The husband and I love ordering from Marc's Fusion, we are always satisfied with our orders. The Grilled Pork Chops are AWESOME 💯👌🏾.

Visited for the very first time yesterday. I.m so mad I didn't try this place sooner. Atmosphere was great. Food was fantastic, best tempura I.ve ever had. Portions were huge. Amanda was our server, super friendly, very attentive and had spot on recommendations. Can t wait to go back

Service was good and they were able to fit a table of three quickly at 6pm on a Saturday. I was recommended this place by a friend, who happens to be a cook for a bar. We ordered smoked salmon, rainbow, california, and Marc’s Fusion rolls—combining avocado, cilantro, tuna, and cheese maybe. Not bad, but kind of sloppy. My boys said the sushi was “pretty good.” I also ordered the pork chop dinner, medium. It was charred in several spots. Some of it was well and others medium, so a bit inconsistent. The pieces were massive and that did not disappoint. The mango side dish was excellent. But it didn’t have much flavor and was watery. The rice was undercooked. Two small pieces of asparagus. I was asked if I wanted to add onions or mushrooms. I am not a fan of add ons/extra charges so I said no. Apologies if it wasn’t not extra. I ordered a “Tom Tom” ginger cocktail with real ginger, lemon, and gin. It was $7 which isn’t the steepest drink you can get, but it was rather unimpressive. Desert was cheesecake with cherry on top. One of my sons said this was the best thing. It was doused in whip cream, which was probably done for the kids. The place is kind of dumpy on the outside and not in the best strip mall. There’s a Dunkin Donuts beside it and a few Mexican-American businesses and an “Empire Beauty” business next to it. A “cozy” environment inside, however some things are needing to be updated, like some drop ceiling tiles that are clearly ripped and others that are popping out of the frame. Because they are ceiling items and painted black, some people might not notice. Total bill was $97, left 15% tip. I may repeat. But probably not anytime soon.

A small hole in the wall restaurant that I definitely plan on returning to sometimes to satisfy my craving. I'm not much of a seafood eater but I do really enjoy their non-seafood options with their Fajita rolls (beef) and Hannibal (chicken tempura) roll. Portion feels adequately priced as well. The fried rice is also tasty.

I was taken to Marc's Fusion Cafe by friends who told me it was a local gem that I had to try. They did not lie! Just wow. Every item we tried was an absolute winner for freshness, flavor, presentation, and perfection. The Vegas roll was one of the tastiest I've ever had, exploding with an incredible combination of flavors and texture. Crab Rangoon was crispy and crabby with generous portions of crab and the homemade sweet/sour sauce was a perfect compliment. Jim's fusion was an incredible entree, a little bit of everything, yet the distinct flavor of each component was still present. Add a sauce that I couldn't begin to do justice describing (sweet, spicy, salty, tangy, citrus, umami, everything good in the world) and it was just incredible. One of my friends had the filet and she commented that it was likely the best steak to be had in greater Rockford. Portion sizes were large, we all took food home. Prices were better than I'd expect, especially after experiencing the incredible quality. Service was prompt, attentive, friendly, and personal. This is a small venue and your patronage will be appreciated and personally acknowledged by the staff and/or owner. Free parking in adjacent surface lot. Come early for a table, there aren't a lot to be had. They also do takeout, and judging by the steady stream of pickups I saw, they must also be doing that right! It's always great to discover a new favorite. Marc's Fusion Cafe earned that ranking with me tonight.

The sashimi here is the best sashimi around. We also like the Marc fusion roll. Note to self: pass on the shrimp tempora roll next time — it has a spicy mao instead of avacado in it.

My first time there and the food was delicious.

Went to Marc's Fusion as a party of 2. We walked in to a full restaurant, and after standing in the entrance for about 5 minutes, a waitress noticed us and asked for a name. We told her we would take the first available spot (either the bar or the table). We stood in the corner and watched as even more people showed up after us. The waitress recognized them, and immediately went over to greet them. After we waited for around 20 minutes we noticed that seats were opening up, and yet she wasn't coming to us. Then, she decided to seat the people she knew BEFORE us. I'm pretty sure she didn't even ask anyone else for their name either, so her whole name system meant nothing, and we didn't really have a spot in a line. She would rather sit her friends and make people she didn't know wait longer. She even gave the people she knew drinks while we sat there watching. Never even offered us a thing. This is incredibly disappointing since this used to be my favorite restaurant. This waitress has ruined it for me now. I don't know her name, but she was a middle aged blonde. I would avoid having her serve you if you don't know her.

Best sushi I’ve enjoyed in the area. Place was bustling with activity. Reservations are not allowed. Interior updating is greatly needed and would elevate the experience at this restaurant.

Sent my husband in to see if there was a wait because it is cold and we have our child with us. He stood waiting for a while, two people walk in behind him and they are immediately greeted and sat. So he left and now we are going somewhere else to eat. Very rude. I was excited because it seems every time I’ve tried to eat there lately it has been closed and it has been a long time. Maybe I will just not even try next time.

I actually drive down from Madison, Wisconsin to come here. Grew up eating the sushi at this place, and I actually came here first after passing my driving test at 16. Lots of good memories and lots of good food.

Good restaurant. Based on the exterior, i would have entered. Familly owned sushi but only. Great.

We went for sushi. Upon sitting to enjoy our our evening and looking at appetizers menu we were told oh, the crab ragoon are available this evening "almost a forceful push".. Our mind was set on Edmame, we did both. The edamame, seemed as if it sat for days, sprinkled with table salt to wash away the wrinkled disparate cry for help. The saving grace of appetizers were the crab ragoon, Thank you for that push. We ordered the Krome roll. Eel tempura, where? The Krome roll sushi was barely able to fit into ones mouth for a bite, sometimes less is more with what is said on the menu. The Rainbow roll was a roulette of near expired seafood. Nauseating at least, beside the dry rice, you could smell the fish that was not skinned and grey. Also ordered what was called Jimmy's Fusion which we paid 2$ more for fried rice, is what it is. Sweet and spicy garlic rice which was to be fried was not. Nothing but grease white rice and spice mixed with over cooked meat. To say the least we will not be back... the decline in food and service over the years has pushed us to other establishments... Good luck with the grasshopper dessert that was also pushed upon us. Awesome experience start to finish, as always. We brought our 3 year old, and they were so great. Marc made him cheater chopsticks, and the waitress gave him a complimentary ice cream sandwich. Plus, hands down the best sushi, crab rangoon, & fried rice around.

Manhattan-Level Asian Fusion Cuisine Tucked Away on Rockford’s Southwest Side. Let’s cut to the chase: if you’re in Rockford and have a craving for exceptional Asian Fusion, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not visiting Marc’s Fusion Cafe. As someone who dines out in Manhattan at least once a week, I’ve got a pretty discerning palate - so believe me when I say Marc’s Fusion Cafe doesn’t just meet the bar, it vaults right over it. I took a chance on Marc’s Fusion’s signature dish and got floored by the quality of the seared tuna. Ever been shockingly delighted? That’s exactly how I felt as I ate that first piece of tuna. I experienced a similar sense of surprise after trying a California roll. You might expect this caliber of sushi on the coasts, but in the heart of the Midwest? It’s almost culinary heresy - in the best way possible. As the meal progressed and more dishes arrived, one thing became crystal clear: whether it was meat, fish, or crustacean, each cut was near-perfect. I was in a gastronomic paradise and dreading the eventual final bite. But every story has its end, and in this case, it was a raspberry sorbet that served as the perfect exclamation point to an unforgettable dining experience.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. They have some of the best, creative food we’ve had. The service was also great & very personable. We will definitely be back!

I'm surprised this came up as one I haven't reviewed??? Very odd. Marc's is the best around for BOTH steak & chicken, & all things sushi related. Their hot sauce is the best. The owner finally after years of doing it caught me dumping a virtual bowl of that spicy goodness on my meal. I was quite amused by his response as I'm certain he thinks I'm definitely crazy ! :) But for those who know : 'Jim's Fusion hold the shrimp ' (sorry - allergic) Is my favorite !

Sorry. I'm not impressed. We were first in line when they opened. The dining room was about 85 degrees. Tried the signature Marcs Fusion roll, and I'll say it was okay. We tried to order some rangoons, but they ran out. My steak filet was perfect. But for 40 bucks, it should be. The most disappointing part. A sticky glob of rice with a couple of mushrooms and a piece of egg. The asparagus was great. All two of them. Outrageous prices, small portions, unpredictable food. It would take a lot to get me to go back.

Service and ambience were great but food was just not good. Roll tasted like it was premade and chilled in a fridge to the point that rice became crumbly. Fried rice and white rice for entrees was so soggy and steak was under-seasoned. Second pic (Jim’s fusion) looked exactly like that when it was presented to me and I thought someone in the kitchen didn’t feel well and threw up on my plate.

Marc's is consistently the best restaurant in Rockford. The food is well-prepared and innovative, the service excellent, and the casual ambience is the opposite of the industrial food services that dominate the Rockford market. I'd go more often, but it is often slammed in the evening, and I don't wait in line.

We ordered 3 different types of rolls, California, shrimp tempura,and cucumber for my husband. We had shrimp and crab cakes for an appetizer, my husband ordered 22oz ribeye steak that was cooked to perfection, medium, Mard Ti adult libation and was offered raspberry ice-cream for dessert on the house. We had no room fot ice-cream so we politely decided, since we had leftovers to take home.

Wonderful kabobs, fried rice, sushi and for dessert grasshoppers with chocolate mint filled wontons. Great dining experience, excellent service and the Mai Tais are the best.

Absolutely amazing food, great serving size and prices. Each dish was an absolute flavor sensation and delicious. All the workers are incredibly nice and Jim kept checking up on us! My husband and I went here for the first time last night. It was our date night. It was recommended to us by several people. What a neat experience! The place is cozy and quaint. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was awesome, the atmosphere was perfect! This place is a true gem and we will definitely be going back!

Decided I needed to finally try this spot for sushi! Definitely worth the trip & pretty delicious lunch! My Spicy Tuna & Rainbow Rolls were delicious & portion was much larger than most places I’ve been. My hubby had the Chicken Fried Rice which was ‘the best’ !

Very small place, and gives the atmosphere that the food would be superb. I expected a bigger sushi menu. The sushi was ok, and mostly fusion rather than traditional. I got the ribeye. It was cooked fairly well at medium rare. The steak was a little tougher than I prefer. Chicken fried rice and the shrimp fried rice were great. What stood out was the delicious crab rangoon and mai tais. Our service was fantastic. I'd revisit and try a couple other dishes and sushi.

By far the best sushi in Rockford! To top it off the owner is extremely friendly and passionate about his business. 5 stars hands down, we will be back! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try Marc’s Fusion Cafe.

The Vegas rolls are amazing, this place is very underrated

I tried this place because of a recommendation. The sushi rolls are huge and the fried rice is yummmmy.

The crab Rangoon was to die for. My wife had perfectly prepared steak with enough left over for breakfast. I had Jim's Fusion plate. Beef, chicken and shrimp in a superb sauce over fried rice. Enough for 3 people. Will definitely be back.

Wow. So fast. So good. So much food. Rice was kinda blah, the spicy tuna is SPICY. The spider roll was 💯 as was the Hannibal and crab rangoons.

My friend and I dined in tonight 08/06 for the first time. We came right at opening time since we had heard it was small and filled up quickly. This is true! I’d say there are around 12? tables. I’m not exactly sure. We were seated right away. We were served our drinks immediately. We ordered 4 different kinds of sushi, chicken fried rice & crab cakes. Our sushi came out so fast which we appreciated! The presentation was so nice that we had to take a picture before we ate! The California rolls were amazing as well as the shrimp tempura. We took three boxes home! My friend said the lemonade tasted better than most restaurants as it was not watered down. My waitress was kind and the people working there all looked clean and presentable. We will probably take out from here soon!

They have excellent fried rice and crab rangoons. We also like their sushi but its a little oversized for our liking. But overall their food is wonderful and we eat here frequently!

Amazing food here! Price is above average, but so worth it! The crab rangoon, chicken fried rice, and beef kabobs were excellent. Their cheesecake sells out quickly, so order it early if you want it. The restaurant is small and cozy, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and there's plenty of parking. This place is well worth the price!

The food was delicious... However, the service was horrible. Our waitress was not very attentive to our table so we sat for long periods without service. We ordered 4 different kinds of Sushi when we sat down only to be told almost 20 minutes later that they lost our order. No concessions, no discount, only a sad apology and our food basically served in a take out bag. Fortunately we were seated with another couple who got their food in a timely basis so we ate some of their food. To say the least, we were disappointed with our time here. I just wish they cared more about customer service and making amends for errors on their end.

Heard great reviews, but did not live up to the hype. Ordered several cooked sushi rolls and all were pretty disappointing. Large, loose rolls that fall apart, and way too heavy handed on cream cheese/mayo. Hannibal was bland fried chicken nuggets in a weird roll. Jim's Fusion was dry unseasoned protein with rice in an inedible sauce.

As always, Marc did not disappoint! We were there tonight to celebrate our 34th anniversary and had great sushi, sashimi, and rolls. They were very busy so a little wait on the food but it was well worth it!!!

Great service & Sushi options were very good, but fried rice meals need to be reworked.Taste was too oily and lacked the variety of vegetables found in traditional fried rice. The vegetable fried rice was almost all peppers.

I have ate here many times but this was the first time that I tried the 12 oz filet. I would consider it the best steak that I have ever ate in Rockford!

Absolutely the best meal I’ve had in Rockford.

My GF and I had an afternoon activity in Rockford and she wanted seafood/sushi so Looked this place up. Good to great reviews yet I was concerned when I saw the Facebook page that indicated that this place was having trouble staffing the place (pulling out of the pandemic). We gave it a shot anyway. I'll call the building and location of this place as "hole in the wall" and "nondescript" in the best possible way. Small place - about six tables (each for four) and maybe 12 to 15 barstool spots. Service - the biggest drawback to our visit but this was still minor. The server was friendly but a bit forgetful. She acknowledged her mistakes and corrected quickly. Food - great! We had a couple of different sushi rolls as appetizers and they were excellent and the portions were BIG. My GF had the scallops and I had the beff & vegetable kabobs. Both were delicious and filling. We had real cheesecake for desert! If you're a beer lover like I am do not expect any fancy choice here. Pretty much the basics with a couple of Japanese every-day beers. The bill was a little pricey but we so enjoyed this place.

Inever really doubted it, but we moved away more than 10 years ago and haven't gotten a chance to stop at one of our old favorite places. My favorite roll is the Vegas roll! Still amazing and presented well. Next visit will be for.pork chops and maybe a steak or prime rib. Glad to see things are still going well for you and your restaurant. Always wishing you the best. Still too notch! My favorite roll is the Vegas Roll! Still amazing and presented well. Next visit will be for pork chops and maybe a steak or prime rib. Marc's has this charm only a hole in the wall tiny spot can offer. Its unassuming and lets the food do the talking. Sushi rolls are well assembled, have good flavor, and sashimi is fresh and cut into nice thick pieces. The seaweed salad is recommended. Food is always consistent. The wine pours are the most generous you'll ever find in a restaurant and the mixed drinks choices are great too. I've only had sushi but the steaks look very good and that's what I'm told. Wait staff does a great job also. Waitress brought us a couple free mochi after we were having a hard time deciding between the two choices. Never disappointed. Only knock on Marc's is they don't accept reservations.

There's not a whole lot of "fusion" going on here. I ordered the prime rib medium-rare and got a steak that was burnt on the outside and uncooked in the center. However, if you're looking for great sushi/sashimi then I would definitely recommend!

Sushi is fat and delicious. (The rolls are fat not skinny) they don't skimp. Chicken and shrimp fried rice is the best.

My shrimp fried rice came with only 4 shrimps. My chicken fried rice was not chopped up, whole pieces of chicken. Fajita roll lacked stability and easily broke. Good flavors though.

Really great portion sizes for the price, was pleasantly surprised by how large of an order we got. The food was superb which we expected for the price point but definitely feel like we got more than our money's worth both in serving size and flavor.

I go here every time I come back to Rockford to visit family. Love the sushi and chicken fried rice. Great place.

Literally the best sushi in the area. We’ve been a lot of places and none of them come close this. The chrome and Vegas roll are our go to. We also get assorted sashimi pieces! Dinner for 2 is like 100 bucks but it’s worth every penny. It’s a very small place so get there when they open or expect a wait. Staff is always friendly.

So, business takes me to Rockford for three weeks, and all I see open is fast-food restaurants, and this Covid-19 Lock Down is making me hate fast-food. Ugh...so I start searching the Rockford IL dining options, and over and over see over-the-top ratings for a restaurant named Marc’s Fusion Cafe. I decided to check it out and was pleasantly surprised to find unique menu selections; not the typical run-of-the-mill stuff. So I called and placed a carry-out order. I got 2Maku Rolls, a scallop dinner and the double pork chop dinner. (I got fried rice and asparagus with the dinners.). I knew it was a lot of food, but hotel life is bad enough, and coupled with crazy hours at the Rockford Airport ( 5pm until 5am), My thought was to have more to pack for work meals than a ham and cheese sandwich. So, I ate a bit of everything for my dinner, tonight, and was highly impressed. Being from Chicago, an absolute Foodies Paradise, I tend to be selective and quite discriminating in my food tastes, and it takes a lot to “wow” me. Well, let me tell you....this restaurant and the Chef have a big deal going on, here. I mean it! If you’ve never eaten their food, you really need to give it a try. Every item I ordered was prepared impeccably-well! I was truly overjoyed to have discovered this hidden gem. But don’t take my word for it. You go and try it yourself and write a review when you do. If there is a better restaurant in Rockford, I would be surprised, because Marc’s Fusion Cafe seems hard to beat! Can’t wait to be able to actually dine-in there, one day. I will definitely be back, even if I make a special road trip to get back! You guys ROCK!
