I love Marks! I love the "beef burgers" and milkshakes of many flavors! The down side, of course, is everyone loves Marks so there's frequently a long line. But we stopped by just after 3 so a short line. Marks is always worth the wait!

Some one said a huge line and hard to find parking and no seating. They concluded with who wants wait for a burger. I say they are correct, except the line, and parking tells me it worth the wait. As far as seating have a picnic in the park across the street. The burger we had was amazing. We added lettice and tomatoe and dropped the mustard. I grew up on In n Out burgers in Orange county, California. I can eat In n Out all day long. but Mark's In n Out in Livingston Montana is a cut above California In n Out. Now that is saying something. Back to the line, we met so many nice folks that made us feel welcomed

Burger is very good. It’s all very cheap, but it’s also small, so maybe better order 2. Service was 4/5 because I ordered without onions and with mayo, they just ignored and served standard.

Eating here made me feel like I'd gone back in time to simpler, cheaper days. It was very nostalgic. The food was good and even though the line was long, the service was fast for the number of customers.

Heard the food is good , unfortunately never got a chance to order the lady at the front was extremely rude I asked for a burger she said “with what on it” I said “what does it come with” she said “we have a whole menu “ she then listed what she can put on it and I said “that’s sounds good put all of that on it” I then asked for a combo with fries and a drink she said “we don’t do combos here” at this point I couldn’t stand this poor woman’s attitude and left

This place is great and no trip through, or near, Livingston is complete without a stop here. This is pure Americana: hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries, gravy fries (a cousin to poutin), and shakes, including a Huckleberry shake, a nod to a Montana specialty. They also have a decent pork chop sandwich, but the best pork chop sandwich is still in Butte.

I was in town on vacation from Ohio and decided to stop here. Best decision ever!! The food is delicious, like the tater tots are some of the best I’ve had. And the milkshake!! The food is a great price and delicious overall :)

Long wait, below average food, and terrible customer service. I get that the staff is trying to get people through as quickly as possible, but the lady at the front window didn't as much as smile.

Was traveling through to Billings and my wife wanted something quick and easy. Needless to say I’m glad we stopped here over Taco Bell! There was a decent line but the food was fast and fresh. No more than a 5-10 minute wait. And pretty freaking cheap too in today’s economy! Can’t wait to come back!

Edit/Update to review below: This place has gone downhill in the past couple of years. The quality of the burgers has declined quite a bit and a few other things…not sure if keeping employees is the issue or what but I have eaten there 4-5 times over the past two summers (bcz that’s when they’re open) and unless someone tells me things have improved I’m done. Fantastic❣️delicious burgers, fries, shakes, etc❣️it’s fast & furious all the time at Mark’s - the locals and the tourists are all scrambling to eat there as often as we can bcz they’re only open April-October

Not worth the wait. If there is a line just go somewhere else. Waited for an hour for a bog standard fast food burger. The shakes are fantastic tho nice and thick.

I will never understand the long lines for some of the worst food in town. It’s absolutely terrible. Literally anywhere in town serves a better burger, including McDonald’s. This is nothing but Cisco food with a healthy mark up for nostalgia. Enjoy.

Great place to stop on the way to somewhere. Amazing food, friendly staff, and love the pup cups for our four rescue pups. Great service, awesome prices and friendly faces.

No lie the food is great, but twice we've made an order for someone with a dairy allergy and specified no cheese. Twice now they've got the order wrong. Great food, but docked stars for messing up a no cheese order more than once.

Great food and historic local vibes. Parking is a little tricky sometimes. Don't park on the sidewalk to avoid getting ticketed.

This is ultimately a great local fast-food option, but, it may not be the fastest option around. The food is always good with a couple of unique options. We try to stop by at least once a summer. But it’s not uncommon to have to wait in line 20 minutes and then wait another 10-15 minutes for your food. It’s a cool experience that you don’t see every day, and is definitely worth the stop if you’ve got the time.

YUM! We loved stopping in at Mark's In & Out! Although fried the food was clearly freshly fried and some of the best "greasy" food I have had in a while. The onion rings were unreal they were so good. It was a beautiful day when we went and our group loved getting to sit across the street to eat at the picnic tables! Def worth the stop!

Got our order wrong, didn't take it back because if the wait. There were a lot of people there, a popular place it seemed. Burgers were just ok and fries needed salt. Wouldn't recommend it. We were there on a Wednesday afternoon. I know it's a popular place in livingston, always has a big crowd. I just didn't care for the food

We only tried this place based on good reviews posted and the line of people/cars outside.We stood in line for 20 minutes to place the order. So disappointing. We tried 4 different sandwiches, cheeseburger, hamburger, fish,and pork chop. Burgers were thin, no flavor. Fish was like a grocery store frozen fish stick. Pork ,no flavor. No way these burgers can compare to the In and Out chain for freshness and flavor. The onion rings were good. Can't recommend this place

I love old hamburger places like this. The burger was small but just the right size for me. Everyone loved the burgers they got. Fries were really good and tater tots were good. Milkshakes. Frickin awesome! So thick!!! Can’t use a paper straw with these milkshakes!!! Prices were decent. Long line to take order but then food came pretty quickly afterwards. Worth the wait.

I'm giving this place 5 stars even though we did not get to eat here. It was extremely busy and the line was long. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to wait but I am certain it would have been worth the wait. The place looks great and inviting and their menu looks awesome. Prices for their food and the selection was excellent. Definitely going to stop here next time for a burger.

I came in from out of town so from my perspective this is what I came across: The experience reminds me of what it must have been like to go to one of the first original McDonald's during summer. You stand in this crazy busy line that's always for whatever reason 20 people deep no matter how many times you drive by it all just to get to a window of a building that has probably been there since 1954 when the whole thing was originally built. You order from a fairly large menu for such a small establishment, I recommend reading the options while you stand in that line. Wait times not to bad once the order is made however they do make you feel kinda bad. See while your waiting off to the side for your food, you can see the original menu where the burgers you ordered use to be like .29c and I'm not saying the price for the food was bad... But I sure didn't get to enjoy spending a buck for 3 burgers either lol. The Fry's are good, burger was great, the malt was amazing, and they have this really strange pizza burger that I got because why not and it was also exactly what you wanted it to end up being. Whatever burger you get however I do recommend the 2-3 pattys as they are on the thin side almost like a Windy's burger if that helps for perspective. Honestly, my only complaint if I were to be a critic: is that they don't have 10 classic cars parked out front to finish off the atmosphere of it all. Because frankly that's all that is missing from the experience to finish the vibe. Beyond that, if you have the patience for the line then it's worth it and is all a pretty fun small town burger joint experience.

Don’t let the long line stop you! We waited for 30minutes in 90* heat, the only regret, is not saving room for a chocolate malt! We had the single cheeseburger (would’ve enjoyed more meat), corn dog, tots, and onion rings. Great prices. Picnic tables across the road at a park. Porta potties on site. Misting water from rooftop helps with the heat.

Great experience. Quick service and fantastic food. Burgers, veggie burger (yes, it’s good), fries, onion rings and mushrooms were all good. Prices were low for the area.

A friend recommended us to check out Montana's "In N Out" destroyer. We were happy to do so as we love a good burger. The place is super cute. I parked in a giant sprinter van, so backing out onto a busy street took a minute when we left. I ordered a super burger (2x patties) and my girlfriend ordered a regular cheese burger and some fries. I could've probably gone with an extra 3rd patty as they are small The burger isn't bad, but it did not wow me. Very standard bun, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, sauce, meat. For being made fresh, mine wasn't warm at all. Seemed to be to me on par with say, Hardee's/ Carl's Jr. Flavor was decent, again, no wow factor. This to me seemed like a solid backyard burger with much smaller patties. The fries are crinkle cut which I don't mind, but my GF is not a fan. I thought they were rather bland, I ended up adding a healthy chunk of salt to help them out.

Burgers were very disappointing

The food was good but I watched the girl through the window making my milkshake and she was using her bare hands to push the icecream back into the cup. She did this to every milkshake she made and never washed her hands once. When my wife confronted the person at the window every person in the shop looked at her like she was crazy for bringing it up.

Great food. I've seen this place before but never had time to stop when in the area. We hit Marks on the way back from Gardiner and every one of us loved it. and the picnic tables in the park were handy too although my tailgate would have been fine too..just not as shady

Our first night in Livingston and our family insisted we go here for dinner because they’re closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Your choices are eat outside or get the food to go. You stand in line outside, order, get a buzzer and wait. Fortunately the weather was good and we snagged a picnic table at the park across the street. After waiting 15-20 minutes, the buzzer went off and we got our bag of food and the drinks. They put them in a box for us and off we went across the street. When we handed out the food, we found out we had been shorted one burger so that person went back to get it. No issue other than the hassle of having to do it. The shakes were good, the burgers were good but nothing to get overly excited about and the onion rings were excellent. For six of us with six burgers, six drinks and one order of onion rings, the bill was just under $60. (They do charge extra for lettuce and tomato if you want that on your burger and a couple of us did.) They are busy all of the time. So plan to wait to order and wait to get the food and if the weather is less than ideal, be prepared. Parking is also tough too but it’s doable.

Best cheap burger in Livingston!

I decided to drive my family the 25ish minuted from Bozeman after I saw this place on the local news. I love supporting local businesses and in the event I pass by this place I'd definitely stop to get something to eat. Decently priced, spent around $50 for 4 people. There is no seating, but you can cross the road and there are park benches and tables.

To or from Gardiner and Yellowstone, you have to stop at Mark's!

Mark’s came so highly recommended and I had hoped for a pleasant experience. Especially after being on the road all day from Cheyenne, WY. I ordered the double, NO cheese, got a single WITH cheese. The young lady that took my order even confirmed the order. All but one onion ring was so over cooked the onions were blackened inside. The one thing that was correct? The drink which I used to basically choke down the order of onion rings.

A Nostalgic step back. If you could time travel back in time to the original McDonald's, In and Out, etc when it was one well oiled machine at the top of their game, I imagine it would taste like Mark's. The line was long but moved efficiently and quickly. The burger was beefy and juicy. Do be aware that these are smaller burgers and patties. Probably a little less than 2 Oz each, so I got a double, on reflection, I could have happily scarfed a sackful.... Hot dog, onion rings, fried mushrooms and milkshakes all good as well.

If you are in the area stop in wait in line place your order then they give you a buzzer and you can wait in the car. The wait is worth it !!! The burgers are smaller than normal so get a double or triple burger and get the onion rings and a milkshake.

I wanted to show my gratitude to one of the employees for his generosity. Yesterday I had what I thought to be a $25 gift card so naturally ordered a lot of food because I was starving. As it turns out it was was a 5 dollar gift card. I then decided to cancel the order entirely until he said, "nah, I got you, Luke." He took $10 out of his own pocket and covered the rest of the order! Thank you for your generous contribution to my hunger, Danny! Not only is the food incredibly delicious but they hire decent employees! Keep doing what your doing, Scott!

Drove all the way for the real hard ice cream shake, it’s on their menu for $2 more but when I ordered the girl told me they don’t make them anymore. :(. *****Please update the menu and website**** Otherwise food was good.

Great place for burgers and dogs. The place has been around forever and the food is really good. I had the hot dog and it was a foot long that was just the right amount of food. Onion rings made fresh. Didn't get to try the ice cream but it looked good as well.

I had A fish sandwich and fried mushrooms Fish Sandwich - looks like a McDonald’s sandwich but was 1 million times better, it was crunchy, had flavor and was a perfect substatue for the triple burger I wish I could have 🤤 Fried Mushrooms 🍄- perfect flavor, crispy and tasty breaded outside. I could eat these daily. The Service - perfect, on time and accurate. Yes there are lines but we should want this for all small businesses 🙏🏿 GRATITUDE

This is a cornerstone of the Livingston community. Is it the best burger in town? It is for the money! It is great food from burgers to fries to shakes, and is is very inexpensive. You aren't getting a $10 burger for $3. But it is a far better $3 burger than anyone else offers. There is no seating, parking can be difficult, but it adds to the charm. It is a must visit for any Livingston visitor.

This place serves food that tastes exactly like McDonald’s. It’s French fries and onion rings are elementary cafeteria quality. Milk shakes are benign at worst, cheap replications at best. The best thing it has going for it is it’s name which is clearly an unimaginative rip off that rides the coat tails of a quality 🍔 hamburger franchise.

If you love salt and waiting this is the best restaurant in the nation.

Summer tradition with great drive-in style food. Burgers a grain chicken sandwich is good hotdogs are tasty but I do have to say the pork chop is about the most bland thing I have ever tasted. Skip that get fries and a shake instead

The kids had wonderful milkshakes, cheeseburgers, and tots, and my wife and I had veggie burgers and soda. Such a wonderful place with fast moving line and super, super affordable items. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
