As a Chinese food aficionado I was really excited to have a Chow Mein Sandwich from Mee Sum. Regina the owner made me feel like I was at my grandmother's on a Sunday. She came around and asked if I wanted more sauce for my sandwich. She took the time to explain the history and Fall River's role in Chow Mein. Her restaurant has been named as one of the top 25 in the country! They offer other Chinese dishes but the Chow Mein Sandwiches are where it's at! Get them while you can!

Had this place popped up on my FB, and I had to come try their chow mein sandwich. Everything I've heard and read was true. I also had a small order of the beef teriyaki. That had to be, in MY opinion, some of the best I've ever had. I even got a small order to go for my 35 min ride back home. I was met and seated by the owner. She was genuinely a very sweet lady, and she checked on me and made sure everything was fine. The only other interaction I had was with one other female employee/server, and she was fantastic. It's definitely worth a stop in ( which I will do again soon). Oh, and just an fyi, it was cash only when I got there and read it on the door, not sure if that's an all the time thing, but maybe check their page or give a call .)

We come from Middletown,RI at least once every two weeks; their food is very homemade tasting; we get the chicken and broccoli and chicken fried rice it has a fresh homemade delicious taste; the owners are the sweetest! We love their food! Chow mein is also very delicious!

We have been going to this restaurant for many years, and we have always had a pleasurable experience here. The food is great and we have never been disappointed. Try it out.

Went in for take out. Haven't been there for some time. We were surprised how good the food tasted. The wait staff were polite and pleasant. Definitely heading back soon.

Did a pick up of a chow mein . Was not pleased with it . Looked nothing like it picture and didn’t taste good either .

You can't get better Chinese food than at Mee Sums! This is by far our favorite Chinese restaurant! Mariah is a super-friendly, fun, smart, and efficient server. The owner and staff are always smiling. Prices are unbelievable (low). Their beef/pork fried rice can't be matched. If you want great, "traditional" Chinese food, this is the place. STRONGLY recommend.

Your food is the best!!! I have been coming to your restaurant since I was 1year old, I am now 51! I now live in Florida and I was telling my Husband how much my Family has enjoyed your food! I am so excited to see that you're still open!! I actually had 4 of my birthday parties at your restaurant when I was little! When I'm able to make a road trip home, I will absolutely make you a stop!

The server was fantastic and friendly. The food was plentiful hot and delicious. Parking was almost non-existent but we found a space across the street. Altogether a good experience

You need to come here for authentic chow mein. The owner Regina was so nice and gave us the history of the chow mein. She was so welcoming and truly appreciated our business. Make sure you bring cash tho because they are cash only.

This place has been around since I was a child just that alone should say A lot. Either dining in or out you can’t go wrong. You are always greeted when you come in usually by the owner who is such a nice lady. So no matter what you may like from the chow mein sandwich to even The Po Po platter everything is amazing. The only problem with them is that they are closed on Sundays and mondays but other than that it’s amazing! Dinning in is quiet with a good atmosphere with a warm and friendly experience.

A truly fun and laid back vibe with friendly staff and owners. Very hospitable with excellent food. They'll do Vegan choices too so no one is left out.

This was a road trip visit from a story on a local news station. It was a nice way to spend a few hours with family that afternoon. Parking was difficult to find during our visit. Mee Sum is not a big place but has a very good variety of food. The owner and staff are wonderful and take the time to help you with any questions with a real smile. The quantity and quality is good. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

My family and I visited Mee Sum Saturday around 4pm. We are here from Fla as we do every summer we were born and raised in Fall River. We have been to Mee Sum before and the food was always good but yesterday It was the worse Chinese meal I and my family ever had. We only had Chicken Chow mein for my wife and myself. My daughter had Chicken wings and fried rice. It was the worse. We had to put duck sauce on the chicken to get flavor with the Chow Mein and for my daughters meal she ate half and we took the rest. My wife just told me to it throw it out. She couldn't eat it. Sorry MeeSum but it was terrible. We did tell the waitress that it was not good.

This was a different experience. I never thought I was going to eat chow mein as a sandwich. However, I have to say that it was really nice. A good meal to have it once in a while. I ordered the "Pork subgum chow mein sandwich" because I like vegetables. Honestly, I would have preferred it with more vegetables and a bit less of noodles. But well that is my point of view.

My first time trying the famous chow mein sandwich, which lived up to the hype and was even more tasty than I expected. Love the very old school decor and vibe of the place, and the woman who owns it is a total sweetheart who obviously takes a lot of pride in her work.

The best fall river chow mein. It was so good and the price was good too. The staff was fantastic.

Very interesting Chinese American cuisine, far different than what I had on the west coast but as an experience although it is a must try. Regina and her team were so inviting and so nice! They have their regulars but recognize new faces and they treated me and my wife with such hospitality and you really get the small family run restaurant feel here! The food is also tasty and is really a sample of the microculture they've created in Fall River, MA. Go check it out (and bring cash as it is cash only)!

Mee Sum is a good place for Chinese food. They've been there forever. I was disappointed that they stop serving alcohol. I really went there for a scorpion bowl with my girl.

Well - folks come from around the world (much TV and print coverage) to try this unique, very localized cuisine - namely chow mein. So as new RI residents - we did likewise. Clean but a bit dated. Friendly and efficient staffing. A LOT of regulars and take out. We started with the fried wontons - large, well stuffed, and you must be a fan of deep fried. You do need the duck sauce for dipping. I had the shrimp chow mein (not the sandwich) which came with rice AND french fries (if you are not famished I would recommend just asking them to only serve one side). The noodles are the key and then covered with a brown gravy, veggies, and mini shrimp. Tasty and filling. My companion had a more traditional Chinese dish - ho you gai poo - that was huge (took half home) and the clear winner. Damages with tip was $40 - cash only. So if you are hungry and seeking a tasty and quick meal - give them a try.

Got suckered in to ordering 2 large chow mein sandwiches that were TERRIBLE. They had to be sitting in the back already made. A soggy mess. almost 11 dollars wasted. The girl who took the order was back out of the kitchen with the finished product in less then a minute. I will never go there again. Yr's ago it use to cost 25 cents for a chow mein sandwich. The only reason I went there was to help the rehab for Saint Annes Church but Mee Sum is using that as an excuse to take you to the cleaners . Ate a small portion of one then threw them both in the trash. Nothing but a Soggy Mess.

Having been born & raised in Fall River, my family always ate this type of Chow Mein. Now whenever I return, my visit is not complete without a visit to Mee Sum. The food here is just as delicious as it was when I was growing up. The service is great & the people who work here are so welcoming. They are the friendliest you could ever hope to find. Thanks for the great chicken chow mein & bringing my memories back to life!
