Good little coffee/ tea shop! Great service and fun setting.

The Oatmilk Spice Latte extra sweet is my favorite. Zoey D. served my drink through the drive through with a great smile and a quick, friendly, Monday-morning chat. Skip the corporate garbage chains across the street and head to Mayalu!

We stopped by Mayalu Coffee while visiting the DSM area. We tried Nepali Chiya, White tea, Chai tea, chocolate almond croissant, blueberry danish and pistachio cheesecake. Everything was really good and had great flavor, and we loved the floor seating area. Really nice atmosphere, great food and service. Would highly recommend.

It's exotic and new! I love the Tumeric Latte 😋😋 and a spicy Samoich on occasion

This is a great coffee shop to come in and work while having a great drink. The vibes were great, I was able to focus really well on my work, and my latte was sooo good. Definitely recommend checking out if you’re in the area.

Wonderful! From the exceptionally friendly owner and staff to the coffee Great location, plenty of indoor or outdoor seating. I had an Cardi Brew and it was fantastic cardamom . It was Great flavor and a perfect balance of taste . The pastry was warmed and paired well with the coffee .

I absolutely adore this place. The whole staff remembers my name and my drink and makes me feel so welcome. The cold brew is so smooth and amazing!! Definitely recommend. Updated; still highly recommend.

Such a nice and friendly place! I am so thankful to have came across this hidden gem!! I love the helpful way the staff was to me! As I'm trying out new flavors and spices! I love the rewards points that they have! There's a darling area you take your shoes off and can plug your laptop in and work quietly.. or read a book- whatever it is your looking to do while you enjoy your treat!! My new favorite is the pistachio white mocha +blackberry with oat milk (on ice) topped with whipped cream!! Yuuuuuummmyy !!!!

The tamarind coffee is awesome with a punch of ginger The bacon egg bites were fresh and not rubbery. Will go try more new coffee flavors and blends soon

Great local shop, perfect for meetings or working in a unique space with both chair and table and floor seating. Spiced coffee is a fun option, and their more standard coffee choices are delicious too. They carry pastries from Cha Cha’s. Great addition to the southwest Des Moines area!

Had the lavender latte after another reviewer said it was amazing. I personally thought it was ok, I usually like mine sweeter. The female employee was super kind. Love the space too, would have stayed longer if not in a rush.

Was looking for a coffee shop open on New Year’s Eve, and was so excited to find this spot. It was a pleasant space and the coffee was great. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend!!!

Traveling through Iowa from Missouri and decided to try this place for my morning coffee. The coffee is AMAZING, I got a vanilla oatmilk latte and the espresso in this coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had. My boyfriend( who’s usually not a coffee person) loved the iced mocha he got. We also got a sandwich and a yogurt parfait. The sandwich was amazing and fairly large for the price. The location is also very aesthetically pleasing, perfect place for cute morning coffee instagram pictures.

Tried Mayalu for the first time and wow a great experience. We tried Nepali Chiya and Oat Milk Spice Latte. We were greeted with smiles and a joyful hello. Our drinks were unique and delicious. We later met the owner and the full staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, inviting, and knowledgeable about the menu. The owner even had us try 2 complimentary drinks and provide feedback. This level of customer experience caught us off guard in a pleasant way. We will absolutely return to try many other menu items. This small business truly offers a unique experience, beautiful variety in menu, and delicious great value for the flavor. A must try for all❤️

Such a cute little coffee shop with great tea and chai! The floor seating area was especially cozy.

I loved everything about Mayalu! It's cute. It's local. They have a drive-thru. The chai is OUTSTANDING. Plus, you can get ChuChu Donuts there. And there's comfortable seating unlike most coffeeshops in Des Moines. I love it, and I plan to be there a lot more often.

The crochet group I’m part of goes here frequently and we love it! Great vibes for chilling and being cozy. The employees are always super friendly too. Has a few comfy seating options and the drinks are fabulous. I’m not usually on the south end of town but when I am it’s my go to stop.

Love this local coffee shop. The people are very patient while you ask a ton of questions. I tried the Turmeric Latte and loved it. The food is great. Inside the shop is very cute and they have great wifi. You need to try the Almond Croissant and Samosa.

Long wait (15+ mins) for awful microwave food and a coffee.

It’s so cute, the ordering was so easy and the drinks and pastries were great. The person at the front counter was so nice. :3 overall great vibe. My partner and I love going around trying new cafes and I think we’ll be stopping in here more than once.

Amazing that one staff person was waiting on nearly 10 customers, with a positive attitude and not making any errors. The store is very quaint with fun decorations and great coffee options.

Jamie makes the best coffee in town!

Went with some other members of my crochet group on a rainy Sunday and this has been one of my favorite places I’ve visited in Des Moines. The place was cozy and cute with good decor, the employees where nice and got my drink and food pretty quick considering there where only 2 people ( I got a Nepali chi ya, sunrise bliss and a samosa and all where good and under $10 total). Overall a nice little gem if you just want a little snack and drink while relaxing.
