I love the food here and usually eat there for lunch because of the wonderful buffet. Food is fresh and delicious. Don't forget to try the desserts.

I haven't been to EVERY Indian/Nepali restaurant in the Boston area, butI've been to a lot of buffets...and this is the best place I've found! The quality of each dish, the variety, the fact that there is always something different that I've never had before...really good raita, masala tea, palak paneer, garlic naan, dal, rice, chutneys, fresh fruit, sometimes good kheer, and plenty of specialties....the place I would take guests.

This place is my no.1 for Indian cousins. I’m sensitive of smell of dish and glass. However their dishes are always hot. It feels like clean and no buttery smell at all. Food quality is really nice. My favorite menus in lunch buffet are tandoori shrimp and calamari. Also they provide you free garlic naan. Try this restaurant. You should satisfy it!

I was in the area today (Saturday) and wanted to stop by to eat some Nepali food, but the host stopped us at the door and said that they were closed. They were supposed to be open for lunch till 4:00 pm and I reached there at 3:13 pm. Very bad impression! Will never go back!!

Food was very bad. In my salad there was fungus on green chili. Tofu is also not good.

I’m pretty inexperienced with Indian cuisine, so I love that there is a lunch buffet. The restaurant is a bit small so there weren’t a TON of choices, but I was definitely full after trying even just half the options. Also note that the seats were all full (Sunday 1pm). Food-wise there were some hits and misses, but mostly hits! Some standouts for me were the goat dish and tikka masala of course. The garlic naan bread (table service) especially was the best I’ve ever had. The fried bread rings on the other hand (sorry I don’t remember the name) placed at the buffet were impossible to chew! –probably just got stale.

Been up and down with Masala. It was a favorite of mine, went downhill, but is back to good IMO. My favorite is the methi chicken, but going the lunch buffet today was exceptionally good. Lots of dishes, not just "the usual”. Fragrant and delicious.

The BEST lunch buffet place in the Boston area for South Asian food! Amazing Nepali/Indian dishes for the very reasonable price of $18. If you live in Boston , you know that's a great deal. They have garlic naan, dal tadka, palak paneer, navaratan korma, chicken tikka, and even Nepali dishes like momo, goat curry, rayo ko saag, kukhura ko masu, and chai/chiya. The quality of all the dishess, service team and the aesthetics of the place are all 10/10.

The food was bland and cold. The service was horrible and we were asked to leave within 30 min although there was no waiting outside. Got weird glances from the waiters (2-3 at a time) as well. Would definitely NOT recommend this place to my worst enemies also.

Updated on 01/27/2024 second time here, ordered Vegetarian Platter again and worth it. Ordered Chicken Curry with middle hot. But not so hot as we expected. The service is still good and love the atmosphere there. Need to order Chicken Masala instead of chicken curry. Did not know there is difference. Will come again if need to have Indian food with good atmosphere. Only thing need to mention and notice next time is to confirm whether they have rice with it. We ordered 2 garlic nangs because we thought it had no rice with it. So 1 garlic nang, 1 dish and 1 vegetarian Platter, it would be perfect for 2 people. 5 ⭐️ still. The service is pretty good. And the environment looks new and nice as well. They provide some appetizer by default with 3 different sauces which is awesome and you could ask more for free. Awesome! Ordered Vegetarian Platter which is hot and fresh, good to have to start. The black one is Lamb Palak with mild, it is okay, a little to plain for me. I ordered Rogan Josh with middle hot and the spicy level is perfect. But still prefer with Chicken masala with middle hot, Classic and could not be wrong. Garlic Naan is okay. Ordered another sweet naan Peshawari, more like snack. If you want something new, it is worth to try. But i might not try again. Still not get used to sweet naan I guess.

Beautiful place, the food could’ve been all less salty. The saltiness of it is what killed it for us. If it had just been a little less definitely would’ve been 5/5 for the food. Pricing was just around 15$ for the buffet. Service was good, we asked for a lassi when we arrived never got it until we asked a second time. I like how they offer endless garlic nan bread. 3/5

There are not much food variety, compared to other Indian restaurants. Most of the food are spicy so not that kids friendly. The price is reasonable though. And customer service was good. The Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala were salty, unfortunately. The nan bread was good.

My favorite Indian restaurant in the Davis square area, everything I’ve had has always been great. I’m partial to paneer, and have enjoyed everything with paneer :) and good naan.

First time I went Masala, I got to go orders. They are so helpful. I saw 2 girls , they are so nice , they helped my order. They explained all menu for me . And also they given dessert for me free, I felt like my home (I am from Turkey ) when I asked about dessert later . Really love it . Also big portions. They said dumplings so much popüler . This spot is wonderful. Staff are friendly, professional and very helpful. The food was delicious and well prepared. I did the lunch buffet so I got to take small portions to taste to see what everything was like. They also have vegan options that’s separated from other foods. The atmosphere is chic and you can even see some of the cooking activity in the kitchen through a glass area. During buffet the foods are labeled with adequate descriptions (just slow down and read, you got this). I liked everything except the avocado which had condiments poured on that was unpleasant to my palate (not that it was bad). Overall I gave the place all five stars as I really enjoyed the spring chicken (LOL, not what you think, it’s the flavor).

One of the best Indian buffets on the planet. Seriously. All the veggie dishes are great. Usually there's one or two options that are meh, but not here. They also include chai tea, fresh naan, and a great dessert or two.

My friends and I were literally bouncing with excitement when we arrived at 3 pm on a Saturday and realized we still had until 4 before it closed. This place has become our go-to Indian restaurant this year, and they also offer dosas and Nepalese options. Masala provides a lovely atmosphere, buffet lunch options, and their staff are kind & attentive. The food is excellent. We like the Masala Dosa, Chili Chicken, Chana Masala, and the fabulous fresh bread. Also a nice beer & wine selection if you are so inclined.

They understand spice better than most restaurants around Boston. When they say a dish is spicy, it actually offers a decent kick. The lamb vindaloo was decent. The chicken tikka masala was underwhelming. They charge a bit more than what they offer but overall a good experience. Make sure you get a side order of garlic naan.

The place is laid out well and is clean. I went to eat buffet on a Sunday. As for the food, being a north Indian, it doesn't compare to what I expected. Tandoori Chicken was good. They should've put the same chicken in the butter chicken gravy. It would've been much better. Not sure why they cook butter chicken with boneless pieces here. It's much better with boned chicken. Mutter Paneer: Bland, not even cooked well enough with spices. Matter Paneer should have creamy pureed spinach with big cubes of Paneer that melt in your mouth. Daal: Not sure if it was supposed to be a Makhani Daal. It was just a very basic daal cooked with minimal spices. Rice: Basmati rice was cooked well. Dessert: Rasmalai- watered down. The store bought Rasmali from Nanak or Brar is so much better. Tea: Not an authentic masala tea. Very strong with less milk. Overall, it's an ok place if you just want to eat something less spicy and still want to try a few things. However, if I'm craving some good Indian food, this isn't the place I'll go to.
