Always Great Food and Great Service!

I loved this little Restaurant! The server was friendly, the food delicious and I love the dim lights. Only suggestion that I have is invest in professional menus that reflect the quality, that this Restaurant clearly has.

Everyone was soooo nice! Ate in the restaurant but my picture shows my to go food. Food is delicious!! My friend had the scallops & shrimp Alfredo and said it was the best she’s ever had! I had a spinach/ tomatoes, chicken and bow tie noodles! Very good. Ask for both type of bread… you won’t regret it!

The service was old-school perfect. The ambiance is terribly dated and gross. The food was horrible. We didn’t finish our meals and we didn’t complain or ask for anything. The salad was embarrassing and the Italian dressing was mainly oil. My veal Marsala was drenched in butter and was too tough to cut. My side of spaghetti tasted like ketchup. My wife’s meal was equally disgusting. The building looks like it should be condemned inside and out. Everything is dirty. We never complain and we never write bad reviews until now. We drove 14 miles to go there and passed several other Italian restaurants just to try Marios. This landmark restaurant is resting on its laurels and has lost its way. Once their older clientele die off, they won’t attract a new crowd and will close. So sad.

We started with garlic bread and stuffed mushrooms. The gallic bread was tasteless and greasy, The stuffed mushrooms with shrimp and breadcrumb stuffing was just adequate. I had the chicken francaise it was bland! and served with 1 sprig of asparagus the thickness of a pieced of spaghetti. My husband had spaghetti and clams in red sauce. Usually its in a tasty marinara sauce this was in was thick regular red sauce with clams in it. The total bill with 1 Ultra light Michelob was $90.00 My review is to go to Olive Garden which is better than this "Italian Restaurant"

Service was excellent, food is very delicious and ambiance is very nice. Next time we visit Daytona beach, we are definitely coming back to Mario's. You should definitely give this restaurant a try.

Daytona 2024: This is a hard 4. I heard nothing but praise about this place but I wasn't "wowed" in any way. I think my experience at Olive Garden is just as satisfying. I was extremely annoyed when I found out the pasta is NOT fresh made in house. I think this place is okay, and is on cruise control based on it's reputation. The Italian part of me practically forgot I ate here. I wanted to have my socks blown off- with fresh pasta and ingredients! but it was just another lunch. I can't say that I disliked anything.

My husband picked up an All The Way pizza on July 6th. We can not remember when we last had a pizza this good. Very exceptional! From what my husband said the staff were all very friendly. We are looking forward to dining in next time.

While visiting Daytona Beach, this restaurant was highly recommended to us. My meal (veal parm) was adequate, my husband’s meal (veal chop) was so salty it was inedible. This from a man who has never complained about a meal in 25 years….. The management was terrific and adjusted our bill. This is average Italian food. I’ve had much, much better and absolutely far worse.

The guest pictures do not do this place justice, the food is absolutely amazing. Kellys made my girlfriend’s 21st birthday special! Great food and great service!! 10/10

We read a lot of negative reviews about Mario's and almost did not go. But now we are wondering if they were writing about the same Mario's in Ormond Beach on US1? This is our first-time visiting Mario's, and we are glad we went. The food is GREAT! Lasagna and garlic bread, even the simple spaghetti and meatball meal was Great, also the food was served hot. All the meals had a modest salad that was fresh and delicious. The tiramisu was rated as excellent by my wife, and if she says it was excellent she means it and she will order it the next time we return. We were fortunate to have Justin as our server, he looked out for us and timed everything exactly right. The prices were moderate but, in this day and age, we thought the prices were in the right range for us. The three of us with wine, meals, and dessert without tip was about $90 + tax. We will be back soon; my wife and I will be having some date nights here. We also went earlier than usual for us, and it was a clever idea. We arrived around 5:20 pm and had no wait. We took our time and enjoyed the ambiance and food. When we were leaving over an hour later there was a 30-minute wait for tables. But to wait 30 minutes for Mario's it's worth it. They offer a half size early bird menu that is offered until 6 pm, my wife and son enjoyed those, and I selected the larger serving. I brough home more than half. We can only recommend that you visit Mario's and have a wonderful evening meal and then write an honest review for others to read.

Great bartender, we had our dinner at bar. From the delicious warm garlicky bread to roasted peppers appetizer to Manicotti. It was all amazing

I finally made to Mario's. I had the veal chop/waiter suggested med/I would do med rare (little over done for me), but very very good. My sweetie ordered the lasagna with a meatball and sausage(meatball was ok, sausage , forget about it, but the lasagna was fabulous. My friends had stuffed shells which they loved. Salad was fresh and crisp. but the garlic bread IS TO DIE FOR. Oh my, we went thru 2. I did ask a few questions which I never got the answers for, but oh well- Can't wait to return

Authentic Italian all the way. Fresh baked breads, seafood, thick ribeyes, and wonderful pastas with homemade sauces and great choices on Wine list or full bar. Great specials daily to choose from. Super service and great atmosphere. My favorite fresh Grouper Francese.

Wonderful. Everything was exceptional! Mario's always makes us feel like family. The bar is usually full but Gina made room for us . Today is our anniversary so I wanted to take my wife Lyn somewhere that would not disappoint. Frank and Justin were the bartenders. We had baked cheese ravioli with the best Meatballs in town. Salad, garlic bread, Pino noir... Thanks again to Tommy and the entire Mario's team for another great experience.

Very old decor food was horrible. I had Calamari which was way overdone.The scungilli was just as bad I had very bad stomach pains and got sick afterwards the complementary bread was hard as a rock when they threw some kind of garlic seasoning on it. The cook was on his break playing his extremely loud bass in the parking lot, which shook the entire restaurant. I thought there was an earthquake outside if I wasn’t in Florida I would’ve thought that’s what it was, I asked the waitress what was that horrible noise and she told me it was the cook on his break. You couldn’t hear yourself talk it ruined the ambience of the evening. Another couple across from me overheard me asked the waitress what that noise was and they agreed to and said that the place sucked , so did the cook Extremely disappointed I am Italian and this is nowhere near authentic. It tasted like everything came out of a jar or a can especially after getting sick from eating there. Beware do not attempt this place. I don’t care who tells you how good it is. It is not true.and for the price you’re better off going to a five star restaurant

Absolutely amazing. Have dined for casual and for a special occasion. For the quality of food and portion the price isn’t bad at all. Would definitely recommend. I highly recommend the garlic cheese bread and the lasagna, the lasagna is a very large portion so be prepared.

Been coming here for years. Always loved it. Been away for awhile and looked forward to eating here again. Not Happy, . Veal franchaise was tough and chewy and a dark color. Certainly not worth $35. The point of eating veal is that its a tender meat. Husbands veal parm was thick and white and looked like chicken. we will go elswhere

Second time there both times were great, I was so amazed Gina remembered us. We felt welcomed.

Cannot comment on the atmosphere because we did take out. The spaghetti and meatballs, ziti with meatballs and the mussels were all delicious and they were hardy portions. The meals included a small salad and French bread. The order was packed up and easy to tote to the car. The only downside was they forgot my portion of Italian salad dressing, but things happen - certainly did not impact the delicious food.

Our waiter was great! Also, I left my credit card behind and they held it safely until I returned the next day to collect it.

We eat in and carry out from here often. They have family meals on the carry out menu and they are delicious and very generous portions. Eating in is such a pleasant experience, the atmosphere, service and food is top notch!

Mario's never disappoints. I have had many family occasions from baby christening reception, wedding Reception And probably every birthday in the family were always at Mario's. It's a great place to eat.

Nothing to be happy about nasty food

This was an excellent dining experience. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and made to feel at home. Chris, our server was awesome. He was very friendly and very professional. He knew the menu and was really helpful.

Great Italian restaurant. Great antipasta that is big enough to share. Scungili in marinara sauce was so good. Can’t wait to back and try some more things on the menu. Everything sounded so good. Spaghetti and meatball comes with a nice fresh salad and warm bread included too. Our waitress, Kelly, was so sweet and very efficient.

Mario's is a standard for our family. Can always count on good, fresh food. We tried the garlic bread for the first time and it was incredible. We'll be getting that again. One of our entrees, however, baked ziti was burned. Burned to the point that more than half was inedible. We mentioned it to our server and her response was "wow, it sure is" But we'll still be back. The Chicken Misto is my favorite

Like sweet Neil Diamond says, so good , so good , so good. Marios is the best Italian around hands down. I love there pizza but be ready to wait and not be in a hurry. Worth the wait. Garlic bread 🍞 is the bomb there so good ams its included. So good. So good. Awesome lasagna and they just updated their two bars. Get some wine and relax with best Italian around . 😋

i think about this place often. truly one of the most disgusting restaurants i’ve ever been too, it stunk, the food was HORRIBLE, i’ve genuinely never had such bland disgusting food in my life.

Food and atmosphere is always great!

I've been to Mario's at least six times and 3 of those times most recently have been mediocre if not just bad. it is a dive bar experience with high end price. I will elaborate on my last experience on January 28th to paint the picture. you have the choice of sitting at a table or the bar if it's open seating. we chose the bar as we usually do. we were greeted and served a drink right away. offered regular or garlic bread. we chose garlic bc it's delicious. they gave us menus to look over. the game was playing so it was a little louder than usual. it took about 30 minutes before we were asked what we'd like for dinner. I was not quite ready yet. another 30 minutes passed until we got the bartender attention to order. I ordered shrimp scampi. hubby ordered chicken parm. about 15 min later I overheard another customer order the same two things except one without sauce. a while longer passed and I noticed the bartender brought OUR food to the second couple. they had to correct them about the sauce. (read above) 10 min later our food was delivered. my plate was cold. my pasta was cold. hubby food was perfectly fine tho. I cut into a few shrimp just to check them and returned to our bartender. they came back a few min later with a hot plate. too hot to touch. and the same cut up shrimp ontop. obviously microwaved. In between all of this there are back of house staff coming out front in their "street clothes" with kitchen rags draped over their shoulders (no uniform) to check the game scores. I did not eat any of my pasta. we tipped our server/bartender well. but it's not worth the price. $22 for microwaved pasta and scampi? no thanks.

Awesome Excellent and Gina is the Best!

Meal was oh so good! Portions were generous and everything was delicious. From the fresh hot bread, to the salad, to the entrees…fantastic! Our only issue was our server’s attitude. Maybe she was having an off day, but no excuse for rude!

Was in Daytona Beach driving through and had to get off road due to closure from an auto accident. Seen Mario’s so my wife flipped a U-turn since it was dinner time and we decided to have dinner there until first responders cleared the intersection. Was a pleasant surprise in terms of food, atmosphere and prices.

My wife and I grew up within an hour's drive of NYC's Little Italy. My dad had a small business within a walk of this renowned area in NYC. Needless to say, we have eaten at some very good Italian restaurants over the years. We retired to the Ormond Beach area fifteen years ago, and discovered Mario's early on. Please believe this reviewer, when I say that Mario's food, and we've sampled, basically, the entire menu, would have filled tables, if located in Little Italy.

We enjoyed a good midweek dinner at this hidden gem. Traditional authentic Italian fare with generous portions and plenty of garlic bread!

This was our first visit. We were visiting the area and decided to try Mario's. The food is fantastic. We all left full and enjoyed everything. We will be visiting again the next time we are in town.

The service was wonderful. Our server, Patrick, was attentive to our needs.

No complaints about the food. Delicious. I frequented this restaurant and enjoyed the atmosphere. But, a week later I had to resolve an issue with the bill, but an adjustment was made on my next visit. Ok no problem, thanks!!

Food was really good. Nice, quiet little place. As someone who has managed restaurants, big compliments to all the service staff. Seems to be a lot of great teamwork happening, every time someone (not always our server) walked past our table they either filled water or cleared plates. Great job, everyone! As a lifelong New Yorker and Italian-American I was skeptical of an Italian restaurant in a beach town in FL. Our neighbors suggested this as a location for a friends night out dinner. I’m open to anything. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. This reminds me of a classic old-school NY Italian American red sauce type of joint. Cocktails were quickly delivered and well mixed. Calamari were a little over cooked, but tasted good, and the marinara suffered none of the mistakes that some fake Italian restaurants make. The sauce was really good! I always measure an Italian restaurant by the quality of its red sauce. Side salads were ok. A little too much iceberg, but you don’t come to a restaurant like this for the side salad. All of our pasta dishes were enjoyable. The chicken parm was solid and my mushroom ravioli were full of all the right flavors. Service was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. I don’t eat out much since I cook Italian at home, but I definitely will return here for special occasions. I’d like to try out more of the menu selections.

Ordered calamari and lasagna. Calamari was so rubbery couldn't eat it. Garlic bread was hard. Lasagna was cold and tasteless. watched quite a few dinners being returned because they were cold also. Bill was adjusted but we will never go back.

First time there. We were celebrating a birthday dinner. I ordered the fish special and asked for no squid. It came back with a lot of squid. Garlic bread was good and service was excellent.

I love Mario's. My favorite Italian place to go to around here. I got take out the other day and the man who took my order was awesome.

Came here with friends for a special occasion. First time for us. We didn't know what to expect from an Italian restaurant. We were seated quickly, and the place was packed. We knew that from the parking lot. We almost couldn't find a spot, there were so many cars. They told us the specials of the day. They all sounded great. In the meantime, they brought out some garlic bread and toasted bread. We ordered some appetizers. The calamari was nice, crispy, and fresh. For dinner, we ordered Chicken Parm, Lasagna, Bolanesa, and Veal Parm. All of the meals were excellent and way better than expected. The food was Great. Plenty of food in each order. We had enough leftovers for the next days lunch. The ambiance was nice and Italian old school restaurant. Nice for a date or special occasion. I can't believe that we hadn't been here sooner. But one things for sure, we will be back real soon.

Friends invited us and stated that this was their favorite in the area. Since he is of Italian ancestry I thought that it must be more than passable. It was superb! Portions are gargantuan enough to eat for two days! Bread is warm and has garlic sufficient to keep the vampires at bay. Lasagna was delicious and huge, Meat sauce like Nona made. This is a place to return to many times. Easy to see why it has endured for 60 plus years. My friend was 100% right.

It was a last-minute decision, a quick visit and we didn't expect much. Boy were we surprised! The service was great. The stuffed artichoke, pasta fagioli and chicken francaise were better than anything grandma ever cooked (and she was amazing). This was among the very best italian food I've had at a restaurant.

My fiance had the Mario's sampler the sauces were watered down, he told the waitress Stouffer's lasagna was better that what they served him., My spaghetti was bland as can be hardly an ounce of sauce, his daughter ordered Alfredo and it looked like the sauce was curdled. First and last time my family will ever eat at this place.
