We ordered three things: 2 vegetarian burritos 1 vegetarian quesadilla 1 persons burrito was mediocre, which was the highlight of our order 1 persons burrito just tasted bad. The seasoning wasn't super there and they weren't a big fan of the vegetable mix inside While the burritos can be chalked up to preference, the "vegetarian" quesadilla was a nightmare. It had chicken, which was a downside. But I've been meaning to try eating meat again so I ate it anyways. Maybe i need more time. The chicken was stringy and underseasoned, and the cheese wasn't melted at all. The Chiles that were supposed to be inside were M.I.A and the side gauc + sour cream was instead just a mountain of sour cream. I'd reccomend going to the Mexican place across the street instead. They always forget the gauc, but at least they don't utilize a chicken lottery.

Couldn’t ask for a better atmosphere. Extremely friendly team and fantastic service. Come here if you want the best hospitality in Orono.

The host was quite rude to us. Went there and requested a table for two people, and we were asked to wait 25 minutes or just sit at the bar to which we agreed. A lot of the tables (3-4 person tables) were vacant and we were not offered one because they are for “bigger parties”. we requested the bartender to seat us in a table and not by the bar. he was sweet and got us a table quickly. The same host returned to our table and told us (almost yelled at us) that we can’t seat ourselves twice even when we insisted that the bartender seated us. She left the table and didn’t even care to apologize. It’s my favorite restaurant in the area but i’m disappointed with the experience. They didn’t have Shrimp/Pork dishes even we were there quite early in the evening.

I grew up eating at Margaritas, and now we go every year in July for our family reunion, as a family tradition as well as for birthdays and anniversaries. We went this past Friday evening, making a reservation for 6:30 pm ahead of time for a party of 8. It was fairly busy, but still had open tables. Unfortunately our experience was terrible this year. All three of our bowls of chips were extremely stale. We asked for new chips, and those did seem better as they were warm and not stale. No big deal. After our server took our food and drink order, though, she never came back to our table until after we were eating our food, and we had to go to the host stand to ask her to come to our table. We had empty waters, empty drinks, and zero napkins. A food runner or manager brought our food, and our server never checked on our food or came back to ask us if we needed anything. She had 3 tables in the room we were in besides us, and she came in and checked on each of the other tables and did not visit ours. Three of us ordered fajitas, and two were cold when we got them. The quality of the food has significantly gone down. Our server forgot to bring out the two children’s drinks. We finished eating and waited so long for our server to come back that our parents had to go find her a second time to give us our check. I understand that restaurants may be busy and understaffed, but a server not returning to a table during a 90 minute period without being sought out is unacceptable. This was a special occasion for us, and we still tipped our server over 20%, but we’re hesitant to come back next year.

my experience at margaritas is always amazing. I’m greeted immediately as i walk through the door and the service is quick and efficient. everyone here is welcoming especially the manager. she is always starting conversations and making sure our food is up to par. i recommend margaritas to all my family and friends!

I’ve been coming for years and have always loved the food! I got the chicken and steak fajitas and would definitely do again. My bartender Ingrid was great and made the best drinks!

Th chicken chimichanga was so delicious i could have 2 of them! The special margaritas that the lovely bartender nigrid made were so good and she had such an amazing attitude. Very professional.

I ordered the Mexican Smashed Burger and it was phenomenal. The service was great, and the the margaritas were yummy. Would come again!

Love this place. have been going there for years. this last time i was a little put off by the salsa and chips. the salsa to be exact, not sure what the recipe for "that" particular salsa was but it didn't taste authentic or very good for that matter. otherwise, helpful, friendly, courteous staff and great food and drinks.

My bartender Katie was an absolute bubbly burst of energy, who got my drinks out faster than I’ve ever seen any of my drinks come out at margaritas. And they tasted absolutely AMAZIIIINNNGGGG!!!! She’s deserves a raise.

This is the second Margaritas location I have visited in the past 3 weeks. Food experirience at both locations wasn't very good. Their salsa tastes like salt and vinegar with a hint of cleaning detergent. The Qeuso dip was also very salty, could not taste anything else in the dip, just salt. My wife asked the waitress if they had "Dos Equis" i.e. Dos XX Beer. The response was, "What's that? I don't think so." The drink menu showed "Draft beers on tap", this location doesn't have draft beer. When the beer came, in bottles, I asked for glasses. The waitress took about 10 minutes to bring one glass (instead of 4 for the table.) Had to ask for 3 more glasses. Chicken Chimichanga was ok but burned on one side. I think I'll be supporting other New England Mexican restaurants going forward.

Margaritas is a UMaine college town classic. I love to go for their Trivia nights, get a flight with my friends, and share the chicken nachos, which are huge and incredible! For my gluten-free friends, be sure to ask for their gluten free tortilla chips. I always feel welcome by the staff, and recently met the manager who is super sweet and loved to talk about her time at UMaine, but it is clear Margs is her passion at the moment. Their seasonal margs are usually pretty good, but I always recommend getting a flight to try different flavors.

Awesome vibes and great wait staff. Great deals and trivia are just the icing on the cake. The menu is full of great food and I haven’t been disappointed yet. I don’t come too often, but when I do it’s always a great time. Their drink menu is full of a lot of great margaritas that you should definitely try when you get the chance. Great music too wh I makes for a nice ambiance. A pretty reliable place for a good time with friends. I heard they’re opening the downstairs bar soon too. From the 7 strangers stuck in a blizzard. I love this restaurant. It's one of my favorites. The food has been uniform no matter which one I go to. Their margaritas are amazing. I have never had a bad experience in all the years I've gone.

OK, so it was a quiet night at Margaritas. We were sat right away, and we were given chips and salsa and we both ordered Sam Adam's drafts. Mine came with a 4 inch head, so basically I got a 2/3 full beer. I ordered the steak chimichanga with the Pico salsa on the side. My girl ordered the the regular chicken chimichanga. As you can see from the photos my salsa was NOT on the side but right on top of it. I don't do a lot of bad reviews usually, but this place was not great. Service was mediocre at best. We ordered the churos and ice cream for dessert. The churos were way overdone and hard. Food tasted ok, but nothing else about this place was. We asked our waitress for the bill and it it was like 15 or 20 miutes before she came back with it then another 20 minutes until she came to take our card overall wouldn't recommend Margaritas at all

The girl at the front was awesome but, I'm sorry this is not good mexican food. I am from Texas and I know mexican food. I usually make my own but, we decided to try the food here. We got the nachos and they were not done the way they were described. They didnt put queso on them and the chicken was shredded. The chicken was not seasoned. We ordered queso for just in case and the cheese dip was off. We couldn't finish our food cause it was just not done the way we know it. I'm sure this is a great place for the college kids and for people who like to have drinks.

Very very good food, reasonable prices. Husband had the chicken skillet dish and I had the loaded skillet nachos.

We went in before a UMAINE football game. The waiter recognized that we were headed to the game and made sure the kitchen got our food out quickly. He was very attentive to our needs. The food was good and the prices were reasonable.

The food was fair. Not amazing. The portions are HUGE. They could definitely reduce the portion sizes and reduce waste. And, maybe this is just picky, but the tall chairs made my legs go to sleep, so it was hard to get comfortable.

We went in when they opened at 4 pm for an early dinner, so we were the first ones there. The salsa had just a little kick, which is something we like. We did a margarita flight, they were all good but the blueberry lavender really stood out. The food was very good all around, and the refried beans and rice stood out having more flavor than in most places we have been. Fried ice cream was also a nice treat.

Very changed over the last few years since I was here last. Many of my favorite food items are gone and the menu is smaller. Now just another Tex-Mex joint catering to the nearby college crowd featuring cheap beer and well drinks.

Amazing margaritas lol. But also HUGE portions. We ate and loved everything. Tacos del mar stole the show. Enchiladas and burrito portions are good for 3 at least.

Worst service I’ve ever received in the Bangor area. The downstairs area was all college kids, while upstairs is where they sat the families/people there to eat and not just drink. We had to wait 45 mins for a table while the college aged servers let all their friends in right away “this one time”…once seated we had to continue to flag down a server as we waited almost 30 mins for some one to take our order and all the upstairs tables were complaining about no one coming around. I would understand if this was because of staffing, but At any given time there were 2-3 servers in the corner texting and chatting (who were not on break, just standing to the side). Drinks were weak food was old and dried out.

Paid $60 for three burritos, we only got two of them and one of them is half the size of the other, AND they forgot to give us our 3rd burrito. The two burritos in the photo are the same burrito by the way Definitely avoid this place for takeout.

The restaurant is showing its wear, needing a bit of a face lift. Food was mediocre, not bad, but far from great.

I usually don't leave reviews but people be aware I would give this place no stars if I could. By far one of the worst places I have ever eaten at. Definitely not worth the price. Not to mention the server bringing us our plate that was boiling hot what just seemed that the whole plate of food was placed in the microwave. The food is not authentic if you are looking for a good place do not go here. Unprofessional and tasteless. I would rather go anywhere else. It is TRASH. Wanted to get up mid meal because it was horrible food and I was worried about getting sick after the chunky meat was half cold. Whoever cooked the plate needs to be fired or used a thermometer to know how to properly cook.

This is by far and above the worst meal I've had in recent memory. I'll give some criteria for that statement as I'd rather not get a comment asking for clarification; my food came out first with chicken and sour cream on it (I'm unfortunately a vegan since a tick bite forced me) then after "remaking" my food I get a plate of rice that was at the very least a day old and soggy, I got 3 enchiladas on the new plate which were supposed to be filled with vegetables, instead almost comically I got one stuffed with the Pico, one with guacamole and one shoddy amalgamation of beans. They were also Lukewarm as if they had just been thrown together and sauced. Even my water glass smelled like a dirty dish rag. Super unfortunate as it's right near my house and I was looking for a good Mexican place. I ordered Chinese food at my table and left. All in all a huge waste of money

The service was good and the food was decent.

Good dinner, very good food for a decent price. And I say decent because we spent too much on food that was double the plate. My sister got a cheeseburger with fries and ketchup (weird especially considering its a Mexican place) and I got a taco (plus another one, a soft) and I got TWO plates with one hard, one soft and two sides of rice (probably a mistake by the person making our food, deducted a star). Anyway, good food. Will come back again.

We stopped last Saturday for a quick lunch. We ordered a taco salad bowl and the mini chicken chimichangas. Both were delicious! Our server was very friendly and the food was hot!

The food isn’t authentic by any means, but we live in Maine and this is Orono. It’s Tex mex, it’s good, foods always hot, services is good, their promo nights are great if your on a budget. I would sell my soul for fried ice cream

This restaurant will not disappoint! If you're a margarita lover and enjoy Spanish food, I highly highly recommend this place! The food is absolutely delicious! Mouth watering good! And the margaritas are delicious!!!! Our server, Paula, was a dear and staff is very friendly. If you're in Orono, I strongly recommend this place if you desire a great vibe!! 15/10, delicious, it's the best. Will come here every time I visit Orono for the University of Maine.

Yummy food, laid back atmosphere. The margarita's are good - prickly pear and classic are great! Our waiter was nice and accommodating.

Always have an eye out for a Mexican restaurant so it was great to see one here. Stopped in here a couple of times. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed the staff are very friendly. The food and service were good both times. Recommend the Enchiladas Muchachas. Will good back again when I'm in the area.

Great place with a central location and a cheerful vibe. The service is quite pleasant. I recommend it for the drinks, but the food is ordinary compared to Mexican places in Bangor and other parts.

Margaritas is such a fun place! The moment you turn down their street, you see some really cute little store fronts and then you can easily find Margaritas when you see their neon sign. We were seated fairly quickly although sometimes there is a wait. The food was delicious and the service was really great. There is also an area on another floor (I believe downstairs) where you could host a larger gathering. This will definitely be a place that I come back to again and again.

There was a mix up with reservations. We had called a month ahead to set up a graduation party and when we arrived there was not a record of our reservation. They were extremely accommodating and made room for us. The waitress was super cheerful and attentive. Overall they made the best of the situation and helped however they could to make it work.

Food was good . First time there would recommend. Price was a little high.

If you're already in Bangor, go to Las Palapas. I've tried this place three times now ordering three different things and every time I find myself wishing it was Las Palapas' version. I mean its good food, you won't be disappointed disappointed but you have had better.

Parking is really difficult if you go at night especially towards the end of the week however the food was delicious. Service was a bit slow but the college student we had as our waitress was so sweet and apologetic it made easy to oversee.

Had my first experience at Margaritas this evening! We brought a group of friends for a birthday get together, and our waitress, Frances, was more than accommodating to our group. So friendly. I am more than pleased with the service we received.

The food is slightly above average, but notthing special. It has been in business for decades and is a local legend.... so that says something. The pomegranate Margaritas are amazing!

This place has been here forever and there is a reason it is still around. The food is great, the people working here I admire (for having to walk up and down stairs all day with food) and the atmosphere is laid back. Love margaritas for sure. Plus its affordable for what you get.

The menu has something for everyone. I had the grilled shrimp tacos on romaine lettuce and they were top notch. Delicate coconut sauce with juicy shrimp & a blue hawaiirita were perfect. No picture because I ate it too quickly!
