Expensive place, not good service

The food was eh nothing crazy wouldn’t go out my way to come here again

The worst experience since I have lived in the USA. I went with my family to eat Peruvian food that we missed so much but it didn't surprise us, the jelly was burnt, the fish for the ceviche was not fresh and for what they charge it's not that much. What took the icing on the cake was that they obligatorily charged us 18% for service, around 20 USD, and they also asked for a tip. They had never forced me to give 20% in any restaurant, when I went to complain they told me that this fee could not be eliminated and that it was because sometimes they left few tips and that is why they now automatically include it when you ask for the bill. Terrible! And they got the wrong dishes when they gave us the order, they took the plate away from us and then gave it to us again 😫. All bad, I will never go to that place again nor recommend it to anyone.

We are Hondurans and we visit this place, we are delighted with the delicious place, everything.

I don't know if they change cooks or if it is impossible to maintain a recipe? I have come on different occasions and I simply ended up being totally disappointed in this restaurant. The salty tacu tacu, the ceviche 👎🏼 the huancaina noodles were any other sauce but it never resembled a huancaina sauce. The chicha 👎🏼

The food was quite unpleasant. We ordered 3 dishes, an appetizer and two main dishes and none of them were good. The taste was pretty bad and after all the dishes are expensive. I do not recommend it

I tell you about my experience today, I am Peruvian and a chef, the service was very good, there is no doubt about it, we ordered chicha morada, it had too much lemon, I ordered a ceviche and the leche de tigre was overloaded with lemon and cilantro, it must be of moderate use, dry beef with beans, the dry beef was good, the beans too salty, lomo saltado, salty if you are going to use silao or oyster sauce do not overload the salt, it did not have the combined flavor that It should have been flamed, we ordered a pisco sour that looked like lemonade with pisco, to top it off when I canceled the account they charged me (18.0%) of the consumption automatically without being able to claim. Next time I will think about it 3 times if I return.

The food is very delicious, the music leaves a lot to be desired, the service is very good, but I will not return because reggaeton hurts my ears.

Machuu Pichuu is a fantastic Peruvian restaurant with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is delicious and authentic, making it a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience genuine Peruvian cuisine. Highly recommended!

Having traveled to Peru many times, I was excited to try Machu Pichu. The food is quite good and is authentic. The ceviche tropical mixto was really good as was the shredded chicken (aji de gallina) and the fried yucca is the best I ever had. My only complaint is that the prices are a bit high, especially for their cocktails. For example, almost $15 for a Pisco sour, and a relatively small one at that, is pretty steep. I was also surprised by an 18% "Service Charge". You might assume that was the tip for the staff but there was also a line for the tip. If you didn't notice and added a tip on top of the service charge, the meal would get ridiculously overpriced.

If you are looking for authentic Peruvian flavors, this place is no longer it. I just came back after a couple of years, and I am beyond disappointed. The flavors were awful, and nothing taste Peruvian despite the restaurant having access to Peruvian ingredients in local international supermarkets. I brought my out-of-town family for dinner and I felt beyond embarrassed. The only thing that taste fine was the Maracuya. The service was also subpar. Please note that I am Peruvian and I know exactly what Peruvian dishes are supposed to taste like, and so do my family. I never left leftovers on my plate in any Peruvian restaurant, but I had to at macchu picchu. Avoid like the plague, flavorless food, small portions, overpriced.

Very fun Peruvian restaurant. Yummy food. They even have live music sometimes. We really enjoyed our food and the overall experience. As someone with poor vision I will note that it is rather dark but that’s fine for most people.

I wanted to be so positive about this place, even after the service was horrible to the point where we waited for our very first re fill for 30 minutes, no joke. We also had to stand up and go look for our server to get the check because we waited for about 20 minutes, would’ve told her when she brought the cokes back but she kept just putting the stuff on the table and immediately leaving without asking if we needed anything else. The food is a very small portion, specifically for the price. $22 for something that looked like an appetizer is crazy and it really wasn’t good, it was just ok. What set me off, is them tipping themselves. The service was disgusting and the food overpriced, I’m sorry but no I’m not tipping a server that was in the corner talking to her friends laughing and standing and watching TV right in front of us while continuously ignoring us. We were charged $70, our food was $57.48. Disgusting and ridiculous, don’t come not worth it at all.

Good service and excellent food. I liked the chicha morada and although what they call sancocho does not compare to that of the Dominican Republic, it had a very good flavor. I recommend it

The food is tasty The service is warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was great! Latín music playing, warm lights and quiet, not so busy and overwhelming during noon hours.

This place was a disappointment. I visited with family for Mother's Day and the experience was definitely underwhelming and we really wished we had gone somewhere else. First for food, the flavor was decent but it's so overpriced. I ordered a Jalea, and for $20+ I expected a great Jalea... instead got a few small pieces of fish and some pieces of Yuca. They gave me fried fish strips and called it Jalea. I could've gotten a MUCH better serving of fried fish at Showmars for $8 For service, this was plain terrible. They seated us and never brought over any menus, we kept waiting and no server was paying any attention. We had to get up and ask them for menus. Then we kept waiting and waiting for someone to come over and take our order... they didnt, we had to get up and ask them to come take our order. For atmosphere, the location itself was a normal decent restaurant. However, they had a live singer singing to music tracks. The music was SO loud we couldn't have a conversation because we had to keep screaming over the music. It was so loud, we had to wait in between songs to get a word in. I know live music is great, but it can be great without be ridiculously loud. Also,the singer would go to each table and sang an entiiiire song. It felt like he wouldn't leave unless you gave him a tip, if felt so uncomfortable, like when someone comes up to you on the road asking for money and they're just looking at you in your car... same experience. We even said thank you and gestured with a smile during the first couple of verses to acknowledge him... but then he just stayed singing. About midway through the song we gave him a tip, hoping that would cue him to go to the next table but he stayed there singing the whole thing. It was awful.

Shredded chicken was real good 👍 portion size was small for 21 dollars 💸.

The Shrimp Chupe is too watery and is not made correctly because for the chupe to take on the characteristic flavor it has to be cooked with whole shrimp, the chupe has to be more consistent and not so watery! The loin was sweet and has to be flamed so that it takes on that “smoky” flavor that this one did not have. The chicken cause was good! The sauces are very delicious! The attention was good!

A member of our party asked to use the bathroom before we sat down and as they were returning from the bathroom, one of the waitresses roughly grabbed her arm and said, "what do you think you're doing?" She assumed our mother had already eaten and was trying to leave without paying for her meal even though she had just entered the restaurant 2 minutes earlier. The manager did a poor job of addressing the issue when we brought it up to him. We carry at least once every two weeks and after this? No chance. We went in to celebrate a birthday and immediately things started off on a bad note. A member of our party asked to use the bathroom before we got seated and when they were coming back from the bathroom, one of the waitresses roughly grabbed her by the arm and said, “what do you think you're doing?” She assumed that our mom had already tied up and was trying to leave without paying for her food even though she barely entered the restaurant 2 minutes prior. The manager did a poor job of addressing the issue when we brought it up to him. We come at least once every other week and after this? Not a chance.

I recommend this Peruvian restaurant, its food is very delicious and the service is excellent...

Ordered aji de gallina and asked for no olives only to be given olives. I can now make aji de gallina on my own and no longer have to rely on theirs. PSA mine tastes better.

Fantastic chicken rice. That’s all they have going. Other dishes are over priced and lack quality. They forget food to the table and in to go orders. They charge the wrong things it’s a mess.

It is a coincidence that on the 2 occasions that I have gone to the Macchu Picchu restaurant they have made purchases with my card in another country. That disappointed me a lot.

I had ordered food over the phone when I got there to pick up the food, I noticed they were charging me a higher price. Their excuse was prices online were not correct. You would think that they will honor me the price on line since it was not my fault but they didn’t. While I was waiting for my food , I proceeded to drink my Inca kola, and I asked the lady to pls handled me a straw (cañita) the Venezuelan employees (on the other side of the counter as you walk in ) were looking each other and did NOT MOVE. Finally, the younger one told the other lady to please go get the straw because she was working on my receipt. When she handed me the receipt, she DID NOT GIVE ME AN OPTION TO SIGN. I proceeded to reviewed my receipt before I left. (Thank God I did) I noticed that she had given herself $10 tip. I asked her… why did you give yourself a $10 and her response was …that’s the service fee of her going to the kitchen and putting my food in the bag. I asked for my $10 back she only gave me 9. I wonder to how many customer she has done this , STEALING , putting herself her own tip, or change the amount. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, IT GOTTEN WORST, SINCE HE GOT THOSE TYPES OF EMPLOYEES WORKING THERE. (VENEZUELAN WAITRESS, THEY ARE RUDE AND ARROGANT) the food it’s ok. I would look at the receipt twice!

Wonderfully delicious! The yuca is fried perfectly, the rotisserie chicken is moist and seasoned so well, and the fried plantains are just the right amount of sweet. Service is always spectacular. We appreciate the FOH staff being flexible when we request a booth against the wall rather than one of the free-standing booths.

The food here is great and the place is clean.... Sunday night my wife and I went to celebrate the new year there. As we arrive our name was not listed and everyone was kind of acting crazy trying to accommodate their guests. There was no table for us so they put one in a corner with little to non view to the activity areas, I ask to be move to another table and I was told there wasn't although there was plenty available. Went to the bar for a couple of beers and no one seems to care to ask what I want. Was getting upset by now and ask for my money back and that wasn't to bad but I can since their actitude was upsetting.

It was amazing the food was delicious I would definitely come here again! The service is 10/10 I love it def recommend

This is a hidden gem of a restaurant!! Hassam the manager went out of his way to make our dining experience here a memorable one. His menu recommendations were fantastic and the Peruvian fish & fare is the best in Charlotte. If you are looking for a different kind of dining experience & fantastic seafood, this is a good place to go.

Food quality exceeded my expectations! Sauces are off the charts good on the food. Lomo Saltado sandwich is great and the seafood dish I had was amazing. Interior decor is nice and staff is friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

My wife and I just ate a late lunch here. Food was on point. She had Lomo saltado (steak) and I had the rotisserie chicken. We both loved what we had along with the sides and sauces.

I WANTED TO GIVE THIS PLACE 4 STARS,, THEN IT ALL WENT FROM GOOD TO WORSE.. The music in the resturant was too loud,, I felt like I was in a bar the whole time.. My server didn't speak English and had to use Google translate,, a bit awkward.. The food had good flavor all around,, but my rotisserie chicken was dry and overcooked.. At the end,, I don't understand why,, but I was receiving odd looks,, from several staff members,, very unsettling. Then I got my check,, and was charged a 3% card use fee,, thats your cost of doing busuness not mine.. I probably won't ever go back,, or recommend this place.. Sad,, it had potential at first..

Rotisserie Chicke its a 6 out of 10 , thats the only thing kind of ok , Very Very Poor service of some waitresses, specially if you order something togo, they will not acknowledge you , while you to go order sits at the window over 20 or more minutes.

OVERPRICED. The food was tasty, though not stellar. With an appetizer at roughly $10, two main courses at nearly $25 each, two $15 drinks, an 18% service fee and a 3% credit card fee, our total for two rang up as over $105. If they would offer "small" sizes on drinks for a bit less, that could at least help cut the cost. I don't think we'll be back.

We picked up some food and paid $70. When we got home which is 50 mins away this was the food we got. It didn’t even taste good, and for the amount of food we received $70 was ridiculous. I reached out, spoke to the manager he was suppose to get back to me never did; Said he couldn’t refund me because he did not have the authority, although he is the manager if that even makes sense. Needless to say will not be returning.

Good, at the same time, the imposition of a tip is not my cup of tea, plus 3% if you pay with a credit card. In the end, you are paying 21% gratuity if you like it or not. I am not sure I will be back.

I give this place one star because although the food was good, they charged a 18% service charge that you normally see for parties of 6 (there was only 3 of us) on top of the 3% that they charge for using a card to pay!!!! So disappointed in my own people. I will not be back for this reason alone! Oh! And don’t get the chicha morada! It takes like water.

Unintentionally picked footballll ⚽️ game night to visit which made for a very loud and intense atmosphere which was a bit overwhelming to my date and I but the food was great and we did enjoy it.

Food was extremely good can’t complain about that my wife and I traveled almost 2 hours to go eat there And it was worth it. What i didn’t like was the service i had to stand up and go ask for extra plates, or i had to go and ask for some more stuff. And then when i got the ticket i had to wait more i had to stand up and look for someone to charge me not to mention they added the tip on the ticket which i think thats ridiculous. I mean if i did all that while i was eating my food Is it fair to still tip? Anyways food was really good Thumbs up to the chef but they need to tighten up on costumer service 100% it’s understandable when a restaurant is full but it was not packed at all.

I’ve never had such an awful experience at a restaurant before. I sat at a table and waited for 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order while extremely loud music played in the background. It took several complaints from multiple parties before they finally turned it down. Nobody ever came around to check if we needed water or anything after the initial order until it was time for the check, which had a surprisingly high service fee of 18%, even in a party of two with no service really given to us. Multiple waitresses were uncomplying to fix an issue when our food tasted cold, hard, and overstored. You could tell the rest of the staff was aware of all the issues but were equally unwilling to do anything about it and instead went to laugh behind the counter to gossip rather than do their job. Do yourself a favor and eat anywhere else, you’ll get better service from a fast food drive-through than you will here.

This is a truly real authentic Peruvian resturant. The food was awesome and both dishes that we ordered was totally great tasting. We were there on a Sunday so they had music videos playing but the have a stage set up I believe for live music. Really nice place and the staff were so friendly and inviting, had a great experience

If you like expensive food, poor service, involuntary 18% tip for 2 or more people, inability to understand a food order in English (so you have to point at the menu), and Spanish variety show music blasting.. this is the place for you. I've come here twice, because the food was good and my bad experience the first time HAD TO HAVE BEEN a fluke, but nope. It was terrible the second time as well.

Nice atmosphere. Food was good. Super Fast kitchen. A bit of a 'nit', and my reason for the 3 on service. The wait staff didn't check on us once food was delivered, so we had to flag a bus person down for drink refills which took too long, (we were the only customers @ 5pm). Normally ok but during hottest week of summer not so much. Fried rice bowl with seafood was excellent. Generous and nicely seasoned with fresh seafood. Shredded chicken and rice a little bland, good choice for those averse to seasoning.

La.comida es buena, la atención es un poco lenta y mala, en la medida q las.meseras solo prestan atención a la puerta de entrada y no se fijan en las personas q están en las.mesas. por otro lado, la atmósfera del restaurante tiene un aire a discoteca, muy oscuro, no logra con sus escalas de grises un ambiente sutil, parece más un reservado con karaoke. Es necesario una intervención en su estilo para q genere una atmósfera agradable y sutil, q es lo q creo busca la.administracion con sus escalas de grises oscuros

The rotisserie chicken was great! The service was the worst I've experienced in years. The waitress seemed to forget we were at the table. Perhaps we were invisible. Maybe she was tired. At the end we were handed a bill with a tacked on 18% surcharge for... ??? Apparently, they add this extra charge if you walk in after 5 pm. Maybe we should have been told this ahead of time? I'd go back. -- maybe -- but only for takeout and only for the chicken.

La comida ha mejorado mucho lo mismo qué la atención. El local esta muy bien arreglado. Yo había dejado de ir por la mala atención y ahora no puedo dejar de hacerlo. Es la representacion de Perú y hay que hacerlo muy bien . Éxitos.
