese dressing for the salad, but they improvise something that is even better. The restaurant is now an intimate and charming place with the outside still reminding one of the history of both the restaurant and of Monessen!
