Food is fantastic, especially the lunch buffet. But service and atmosphere are not great.

Absolutely delicious! The family at Mayuri Memphis are top notch, kind and accommodating. The food is always fresh and delicious, kudos to all the chefs in the kitchen. The buffet is versatile. We love the spicy heat of Sambar and Gobi Manchurian, and the creamy, buttery makhani chicken and raita to cool things off. The Tikka Masala, Okra Fry, and Potato Sabji are amazing! They are quick to help in any way, refilling cold water and asking if anything is needed. Absolutely delectable with superb service! Go Mayuri! :) Soooo good! If you want a curry, this is your place!

Showed up 50 minutes before they closed and refused to take my order. They told me that they stop orders after 9 and it was 8:40. I asked the man why he won’t take my order and he said because he is the store owner. I just shrugged my shoulders and left. No point in arguing with someone who doesn’t want my money. Indian palace is 10 times better anyways.

My family picks up from this restaurant frequently. It is fantastic food. Large menu and everything I have tried has been delicious. They have meat and veggie options, spicy and sweet and all the other great flavors! The people are very nice and they are often very quick with getting my order together. It’s very flavorful and consistent, especially from Memphis. We’ve been going here for over a decade, and we will continue to support it as much as we can. I wish other people would come give it a shot!

The lamb curry, butter chicken, potato curry, all of it is fantastic. Friday, Saturday and Sunday they have a lunch buffet so it's a good way to really see what they're all about. It's been a while since I ate their buffet, and I'm waiting to go back. Their recipes are very unique and stand out from other Indian restaurants, a delicious and nice taste —never fails to disappoint!

I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants from Dhaba to 5 star restaurants, but never had this bad of a food in a restaurant. This restaurant fed me rice that was cold and stale. The rice looked like they had just microwaved it straight from the refrigerator. They served the sauce straight out on the containers they use to store in the refrigerator, and the containers looked really dirty. The chicken I ordered was really bad as well. We go to restaurants and spend money in the expectation of good food and friendly service. There were no waiters but it looked like the owner was there, but he did not even smile or speak once except asking what I wanted to order. Would not recommend anyone going to this restaurant. FDA should be informed about this place and how unhygienically they run the business. Is it okay to serve stale rice ?

Wow this was amazing food. Was traveling and ordered a takeout order of goat curry and chicken biryani. Both tasked amazing. Good portion of food. Worth the money.

We got there as soon as they opened on a Saturday night, we were the only ones in the restaurant. The service was excellent. I originally ordered the ginger lamb and the owner let me know that it was kind of spicy. So I asked him what lamb dish he would recommend that wasn't too spicy. He suggested the lamb curry. It was absolutely delicious. The lamb was very tender and the sauce was perfect. My companion had the chicken Tiki kabob, the chicken was also very tender and the sauce was delicious. The vegetable samosas were flaky and delicious as well. We loved the garlic naan bread and papadam that was served with the meal, as well as the variety of sauces included with our entree. You get a lot of food for your money and all of it was very tasty. This is a 45 minute drive for me but I will definitely be back soon.

Believe me! being a South Indian it has the best native taste u can never have anywhere in the United states.

Good food but man they really need to get their AC serviced. Eating Indian food when it's 83 degrees inside is not pleasurable and probably not sanitary in the kitchen.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Mayuri Indian Cuisine in Memphis, and I must say it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Now, let's talk about the food. It was nothing short of a disaster. The menu boasted a variety of Indian dishes, but the execution was far from satisfactory. The appetizers were greasy and lacked flavor. The main courses were bland and lacked the authentic Indian spices and flavors that one would expect. The portions were also disappointingly small, leaving us feeling unsatisfied and hungry. To make matters worse, the prices at Mayuri Indian Cuisine were exorbitant for the quality of food and service provided. We felt like we were being ripped off for the subpar experience we had. Overall, I would strongly advise against dining at Mayuri Indian Cuisine in Memphis. The lackluster ambiance, terrible service, and subpar food make it a complete waste of time and money. Save yourself the disappointment and find a better Indian restaurant in the area.

One thing the waitress forget to bring my mango lassi i did order it to accompany my meal 🥭 but disappointing she didn't bring to me when i was eating next someone else is interested trying this location but i will be very specific what I will explain do not assume i want just plain water to drink 😒🙄🤨😠👿3/4 stars it is reviewed.

This is our go-to Indian restaurant in Memphis. We love the paneer masala and the aloo Gobi. The Chile chicken is also good.

Absolutely amazing food. Everything was so flavorful, hot and fresh! We got the first timer special and lamb curry. Our server walked us through what we were eating and delivered excellent service. Highly recommend and will definitely be back to try more things!

This restaurant is clearly the best Indian restaurant in Memphis. The food is SO amazing! My favorites are the Chicken Tikka Masala, Eggplant Curry and Sag Paneer, but I often go with a large group that shares, and every single dish is delicious! The mango lassi is wonderful, and their chutneys are excellent. I lived in India for several years, and I can honestly say I never had food consistently as good as Mayuri’s when I was there. We’re so lucky they are in Memphis!

Food was great I will say that but we arrived at 8:10 and the only thing served to us was water really warm water ..no menus were given I had to get up and ask for some and then I had to go get someone to take our order which was at 9pm I hate to say racist but that’s what I felt when I noticed other Indians who came in and were served water menus and spices to their table while my family had to ask and go get things ourselves .we were never checked on and the older gentleman’s attitude was horrible .Everyone else check was delivered to them I had to get up and ask for ours and get and go pay no one had a nice attitude our server was pretty decent but u can tell he was overwhelmed because he was doing orders pick up orders and trying to serve all at the same time .the stares we received from everyone was crazy as well .I believe this establishment wants to serve only their kind and every other race pick up they do not want us eating their and we were trying to give the benefit of the doubt but as the time went on we noticed how we were treated and when asking questions it’s like they didn’t want to hear anything we had to say or walked with their heads turned so they didn’t have to help or see if we needed anything .We will not be back and if your black do yourself a favor and just stay home because it’s clear how they treat us and it was very wrong

Mayuri Indian Cuisine is an excellent Home style authentic Indian restaurant. We had the ‘First timer specialz’ that included an appetizer, main course, several types of bread (naan, poori etc) and the lamb karai dinner. We meet a couple that has been dining there for 25 years. The restaurant had to stop the buffet during the pandemic. Delightful dining! If you like Indian cuisine you won’t be disappointed!

We ate at this hotel during our stay in Memphis. I ordered a Thali and the food tasted very yummy. We were completely satisfied with the home cooked food taste. Please don’t miss this gem if you visit Memphis and are staying close to this restaurant .

We enjoyed dining at Mayuri Indian Cuisine. We ordered eggplant curry dinner thali and Paneer masala dinner thali. The menu options had unique combo options. The food was authentic. In fact, the eggplant curry was amazing! I highly recommend trying this dish. The service was quick and the staff was very friendly. We will definitely visit again!

What Mayuri may lack in atmosphere, they make up tenfold in flavor and textures. This place transports me to a different plane of existence every time I visit. I get the First Time special every time.. it's a Tour de Mayuri. No buffet since the pandemic, but ordering of the menu is a can't-miss. Go there, and go often. This place is THE BEST. 👍🏻👍🏻

OUTSTANDING, OUTSTANDING, OUTSTANDING!!!!! Indian food at its very best from northern and western India. Ate there 3 times 3 completely different dishes. Get the meal instead of alacart it's only 2 dollars more but we'll worth it!!

This is the worst Indian food I have had in my life. The sambar and rasam was some left over vessel wash. The attitude of the server was rude and arrogant. Please avoid this restaurant at any cost

My wife and I lived in Bengaluru for six months for my work assignment and my eldest sister and her family live in Queens, NY, home to a relatively big number of Indian restaurants, and all of us like Mayuri. Among our favorites: dal makhani, vegetable pakora with eggplant especially, sambar, sag paneer....

Family run, very personable. Great food served with love. Must try. Visit them or order online. They never disappoint you. Always accommodating your palates choices.

Some restaurants are to visited only for certain items, this might be one of the restaurants where you go only for the lunch thali. The mutter paneer is absolutely the best. The naan is ofcourse not healthy with so much maida (all purpose flour) but the texture is amazing. The chole as a side dish is amazing. Kheer (Sweet Dish) is okayish.

Last time i went was 10 years before.. food was really bad. I went after 10 years and the food sucked even more. Stale Chicken, Tasteless curries. I will give it another 10 years before going here again.

Today was my first time trying Indian food and I am glad I did! My date helped my navigate the menu. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala dinner. It was amazing! So was the vegetable samoosa. The Mango Lassi/Smoothie was delicious as well. I could see myself coming back here. We would have taken photos but the food was really yummy and we were really hungry 🤤 The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. The waiter we had was very accommodating and kind.

Worst Indian food I ever had! The reviews are definitely fudged and incorrect. We drove from out of state and was looking forward to eat here. The condition inside the restaurant has deteriorated, no servers, and poor lighting. Our order was messed up and the gentleman in the front though nice gave us food we never ordered and billed us for it. I think this is their strategy to make more money. We ordered 2 Thalis there was no vegetable side dish only 2 types of watery dal. The rice was poor quality and stuck together like cake. It was so mushy and was definitely made in a rice cooker or something.We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat it. The biryani was turmeric rice (again lumpy) with Walmart $1 frozen vegetables thrown in. The front desk guy was upset we didn’t eat anything but definitely charged us $90! The little we ate gave us all stomach cramps. Not worth it

A gem in middle of Memphis. We were on our road trip and we were in search of something special from Indian cuisine. And Bingo !!!! Delicious south Indian delicacy along with North Indian curries. So so reasonable charges with Large portions. The owners and staffs were extra ordinary and so friendly. This will be my must visit restaurant when ever I am in Memphis. Guys give it a try. Dont miss it. To the Management and staff : Great job and Keep it up

Have been here about once a week for the last year. Can’t recommend it enough. Best food in Memphis, in my opinion. The food has complex flavor profiles and always delicious. The Tahli dinner has so much food, easily split between 2 people. The service is slightly limited by language barriers but the owner/server is always accurate when answering dietary/allergy questions and always accommodating. Looking forward to many more meals here.

I’ve eaten here quite a few times and had the family carry out as well every time I have been extremely pleased with the customer service and the excellent taste. Chicken 65 is my favorite!

Biryani is basically meat rice --- no separate masala like a traditional biryani..and raita is just curd!

Oh my goodness!! Everything was delicious! Tandoori mixed grill was awesome. The chicken tikka masala tasted more like butter chicken but it was good. The first timer dish (samples of several things) was good. The veggie samosas were great. Loved the mango shake. The rice was perfect. Planning to return soon.

I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for about 20 years. Way back to their days on Union Ave. I have taken dozens of people here over the years. But that will never happen again. During a recent visit me and my party were treated so badly that we will never eat here again. The man taking our orders showed great apathy and very poor communication skills. He was very indifferent to us. This particular Mayuri waiter is terrible! Not someone you want to encounter! I DO NOT RECOMMEND MAYURI.

Very good South Indian food; we especially liked the vada and sambar. Masala dosa was huge and perfectly cooked; accompanying sauces were also great. Generous amount of curry leaves in the dal. They also have Northern Indian typical dishes. The lamb kadai was tender and so was the tandoori chicken. We appreciated the option to order entrees Ala Carte or as a full thali dinner. Owner brought the food out to the car which was very appreciated; even called to verify my order in advance. We'll definitely order from here again.

We ordered food to cater for marriage engagement. Food is really good. We got appetizers Mirchi bajji is best, Gulab jamun was awesome it is so soft. Curries were good. Vegetable fried rice and corn Manchuria were ok decent. Sambar was fantastic I never tasted like that before.

In my opinion, they have the best dosa masala in town so far.

Be prepared for heat. Even though you ask for mild, their sauces definitely have a kick. Currently curbside service only. You cannot get inside of the store. Pull up and call. They bring your order out, take your card or cash, and then go in to ring up the order before returning your stuff. The lamb korma is awesome.

Best Indian food, hands down! Krishna and his family run a wonderful restaurant. Mayuri has a huge menu and the buffet has much more to choose from than other local restaurants. It's stocked with makhani butter chicken, tikka masala on the weekends, bhajis, basmati, rice curd, chana masala, okra fry, potato sabjis, naan, raita and an assortment of chutneys. All of these and more are also available a la carte. The family has always been friendly and even were kind enough to bring our to-go order out and place it in our vehicle for us this week. We have tried the other Indian restaurants in Memphis, but Mayuri is simply the best with the most to offer! We've never seen so much food on a buffet :) Portions are extremely generous and affordable. We've ordered takeaway a few times a month and it is always fresh and delicious. Thanks Mayuri!

The food was very good. For the average American though, the buffet might be a good bit to hot. I would recommend taking it slow and sampling things first before you get a full plate of something. There were what looked like meatless options available.

Good buffet. Also when I ordered from menu they got the heat level right. Chicken tikka masala was good from menu. They may want to switch the quality of their rice but that is the only possible negative I have. Overall they get a 3, and I'm comparing them to places I've eaten across the U.S.

Like the music here. It's different and soothing compared to other Indian eateries. Buffet has some south indian items. My only concern is that the batter they use tastes like store bought. Other than that overall a great place for buffet

Stopped by for dinner at a very late hour. The restaurant closes at 9:30, while we entered at 9:10 pm! There was nobody except us. However they treated us nicely. We ordered tea and dosa for the dinner. They gave some complimentary papad to start. Not to mention the papads were cold and smelled oily. The chutney was good. The dosa ( masala) was freshly made and hot. However nothing extra ordinary. Pretty ordinary and decent one. The sambar was good and they will refill if you need more. We ordered a cup of tea also. That was actually very good with a descent small of green cardamom. I could not take photos because my phone battery was dead! :(

It's just like any other indian restaurant. The food feels sometimes feels like it's straight from the fridge and had been reheated. I've seen that mostly during buffets with Idli. The good thing about this restaurant is the food has a native touch to it. I loved the dry banana pulav, reminded me the good old memories from my childhood.

Visité a Mayuri con mi familia el fin de semana pasado para el cumpleaños de mi suegra antes de un concierto en el Germantown Performing Arts Center (GPAC). Pensé que era una muy buena comida. Comimos el chili paneer (bueno), chana masala (bueno), pollo biryani (bueno) y camarones tandoori (para mí, los camarones se carbonizaron demasiado en la fajita, como la sartén, lo que condujo a camarones muy cocidos y quemados; no no disfrutes este plato en absoluto). El servicio fue bueno. El restaurante es tradicional y muy informal. Tenían un buffet cuando estuvimos allí (almuerzan buffet los 7 días de la semana y cenan los viernes y sábados), pero no estábamos seguros de que tuviéramos suficiente hambre como para que valiera la pena. I thought the for was delicious. Went here for supper with my mom and had the buffet. There was a huge variety: dosas, curries, idli, soup, etc. I like that it was a little spicier than other Indian food I've had. Tasted more authentic.
