We have been going to the Sunday brunch for many years and until now, I would have given it five stars, but our most recent visit was somewhat disappointing. There is all you can eat lobster, which is great, but it appears that they are offering fewer other choices than before. They also have raised the price.

At $49.95 + tax and tip per head this weekly Sunday brunch is not cheap, but its a bargain! Imagine, all the Maine lobster you can eat, exotic entrees that constantly change, carving bar with local premium beef, crepes, sweets, and so much more! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, was fresh and delicious from soup to after-dinner coffee. We came away painfully but satisfyingly stuffed! Nicest waitstaff--every request was met with a reply of "of course!" Lovely vintage setting. The only thing missing was a white tablecloth.

Had a New Year's Eve dinner reservation for 2 people at 7:30. At 7:30, we told the hostess we were there. There were 2 couples ahead of us and 1 group of 4. Many couples and groups arrived after us. However, we were the last couple to be seated, which was at 8:10! I asked the hostess about their seating process, said we were one of the first people to arrive, yet the last seated. She said everyone arrived at once. Not true. After being seated, we waited 10 more minutes for the waitress to greet us. The food was good, but we will never return, due to the long wait for a table.

Whenever we go to Freeport we always go to the Harraseeket Inn to eat a meal or two at their other restaurant, The Broad Arrow Tavern. We have always enjoyed it there so this time when we saw that they did a Lobster Brunch on Sundays in this other restaurant they have we decided to try it out. It was $49.95 per person and believe me, it was worth every cent ! They had the lobster, of course, and prime rib that was juicy and tender. They had many sides, salads and soups, all of which were great. They had a plentiful selection of home made pies and other desserts for those of us who had any room left for them..... The staff are pleasant and helpful and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We very much enjoyed this buffet brunch and would highly recommend it to anyone. I would suggest that you make reservations though as it fills up quickly.

We went for dinner with some friends, who were delighted to see the atmosphere of these small restaurant inside the hotel. The starters were really nice, especially the lobster crepe, and the mains also. We loved our lobster! And also the desserts were really good. Nothing to complain about, nice setting, nice food, prices average for what you order.

Poorly managed with inferior quality food and non caring rude staff. I arrive for my 6:30 pm reservation at 6:30 only to be told by the hostess that she canceled my 6 pm reservation when I did not show. I insisted it was 6:30 and she argued back it was not. She finally sat my party with obvious distant and then returned to out table 10 minutes later to explain that her list of tables showed 6 pm but the computer showed 6:30 pm and that she was right by her list. Really who cares. Now what was hoped to be a fine dinning evening begins with the order of a bottle of wine. Our server presented the wine but she never returned to refill the glasses. I was surprised but understand self service. Our order was placed and we relaxed in anticipation of a fine meal. An hour later when no food had appeared I returned to the hostess to ask if there was an issue with the kitchen. She rudely explained the restruant was very busy (there were 5 other tables occupied) and I needed to be patient. At which time the restruant manager intervened to assist. Twenty five minutes later our food arrive (an hour and half since being seated. Several plates were undercooked and two were indeed over done. We proceed to dine and elected another bottle of wine which again our server presented but failed to return to refill any wine glasses. While ordering dessert and delivery of same proved less taxing after three hours at a table with poor service and mediocre food we departed the Inn. Rather than post a bad review I thought it best to contact management and see if indeed it was an odd night at the Inn. I leaned there indeed is only the owner/manager who responds to any issues on the property and he was not on property and indeed tending to other investments. I ask for him to contact me via cell if possible and the operator said she would reach out management. He never returned my call. I called again the next day and indeed yet again the sole management never returned my call. Clearly given the attitude of the hostess, the ill prepared food, the poor service of the server and indeed the lack of concern of management I would always elect any other venue.

Our room came with breakfast each morning served buffet style in the Maine Harvest room. The morning wait staff were very friendly and fast with juice, coffee and tea service with refills before you even thought about it. The buffet was slightly different each of our three mornings. Lots of choices ; eggs, breads, muffins, cereals (both hot and cold), fruit, yogurt, pancakes, french toast and on and on. all of it excellent except maybe for the sugar free choices meant to please those who required them. My only negative comment relates to the evening we could not get a table at the Broad Arrow for at least an hour. The hostess at the Maine Harvest refused to seat a party of eight for dinner though there were many empty tables. The breakfast staff were fortunately much more accommodating.

The Inn looks cozy and popular too. We planned a business dinner that turned into a discussion of the food served instead of the business at-hand, oh well! Not sure why the restaurant is popular, please tell me. Desserts were excellent; the main courses were average at best, The cranberry salad was excellent; the soup was weak, not creamy, the N.Y. steak was grass fed but the cut was marred by two nerves that made it look like a cheap cut and tough too- for $34 (not worth it); the lamb chops were from N.Z. not Maine, understandable, two were great, cooked perfect but the third was over cooked, it was from another day. Service was attentive and personable. Wine list had good choices but was limited by the sommelier. Plenty of parking.

We used to own a small restaurant & Inn in Virginia and held monthly wine dinners for up to 32 guests. We are always disappointed when we attend wine dinners as a result. Not this time. Group table seating is the best way to meet new people and share wine & food stories with like minded individuals. Holding the seating all at the same time enables the guest speaker to communicate about the wines and the Chef to speak on the food. The menu for the Ferrari Carano dinner was excellent, but the actual cooking and presentation was brilliant Chef Troy. Servers that were on top of clearing plates and glasses and bringing new cutlery while filling water glasses was all exceptional. Holding a raffle will add excitement and goodies to later remember at home. Placing the empty bottles of wine on each table so we could read the labels and take photographs is a good thing if you chose not to pour the wines at the table. Loved the pinkness and tastes of the beef wellington chef & the other creative courses. Well done F&B team we hope to come to many more such events

Decided to go here after reading the other reviews from OpenTable. We decided to do a trip up to Freeport for the first time and this was one of the recommended hotspots. This definitely did not disappoint and the overall experience was great. The restaurants is part of the larger historical hotel and it has a charm and class to it that was appealing to us. The apps that we order turned out well and the service was appreciated. For example, we asked for two glasses of wine that the waitress let us taste quickly before pouring out the glasses. My wife actually did not like the taste and the waitress did not hesitate to allow us to choose another wine without any embarrassment. That was very much appreciated and in the end the whole evening was great. The next time we head back up to Freeport, this will definitely be one of our spots to go back to.

In addition to lobster there are an interesting variety of salads, cheeses, fresh fruit and breads. There also breakfast foods, pasta and hot vegetable dishes. There is also a carving stand where delicious prime rib is served. If you have room there is a tempting assortment assortment of desserts including a made to order crepes station. The hotel and the dining room are very attractive and service is very friendly and efficient. There is a full liquor service available. We had been to the restaurant the last time we were in Freeport but didn't remember the name. So we reserved through Open Table thinking it was somewhere new. Good dinner, romantic surroundings, lovely inn.

Great food, atmosphere, and service. If you like being pampered, this is the place! Great variety on the menu. The quality and preparation of the food is as good as one can hope for. The Lobster Stew is insanely delicious (and rich). Just do it!

We just had yet another wonderful meal in the Broad Arrow Tavern here today (5 January) but while their lunches are always super (go with the buffet as it's fresh, well-kept and has some fantastic soups as well as entrees) what I wanted to comment...

I choose the Harraseeket Inn for my birthday lunch with my husband. We visited right after New Year. There was a 30 min wait, which really turned into 40 mins. We both ordered the buffet, but wished one of us had ordered off the menu,...

We ate here New Year's Eve and though the Dining room was busy we had an outstanding dinner. The service was great, the food selection and preparation was more than adequate. If in Freeport make a point of eating at the Maine Dining Room.

If you are in Freeport shopping I would recommend you drive to Portland for dinner but if the weather is bad or you are tired I would recommend the tavern at the hotel. The dining room has a nice atmosphere but the food although nicely presented on the menu, simply fails to live up to expectations. The Lobster crepes are so awash in sauce and mushrooms that you really can't taste whether there is lobster or not. The duck was a good choice but again very simply done and the accompanying rice was awash in butter. We also had breakfast which was even more disappointing. Again, the tavern is a better dining choice if ou are at the hotel.

When you eat dinner here, you never forget you are in New England. Wonderful service, good food, quiet and pleasant surroundings. A wonderful escape from the crowds and noise in other eateries.
