The food is phenomenal, service is emmaculate, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Gisselle was our server, she was great and made awesome recommendations. Great spot for a day lunch. We brought our kid in a stroller with no problem. We had the charbroiled oysters, mussels, steak, and curry, and it was all great.

This a top notch place for great food, drink and an elevated experience in downtown Ventura. We love having a casual meal at the bar. From oysters to chowder and beyound the fish here is excellent. We look forward to coming back !

I used to like Lure. The last few years this restaurant has really lost its purpose. I feel like it used to be a solid fish house with good service for a franchise. The service now is lacking. I feel they have a ton of people working and looking busy but none really providing decent service. The food portions and options have declined substantially as well. I went to the Ventura location this past Sunday night for a cocktail and ceviche( which I have done many times) the ceviche was completely different and mostly cucumbers and onions. The service at the bar was well slightly unprofessional considering I watched the bartender drink shots of whatever while working. Probably my last time here the prices are too high for what I received.

Very good food. Absolutely Amazing!

Holy Key Lime Pie. Come for the delicious entrees and cocktails. Stay for the pie. We dined here three times during our stay and would come back again tomorrow. The Sand Dabs meal is amazing. Light, flaky fish cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the Parmesan potato cake. Leave the cheddar bacon biscuits for dessert if you're in the mood. But, ideally, you like key lime pie and you go for that.

The staff made the evening special, the food was prepared and presented just the way we like it. I do not like over cooked seafood, our seafood was perfect.

This is the best place hands down! Every time we come to Ventura we try and stop by Lure Fish House, my fiancee and I have been coming for a few years and it never disappoints! We got the Lure Cioppino and added Linguine and it was to die for!!! It had a little kick of spice but it all rounded out to be a spectacular meal! Finished off with their silkiest key lime pie (that I dream of for days!) My fiancee had their cheesecake and that was seriously the best cheesecake I have ever had, it melted in your mouth! If you like delicious food, come to Lure House! Their ambiance was great, and all of their staff have been nothing short of amazing! If I could eat here every day I absolutely would!!

I have been here for maybe eight times coming up from Orange County but today was the the worst food and drink experience ordered sparkling wine they brought me Chardonnay and told me it was opened the day before and it was sparkling wine my rockfish was over spiced it was so salty was a horrible experience didn’t want to complain but wanted to write a review

My husband took me to Lures in Ventura for my birthday dinner. I found their lobster 🦞 to be large and tasty. Pricey, yes, but worth it. My husband had the Wisconsin steak. He said it was also tasty. The pineapple coleslaw was good. But I wasn't fond of the parmesan potatocake. It wasn't the best. But, I'd say give them a try . It was a little crowded and loud. 👍

Good experience but nothing great. Bar seemed fun, but we sat at a table for dinner. I had the Scallops and they were flavorful but a little chewy. I had that with the Strawberry Salad which was okay too. It was fresh. The star of the show were their crispy Sweet Potato Fries (YUM). My brother had the fish and chips which he said was crispy but not much flavor and the fries were mediocre. My cousin had the Lobster Roll which looked beautiful but ended up being too much bread to lobster ratio. Overall it was good but not amazing. Service was great and we got seated quickly! Atmosphere is nice and they have a heated outdoor patio.

We celebrated my grandmothers 100th Birthday at Lure. They allowed me to come early to decorate the table and offered help. The hostesses I spoke to on the phone leading up to our reservations were beyond nice. I was extremely impressed by how great the customer service was. They really made an effort to make our night special. In addition to the great customer service, the oysters were the best I ever had all the food was great. Thank you Lure!

Our third time to Lure on Ventura in Camarillo, each time is a unique experience. It is a hit or miss on the food. However every single time the Miso Sea Bass skewers have been incredible. This past visit, we ordered appetizers one being the charbroiled oysters, more raw than charbroiled, so that was unfortunate. We had to ask for bread three times, which was finally brought to our table when I was done eating and my husband was nearly done his meal. Atmosphere is fabulous, the decor is perfect and the pineapple & cucumber margarita is delicious. There is plenty of parking and even on a Saturday night without a reservation, we were seated immediately. Nice local restaurant to go to after shopping at the outlets.

Can’t say enough about how good this was! In town for business, and was recommended by native Uber driver. Thank you!! Portions were generous, service was great and food was amazing. Rockfish, oysters, and ciopino were entrees- all fantastic! Cool vibe as well. Wish downtown would’ve been hopping more - was dead for a Thursday but I can see how it would be a very “Austin 6th St” vibe on the right night. Will Definitely return!!!

Great cocktails, this one is a tequila blood orange (don't recall the name) Was very good. Have to have chargrilled oysters and jalapeno chedar biscuits with whipped goat cheese. So delicious.

Really delicious food, but it took forever to arrive (like almost an hour) odd since it wasn’t too busy. I would come back and hopefully it won’t be so delayed next time.

I actually left a Yelp Review for this same location 7 years ago but returned over the weekend and had another great experience! 2 things you must order are the Charbroiled Oysters & the Cheesecake! They have an outdoor set up that’s actually quite comfortable and aesthetically matches the vibe of the restaurant. We will always stop by when we are in the Ventura area!

I went to the restaurant with drinks from next door in plastic cups. The host checked us in . When we sat our server Will addressed the drinks and asked us to drink them outside. I proceeded to do so and then he called the manager and lied right in front of my face. I asked the manager to hear me out "Cody" and he listened them apologized for Will Actions.I asked him for an apology from Will and never got one,I guess a customer like me doesn't deserve an apology.Yes am Black.A by stander withness everything and was just as disappointed as I am.And I was served a vegetable bug in my salad the last time I was here and kept it a secret because we got a replacement meal but this isn't cool

Ate at the outside tables. Very nice atmosphere. A super salad, probably the best we've had in a while. We added seared ahi. The sanddabs were well prepared and the Brussels Sprouts that accompanied the main course were outstanding.

My wife is a big fan of seafood and so we went here for lunch based on the strong reviews. She ordered the sea bass and I had the chicken Caesar (not a seafoodie). She commented the taste is good but it is way to dry to be truly enjoyable. My salad was OK but just average as well. We left disappointed given the reputation of the restaurant and the cost of the meal. We would not return sadly before trying a number of other options first. The service was very good and attentive.

Lure Fish House is a gem in Ventura! I had a fantastic experience here. The service was excellent, and the food was simply outstanding. I tried the Grilled Rockfish Tacos and Shrimp Taco—both were amazing! The sweet potato fries on the side were delicious as well. I can't wait to come back for more. Highly recommend!

Everyone from Jaelyn (great host) who sat us at our table to our server Genesis who was the absolute best server I’ve ever had the pleasure to dine with. Food was top notch and the atmosphere great. We will be back! Keep doing what you do best Genesis, you deserve everything you set out for in life.

honestly, some of the most solid seafood we've had in a while. we had fish and chips and the lobster roll which were solid. The calamari was a surprise hit.

Food was fantastic and the entire staff was so nice, and professional. The waitress, I think her name was Ashley, was exceptional.

The food and service at this restaurant is really excellent, and I would have given it five stars for sure, but for a few errors they made when we ate there recently (May 26, 2024). My bill was brought to me in one of those billfolds, but without my card. We didn’t notice it right away, and while I was writing in the tip and such, I said aloud to my partner, “Did I put my card into my wallet already?” But I didn’t check. I should have, because the server never brought my card back to me. It’s a mistake that would not be a big deal normally, but since this restaurant is in Ventura, and we live in Bakersfield, it was a big mistake. It was only when we arrived home that I realized my card had never been returned to me. Since it is a 125 mile, two hour drive back to Bakersfield from Ventura, the restaurant was closed by the time we were home. So the next morning I called, and sure enough, the person who answered was able to confirm that my card had been left at their register and was now in a “vault.” I felt secure about that fact. But they said they don’t send cards through the mail. I could have someone local (I don’t know anyone in Ventura, CA) pick it up, or I could come get it myself. I told them that the next time I could come would be two days from when I was calling. On Monday, May 28, 2024, I made the schlepp over to Ventura. When I arrived to pick up my credit card, I asked for a manager. The day-time manager was very nice and said she could get the card. However, I wanted her to explain to me why, first, it had been left, and secondly, why someone hadn’t notified me by cell phone since they have their customers’ numbers from when they seat you and need to text when your table is ready. It’s easy to match the card to a bill and to a cell phone number. As soon as they discovered their mistake, had they called me on my cell phone, I could have turned around and retrieved it. But instead, they just put it aside and didn’t reach out to me. Though this manager was friendly, she also seemed corporate trained to give me a jumbled up answer that didn’t address my questions. I told her that since I was doing this four-hour, 250 mile ($70.00 in gasoline) round trip to get my card, perhaps I’d have lunch there. She offered me no discount of any sort for my troubles, which disappointed me. Though they have great food and attentive service, it’s the consistent trouble with corporate run restaurants that they don’t really feel for the customer in these types of situations.

Well worth the visit, food was great, service outstanding. When I go out to eat, I want into be memorable. This was a diner that brings joy with your special other. Had a bowl of clam chowder, mild, creamy and meaty not overpowering, wipe the bowl clean with the fresh baked bread loaf, (we had two!). Added and split a large strawberry salad, (not fruit salad, salad with fruit.) Again not overdone, just delicious. Both ate our fill and out the door for a stroll to the hotel for $40 bucks. Perfect meal for a very reasonable price. Definitely will stop in at Ventura just to go here.

Great Happy Hour. Quality food.

The food was excellent, and the prices were quite reasonable for the locality. One thing worth mentioning is the house salad. While the portion size is adequate and the ingredients are satisfactory, half of the salad consisted of red cabbage. Personally, I'd prefer a greater proportion of greens with just a hint of cabbage, preferably shredded rather than in chunks.

The best salmon!!! I had the beet pecan salad and added salmon. Yum yum! It did not disappoint. The warm bread was a delicious bonus to a superb meal!! I’ll be back!!

Just happened to be in town and walking by this place. I had a hankering for seafood, so we went in. What a pleasant surprise. Even though the restaurant was very busy, they seated us, took our order and delivered the food in a timely, not rushed manner. Our server was excellent. The steamed clams, trout almandine, and especially Sally’s sand dabs all delicious, my compliments to the chef and staff.

Love this place.. Love the oyster bar, Even found a pearl. Im in love with the sand dabs. And their servers r very helpful and nice. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Lure is great! Definitely try the charbroiled oysters, and get the cioppino with fettuccini!

They got the best oysters around! I also like their wine selection. The waiters are very attentive, whether your at a table or the bar! We sat at the oyster bar which had great service!

For the price, one of the better meals I’ve had out in a while. Sea Bass skewers and beet salad with ahi were particularly enjoyable.

Deserved of the ratings, fast service, no pretense and overall enjoyable meals between the halibut, clam chowder and cioppino.

Lure is one of our go-to restaurants in Ventura and usually everything is great. Tonight however I tried the Seafood Louise and was really disappointed. Very little dressing and it tasted like some of the seafood was bad. Nobody ever came by to ask how our food was and the server who cleared the plates seemed happy to take away a 3/4 full dish without asking if there was a problem. Not to the normal high standard of Lure.

Was doing Uber and ended up in Ventura around lunchtime and I stumbled upon this restaurant that served calamari so you know I had to stop! Was greeted by a very friendly waitress named Blanca who recommended some tasty food off the menu. Unfortunately, I only had time to get my calamari to go. Now after eating my calamari, I will be back! And oh.... the bread and butter was so good yes sir... you'll see me again

We went to lure fish yesterday, it was amazing , our waitress Michelle I believe … my god she was so amazing & kind make my family & I laugh a lot . She was very attentive. She’s the reason why we will keep coming back here .

One of the best fish houses. I had the oyster and lobster roll. Wine was great as well. Wonderful server. Loved it. A bit hard to find if you are not local. free parking.

The wife and I went here for our ten year anniversary, it was great they serve alcohol if you want. We had the tiger shrimp cocktail which was great the cocktail sauce had some horseradish on the side and I had to try it great with a kick. For our main course we had halibut with organic brown rice and organic black beans, to be honest it was one of the best meals I've had in years. I will definitely be coming back.

Friday 4/5/24 around 6pm our group of 8 arrives as I waited in my car with my sleeping 3yr old. My partner is told by the host that they can sit us outside if we’re all there. I grab my half asleep daughter and carry her out there on the cold windy day. I get there and they tell us we have to wait. I ask them why did they just tell us they can sit us down if we we’re all there. The teen male host annoyingly literally throws around some tables and chairs together. They sit us under a broken heater outside. I have two small daughters. I’m not sure why the hosts were this inconsiderate with our group. We were never rude or made a big deal about it. I spoke to the host and manager and got some basic apologies. I’m very disappointed how indifferent the staff were. We left to the Camarillo location and enjoyed dinner with far better service and friendly staff.

During Happy Hour I was cut off after 3 drinks while I have definitely ordered 2 bottles of wine plus drinks for dinner previously. When I asked to order another drink I was told that they needed to see me drink more water first as if I was a child. I will not be returning after the money I have spent here to be disrespected in that manner. Enjoy your limitations

I love this place! It’s always lively, the food is good and the open and spacious restaurant can accommodate larger groups. I like to go here for any occasion: business lunches, cocktails with friends or dinner with family. Sidenote: the bread they serve is warm and delicious 😋 🥖

I think I was expecting something better considering how packed it was. Food was good, but not great. Service was great and server was very attentive. One of my side dishes arrived cold and the server quickly brought a fresh hot one instead. . Again, not saying the food was bad, we've just had better elsewhere in other places.

We stopped and sat at the bar and had some of the best clam chowder that I had had in a long time. Great stuff!

We, a party of six, went for dinner. We sat on the patio, heaters blazing and blankets should we need. The menu was great - so many dishes to choose from. We each selected something different - seared ahi tuna, salmon, lobster ravioli, lobster roll and the veracruz platter, everyone was very satisfied with their choice. The portions were generous and cooked perfectly. The sides were also delicious - I had the sprouts and butternut squash - fantastic! I have to mention our server - I just wish I could remember her name - she was so friendly, attentive and knowledgeable, checking in with us discreetly and just the right amount of times. Thank you!

We sat at the enclosed bar tables outside for happy hour. Service was excellent and food was great as always. Oysters were perfect and my fish taco was so good I want to return again tomorrow! My husband got the key lime pie for dessert and we all devoured it!

Great place for dinner or a casual cocktail, or for date night. Haven't had a bad dish yet, try the sand dabs, the steak (I know it's not their specialty, but it's well worth it), the maple brussel sprouts are incredible... The service is decent, could maybe use one or two more wait staff as they seemed to struggle a bit to keep up with a busy night, but it WAS a busy night. During the week about 6pm is a good time for dinner.

Our server jenasis was amazing! Very understanding of our dislike of the crab cakes and offered the miso sea bass skewers which were amazing something I never would have picked. The drinks were fantastic highly recommend the lychee martini and she was quick with keeping the fun flowing with beverages 😉 we will definitely be coming back and hoping she's available for our next visit! The food! I can't say enough about the Cioppino! The best I've EVER had. Amazing service. The staff from the host to the wait staff were well informed and pleasant. The bathrooms were clean and serviced well. The lighting inside and out made the atmosphere fun, but also seemed romantic just when we needed it to be. The wine that was recommend was perfect. The wait time was also right on as we went across the street and had time for just one drink when they texted right at the time they predicted. We will be back next time we are on the area.

Lure Fish House is an awesome restaurant. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is lovely and the service is top notch. The wait staff is knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Our waitress Rachel was attentive and offered excellent food tips with a smile. I had the fish & chips with pineapple coleslaw and fries. The fish was fresh, lightly fried to perfection and very tasty. I also ordered a Watermelon Mojito and the bartender was not stingy with the alcohol. I highly recommend Lure Fish House, you won't be disappointed.

I can't imagine paying 6 dollars for a small fish taco, and the drink prices are egregious. I ordered 2 beers and the taco during happy hour, which was not as great of a deal as I had expected a well talked about restaurant in the Ventura Star to be. The atmosphere was like Round Table Pizza without the arcade games. It is somewhat like a pub setting without the fryers. It smells like salty stale fish with a hint of beer and two day old oysters on the half shell. Lure house what is going on?

My wife was craving a lobster roll and started searching online that morning. Lure was a short walk away from our hotel after checkout and she picked a great one. It was a quiet Sunday with people at a dozen or so tables in a lovely, large space with a beautiful covered patio. We ate outdoors and our server (Doug I think) was new and so great. Their drink and wine selection was huge and the menu was diverse and delicious. Their prices are totally reasonable for the selection and ambiance. The lobster rolls at $28 were piled high with fresh tender lobster in a very light mayo and green onion dressing on perfect buttered Maine-style hot dug buns. The fries were crispy and plentiful and the whole dish was worth every penny. We got a pop rock shrimp starter as well that had the lightest crunchy batter and a creamy Sriracha sauce they were tossed in (we already ate a bunch in our photo). We opted for the dessert menu but when it arrived we were too full but we did order a key lime pie martini which was so tart and tangy and a little creamy on top, a very unique and well crafted dessert cocktail. I can certainly recommend a visit to the Ventura location and may very well be back.

We had a great time at Lure Fish House. Everyone said how good the food was, and the service was fantastic. In cool, trendy, downtown Ventura, it had good outdoor seating with nice atmp. It made the perfect place to chill at the end of the day.

Not usually a fan of fish but this place has me convinced. Mahi mahi was and ahi tuna were both excellent. I really enjoyed the butternut squash as a side. The delicious complimentary bread with tasty butter is a nice bonus. I'm only in Ventura for a few nights and I'm tempted to come back again!

Three old friends decide to meet halfway between houses for lunch - that's how we picked Lure to eat at. Never even been to Ventura before! So PERFECT. The outdoor dining was warm and elegantly executed with a fresh wooden floor and comfy seating. The service was upbeat and patient as can be as we took FOREVER to decide what we wanted and then sat there for hours gabbing over champagne. But of course what matters was the food - and it delivered. Absolutely wonderful cioppino, clams and linguine and salads. Each server was so friendly and found every way possible to make our lunch an exceptionally good time. Highly recommend this spot - and try sitting outside - inside was dark and crowded!

This was the place of choice for New Year’s Eve dinner and it was wonderful! The lobster of course was perfect and the sides were delicious. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want to dine in for seafood.

Food was not what I would expect at these prices. The sablefish, was mushy and no taste whatsoever. The fish and chips were greasy - I have had far superior meals elsewhere. The restaurant was very noisy, I suppose expected on a Saturday night, but still and with 8 people in our party, our booth was next to some kind of storage room that was being opened every few minutes. The only good thing was the waitress, she was very attentive. The price was exorbitant. I will not be returning.
