Very every Nice. Welcoming staff and the food was amazing.

Authentic Turkish dishes and flavors

We were recommended this place and had heard several people telling us how great it was. I'm not sure what dish may be remarkable for a return but we were not impressed. My partners Turkish and we eat at the many Turkish restaurants throughout North Jersey and NYC and have had our obvious fair share of delicious experiences in Istanbul. I thought it was cute inside and expected wonderful food to follow but it was subpar and unremarkable. I didn't even photograph my food to share it. We came here after a dr. appt that had me not eat for hours. I was starving! I couldn't wait to eat my favorite dish, Adana Kebab. We ordered a shepherd salad to start and also a chicken shish. The adana lacked so much flavor I didn't finish it. It was actually disappointing and also bordering dryness. The chicken shish was also overcooked. Very disappointing meal.

Went for the Kuzu Tandir, had it here before a few years back and loved it, but of course they weren't serving it this night. Not really sure why, I guess they didn't feel like mincing the lamb or maybe they ran out of eggplant, either way, that was disappointing. That being said, I ordered some other things, like the mixed grill and bronzini, and they were very delicious, the fried liver being the highlight. Though disappointed about the Kuzu, the food is still very much delicious here, even if the service left a lot to be desired.

Since it was close to my house, I gave it a chance several times at different times. I decided at every opportunity not to come again. The quality and taste of the food is well below average. The tea is stale, the bread is stale, the products on the breakfast plate are chosen of the worst quality and cheapest, the cheeses are sliced ​​thinly and distributed inadequately. We asked for a pinch of parsley and a slice of lemon and said they would add an extra $15. greens need to be presented already on the breakfast plate. It is impossible to see the waiters while sitting at the table. Probably because no one wants to tip this bad management, they apply 18% tip to all customers on the bill. We will never come again.

Not welcoming. Bizarrely bad service.. staff is confused about who does what. They offer $8 regular drip coffee, without free refills. Being a money laundering operation is fine, but, that location deserves a better restaurant.

This place used to be GREAT. Now it's just mediocre good. I think the servers are fairly new to either to the country or the service business in general. Being prompt and on top of your serving game will earn you more in tips and loyal customers. Will go back, assuming service will get better.

Excellent food, amazing service.

Went for dinner. We ate beef skirt and lamb chops. All the food was exceptionally good. It felt cozy and the staff were very nice to us.

It was disgusting that they told me this table was reserved an hour after eating, they seem like they have earned a lot of money and are tired of money, I do not recommend it at all.

We had brunch at this place . It was awesome. It was like I had breakfast in the heart of Istanbul.

Lahmacun and kebaps were delish. Appetizers were really good as well. Service was good but waiters need to be more attentive especially after serving the food. Service does not end until customer leaves premises.

We asked if we could sit for coffee in the late afternoon, they said yes. They gave us a different me menu where the starting price for a small cup of drip coffee was $8. We said ok, we’re paying for the spot I guess. We assumed by that price and it being a restaurant it should be refillable. They didn’t seem to want to serve us and were very awkward throughout; three waitresses when it was a quiet period. It doesn’t seem like a real business. They didn’t seem to want customers. They tried to charge us $36 for 2 refilled cups of coffee. Perhaps discriminating? Still confused by this place.

Fride liver is very good, just some time it can be very dry..

Everything was excellent. We left very happy and satisfied. Friendly staff too. Highly recommend checking them out. Nice cozy but spacious ambiance for dinner.

Just had a late lunch there today. Good food, beautiful decor and excellent service. The hostess was so friendly and warm. She saw my friends and I enjoying ourselves and treated us to tea and Baklava. Thank you so much!! We will be back!!

Turkish Breakfast at its best 👌

I love this rest , I went for dinner and I got the smallest shish kebab skewers I ever seen. Food is delicious but the portions are very small compared to the prices. Guys you need to work on that. Thanks

The lentil soup was good but super tiny for the price. The salad was mainly lettuce and cheese pieces and listed as $12 online but I was charged $16.50…. For lettuce and cheese? I spent $43.18 for a small lemonade, a coke, small lentil soup, salad (no meat or seafood in it), and a small portion of baba ganoush. Prices do not match the online menu and so I will sadly not be returning. Not worth the $ for the portions.

Service is great, food is horrible. Not sure if they have new management, chefs or what, it used to be our go-to cafe for breakfast. But now, we probably go somewhere else. Coffee is so bad, i sent it back, get cappuccino machine or something. Nothing is fresh, bread is hard, everything probably prepped earlier and just sit out all morning, nothing is cut fresh or individually cooked anymore.

Nice place for the breakfasts. But there is one thing. They are charging you with gratuity. Normally, I tip more than gratuity amont. But because they are charging gratuity as a default option, they are missing my tips. I respect their choices, sure. Again, suggested for a traditional Turkish breakfast. The team is friendly and kind, additionally.

Very nice and comfortable place! Salads are excellent and the lentil soup to die for. I would not give up on deserts either. My favorite place for last 12 years and they continue to perform.

That's a horrible thing. I've tried a lot of mixed grills, but I haven't seen anything like this. It felt like a children's menu. Tiny chicken wings, a miniature piece of meat, and a chicken skewer that could be considered small. There was no Adana kebab or doner inside. $37? This must be a joke. It felt like a hidden camera prank. I'm giving it three stars because of the workers' efforts. There are very hardworking employees. They have a great attitude and their conversations are wonderful. They are very naive and polite. I'm giving three stars solely for the workers and their efforts. Otherwise, even one star would be too much. ps. Firstly, I am the one who wrote the review, your former employee is my wife. Moreover, my wife only worked there for 2 weeks back in 2015 and she just washed dishes. How many times could she have seen or known about your mixed grill? Furthermore, about 10-20 of your customers came because my wife praised you after she left. Your apology is worse than your mistake. Don't you feel ashamed to write a comment in a more horrifying way when an apology is expected? Where is the customer satisfaction? Went here for Saturday morning brunch and everyone was SO NICE! I asked to have a cup of coffee outside while waiting for my friend and they brought out my coffee almost immediately and it was seriously delicious. (I bought American drip coffee, will try the Turkish coffee next time). My friend and I then sat inside and ate a lovely light brunch for a very reasonable price (we had unlimited refills on our coffees, 2 cups of tea, kasar (cheese) gozleme and a sucuk panini with fries). All this cost ~40 dollars for two people. The decor is beautiful, the staff was so kind. I probably drank 6 cups of coffee and the server was always there to refill my cup even though we sat to chat/catch up for almost 3 hours!! I cannot say enough nice things about the servers—truly classy bunch! Will definitely be returning soon!

Marmaris cafe is one of the Turkish cafes that I go to frequently. The staff serve with a smile every time I go. the food is pretty good too. There are actually many Turkish restaurants in the Edgewater area. The decoration and environment of this place seems more friendly to me. There is also a parking lot for the car in front of the cafe. Affordable prices.

Ordered the chicken kabob and literally received 5 little 2 inch pieces of chicken, never in my life have I ever received such a tiny portion. Every Turkish /Arabic restaurant I’ve been to served normal sized dishes… this is a portion for a small cat. Look elsewhere.

I was there with my family for dinner and the food was really bad so is the service. The weather was nice so we asked to set outside. But we were told no! The tables outside are reserved. Yet we were there for 2 hours no showed up , And at one point we were the only ones in the restaurant. we Ordered the mix grill , chicken shish kabab, lamb shish kabab . They did offer kids menu. So ended up ordering regular portions for the kids to share, Everything in the mix grill was overcooked! extremely dry chicken lamp. However the wings!!!. We’re undercooked. None of the side dishes were properly seasoned. My kid order the chicken Alfredo pasta was over cooked snd sauce was bland. I’ve been there before for breakfast and the food was good , but maybe because the only thing that was made in-house was the bread. I don’t recommend this place at all . It’s not worth the money.

Marmari’s Cafe was an excellent experience in Mediterranean dining. We called ahead since we had limited time to eat between work events and the staff had a beautiful location set up and ready for us. Within moments of sitting down we had our appetizers. Service was friendly, efficient and we could not have asked for a better experience. Not only will I be returning with friends and family, I will be telling everyone I know to dine at Marmari’s.

We were here today for iftar with my friend. We wanted to pray but the restaurant didn't allow us and they didn't even show us a place we could use . It was ridiculous to experience such a situation in Ramadan, and in a Muslim restaurant. While in America, a country with freedom of worship, I can worship comfortably in a rooftop in New York, but I’m not allowed to pray in a Muslim owned restaurant . We had issues with the tip before where the server ran after us demanding we didn’t pay tip. I corrected their mistake and showed them we had already paid the tip. They went back into the restaurant after embarrassing me and my friends. The customer service and lack of respect is unacceptable and humiliating

Overpriced and small portions. The appetizers are the best thing they had. The skewers look like one cube chopped in 4.. everything is pretty much cut in 4ths and served as regular portions. First and last experience. I gave them a chance to provide more meat or something, but if they don’t care then I don’t care about coming back. I’ll go up to cliffside.

Service was ok but the food is horrible, they fill the plate with French fries to make up for small portions and sub par dishes. Do not waste your time since their menu has very limited options and everything tastes bland. First and last time I will ever go here.

The service was terrible. No smiles, never came to ask if we needed anything, restaurant was completely empty yet we had to wait 40 min for our food. Was never asked in between if we would like anything or if everything is okay. And the food was sub-par. Not coming back. Definitely not recommending.

Great discovery! I had the roasted lamb on eggplant (think babaganoush). Very good! Turkish coffee with baklava was the perfect finish.

We had Shrimp Casserole last time. It was really good and made us to visit again. This time, it was also a perfect, tasty journey from bread to dessert and Turkish coffee! Everything was so satisfying:)

Food used to be good but this was the second time I left there with disappointment.We ordered lahmacun which wasnt as we expected taste wise also ordered lamb sac kavurma it was over salted not flavorful .Maybe they changed their chef or cooking staff but food was terrible not used to be 🥲🥲

It was wonderful place, There are many night clubs, street foods etc. but the beaches as much as not good my expectation is too highly from the Mediterranean beaches.

The place was nice and this was the first Turkish food I am trying. The food was excellent. Place was clean.

The food here is good but service seems terrible be quite confusing and disappointing! We set on a table outside and waited more than five minutes to get our menus. Then we waited 15 minutes for the waitress to come and take our order. This was a different waitress. She took our order and a third waitress brought our salad after five minutes. Until then we had noting on the table. After we received the salad we asked for some bread. The bread came! Then our first main course arrived but our drinks never came. We shared the first meal and I had to go inside to ask for our drinks. She said ‘yes, immediately’ but then we had to wait another 7 minutes and no drinks! My friend went in to ask for it again and that is when the drinks arrived! We are still waiting for the other main course!!! Terrible service for such a nice location! Where on earth three different waitresses serve to a table of three??

I'm sure lunch and dinner are worth it but breakfast was such a small portion for what I was originally hoping for the price.

Me and my girlfriend got food poisoning after eating here. The Food is overpriced and decent at best. It was very hot outside and indoors was even hotter the AC was either turned off or not working. You would think for the prices you pay the AC would be working. I believe the chicken we had was soiled because it was so hot in there.

First time here! Our server, Feyza was incredibly knowledgeable & patient. We ordered the Lentil soup, Falafel, Turkish Pizza & Shepard salad. Everything was prepared in a timely manner & delicious. For desert there was baklava & a pastry stuffed w/pistachios & clotted cream served w/ ice cream. It was sublime. There's spacious outdoor seating as well as indoors & of course take out. We enjoyed this meal & ambience & recommend it for delicious Turkish cuisine. 2 thumbs up!!👍🏼👍🏼

This is a wonderful original Turkish experience with excellent Mediterranean food, Turkish hospitality and friendly talk with the staff.

It pains me to say that despite the good food the service was awful. I not only wait for the menu but also even water or something to drink . Staff chatting in the front - they were not really welcoming or helpful at all . There were at least 2 tables occupied including mine . Excellent food. But terrible service . Very dissatisfied

You won’t regret eating here. Staff prepares and delivers everything ordered to the table in a level that you can enjoy. They are clean, friendly and on time. My favorite is cop shish.

Food is awesome, fresh and home made. Especially, their warm fresh bread is just awesome. Most of all, they are very kind. Turkish hot tea is pretty interesting. Their honey and butter combination for bread is good

acceptable food, poor attention and discriminatory, our tables despite being the largest we were 5, they did not put salt or napkins, the other tables did have them, they brought us the food after another table that had arrived later to us, never They picked up our plates despite having asked for an appetizer, they were very rude and we personally let the waiter know. If you don't speak perfect English, don't go because they pretend they don't understand you. We will certainly not return to this site.

Excelent food 👍 just wish better attention next time. I know being waiters is hard but we had to ask many times for basics details missing today in our table for our satisfaction, now when everything is more expensive and the tips are over 18% all we the customers we think that the experience have to be worthy.

Always always a great meal! I will continue to go back time and time again and have never been disappointed! Dinners are exceptional. Make sure you to bring your own wine and their brunch is to die for!
