Love everything about this place! Come by once a month when I drive thru the town and it’s my go-to!

Food is really good. Did not expect the enchiladas to be the best I've ever had. Shrimp cocktail was oh so good! Service was a bit slow, but expected after you walk in and see how busy they are. This gem is well hidden, who knew!

I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. First of all the place stunk. There was a smell of BO. Second I seriously think the waitress was death. I ordered a carne asada plate. She never told me they had run out of meat. So I waited and waited for my plate for about 10 minutes It wasn’t till I approached her and asked her where my food was when she informed me that they didn’t have meat. Needless to say I was disappointed. I am never going back to this place. Poor service and dirty place

I don't recommend it, terrible service, the only waitress they have ignores you and serves other people first, they should hire more staff and the place is not full and they don't even serve you, don't go.

I just went today and ordered to go. I was a lil disappointed that I had to wait a lil long. I must tell you, that the wait was worth it. The service was great, but the food was greater. The fish that we got was full of flavor, I was a lil skeptical at first about ordering seafood, but they proved that the flavor and presentation were there.

Food is Delicious! Hot & Fresh. I had the Chile Relleno plate. Very tasty & fulfilling. Beer was Cold! Will definitely go back again.

Excellent Mexican food! Ate here with a couple friends on a weekday. We were seated immediately, and they took our drink orders. The chips and salsa were awesome, as were the entrees. We would definitely eat here again.

This place has some of the best seafood in the valley.. out of all the businesses in that current location, Ma Lupes has been there the longest and has done very well. So well that they plan on opening a 2nd location here in the valley.. 2nd location may already be opened, but I'm not completely sure

Always good! My husband and I stopped in for a light dinner. He had a small size shrimp cocktail and we shared the tostada plate which consisted of 2 beef tostadas, rice and beans. The tostadas were very, very, good. The corn tortillas had just been fried and they were crispy and warm. The shredded beef was tender and flavorful. There was a small container of warm, mild salsa, which was a very nice addition. There was also beans and rice. The beans are served in a freshly fried tortilla shell , shaped into a bowl. So cute and so good. We eat here about once a month and tonight the wait staff was as always friendly, knowledge about the menu, eager to see us happy, and made us feel like family. You won’t be disappointed. If your food is t what you expect, please let the staff know. They’ll make it right.

Sauces were 99.8 % water. Disgusting

Shrimp cocktail and whole fried fish are star dishes. Special quesadilla is not the best.

I ordered enchiladas at lunch and really enjoyed them. Price was reasonable. Definitely will eat here again

Long wait, a little pricey for average food, also no free chips and salsas like most Mexican food places especially with the long wait to receive your food. Our server was friendly. Would definitely recommend going elsewhere.

Made a trip to imperial to give a friend a ride so I figured I would try out this spot next to Aten express. Got off to place an order for shrimp cocktail and chicken enchiladas. Wasn't really impressed or should I say taken back with the food. The shrimp cocktail was flat with no stand out flavor. The enchiladas weren't greatly represented then the chicken seemed a bit dry and, last off the sauce seemed very mild almost as if it was from a jar or just el pato mixed with something else. Beans and rice were okay but not worth going out of your way for. If you are in the area I suggest hitting "Flautas & Sopes" instead.

Made a phone order, was told it was going to be ready in 15 min. I showed up 25 min. later food wasn't ready. I got my food 35 min after I had shown up. When I got up to ask if it'll be longer so I can ask for a refund, the manager desperately attempted to hurry the cook which tells me my food was never being made till I reminded them. I waited in line to get my money back but the manager rushed at me to hand me the poorly made rushed food. Definitely not going back. The servers we nice and even one of them knew that it was talking to long and you can tell she felt bad.

Always pass this place until one day I just wanted to stop and try it ...Staff is so welcoming ..service was great ..food came out fast and was really good 👍

Food down the street is the same but this place is cheaper.

Went for a second time our shrimp cocktail had a hair wrapped around the spoon and a piece of shrimp.... the carne asada plate which was $17.50 a plate was horrible, the meat was supposed to be arracherra and it looked like beef Jerky it was salty and beans tasted like they had been rewarmed way to many times.....

Not impressed by the huevos Ranchero breakfast. I never had French fries with a Mexican dish

Burritos that I've tried are Great but the enchiladas specifically and others weren't good at all maybe bad day for the cook or idk but they truly were worst I've had, so bad my kids didn't eat them and we didn't finish their 3 enchilada plate when i normally will eat 6 or more easily. Service was good though everytime

The shrimp ceviche is very good and fresh. The portions are generous.

We were just passing through El Centro. We found this place by chance. We noticed a few Police Cars parked on their lot. We thought, If the cops eat here, it's probably good". We were not disappointed. Our server was pleasant, the service was good, the food tasty and did not take too long to get to us. The beer was cold. The price was fair. What more can one ask?

Its a hit or miss. Had great food there before, but my last visit, the California Burrito was unsat!. no bueno!.. I will try once again to see if gets better. Ask for a Carne assada plate! the BEST! and the Ceviche AMAZING! VERY GOOD

The restaurant charges the salsa and chips but the salsa had a very good flavor. l asked for a tostada and taco and l realized , even in the Dona Shop's are better ones.

The food is so good here and the employees are very welcoming and friendly. The waiters always come by and see if you need anything. I highly recommend this restaurant. I forgot to take pictures of the food, but I had Ma Lupes burrito and everyone else tried the Botana Imperial and they all loved it.

Handmade tortillas, the horchata is made from scratch, SO GOOD! It is hard to find GOOD Mexican food in the Valley and this is the place! Love it.

My wife and I have eating at this place at least a few times. If you want traditional Mexican dishes, this place isn't bad, but not great either. For seafood, you're honestly better of going to La Resaca,way better flavor on aguachile, shrimp cocktail and other fresh seafood related dishes.

Pablitos burrito a.k.a. Cali burrito! First time here having a burrito and I could not put the burrito down after the first bite. Very delicious and authentic!

This is the best Mexican Style Restaurant in Imperial Valley. You come in and are greeted with a loud "Welcome". The aguas frescas, chips and salsa are homemade, which I can't say about many other places. With this being said, if theres a reason why it might be a while before getting your food, its because its truly homemade. The food is delicious and freshly cooked. The tortillas are bomb as well, definitely homemade. Every time I eat here I am extremely thankful for the great service and delicious food. Always take an agua de jamaica to go also. Thanks MaLupe's!

First time there, and food was delicious!!

Ma Lupe's is the kind of Mexican restaurant that I want every other mom-and-pop Mexican restaurant in America to aspire to be. These days, I eye-roll at "authenticity" as a culinary concept, but I'm all for getting closer to the originally envisioned recipe without feeling as if someone wants me to nod my head and acknowledge it. Ma Lupe's just wants to serve me a good meal. The quality of the food and service during my visit was indeed on the higher-end (despite the menu being affordable), beginning with an amuse bouche of "Filete Relleno de Mariscos," which consisted of a delicate filet of fish, grilled octopus, and shrimp, all wrapped in cheese. It was, by far, the best bite of food I've had in this desert region of Southern California, and I kicked myself for not knowing to order the full entrée. You, dear readers, now have no such excuse. The "Mexicali Flauta" (a large taquito, essentially) was a miss. While I enjoyed its piquant red tomato sauce, it made the flauta soggy, undoing the frying. Also, the beef inside was difficult to taste. The "Gobernador Taco," on the other hand, was awesome. The crunchy corn tortilla is grilled until it blisters and the cheese has been melted into a salty, stretchy web that keeps the shrimp snugly inside. The chipotle cream sauce on the side is exceptional and should be used unsparingly. Additionally, the complimentary chips are served with a spicy salsa roja with heavy garlic and onion flavor that also could be applied to this taco. Earlier this summer, I wrote about the "Special Quesadilla" invented at El Centro's Camacho's Place and how imitations have popped up at Mexican restaurants nearby. Its appearance at Ma Lupe's is a head-scratcher, because this restaurant's menu otherwise veers towards 100% Mexican dishes. I coyly interrogated my waitress (who was excellent, by the way) about the "Special Quesadilla," asking her if she's ever seen such a thing in her native Mexico, and she shook her head and laughed, "No way, this is American." Ma Lupe's "Special Quesadilla" is heavy, rich, and crispy. Unlike at Camacho's Place, it is more of a meal here than an antojito. Also, whereas Camacho's Place's rendition is made in a dough similar to puff pastry, the cooked dough in Ma Lupe's version wants to crumble when pinched, almost like a pie crust. Regardless, both versions are good and unique to the Imperial Valley region. Ma Lupe's is perhaps the restaurant I have most enjoyed dining at in Imperial Valley and a "must-stop" for me on future road-trips between San Diego and Arizona destinations.

The location is Great, food is delicious, the service is exceptional and can't beat the prices. Enjoy your meal while your there peacefully.

All of they employees provide excellent customer service every time I visit. Food is very tasty and aguas frescas are very good too. My favorite Mexican food in Imperial Valley.
