First time up to this area. Awesome place, the food and people were wonderful!

Bread was a little stale on my BLT.

My husband and I went to the beach in betterton for the day, we stopped by for a bite to eat and it definitely didn't disappoint! The turkey sub was delicious and packed with meat, I couldn't finish it,packed it to go, rolls were fresh as well. My husband got the cheeseburger, he said it really good! It was huge and on a kaiser roll. The owner and her son were very nice as well. We will be back to try more for sure! 😊

Always great food and service! We order from them regularly! I always recommend them to people renting our air bnb! They can deliver too!

The wings I went for the wings lol They have good food also.I drove a good little distance for the wings they are the best I have had around the area and I have tried them all 😆I like my wings definitely get them you won't be disappointed.

We ordered a small pizza to eat on the beach, and thought it was great! The small pizza is actually quite large, and since it was made to order it was nice and piping hot. Basic, but does the job if you are craving pizza on a visit to the beach!

We love Marzella’s! Definitely the best buffalo chicken cheese steak in Kent county. I also love that they will deliver to the beach, super convenient! Great family owned business!

Wonderful pizza, and my son had what he called “the best grilled cheese ever”. Which is saying a lot! I also saw other families eating what looked like delicious subway sandwiches. And the older couple that owned the place were wonderful!

First time. Pizza was delicious because of the sauce. Good even when reheated. Other order was a cheese steak sub. Also very good. We ate in but saw many takeout orders being picked up.

Best cheese steak on the Eastern Shore- without a doubt. Best cheese steak below the Mason-Dixon line- absolutely. When I closed my eyes I could have sworn I was in South Philly.

We rowed ashore and walked up to Marzella's, cold and hungry. Though they have only offered take out since COVID, they took pity upon us and allowed us to sit down and enjoy a delicious hot meal. Francis and Marzella clearly love each other (61 years married) and love serving food and having customers.

Very accommodating, personable and great food!

Had about 40-50 guys in the small house-needed something to keep them full while we had our vacation! When they brought the women's lacrosse team from Washington over, I knew we had trouble on our hands. Thankfully Marzellas was able to deliver even though we were out of their delivery range, and our driver was awesome and super understanding about having that many guys to feed on a Sunday. Thanks Marzellas, we thought the white pie was not mid!!!

I drive 30 minutes one way and have never once regretted it. The owners/staff are so personable and the pizza is the best in Kent County in my humble opinion. Highly recommend the white pizza too!

It's a cozy place and lovely owners, but they are only doing deliveries or pick up no dine in.

Drove a hour and 10 minutes to eat here and every second on the road was worth it... will. Our family will be going there more ofter... the owners are very very nice great people.... thank you so much for the best experience and best food... my husband said the cheese steak is like he was in Philadelphia again. The pizza was hot and fresh with the best flavor crust... the Hamburger was great and the fires were hot and freah... thank you again and we will see you soon... The Herrmanns...

Our trip to Marzella's was a treat and we are welcomed each and every time there by the wonderful owners.,Francis and Marie/ They are a treat. They came from Pennsylvania and retired. got bored after moving here, and opened this place. They make the best pizza in the area which is typically hard to find in Maryland. They are fun and loving people and they do it all, cooking and serving themselves. It is a lost art. They have only one other employee, Justin, who fills in and makes deliveries. Don't miss this place. You will love it!! I rate it as an A+

Learned they delivered, so ordered within moments. (Wanted something different due to other area delivery service which was horrible) I was shocked how quickly the food arrived. Everything was hot, fresh and was wonderful! The cheese steak was absolutely awesome! I asked for old bay wings and they actually made them even though they arent on the menu! Everything was on point not to mention the pizza was absolutely the best! Will order from again. Great service, great food and overall a great business!

Yes, the best on the Eastern Shore from this little, off the beaten track pizza shop. Francis and Moureen Marzella sold the busy pizza shop they operated in suburban Philadelphia for decades and "retired" to open Marzellas by the Bay in Betterton several years ago. It's small, friendly, inexpensive and SO GOOD! The reason their food is so good is because they still travel to Philly every week to get their rolls, meats and other supplies from the same vendors they used all those many years in back in PA. Beer is available by the bottle or six pack, hoagies, standard sandwiches, fries, etc. Delivery is available locally most times.

We relocated from the Philly area to the Eastern Shore in Maryland 7 years ago. We tried pizza and cheesestakes at several places before finding Marzellas in Betterton. It's a small place, owned and operated by an older couple who owned and operated a pizza shop in the Philly suburbs for decades before "retiring" to Betterton where they bought an old firehouse, renovated it and started making pizzas, cheesestakes and hoagies exactly as they had back in PA. In fact, they travel back to Philly once a week to get their rolls, meats, cheeses, etc from the same suppliers they have always used. Excellent food, great prices and really sweet folks.

You can't get a better pizza or a better price anywhere around here and the staff is very friendly.

Good pizza. Place needs a good cleaning. tables were not wiped down. Cobwebs encased duck decoys and sign in window. Owners have no staff other than a delivery boy. They take forever to finish and order. I wanted a sandwich but after the husband yelled at the wife to take no more orders I ate the pizza the rest of my family ordered. They need staff and a good cleaning.

Wow was not expecting good pizza but it was great! Try the white pizza with spinach. Will definitly go back again!

I read the reviews and after a day at the beach decided to try it. Staff consists of a couple and a delivery person. That's it. They had many take out orders so when we ordered slices they said they couldn't do it. So we ordered a pie and the husband yelled at the wife not to take any more orders. We waited for a long time at a table that was sticky. Had lots of time to look at the cobwebs encasing the duck de it's and signs. Floor mat had dog hair on it. Pizza was surprisingly good. At paying they apologized for the wait and said they can't get good help. I wouldn't go again unless they clean it up.

I got a burger and it was just about the best burger I've ever had and I got a huge helping of very good fries all for only $10. They staff is also very helpful and friendly.

Francis and Maureen always make you feel comfortable. The food is good and well prepared. Pizza 🍕 is superb especially with anchovies and mushrooms 🍄. And the antipasto salad is quite filling;)

The owners fight alot, the food is inconsistent. Don't ask for grilled onions or mushrooms bcuz you'll never find them in your food, they use boiled salami instead of genoa, the meats are cut so thin you can see they them, the bottom of the pizza crust is always black

Have been eating marzellas goodness since 1980s in Collegeville, pa. Fran & Maureen know what good Italian food tastes like. Ive never been disappointed with any food on their menu. I am always fascinated with their stromboli , pizza , & crisp fries ( im very picky about where i get my stromboli - gotta try their Italian stromboli! ). BAM! Right on point. They moved to small town Betterton which just happens to be where my father lives what a coincidence! If youre out of town, the drive is worth it if youre hungry for GOOD FOOD!

Marzella's By The Bay has a variety of foods to choose from. My favorite would be the BLT, and their Cheesesteaks. The resteraunt has a soft, and cute feel. Great for kids.

If you ever a problem and your down and you know these wonderful people they will definitely help you up their not giving hand outs their giving a hand up because their that amazing

Went there on a whim for dinner. Husband ordered mozzarella sticks and a bacon cheese burger, I ordered and grilled chicken salad. My husband got his mozzarella sticks then his burger and finished them both before they even started making my salad. I had to go ask for it. When she brought it to me, she said that next time I need to call ahead and it would be ready when I got there. The grilled chicken was ground chicken, and it wasn't good...at all. Ate the salad and went to the car, husband paid the bill and was told the same thing, I was that next time call ahead, and that she is the only one who makes the salads and couldn't get away from the phone the whole hour and a half we were there. She should have apologized and not blamed me for not calling ahead, it was her forgetting to make the salad. My husband said his food was good. Lucky for her I didn't want to make a scene. We just won't go back. I'm a local and will definitely share my experience!

Marzella's has not only amazing pizza but such friendly staff and owners. My grandparents have a condo in Betterton and we always make sure to have a pizza night when we visit. We came in late one night and called for pizza to find out they were going to be closed. They stayed open just for us! It is a true mom and pop restaurant. I cannot say enough great things!
