Great tasting, traditional menu

I was a little taken back when i ordered a glass of wine and the server asked me if i was pregnant? and nearly refused to serve me a glass of wine. I knew I had a bit of flab but I never knew my gut was that big. I will now be doing crunches for the rest of my life. The food and atmosphere were good.

Could do better with the food. The drinks were so good. Love the ambiance of the place.

The sushi is consistently good, carryout is easy to pick up (15 minutesor less), and the staff is very friendly. Try it!

I come to Meadow all the time for lunch as it’s my favorite restaurant in the area! The food is delicious and everyone is sooo friendly every time we come. The best!!!

Phenomenal tasting food! I am a connoisseur of sashimi, as I’ve ordered it at Sushi restaurans all over the country. I ordered the Sashimi lunch special here, and I can honestly say its some of the freshest and best tasting sashimi I’ve ever tried. I took my sweet time enjoying it so I could savor every bite. Seriously, it tasted like they fished it out of the ocean 30 minutes before serving it to me. Highly recommend!

Living in the Danbury Connecticut area for the last 10 years.This area is fairly new to me.Very grateful for friends who introduce me to this fine cuisine.Do yourself a favor do not get Asian food from any other location, other than this one. You're welcome.

Meadow has been around for a while and I've been there (and had take-out) maybe 100 times over the years. It's always good. The atmosphere at the restaurant is relaxing and upscale. Service is always good, and the staff is very nice. Food is always very good. My favorites are Chicken with Garlic Sauce, and Chicken Lo Mein. We're lucky to have a great restaurant like Meadow in Simsbury.

We always love our dinners here. Inside or outside the atmosphere is perfect and the food is consistently delicious. And bonus we love supporting such a wonderful local small business. .

This is our regular date night restaurant. Fantastic drinks, sushi and service. We always ask for whatever the special roll is and then order a bunch of different rolls. They have excellent martinis and Japanese sodas for the non-drinkers or kids. Highly recommended!

We always sit in the bar area....its small and a little busy with all the to go pick ups but the service is always good and the food never disappoints. Sushi always seems fresh and the waiters are polite and friendly.

First off this place is my father's fav restaurant in Simsbury hands down. NGL, the food is delish! I usually get sushi with my wife but this night i tried the imperial palace (shrimp, scallops and steamed broccoli) and I was very satisfied. It cost way less than the sushi i would have ordered. They have great food. Ask for Maggie, she's very attentive and has good suggestions.

Meadow is my favorite sushi spot in Simsbury. The lunch specials are consistently excellent, quickly prepared, and a great value. My kids also love the Beef with Broccoli and Kung Pao chicken.

The food here is great. I especially love the black pepper beef.

They lied when they said they are the original owners and when they say they don't charge extra for using a credit card. They add the charge into the total when the bill is totaled so you don't know they are doing it. They are charging extra for using a credit card, which is against Connecticut law. Check your bill before you pay. They ask when you order carryout so they can add the surcharge.

Authentic Chinese food and clean environment. Nice staff and good sushi

How would this Carly Weber person know someone else is over their credit limit unless restaurant staff told her, or she works for the business. She is implicating the restaurant in questionable behavior. Restaurant management did not reply to her review denying or asking her to retract the statement.

Apparently restaurant owners are sharing confidential customer information with other customers, according to a previous reviewer. Unethical business practice. Telling a customer that another is over their credit limit is, and is information that should not be discussed with others. C. Weber stated this in a previous review.

Ate lunch here with family. Plenty of well priced options for everyone and all was delicious! Dining area was clean and aesthetically pleasing and staff were kind and efficient.

Stop in for a family meal, so tried the orange chicken, General Tao’s chicken, sweet & sour chicken, and call it chicken on a stick with peanut sauce because I can’t remember the real name. All the food was excellent, but the orange chicken really stood out. Will return so recommend it to try!

The food is consistently fresh, delicious, and affordable. I find myself ordering take-out from Meadow more than any restaurant in Simsbury or Avon.

This place has great food! We like their noodle dishes and tempura. Not only is it nice to get dinner there, but the take out is great too. They have a generous portion sizes. My mom says they have comfortable chairs. They have nice mixed drinks. It's really clean, and the bathrooms are nice. Also they sometimes have chocolate fortune cookies!

When their sushi is on, it's the best. When it is off... Ouch. Been going here for years. I used to rank this as the #1 Sushi restaurant in Connecticut. Now it depends on the day. The atmosphere is fantastic. The wait staff is decent. Jimmy was the shining star for wait staff, but he has not been around for a while.

Since under new ownership the food is not what it was. It’s mediocre at best. To make matters worse when I asked about new owners they lied and said it wasn’t sold. I later confirmed that it was. I will not be returning.

Been eating sushi from Meadow for a for weeks now. Some sushi places’ quality can oscillate between good and poor, which over time turns me off, but Meadow’s food is either great, or insanely great. Tonight’s was the best I’ve had from any sushi restaurant (and that’s saying a lot!). Thank you and congrats on your consistently high standards!

Sushi and maki are great, kind of high price point. Other food is also excellent, though this restaurant is more expensive than the common spend according to Google. Takeout was thoughtfully packed, and my stop-in to the restaurant was that of a good date spot; clean with good ambience. Will be back for special occasions

What can I say about this place? They have good food, and good service. Located conveniently on the only road to town, one can't help but to marval at the location and ponder the mysteries of life? Like what happens if you put butter on a cat's back? Will it still be unable to dance the Macarena? Also, how scary would a ten foot duck be? Anyways, those are just a couple of questions that you won't be able to answer here.

Best Chinese restaurant in the areas hangs down!

Solid Asian Restaurant We've been going for 3 years ever since we moved to the area and we've never been disappointed. Have ordered pretty much everything from the menu, from the sushi to the Thai dishes and it's all been passable or excellent.

Great place. Only lost a star for being out of a few things. Understandable though.

Don't let the outward appearance fool you. Good food (not cookie-cutter Chinese). Thai food offerings very good. Lunch specials are affordable, dinner is a linen tablecloth type experience. Bento box popular among my friends

We haven’t been here for a while. Dinner was great. We started with the lettuce leaves with shrimp. I ordered orange beef and my wife ordered a chicken dish. Both were very good.

Very varied Asian food and it was very good . I had Tom Yum soup which was the best I ever had . The other dishes were excellent and quite different than the usual . There was enough to have some take away for a snack at home .

This is an attractively stylish restaurant. We went for lunch at the small sushi bar. Everything was very friendly...lots of time was spent getting Wimbledon on the telly. We has delicious eel, chicken wraps were a delight and the scallops were tasty and expensive. We had a nice bottle of wine as well. Everything is perfect until the bill comes. The wine is not the $28 we expected, but $44. Because we were looking at the wrong menu (on our phone) that the barmaid told us to use! "Oh, no...that's for takeout only" What? From previous reviews I see that they seem to have problems with customers. If you go for the great sushi i would recommend checking every price with the waiter or else you might get screwed.

Very good food and definitely worth a return visit, even though I was a bit disappointed with my meal. Restaurants that serve multiple cuisines are usually a flashing yellow light for me but they execute different styles of Asian food well. Why didn't I like my entree? Well, I love noodles - rice noodles, egg noodles, glass noodles, sweet potato noodles - if they're slippery and stretchy they're delicious to me. So I ordered the Shanghai noodles. They were described as "thin vermicelli." When I got them, though, they were crispy! To me this is like making risotto with puffed rice. I was deprived of the pleasure of slurping stretchy noodles and instead got these hard, crunchy deep fried things. That was a big disappointment and THEIR mistake since nowhere in the description was "crunchy" or "crispy" mentioned. Still, the non-noodle portion of my dish was good and so was everything else we ordered (except the lemonade - I should have just had seltzer with lemon), so I'll be back.

One word... Delicious. Too much ice for the drinks but still tasty for the 2 sips worth. So next time no ice period. The wait was a bit more than desired for being empty. Had the Kobe Roll. So guess it had to be special...

been there before a few times. last time made reservation, but host was surprised. We got seated and did not get any attention from anyone for good 20-25 minute. We did not rush anywhere and I asked about at least water and menu someone(I'm guessing owner) came very angry and ask us to leave if we don't like service. I'm thinking that business is going to well, but I will make sure that I will NOT support this kind of rude behavior. There is a lots of restaurant around which treat customers with respect!

We made reservation for Friday evening at 6 pm and expected to be seated and served with no waiting time . After waiting for 25 minutes we ask if we can get water ,because they forgot about us. Instead of apologizing, someone we guess was owner, with anger in voice ask us to leave if we don't like it. This so unacceptable and so rude!!!! Never again come to this place

Always wanted to try this Asian restaurant but very sorry that I did. I am a disabled VietNam veteran with a severe service connected hearing disability. I arrived and was promptly seated and waitress pointed to some squares on the table one for food, one for drinks. I did not have a phone so she offered to bring a menu. The manager immediately called to me from across the room and through his mask made some comment which I did not understand through his mask. I pointed to my ears and said clearly "I cannot hear you" pointing to me ears. He said loudly, I should leave since he did not want my business. I gladly left. Clear violation of American with Disability Act.

It's a fairly small restaurant, but I was very happy with the food. I'm only in town for a few days and I always try to eat at local restaurants. I LOVE sushi and Asian cuisine, so I decided to try the bento box (#1) for lunch. The miso soup was delicious, the salad was good, the teriyaki chicken was great and I loved the fried dumplings. I could have had a plate of those dumplings and been happy. The bento box also had a few California rolls which I enjoyed. I would recommend this as a place to try if you're in town.

Great food, friendly service, and consistently high overall quality. I have been going to Meadow pretty much since they opened and have always been treated extremely well there, even before I was someone they recognized as a maybe not regular but frequent customer. Sam the owner is there more often than not and has a very high standard for cleanliness and quality. Meadow is by far my favorite sushi spot around and definitely one of my top local favorites overall.

Sushi, sashimi, maki, makes no difference. THE most consistent preparation anywhere.

Excellent sushi! We had the kobe beef as well as the angry dragon and loved them both.

We decided to do takeout rather eat there. Food was ready on time. Orange beef and sesame chicken both excellent.

Delicious appetizers and sushi!

The food was wonderful, but the service was terrible. Not the waiter’s fault but the fault of management. They were prioritizing take out customers. So we waited and waited while the steady flow of take out customers came and went (some had power failure so there were a lot of them). The customers at tables waited and waited. Disappointed.

Always a wonderful meal. Sam and his staff are top notch. They have raised the bar on sushi and Asian cuisine in the the valley. Fresh, inventive and beautifully plated sashimi, sushi and maki. Interior is modern and relaxing. This is our go to place for sushi in an intimate setting.

Great Food, large portions ,and great service ( shout out to Jimmy) made the evening really good. Everyone in our party had dishes that they commented that they really liked their selections. We even went back for lunch another day and was equally as good. If you are in the area and like Sushi-Chinese this place is a must !!!

Great food, great service, good menu, excellent value. A cut above the average Asian restaurant - it is sophisticated but the price rivals hole-in-the-wall alternatives. We will come again and again. The picture shows their Massaman curry, which we consider the best we’ve had.

Love this place! My husband and I have been going here for our anniversary dinner for at least six years now. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The salt and pepper scallops are to die for and their description on the menu does not do them justice. When they have the ginger lobster my husband is over the moon excited. Just delightful overall.

We had excellent service by Maggie. The food here is good. We tried the fried oysters. They were okay but not the best we’ve ever had. The crispy lettuce app is very good. Orange beef was terrific. The special chicken/shrimp/scallops and noodles was also excellent. And the menu has other things that aren’t Chinese food. Good spot.
