Awesome little coffee joint around the corner from SRQ airport

We went in and picked up some breakfast items and the we delicious.

Found this small bakery while visiting Sarasota. The bakery has tasty pastry at reasonable prices, along with great service. The seating area is fairly small so there may not be a table, but the food is awesome.

It was not quite a 5-star experience for me on the first try, but I am looking forward to going back and trying more items off the menu. We tried a few different pastries (sweet and savory) but I'm not sure that they were made fresh that morning. I lived in Germany for many years and was looking for something to take me back down memory lane but maybe my expectations were a bit too high. Nonetheless, KUDOS to Mama G for having so many locations - she's clearly doing something right.

Light and flaky breakfast pastries that melt in your mouth! Full bakery. Fresh ingredients. Welcoming environment. I'm only in town for 3 days but I will be stopping again before we leave!

BEST baked goods, sourdough is affordable and so good! There is inside and outside seating. Family owned and they treat you like you are family too! German day is my fav - soup is delicious! The pizza on Mondays/Tuesdays is HUGE and tasty! Parking is easy!

Stopped at Mama G’s on our travels through Bradenton because I wanted some good German pastries. Tried a few different things and took some home as well. The brownies we took home looked delicious however when we opened them they were molded. Other than that everything was delicious they say everything is made same day, but I suppose the brownies weren’t. Would def go back just double check what you’re purchasing.

Loved loved loved this wonderful German bakery. When you walk in the smell of fresh baked bread welcomes you to this charming place. The quality of the baked goods is as good as any patisserie. I had the egg frittata and spinach ricotta pastry. The coffee was amazing. Deco seek out this fabulous establishment in Sarasota. While it’s a bit off the beaten path it’s convenient to the airport and the ringling brothers museum. You’ll be happy you stopped in.

Stopped here on a whim with my family while on vacation. The food and pastries were outstanding. Truly a hidden gem in Sarasota. It was really a highlight of the visit. Great hospitality and terrific food.

Quiet little privately owned bakery. My wife and I had an apple streusel and blackberry-cream cheese Danish. They were incredibly tasty and flaky.

This must be the best secret in Sarasota. A tiny cafe filled with flakey, wholesome, premium pastries, breads, cakes and tarts (which came with fresh large fruit toppings) They have Bagels, cookies and German lunches as well. I really went there for a hot brewed coffee which was somewhat mediocre ( hence my 4 star rating). But telling by how busy they were, many ppl were there for their appetizing lunch and pastries.

Favorite place for breakfast. And pastries, pies, strudel, pretzels, cookies. Excellent cafe latte. Friendly welcoming atmosphere.

You can’t go wrong with all of these baked goods — so delicious! And the team is so kind too. Mama G is the best. We had apple pie, apple streudal, bacon and egg croissant, sausage and cheese croissant, egg frittata, a cappuccino with cinnamon, and a pistachio white chocolate mocha. Yum!!! Everything was fantastic!

I can’t imagine how anyone could give this bakery less than 5 stars. It’s amazing. The food is so delicious, you’ll have a hard time picking out what you want because it all looks so good. Take my advice and order two or three things and just take some home with you. It’s inexpensive, so it’s super easy to order a lot! I definitely will be coming back here!

Just bought several loaf's of German bread, I asked to please slice it thin number 8, twice I said it, but the unfriendly young girl sliced it thick anyway, no apology just didn't care!!! Besides the little loaf is now over $5 not going back there again.

Family owned home baked and wonderful. A lady with a genuine German accent brought my egg pastry to my table. Close to the Sarasota airport means you can stop to bring some home to your family and friends. They will thank you, trust me on this.

It is one of those experiences where you walk in and think "o Lord what have I gotten myself into"! I got to meet mama G today as well who treated me kindly and had a wonderful accent! The food was delicious. Loved the sausage and egg croissant. We bought some bread and bagels to go. Great experience. We’ll be back when in the area. It’s a great place to catch breakfast after landing at SRQ when you are weary from travel.

This place is antisemetic. I can’t believe they are selling danishes in the shape of swastikas. Absolutely outrageous. I love German people, and German bakeries, but do not care for Nazism. I guess they are entitled to their free speech, so long as they are not promoting any woke ideology… what is wrong with this state.

Mama G's is an absolute gem. Everything is delicious and expertly crafted with fresh ingredients. Rather than saying, "they have the best _______, get that" I would suggest getting what sounds good to you because it will be.

Hello everyone!if in town, stop by Mama G's, great place, great menu. Is cozy, and the service is great. This was my first time visiting the Bakery, and I was happy 😊.

Everything looked fantastic but couldn’t eat it all. However, apple pie is like no other and we had the best cheese strudel ever! And great coffee, perfect iced mocha. No pictures, food was gone before I could grab my phone. I would go WAY out of my way for these baked goods. They also have great looking savory breakfast foods but I refused to be distracted after I saw the cheese strudel.

I can't really put it into words. You just have to go there and see it. Had the chicken empanadas and a Cuban coffee. It was amazing. Amazing doesn't really even cover it.

Went in the morning, around 9:30ish AM with the thought of getting homemade pretzels. There weren't any in the store. I settled for a linzer tart which was awful. There was only enough jelly to fill the hole in the center. The rest was a dry sugar cookie! A big disappointment!

We stop here on the way to Siesta Beach. Great, fresh bread and pleasant people.

I'm not joking when I tell you this is a true hidden gem in Sarasota. They have the best linzer tarts in Florida. The staff and owners are so friendly.

This is the cutest bakery ever. Mama G herself is a sweetheart, and her daughter is the same. I've tried many different treats there, and every one of them is amazing. You will not be disappointed.

Stopped here for dessert after Captain Brian’s. The cold brew was good, the pastries were YUM. Clearly a very community oriented place- Next Door favorite several years in a row. Peoples leaving with smiles and friendly staff. I had the almond one through out the evening and will try the cinnamon one tomorrow. So yummy! Not like the squishy supermarket pastries IYKYK. Worth a calorie splurge or treat!

Such a bright part of our day to pay a quick visit before work or after lunch for a cup of specialty coffee with dessert! Lovely owners that dedicated themselves to creating and sharing this wonderful experience. We all cherish Mama G and company!

The bakery items are wonderfully made Coffee is the best. Open early at 630am near airport. Service is so pleasant.

A nice variety of pastries, nothing spectacular, some probably made in the shop. Panera's pastries, croissants are better and the prices are about the same

Fun local café with a HUGE selection of sweet and savory pastries, lots of coffee options, plus a warm and friendly staff. Everything we ordered and ate was delicious and the prices were reasonable.

A large selection of homemade pastries Danish and otherwise to meet every need. Wonderful place

Prices in the bakery are outrageous, six small rolls, 2 cheese danish and two alleged jelly donuts $16.00. Jelly donuts were not even filled to a quarter of the donut significantly less that a 1/4. Original owners prices were significantly less. I asked the woman who waited on me if it was the same owners. She said it was not but they have the original recipes. Asked what kind of donuts these particular ones were and she told me jelly. Now does this look like a jelly donut? Essentially nothing in it. Won't be going back.

A hidden gem! Tucked in a small strip, next to a car lot close to the airport, but so glad we found it. Mama G was a dynamo, pastries and breads Devine and whole place was charming!

The most delicious experience of my trip! I wanted to buy EVERYTHING within sight, but refrained and decided to take some things to go instead. 😜 The service made me feel like I was at Grandma's kitchen table. The food & hot drinks were EXCELLENT! FRESH! DELICIOUS! Sometimes places like this are great at bakery goods and not so good with beverages, but I got an AMAZING americano and my friend got a fresh chai tea that was GREAT. The place is very clean and calm as well. I'm literally dreaming about the next time I'll be in this side of Florida just to be closer to this amazing establishment. They have gluten-free options, home-made EVERYTHING, and are simply amazing! I absolutely love this place and plan to return again! This is amazing! Five stars easily!

Loved my pretzel roll so much I went back for more 5 minutes later, lol! Seriously, what a hidden gem! My partner got a croissant with sausage and we both got cappuccinos, all so delicious and expertly made. Fresh bread for sale every day too. Highly recommend!!

Mama G’s is the best! Such kind folks with a lovely atmosphere. I love all of the pastries and the coffee is delicious. Favorites include the plum cake and the tomato pesto pastry! They also offer authentic german meals on many days of the week. I have yet to try one, but the meals look and smell delicious!

I've been going here for almost 5 years but just have been going about weekly for the past few months. We are SO LUCKY to have this coffee shop and German bakery in our area. They have really affordable prices, and even have lunch options that rotate through the week. Highly recommend you check our Mama G's!

Absolutely delicious breakfast food and pastries, very friendly atmosphere, excellent service. Clean and well decorated. Feels homely.
