Stopped in for tasting and was so glad we did! Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful service (Caroline) and delicious, dry wines! Hard to find such "Californian" tasting wines in Ohio. We'll be back!

Caroline was an excellent server! She informed us of the wines that we sampled, and she was very attentive! A place for all to visit. A plus pet friendly.

This winery is fabulous. From the wines, snacks and amazing staff. Caroline was helping us up at the wine counter. She was incredible at her knowledge of food and wine pairings. Not to mention super sweet and friendly. Be sure to check out M cellars on your next trip to Geneva wine country.

A definite stop you have to make, we tried close to 10 wines yesterday and our Sommelier (Robert) knew everything about them and got us to try them in a spectacular order. He made the experience even more worth it. Hands down the best wines we had yesterday. We would for sure make this stop again. M was highly recommended by friends and it lived up to the hype.

We went to mcellars after spending the weekend at Vincent William who recommended we go there! It was such a good experience! The staff was wonderful and the wine is some of the best in the region. Their cuvee and cab sauv were our favorites!

We visited M Cellars on a Sat afternoon. They were busy, but the staff was very friendly. I also really enjoy their wines. I think they are the best tasting of any I tried in the Geneva area. They had more inside seating than last year when I visited. Unfortunately it was an extremely hot day and even the inside temp was too hot and stuffy. I don't think their air conditioning could keep up. Overall, I would still highly recommend them as a stop for the quality of their wine and the friendliness of their staff!

10/10! The best wines in the area! Chris helped us immediately and was so knowledgeable. Chris explained every wine in detail, which was helpful bc I love wine but am pregnant and my husband was tasting. We both had such a great time and we got some to take home so I can try them later. If you love wine, stop here - it’s a real winery and not like some of the other touristy ones.

My family and I absolutely loved MCellars WInery. The food, wine, atmosphere, service, entertainment... everything was top knotch! There were several levels to the establishment which offered a different feel and a sence of coziness for all! Definitely will come back and recommend everyone to give them a visit!

Above and beyond the BEST winery in the Grand River Valley! Chris was so incredibly knowledgeable, helping to add to my understanding and appreciation of wine. Met Paige and Kelly, as well as the owners. Wines were so expressive both on the nose and palate. They use real crystal glasses, showing their commitment to quality. We ended up visiting two days in a row. That’s how highly we thought of this winery. My thanks particularly to Chris for being so entertaining, professional, and knowledgeable. I can’t say it enough, you need to pay M Cellars a visit.

Our first time in Geneva, we visited a few wineries and this one was a favourite. Fantastic wines. The Meritage Reserve was our favourite. Chris was very knowledgeable. We also enjoyed a meat and cheese plate which was perfect with our glass of wine.

What a fantastic experience at M Cellars. Such a personal journey they provided through their wines. Taking time to compare a variety of samples with a lot of informative dialogue. We went to several in the area and no other experience like it. Not just give us some money and we will pour you some samples approach. It’s the perfect stop for those that are more into dry than sweet wines for sure. Classy place with classy wines!! We found our fav for sure and look forward to coming back for events!!!

M Cellars is easily one of my favorite places in Ohio's wine country, offering the best wine-tasting experience in the area. We came in with a group of 4 friends from out of town and everyone was VERY impressed. Tara and Matt are incredible people and have truly elevated the local wine scene. Their selection of wine stands out, especially for those who appreciate the complexity of red wines. M Cellars' wines can hold their own against the best wines I have had, proving that Ohio has its own unique and exquisite wine identity. While their top-notch wines are priced to reflect their quality, the staff and experience were incredible. They went above and beyond walking through the options and what we should get based on our individual tastes. 100% recommend

What a great experience! I highly recommend this place! It only cost $0.25 a tasting, which is awesome and well worth it. Beautiful views out the back window as well. We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace too. And what delicious wines too!!

One of the many wineries in the area. We stopped in for a bite to eat and a glass of local wine. I've been to many of the local wineries and particularly appreciate what M Cellers has to offer. I only wish they had a larger menu and served meals too. I will say the dishes they do offer are copious and delicious. We sat by the fireplace and appreciated the warmth given the time of year. Born in Geneva , I have lived most of my life in France and I've noticed how the local wines have changed over time and I think if I brought some of my French friends to the area they would enjoy trying many of them especially those on offer here at M Cellars. A few days later: Feb. 4. 2024 I'd just like to add that I stopped in again with a friend who had never been to M Cellars. He got a glass of the Brut Rosé and I went down the list of wines tasting most of them..... At 0.25$ a taste, why not? I can't say that there was anything I really didn't like and I tasted at least 8 different wines from sparkling rosé to white to red to sweet port style, my favorites are still All of the dry reds. If you like dryer wines closer to what you'd find in Europe, you really must come in to M Cellers and try what they have on offer. Thank you Kelly for sharing your wine experience with us. It was a very pleasant afternoon.

Above and beyond!!! Chris delivered exceptional customer service!!! I needed to get two bottles of wine for a Christmas party gift but couldn’t make it until after hours. Chris understood and suggested that I pay for it and he would then put it in a secret spot outside for me to pick up. Thank you Chris for going above and beyond to make my last minute issue smooth sailing. Merry Christmas!!!

This place is a must stop. The staff is amazing and wine for any taste. The food is fabulous and the atmosphere is beyond wonderful. So recommend! See Courtney, Robert, Kristen, and Kelly to help you. You will so not be disappointed!

Really great selection of wine. We appreciated their attempts toward lower intervention viticulture. Also, many of their wines had low residual sugar. Awesome outside patio/views. Delicious snacks. Will be back!! Katie took care of us and she was so friendly, but also very informative about the wines (which made the experience 1000000% better)!

We stopped for a wine tasting and enjoyed all of the wines, each better than the last. We plan to make this a regular stop when in the area.

Visited in July on a camping trip. The first day we were fortunate to have Chris. He was exceptional at explaining wines to us and gave us a great wine tasting experience. He was very knowledgeable and really made the tasting a true “experience.” Best service we had on our four day winery excursions.

Best winery in Northeast Ohio! 🍷 We’ve been to many wineries in Ohio and M Cellars wines are the smoothest, cleanest wines in the region. If you are looking for something that resembles other popular wine regions, this is where you want to go! Their wines never disappoint!

My wife and I stopped at M Cellars and we were so happy that they do tastings like you should. Other wineries in the area are ripping you off at $15 for samples and that is is for a total of 4 oz to 6 oz total pour. Seriously a rip off. M Cellars does a $1 tasting plus Katie was an awesome host. She explained the wines and you can tell she loves her job and sharing the wine experience. All other local wineries need to take note. After dropping $15 for a white flight and the same for red flight we won’t buy wine from you. M Cellars is now our go to winery and it is a MUST to stop in and visit. The Crown Jewel of our 2 day road trip! It had been a few years since we have taken time to go to the Grand River valley and visit the many vineyards/ wineries here. This weekend , we made plans with friends and made it up there for a great time and great ride with our convertibles. After visiting over a dozen in the 2 days of this beautiful area, one stood out above the rest. M Cellars! I read a previous rating where the individual stated many of the points I would mention. Great staff, who don't "sell". They educate and promote. Elegant, but simple tasting area and building surrounded by awesome vineyards. Finally, great owners who really take time to meet people and interact with them. Matt and Tara are exceptional individuals who cherish and love their vineyard. It shows. We will not be away from this awesome winery for long! Cheers! Jim and Trish Marks

Been to 5 wineries in Geneva and M Cellars is my most favorite so far. Glad to have a nice place to sip a glass of wine sometimes. I used to visit Napa monthly and I really enjoy this establishment. Nice live music, good vibe, friendly staff, and nice wine.

We visited eight wineries on our weekend getaway, and M was far and away our favorite (not sure it was really close). It was the ONLY winery that offered us detailed descriptions of their wines, and really made us feel at home by graciously offering us tastes of whatever we wanted. Some spots we visited were charging up to $4-5 just to TASTE something. M understands how to build a relationship with visitors, and it made us want to spend more time there. It was the only place we visited twice. Perhaps most importantly, it was the BEST wine we had on our trip (again, not particularly close). We had such a great experience, and can't wait to go back.

Meritage red wine was excellent! So far the best tasting wine in the Geneva area! Dog friendly :) We have tried many wines in the Geneva area and always come back to M Cellar, all the reds we tried we're far superior to the other vineyards in the area.

In brief: if you want to try high-quality wine without intimidation, this is your place. I cannot believe that after years of trying other wineries around the country but always coming back here that I hadn't done a review yet, so here goes: Matt and Tara make very high-quality wines that could be pretentious but aren't because they are laid-back, joyful people as is their whole staff. The grounds and tasting room are simple and lovely, their approach to growing everything they bottle is wonderful, and their hands-on approach makes for wonderful wines. We've brought friends from all over, and no one has ever been disappointed. Our favorite winery, and some of our very favorite people!

Some of the best wines in Geneva

We have been wine club members since M Cellars came to a wine festival in the Columbus region in 2013. Although we're 2.5 hrs away, we make the trek up to the Geneva/Madison area at least once a year (we try for twice), and that's solely for our M Cellars wine, although we have a couple other places we frequent in the area now too (M Cellars is still to this day our favorite and the only one we're members at). We just visited tonight and had a WONDERFUL and incredibly informative tasting with Robert. I'm sorry it's taken so long to let you know just how much we love this winery. Best in the area, PROMISE, because we've tried them all!!!

M Cellars was a great find on our visit to Geneva On The Lake area this week! They have a beautiful tasting room and a very relaxed vibe, with high quality wines. Robert shared his extensive knowledge of their wines and provided an informative and pleasant tasting experience for us. We enjoyed both the dry reds and whites and brought home a case to share with friends. We will definitely be return visitors!

We highly recommend the meritage from m cellars. We sampled a few wines and then ultimately just ordered a few glasses. We did not get a chance to try the food.

If you want exceptional wine look no further! The Noiret is probably one of my favorites reds ever. Great views off the back deck and extremely helpful staff make this a stop every time we come out!

Fantastic wine and hospitality here. Really loved the 2021 Noiret paired up with the chocolate truffles available. Kris was stellar and provided an amazing tasting experience!

What a great idea to have a clam bake on the patio in the early fall while the lush purple grapes are ready for harvest! What a wonderful night with friends at the most gorgeous venue!

Their wines are amazing. One of the best tasting experiences you will have. Their staff really knows the wines. They tell you about the wines as you taste them, rather than just give you a flight.

Beautiful place with great wine

The only winery so far to use wineglasses for tastings. We go up to the bar, they serve each wine individually and tell you about it as you taste. By far the best wine tasting experience of the dozen ish wineries I've been to over the past few days. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable and the grounds are beautiful inside and out. We ended up staying after our tasting to have a glass outside while we listened to live music in a relaxed setting.

Finally made it in yesterday. Glad I did. Some of the best Ohio Wine I have had to date. Raising the bar with some "real deal" dry reds. Showing what potential the Grand River Valley AVA has. Kudos! Hopefully other growers and makers will follow. Can't forget to mention that Chris was a knowledgeable guide throughout the tasting experience.

We had an excellent time at this winery. Not only was the tasting experience super fun, the wines are wonderful (especially the Brut Rose). The staff are knowledgeable and amazing too and really made our experience quite fabulous. This is by far the best of our tour and heartily recomended!!

WHEELCHAIR USERS BEWARE! Not wheelchair or ADA accessible whatsoever! Do not believe what you read on their website. There is not A SINGLE accessible parking spot, the whole parking lot is gravel and the tour is not accessible after the rain. After making a complaint and getting the run around from staff, I finally made contact with the head of PR. This able-bodied person decided to argue with me about how accessible the space was despite never having to experience life in my shoes or navigate it the way I have to. They fortunately gave me a refund, but just because they “claim” to be accessible doesn’t mean that they are. The wheels on my wheelchair are now permanently damaged just trying to get to and from the car into the wine tasting space. Never again.

I visited for the first time this past weekend. We had a fabulous experience with tasting several (most) of the available options, including a few that weren’t on the menu…had an amazing time, bought a case to take home, and definitely plan to return soon!

What a delightful place! The upstairs is quiet, intimate with sound deadening panels for a relaxing excursion, even amidst the party bus groups. The staff including Robert were wonderful. Attentive, informative, helpful and their wines are great. Robert also is their resident artisan with handmade wooden bowls and glass vases. Come check them out!
