Great food made to order fresh, a fun atmosphere with the murals on the wall, friendly staff. I came from charleston to visit the park so I was pleasantly surprised to find this unique and great restaurant.

My salad was excellent. Sandwiches were good, however the GF sandwich was miniscule and weighed only a few ounces compared to the regular sandwich. Pic shows regular turkey sandwich with pickle vs GF sandwich that didn't include a pickle. I brought it up to one of the staff before we left who just shrugged her shoulders and said that's how it's made.

Great atmosphere and cool local events.

My friend and I stopped by while staying in Hinton. Everyone was super sweet, including other guests, and the place had a really cute vibe. I had the pizza and a dessert, which were both great! My friend had a gluten free meal that she loved. The only thing I would have liked is more variety, but I understand that comes with a small town. If we are ever in the area, I'm sure we would both be back.

Celiac friendly! My wife had the gf pizza, which they said would be prepared in a separate area to avoid cross-contamination, and it was even baked and served on a disposable pan. She did not get sick and it was absolutely delicious.

Food was really good. We ordered a loaded market pizza and was brought a pepperoni. They realized the mistake and brought us our correct one and we still got the pep at no charge. We were thankful for the polite staff and gave them a good tip to cover cost of pizza that was the mess up. Thank you staff for the courteous service.

My family took me there for lunch and it was very good.

The food was stellar - gluten free pizza, regular pizza, a Reuben with fries and a house salad with their house ranch (DO NOT SKIP THE FRIES - they are a MUST). All that said - BRIAN. This bartender brought a fresh and unique spin on cocktails - we loved the strawberry rhubarb highball (made from rhubarb from his own garden). Cocktail genius in a hidden away place, do NOT miss this!

Great little place to stop in. Our pizza had the freshest toppings and ingredients but definitely needed several more minutes in the oven. The desserts were fabulous and the cheese fries were super!

ABSOLUTELY get the cheesesteak here! The place was packed, but it was SO worth the wait.

Found this hidden jem a few years ago. Take my mother here for lunch when I'm in the are. Food is always great and the people are always friendly. Don't sleep on the fried pickles , they'll knock your Sox off.👍😊. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Paul Cole from Georgia.

Nice place to stop and eat on the way to the falls

Amazing. You ever heard "it's all good"? Well... It's all good here. Come on! You'll enjoy it. Grab a slice of pie too, and pizza!

It took a half hour to get a peach pesto pizza, which was literally SWIMMING is oil. It took 2 napkins to soak it up from each slice to be edible. We were in a hurry, so we didn't have any options. It would have been good withoutwhat seemed like an 1/8 cup of oil all over the pie. POST SCRIPT: the cost of our meal was refunded by Market on CHS, after I contacted Chloe the owner. I hope to get to return the another time to try their usually excellent food!!

Funky local cafe with great and plentiful food. We dined outside, adding to the local charm. Would definitely go again when in the area!

Not usually one to leave a negative review because I understand mistakes happen. But we waited 20 minutes to order. Got to the register said it would be an hour wait time so because we drove over and hour to get to the location we were fine with that. We were the CLOSEST table to the register and several people after us ordered and received their food before I finally got up to inquire about the wait time. One of the waitresses / employees exaggerated saying that she screamed our name 7 times and no one replied although they lost our ticket and had to look it up in their system. I can live with that. But there was no accommodation after the fact. They couldn’t provide us wit the food we ordered because their pizza oven had been shut down. There was no apology nor accountability from any of the staff. I have had good experiences at this place before, but the way we were treated was very dissappinting and lacked decency on all levels. They didn’t offer us a credit for the future or to put any of the food on the house, in this case it was just due. Up until 5 minutes before exiting I was the also the only black person that was in this establishment and trust me I had plenty of time to look around to notice. we also tipped 20% on the bill before we sat down (IN FRONT OF THE REGISTER) to wait on the food we NEVER received. Plain and simple, UNNACEPTABLE!! DO BETTER!!

IF I COULD GIVE HIGHER THEN A 5 STAR I WOULD. The best establishment to eat in Summers County! Best food, very friendly staff, clean as can be! Reasonable pricing, the deserts are amazing. The workers are spotless clean and that is so hard to find today in restarunts I give them 10 stars just for that, and the surroundings are so pleasing, they also sell jellys and country items. I recommend this wonderful hometown restaurant to ALL! Next time I'll take indoor pics very nice atmosphere, can dine inside or out. The pizza was perfect! Stone oven baked. The Strawberry Shake cheesecake was delish! And they have the best char burgers N' seasoned fries EVER! I recommend for Summers county residents come to The Marketplace for eating out! The staff is AMAZING! Thank you again

We stop in every time we get a chance. The food is delicious, the staff are so friendly and fun and it's a neat little place to sit for a while.

As we planned on day we included to spend time in Hinton Historic District. Just the drive into town was a “welcome” feeling, a feeling that was made all the way more sincere when we stepped into the friendly and warm atmosphere of the Market on Courthouse Square and soon found ourselves seated with eye appealing and tasty BLT sandwiches. The team was friendly and efficient and the food was excellent! Great place for a tasty sandwich surrounded by interesting history…you can’t lose!

The food was Mid it has way too much cheese on pizza and you wouldn’t think thats a brick oven pizza. It was colder than an ice chamber in there, but really the service was the worst thing. Waited on Pizza for about 10 minutes which isn’t bad but then I waited for chicken parmesan about 12-15 minutes after my pizza came out and the girl that brought it dropped the bowl on the table and walked away. Not the Best experience.

I enjoyed my experience at the Market very much! It was our first time and it definitely won't be our last. The picture is a Buffalo Chicken Pizza that was prepared in their brick oven. Phenomenal pizza that rivals some of the best that I've had. Highly recommend!

We drove from Richlands Virginia to Sandstone Falls (78 miles one way) and had a late lunch in historic Hinton West Virginia. We ate at the Market on Courthouse Square which was recommended to us and lunch did not disappoint. It’s a beautiful restaurant, large menu variety, and very clean with a great staff. Prices were reasonable, portions large, and the brick oven pizza was the best. Chef Greg was also kind enough to make me a pepperoni roll, which he normally makes for banquets. If you visit Hinton this is the resturant to eat at.

We drive from Beckley to Hinton just to go to The market. Was disappointed today they are starting to go cheap. We loved your salads. They have gotten smaller and now they are using cheap iceberg head lettuce. Plastic forks. We probably will not wast our time going back.

We visited The Market on a sight-seeing day through Summers County. I ordered chicken parm and the coconut cream pie, and paired it with a nice tea. To start, wow. I did not expect THAT MUCH spaghetti with this. I'm not sure what I thought but I under estimated the portion size. The sauce was amazing, the chicken was great and the spaghetti was very well cooked. The only (and I mean only) negative part was how little cheese there was, but that is a non issue. The coconut cream pie was an absolute dream. Best I've EVER had anywhere and it beats homemade by a mile. The tea was so so sweet and refreshing, as well. Just how I like it. 10/10

Went in looking for a top 10 west virginia hotdogs...was told that they took them off the menu.....so the waitress is that the Ruben was good.....so I tried it and it was amazing...beer battered fries ...perfect touch...definitely will be back

Great establishment! We stopped for lunch during a trip to New River Gorge NP. The staff was super friendly. The chicken salad sandwich was excellent and the beer battered fries were the best I've ever had.

Definitely worth a visit! The food was amazing and the indoor decor was beautiful. There was plenty of seating still but we chose to dine outside where sidewalk seating is also available.

Expected a lot but was very disappointed I ordered two pizzas and both we so soggy that we had to recook in oven to try and get them at least so you could eat without a fork. True brick oven pizzas are crunchy or at least crisp so they don’t fall apart. Also, the chocolate cake tasted like box cake and was dry. However, the pistachio cake was very good and the staff was super nice, but overall it was disappointing to spend $65 on a meal that I pretty much threw away.

Great stop for lunch. Sandwiches were fresh and filling. Fries were awesome. Service was top notch, and the market/store and dining areas were clean and interesting soaces.

Four of us had a late lunch here after visiting the Sandstone Falls boardwalk in the National Park. The food was great. I had an Italian paninni, which was very tasty. You place your order and pay at the front counter, and they bring your food to the table. The atmosphere is charming. This is a lovely place to eat in Hinton.

Good food average portions fair pricing

One of the bigger restaurants in Hinton with a variety of food. We got sandwiches and a salad to go. The sandwich was really good, but the chicken salad was terrible- very basic, over priced, and not something that would replace a meal. The service was really slow for what we got, waited about 15 minutes. It would've been 3*, but the workers were really friendly, gave pointers on what to do in the area, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it's usually slightly quicker service.

We allocated only a day to spend in downtown Hinton. I really wish we had more days there, so that I could try more menu items!! The pizza (from extraordinary crust! to red sauce to toppings) was the best I have ever tasted. The staff were no nonsense, but helpful and gracious. And every table, chair and shelf appeared immaculately cleaned! Just a great dining experience. P.S. prices were reasonable.

Excellent choice for a meal when you are visiting Hinton, WV. It is located downtown and is convenient to the shops, library, train museum, and churches. They have sandwiches, pizza, and pasta. Staff is very friendly and service was great.

We came to the area from Leon, WV for the Color The River kayaking event and drove to Hinton to explore the historical buildings. We stopped in looking for coffee and ended up getting a salad and a slice of birthday cake cheesecake (though we ate everything at Otter & Oaks after we got a couple lattes). The salad was extremely fresh, quality greens and the cheesecake was so divine! I'm coming back to get a whole cheesecake for the year lol

Wife and I had lunch here. I got the Cheesesteak sandwich, and she got the grilled chicken salad. Both were excellent. The sandwich was overflowing with meat and cheese, had to finish with a fork. The seasoned fries came with the sandwich and they were delicious. The salad was a generous portion as well, and my really enjoyed it. Service was great,and it was a nice, friendly place to eat.

I have eaten here twice while on vacation. The first time was really good. Great pizza. I don’t know what happened the 2nd time. The appetizer came out at the same time as the sun par food which was a 45 min wait for. They had no ice for drinks and didn’t say anything when ordering. I ordered the Reuben. Absolutely the worst one I’ve ever had. Looked and tasted like it was thrown together by a disgruntled employee. Disgusting!!

Hotdogs were the best. All the other food looked great also.

Our group was thrilled with the quality of our meal. The couple who ordered pizza thought it was.the best pizza we've ever had. The guest who ordered the burger said it was the best he'd ever had. Everyone loved the beer battered fries. We will travel to eat here again!

Stopped in for lunch on our way to the Sandstone boardwalk. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Nice menu selection a various sandwiches, burgers, pizza and salads. Our sandwiches were very generous portions and delicious. Some of the best fries I've had in a long time. And their prices were reasonable. It's worth your time to stop here.

Food is yummy. Pizza and a side salad are my favorite. My husband and I have been visiting the market since they first opened. When the restraint first opened their sandwiches were much better than they are today. They still have delicious food but compared to the beginning of the business, not as good. Service is always quick and friendly. Restaurant is always clean.

We stopped in at the Market on our way to the Sandstone Falls. The restaurant is in a beautiful old building in downtown Hinton and was highly recommended to us from the staff at the visitors center down the street. The facility was clean and the staff friendly and accommodating. We grabbed a reuben sandwich and fries to go and stopped by the river at a roadside park and split the lunch. It was plenty enough for both of us and the sandwich was absolutely delicious and I am not big on french fries but they we incredible. Highly recommend the Market on Courtyard Square.
