Their IG started to pop up on my IG when I was looking for places to eat during our HI vacation. We stopped by when we went to the North Shore & I regret only getting one loaf (their original banana bread). Their banana bread was so moist and ono 🤤. It was the perfect beach/swim snack, especially for my toddler. Can't wait to return back to the islands and get more. In the meantime, they ship to the mainland & I will definitely be ordering the mochi banana bread as well.

Makua Banana Bread was absolutely amazing just like Emory! Such good food and even better service! 10/10 recommend if you are in the North Shore area.

I first saw and ad for banana bread on social media about a year ago. Being originally from Hawaii I was craving the island style banana bread. I ordered a bundle. It did not disappoint. Loved the flavor, the moist and fluffy texture, and fell in love with it. Since then, I have placed several orders. We went home to Oahu to visit family a few weeks ago and purposely made the stop to their Haleiwa location and bought another bundle. Needless to say, the entire bundle was devoured in record time. My family absolutely love it……..Even after buying a bundle just a few weeks ago, I placed and already received another 3 bread bundle and cookies. Needless to say, I am and will continue to be a returning customer. Also, the wonderful customer service experience with Nathan and his staff are exceptional. I highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed…..

I was told about this place by a friend and thought "it's just banana bread" but OMG. This wasn't JUST banana bread. The loaves are so fresh and taste like they are made with high quality Ingredients. The lady who sold them to me was so kind and helpful. I also highly recommend the chocolate chip cookies (comparable to the amazing banana bread) I also placed an online order because I didn't realize how much I'd love it so I wanted more and they were so helpful and accommodating to ensure I got my order before I flew out. Highly recommend this place!!! Do not leave north shore without trying it. And get extra. You will need it!!!!

During our 11-day trip to Hawaii last February, we indulged in 6 loaves of delectable banana bread and chocolate chip banana bread, which became our favorite snacks while on the road exploring the island. We enjoy supporting local businesses, so we were disappointed when the international market transformed into high-end stores. Upon returning home in mid-March, craving the island's banana bread, I promptly ordered two loaves. Despite a mishap where the UPS driver left the package in front of our eager dog, resulting in the bread's demise, Makua's exceptional customer service surprised us with two additional loaves, free of charge. Despite our malamute's preemptive enjoyment of their bread, we'll undoubtedly reorder once our current stock runs out, appreciating Makua's quality and service.

We were traveling to Hawaii for our honeymoon when we came across Makua! I knew I had to try it, and we were so grateful that we did! The worker was so incredibly sweet and helpful, the shop was absolutely adorable, and the banana bread was SO delicious. It was one of your favorite treats from our entire trip!! Can’t wait to make it back one day❤️

A must stop if you're on the North Shore! We weren't sure what kind of shop we were looking for, so we passed it up and missed the parking across the street, but there are a few parking spots right around the corner with a path that leads to the shop. We purchased the chocolate chip and mochi loaves. They were both really delicious; the mochi was super moist. If we were to go back, I would definitely get the mochi loaf again. I may have to check out their shipping options.

I love everything banana & when I saw an ad for Makua banana bread, I had to try it. At first, I was a bit concerned if it was going to taste as good shipped to me. They wrapped it really well. My order was for the original & chocolate chip banana bread. They taste absolutely delicious..moist, full of banana flavor with a hint of cinnamon. If I had to choose, I would go for the original but I am not mad at the chocolate either. A slice of the Makua banana bread & a cup of coffee in the morning is my definition of bliss!

Truly heavenly. We were driving through Haleiwa and saw this banana bread stand and had to stop. We got a mochi and chocolate chip banana bread and truly it’s the best banana bread I’ve ever ever had in my life. The mochi one is UNREAL! We devoured it in no time. I am from the mainland and brought some home with me to enjoy but wish I bought more! Luckily I found out they do ship and I will be getting more when I run out. The service was top notch. They were so friendly and even gave us some freebies. WORTH A STOP!

We LOVE this place and stop by every time we are on the north shore. Their mochi banana bread is delicious and they even have a little wooden knife and napkins ready so you can dig right in! Their loaves make great gifts too. We are always met with a smile and they even have a public restroom, which is a nice bonus!

My husband and I happened to walk by this stand and the employee (maybe owner) of the day was telling us about the products and it sounded amazing. She told us how the mochi banana bread has mochi baked in (so there is no little mochi bits BUT it maintains the moisture in the best way). We bought that one and the original. The packaging is SUPER cute AND functional where it has bend ties at the end of the cute brown paper bag so you can preserve the banana bread if you don’t finish it all. The original tastes good but not as good as the mochi banana bread. I have never had banana bread that retained moisture like that (and we ate some/finished it the next day and it still was just as moist). I highly recommend this place!! Also, I personally am not a fan of banana bread with nuts in it so I extra loved this place!! :0) Parking could be found in their tiny parking lot to the side or on the street.

RUN, DON’T WALK to this delicious, little banana bread stand!! I was very pleasantly helped by Denise who recommended the chocolate chip banana bread. The price seems admittedly steep for banana bread but it’s worth every cent! The moistness and flavour is the best I’ve ever had (sorry Grandma lol). As others have mentioned, the presentation is also very pretty. I’ll definitely be coming back. Tip: Try warming it up for a minute and slather your favorite butter on top for a real treat with some tea or milk.

First time to Hawaii... we had heard that the banana bread was something we had to try. Stumbled upon Makua Banana Bread Co when stopping for shave ice. The girls were super friendly and we bought 3 loaves of different breads. They are a little moist when you unwrap them, but so flavorful and yummy!!! Definitely recommend that you try them! PS... the cookies are amazing too!!!

Wow!!!! My wife and I split a banana bread with chocolate chips. The bread was so moist and delicious. We nearly ate the whole loaf in a sitting. If you are on north shore you will want to stop in and get some of this gold.

Amazing customer service! I called ahead to see if they had anymore Mochi Banana Bread available. They told me they’re bringing in a fresh batch and to come at a time that the batch will arrive. Communication was also another great plus. Texted me and provided me with information. Will recommend to anyone looking for Mochi Banana Bread and a place where they communicate with customers well!
