Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Expect to pay $100+ for two people.

I've never been disappointed when visiting Maxwells. This is the place to meet for happy hour drinks with friends, great appetizers, great wine selection and a superb dinner offerings.

My husband and I came here for our 7th Wedding Anniversary and it was a delightful evening. Jennifer C and her partner in crime trainee were the best servers. Super down to earth, gave great recommendations and always checking in to see if we needed anything. The drinks were super tasty and the food was phenomenal. The hubby got the waygu steak with shrimp on the side, while I got the boar chops with lobster. Enjoyed some s'mores creme brulee for dessert.

My boyfriend brought me to Maxwell’s to celebrate my birthday on 8/12. Our server was amazing! She was super personable, provided awesome recommendations (as we’re not from the area), and made the evening extra special. The food and drinks were delicious. The macadamia nut crusted Chilean sea bass was perfectly cooked. The lobster risotto with it was creamy and also cooked to perfection. We highly recommend the chocolate lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream - so good! In addition, the atmosphere was nice. Thank you for the amazing experience! We can’t wait to come back!

everything was just OK nothing really stood out but the front door seating did suck

I've been going to Maxwell's once every few months since I moved to Fargo 9 years ago. It is always fantastic. What prompted me to sit down and write a review is the Chilean Bass I ordered here Monday - it is one of the best meals I've ever eaten. The fish was perfect, the preparation was perfect, the sides were wonderful. Cocktails here are always fantastic. We always get the escargot appetizer and it is as good as anything in France. Server Jen here is amazing and always recognizes here, but all the other servers are wonderful too. Great place to eat.

The service was exceptional as was the food and wine list. I've been here many times, the current management may be the best.

Called 30 mins ahead of time and they were able to take my party of 12. All the food was absolutely fantastic. Jen, the assistant manager, took care of our party. I was with a huge group of Japanese visitors. Because of that, we had a lot of weird requests and they accommodated all of them. Absolutely top level service. 10/10 service and food. Best place in Fargo.

Very, very good. Although I typically am less excited about what I might call New American cuisine, everything was deeply flavorful and vibrant. Very impressed and would look forward to going back.

Ramon welcomed us like we were family. The cheese board was a perfect combination of cheeses and meats. I had the special Chilean sea bass crusted with macadamia nuts with couscous. I wanted to lick my plate.

How do you say perfect? Maxwells is the answer. Starting from the moment we wake in, the friendliness of the staff was amazing. It's fairly evident that they live their jobs and are good at them. They make sure you feel welcome and know what is on the chef's special for the evening. Our server continued the experience by making some great suggestions and even helped my wife put together an entree that wasn't quite on the menu. I chose the chef's special pairing for the night, and everything from the drink pairings to the food items themselves were spectacular. To the chef who personally created my wife's meal, it made our night out extra special. So, if you're looking for a fine dining experience in the Fargo area, Maxwells is the place to go.

Food was almost average, the presentation of the food was lacking. Cheese tray was amazing!!! I recommend the fish, we had a steak and I had no interest in taking home leftovers.

Excellent service and excellent food! The tenderloin was cooked to perfection - risotto had such good flavor - someone has the stroganoff and wow that was so good! And we finished with the carrot bread pudding. Looking forward to going back. Our server was friendly helpful and so nice.

This restaurant is absolutely amazing the staff is incredible and the food was out of this world I can’t recommend this place enough I had the rack of lamb and it was tender and delicious the old fashion recommended by my server was amazing so yourself a favor and check out maxwells

price is a bit expensive but in fargo nd u cant get what they offer for less

Oh my…what a great experience! The food…I had the lamb chops, my husband had the Ribeye…both were absolutely perfect. The Romaine salad in the Parmesan cheese cup was exquisite…service was amazing. A great experience! Recommend highly👍

Steak could have been more flavorful. Otherwise everything else was excellent.

This place is amazing! Check it out for your next birthday, Anniversary, or any event. Atmosphere is perfect, staff were amazing and food was to die for. My family and I won't think twice about going.

First time at Maxwell's for my wife and I. Interior of the restaurant is a bit dated but cozy and clean. Bar is adjacent to main front dining room creating quite a bit of noise for an expected higher dining experience. Service was good but relatively slow for a Saturday evening. My wife's ribeye was actually quite tough but tasty. My lobster bisque appetizer was very good and the in-house made pistachio cheesecake was probably the best I've had. Was good to go once, but unlikely we will choose to return.

My meal was awesome . My wife’s meal was under seasoned . She had a steak and said it just tasted like meat. The mushroom risotto was fabulous.

Always love coming to maxwells! It truly my favorite restaurant in the Fargo area. You can always expect excellent dishes, service, and ambience. Great experience every time!

Food was excellent, and so was the service. It was a bit on the pricey side for a restaurant in the F/M area, but it's definitely worth it for an occasional outing or special event.

Maxwell's was terrific as always. One of the things I love best is the consistency in the experience. Never disappointed when going to Maxwell's!

The environment was elegant, and the server was very nice. The food, however, was coated with different kinds of sauces. I would suggest tasting the sauce before you get the dish or order the sauce on the side. The bread and crackers were a nice start. Crab cakes are great! I hate to say it, but I expected more for what we paid. $250+ The lobster squid ink fettuccine in our opinions, tasted a bit funky, but it could have been the sauce. Not sure I will if I'll go back.

Maxwell's is fantastic. Usually the service is excellent however on our last visit our service was very poor. Our server was absent at best, we had to continue to ask for beverage refills, he asked how our meal is tasting after we were finished eating. When you pay as much as you do at Maxwell's you expect good service, hopefully we have a better experience next time.

Cozy atmosphere with great food and drinks. We came on a friday night for a date and the place was packed and bustling with conversations. We ordered tenderloin and ribeye. both steaks were cooked perfectly and we had a wonderful night. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here, and when we went they had a 3 course special with wine pairings thay you could choose for 99$, if they have that option on my next visit I'll have to try it. Our server, Sam, suggested a lemon meringue martini and he was on the money with that one. It was like an adult version of a lemon drop shot, tasty!

The rice was very watery and bland. The steak was a little tough and not seasoned well. The scallops were gritty. We did enjoy the beverages and service.

Consistency shines through with every visit, from the food to their service! We have been coming here for years. Whether we belly up at the bar for a date night or sit in the dining area as a family, we love it every time!

Every single thing was excellent. The steak was cooked just right nice and tender. My lobster was perfect. My wife's chicken was moist and juicy. It was our first time there. We will be going back again and we recommend it to everyone.

Delicious food but we didn't pay attention to what a cup of lobster bisque was & found out it was $20 which we thought was quite high for a cup of soup.

Maxwells is our go-to restaurant when we want something really special - the food is amazing, the menu changes, the service is always top notch, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. They have a great wine selection, and wonderful desserts. You will never be disappointed at Maxwells!

My husband had the special and for a 109.00 steak it should have been outstanding and it was nothing special. Everything else was outstanding as usual. Caramel pie creme brûlée and peppermint ice cream was amazing. My chicken piccata was awesome.

I’ve been going to Maxwells since they opened. For both special occasions and just because they have the best food and service in town . But this time was a hole lot different the service was short the food was past over cooked. The sever did not close the deal I had to go and look for some one to pay. I hope this was a fluke and not the new normal.

Truly delicious meal of seasonal venison cooked perfectly, and elevated by its accompanying foods. Perfect complement of vegetable, sauce, and starches. One of the best meals of recent memory across the USA! A real treat!!!

Our server Jennifer was beyond amazing. One of the best in Fargo. Food was great too. But the way Jennifer made everything so special made the food even taste better. Would be back for the service and food. The atmosphere is good too.

Love our times spent here - from our familiar and extremely charming Host, the accommodating and stellar wait-staff, and to the absolute decadence of the food/wine/cocktail options ... really all I can say is WOW!

We like to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries at Maxwell's. From the friendly greeting to the expansive wine selection and the delicious entrees, we always leave happy. If we lived closer, we would likely eat here more often! We're never disappointed!!!

Great atmosphere, excellent service, and the menu outstanding! Maxwells is hands-down the best restaurant in the FM area. The prices are fair for what you’re getting. I would have expected to pay more for the quality & portion size. The wine section is impressive and they also have a unique cocktail menu.

We were happy that there was a dinner special available not on the regular menu. Food, drinks and service was top notch as always. Always great that Ramone is greeting guests at the door.

The lump crab cakes were amazing. We dined on the Smoked linguine with mussels and clams and the black angus tenderloin both of which were cooked to perfection and delicious! Our server was very attentive and personable as well! Will definitely be back!
