Waited over 45 minutes for torta de lengua, the bread was old and hard. Sometimes the food is really good but , there is no consistency at this place.

The lady's struggled with English. I asked for shredded beef and received steak tacos instead. The rice was good. They used black beans for the beans which threw me off.

Food is absolutely delicious. I eat there at least once a week. Would eat there more but it can get expensive plus I need to lose some weight. Best Mexican restaurant I’ve eaten at, and I spent 3 years in Cali. Please try you won’t be disappointed.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem with killer authentic Mexican food. The folks there are super kind and humble—feels like they might all be family because of the awesome vibe. Definitely recommend this place, and I hardly ever leave reviews.

These people are frauds! On cinco de mayo, I ordered from the UberEats app and they took 2 hours to not deliver my food, issue me a refund or cancel my order. Every time I called them, they gave me the run around saying they were gonna cancel it but when I call them again they’ll tell me their delivery driver is 10 mins away. How did 10 minutes turn into 2 whole HOURS? I had to call Uber Support and they’re saying the same thing to them. I told Uber Support it’s been 2 whole hours and they won’t cancel it. So you know what La Guerra did to be sneaky? Cancelled my order and didn’t send me a refund, their response was “My order was already prepared and sent out”. La Guerra’s rep told me the reason it might’ve been late is because of Cinco and that they don’t want to add Uber Eats Drivers instead they’d rather have 1 delivery driver. It’s sound pretty money hungry to me and the fact that they do this, you can’t track your order down on the apps either. However I had ordered from somewhere else the same day and recieved my food in under 20 mins!!! Order else where but here, they are some money hungry thieves! YOU WOULDVE THOUGHT IN 2 HRS IT WOULD BE OUTSIDE MY DOOR? NOT A DAMN THING WAS OUT THERE, NOT EVEN A NAPKIN! JUST WRONG AND CONNIVING! Then La Guerra had the nerve to tell me if their delivery driver comes to drop off the food, tell them I don’t want it and AGAIN THEY NEVER CAME! They’re just straight weird.

One of most favorite places!!! The Deluxe Tacos are the best! The grilled whole jalapeños, cactus, and green onions are always perfect! I always add a side of consommé! Authentic and the staff are very friendly!

ZERO STARS. i ordered nachos for delivery. apparently they didn’t have ground beef so they didn’t make my order, when all they had to do was give me a different kind of meat. i never got my order and they refused to give me a refund. I PAID FOR MY ORDER AND NEVER GOT IT. how is that legal??

I ate there, but the truth is that the owner, I think, is very rude to his employees and lacks more hygiene and the worst thing is that they smoke and that's how they cook, they seem very filthy to me.

Last night, I called and placed an order for pick up. I asked the sweet lady on the phone if chips and guacamole came with the entree I chose. She said no. When I got home, there was a small portion of it in my container with my quesadilla. I was so happy and just overall pleased that she remembered and took an extra step to accommodate my wishes. Not only this time, but every time. Their elote corn is to die for! Thank you so much what you guys do and keep up the great work!

The food is tasty and good but the customer service is POOR. I called in an order and they said 15 minutes. 30 minutes later and my food is still not ready. They did not offer an apology nor did they seem remorseful. I truly hate when people waste my time and have no consideration for costumers. Will not be returning.

This is my favorite place to eating Mexican food. The owners are very kind and the food is authentic and delicious. I recommend the molcajete. It's the best salsa verde you will ever have.

i had the worst customer experience ever here! i would give -5 star if i can. so i walked in and ordered and i said i will be back in 20 mins to pick it up. i came back 20 mins later to pick it up and asked if my food is ready. and the guy worker at the counter gave me an attitude stare and just said ‘can you give me a sec’ with 100% attitude stare! i just waited and of course the guy was never gonna help me and he turned his back on me doing something else. another worker prob felt bad for me and helped me with my order and actually my food was right at the counter the whole time right in front of me and i was just waiting there for 15 mins standing there for nothing! the worst experience ever! i would never go back to this place! there are other good mexican restaurants in upper darby. please go somewhere else

I walked in and the place smelled delicious. I had the Angus beef quesadilla. The food is made in front of you. I love the little bar table and stools. The server was a little flustered and it was not packed in there. I feel like most people do take outs here. Regardless of that I will definitely be coming back, and I live in Virginia 😂😂

Beware of what you eat at this place. The food is good. However, I ordered a bacon wrapped burrito and something small and hard was in it (probably a bone, don't really know because I swallowed it after dislodging). As soon as I bit into the burrito and started to chew the object cracked my molar in half! Painful! I literally felt it go into my tooth and heard the crack. Now I have to get it pulled next week. La Guerra cost me a perfectly fine tooth.

I had takeout but when I was waiting for my order I was checking out the restaurant and the atmosphere and I saw that I would definitely love to come back and dine in When I got back to work with my order I was pleasantly impressed by the quality taste and presentation of my meal I am going to be a long time customer from here on out ❤️❤️❤️

This Restaurant Used To Be My Go To For Authentic Mexican Food. They Change Staff So Often Which In Turn Changes The Food Quality. The Food Used To Be Finger Lickin. Now It’s Just Decent. Steak Quesadillas Gristled Up Can’t Really Eat It Without Spitting Out Gristle. The Chicken Burrito Is Good. It’s Supposed To Be Sold With A Side Of Guacamole, But If You Don’t Ask They Give You A Burrito With A Side Of Chopped Onions, Tomato’s, Cilantro With Chips & Still Charge You The Same Price. Which Is A Rip Off. So Be Sure To Ask If They Have Guacamole Before Ordering A Burrito Or Else You’ll End Up With What I Stated Above. In Closing The Food Is Worth A Try. Hell Maybe Even A Few Tries.

This the best Mexican food I have ever had in the area and I am including Philadelphia.

The food was amazing. I purchased the shrimp nachos, the fish tacos, and the Barrias tacos. All the food was cooked perfectly, and filling. The service was fast, and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this place to all who like a taste of authentic Mexican cuisine. I will definitely return to this restaurant.

Rude unprofessional there is no way I order food wait 30 minutes just to get there and be told they’re out of what I ordered. I now had to wait another 20 minutes for something different. I pay the girl and hand her the money, she then proceeds to purposely put my change down on the counter. I have my hand out I hand you something you hand it back. Not be purposely disrespectful. It’s no way I had to wait almost a hour for basic tacos. And the substitution was cheaper and still charged me the same price as the original order. Disrespectful unprofessional WILL NOT BE RETURNING

La verdad estoy muy decepcionada.pedí comida en este lugar hice mi pedido desde las 9:00 de la noche y me llego a las 11 de la noche cuando me dijeron que llegaba en 50 minutos estuve llamando varias veces y decía que iba en camino cuando era mentira. 😡 La comida aparte de llegarme a las 11 de la noche me llego súper súper fría y hasta con pelos en los tacos. Eso me parece de muy mal gusto.

I love the food so this review is not about that. I ordered from here on Cinco de Mayo. And they gave my food away they did ask to remake my food on the spot but gave me the wrong order and refuse to refund me any money. I paid for shrimp and salmon and received chicken. I will need to find a new place to get food bc. Even how they handled this was not customer service and I send 75.

Small restaurant but worth it on the food.

So I ordered the Mexican Quesabirria and I must say it was delicious. I highly recommend this dish. The portion is great, as well as the Consome!! The pico & chips were fresh and tasty as well. It’s also, this dark orange sauce that they have and it’s so good (it’s a spicy sauce). The reason for the 4 stars is because it said you get 3 and I received 2. The delivery guy dropped my food off next door instead of waiting for me to literally come to the door.

While shopping on 69th st, I walked by and it smelled so good. My family and I went in there to eat. I dealt with two waitresses, the taller one was extremely rude, short and impatient with me, as I didn’t know what to order.. while the other was so cool and showing me the breads and recommending what she liked. So I didn’t let one rude person affect my opinion bc the food was so great. (This place is so small and crowded), so I told my best friend how good the tacos were. He called and ordered to pick it up. He could tell the person on the phone didn’t really know what she was doing, but he was patient with her. When he got there, they said they had no knowledge of his order! (He ordered a good amount of food and drove 20 minutes to get it). He honestly felt they were being racist toward him. This is my friend of 15 years who I’ve never heard him say he had a racist experience.. seriously..) so for that reason, I’d never support this place again, and I wish I never told my friend to go there!!

The Tacos Birria are good so much flavor and I love their Horchata drink.

Everything here hits on a 1000 an the people that work here are very welcoming haven't had a bad dish here yet plus I like the tamarind soda and the homemade mix fajitas on a 1000 too

I've been eating at this restaurant for the last 4 years. Never a problem, always pleasant people. Well tonight, totally different! I ordered food through door dash, I received someone else's order. I called the restaurant, a younger guy answered the phone and was very rude and unpleasant and no help whatsoever. I got frustrated and went off on him because he genuinely thought that this situation was funny that I am out of food and money. I asked him if they could call door dash to fix the problem he told me that he couldn't which isn't true. He kept telling me he couldn't find my name in the system which made 0 sense being as though I had just spoke to someone on the phone asking if they could make sure my sour cream was in the bag and he pulled my order right up and I have the order on my phone screen. They've just loss a customer for good.

We were a party of four here on a weekday afternoon for a late lunch. The restaurant was mostly empty. It was staffed by a woman who answered the phone, took everyone’s orders and brought the food out, etc., and a couple of cooks in the kitchen. The woman quickly cleaned a table for us and brought the menus out as well as chips and a couple of in-house salsas: one green (tomatillos and cilantro) and one orange (habanero based). The chips and the salsas were phenomenally good — at the end of our lunch, we bought a few small containers of these salsas to take home. There are lots of food options and some are very authentic. For instance, ever since I had gorditas on the streets of Mexico, I have been pining for some but mostly out of luck. This place had gorditas!!! The food was all freshly prepared and it was awesome. Very reasonably priced too. Only one out of four of us was able to finish what we ordered. The vegetarian in our party was supremely happy. For drinks you can help yourself out of their cooler that contains bottled drinks, some directly from Mexico. I would give this place five stars except for the lack of ambience. The service and the food were both excellent. While we were eating, a bunch of locals wafted in and out of the restaurant. Most spoke in spanish with the hostess, so they get a lot of business from local Mexicans, which is a really good sign. As we left the restaurant, all of us resolved to visit here again.

I purchased Barria tacos and they were horrible, no seasoning , no cheese in the tacos ,barely any sauce & they were $19 when everywhere else is only $14.

This place is a hidden gem. I would say that this is the best Mexican restaurant in the area for sure. The food was beyond amazing and I tried cactus for the first time. The vegetables were fresh, the rice was cooked to perfection, the beans well seasoned, the meats were juicy and plentiful. I could not give this restaurant a more glowing review. And on top of everything, the staff was so joyful, they clearly love their job and it shows. Was to go La Guerra!!!!

When the old female spanish girl was running things it was great. Now this new team of workers are disrespectful, liars, and they're sneaky. I always lead with respect but the moment you disrespect me, dont dictate how i react. Also while you're here in America, remember the actual people that Oppressed you and called you aliens, it wasnt melanin people! I will not deal with this type of Peasantry.

Food was flavorful and nice portions. I got the La Guera seafood platter (shrimp,tilapia,salmon) I ate the shrimp before I took the photo but under it is fluffy rice and a side salad with avocado. Plus elote corn which is my all time favorite. Now....It wasn't hot. I had to heat it up and the beans smelled suspect but I would order again, this is my first time via grub hub, I will dine in next time.

If you are looking for a authentic, family owned type atmosphere this is the place.. And the BEST part is, the food is phenomenal!! We've eaten here 4 or 5 times now, and each time it seems to get better . The staff is super friendly too which makes it even better!

Absolutely perfect!! Flavors were on point, birria broth was unbelievable, a little spice, great afternotes of the citrus & tomato & cinnamon. The flautas were the best I’ve had outside of Mexico, the elite was great & the salsas were all super fresh and delicious. All tacos, carnitas, Birria, pork, pollo & chorizo were perfectly cooked & the technique was evident & showed prominently in the flavors Trust this place and spend your money here, this is one of the best finds that i have had in a very long time!! Thank you for showcasing classic Mexican street food so well!

As you can see in the most recent reviews…the food is totally bland, if you have taste buds that actually work…you will NOT enjoy this. My friend got deviled shrimp and couldn’t even identify what was on her plate, she hated everything! I got a burrito and it was 2/10, definitely could of made a better burrito at home for cheaper. The staff was friendly, but the food was absolutely despicable. If you want good REAL Mexican food, a place I can recommend is MEXIMAC on macdade blvd ( 902 MacDade Blvd, Folsom,PA ) their Mexican food will not disappoint ( no I am not a sponsor) !!

I normally don’t leave bad reviews but this experience was pretty upsetting. we got this for delivery. one of my family members ordered tres leches cake and we received FUZZY MOLDY carrot cake instead. I added a picture there of what we received. All of that white stuff, is not icing, it’s fuzz. Very disappointing experience and absolutely disgusting. There’s plenty of other Mexican restaurants in the area, I suggest going to one of those instead. The horchatas we received didn’t taste right either. Once we realized the cake had mold, we threw everything out. Save your money and go somewhere else !!! Unless you like your food with a side of extra mold

The portions are generous, which is good because you will want to eat these leftovers.I ordered the shrimp tacos, which I liked. But I loved the carnitas quesadilla. My son ordered the chicken quesadilla and gobbled it up. The steak tacos and beef burrito were also ordered by my kids. Everyone left happy. I also thought the mango juice was good.

While the food is good, sometimes they don’t have guacamole. So, when I called today, I specifically asked whether or not they had guacamole. I actually told her, I only wanted to order if they had guacamole and chips. She said yes we do, do you want a large or small order. I said large. I placed the rest of our order, which included two orders of fajitas which are supposed to come with sliced avocados. She said to give her 30 minutes to prepare the order. We drove to get the order. I waited with the car while my son went inside to get our order. My son came back with the food and said, “no guacamole and chips”. I called and spoke to her and asked her why she told me they had it when they didn’t. She tripped over her tongue. I asked her if she was lying before. She didn’t know what to say. Very disappointing! They did give us salsa for the chips, but no chips.

Had a super fun lunch at this beautiful establishment, rich in culture and taste. I was really looking forward to having a torta, but they were out of the bread. The friendly server recommended the steak, fries, pico de Gallo and rice with avocado, a it was a smashing hit; my partner ordered a beef quesa-birria taco with a hand made tortilla. This place definitely was a great stop in the outskirts of the city; would highly recommend this experience to anyone.

I had the marinated pork taco and a chicken sopes... I was blown away! Seriously the best Mexican food I've ever had. The rice and beans were great as well! They included these two salsas a red and green, the red was my favorite it was so spicy. I'll be visiting again and again. The counter girl was very nice BONUS

Customer beware! This restaurant will take your money via GrubHub and then they will say that they're closed and won't send the delivery but they'll process the money. They are thieves and there was no way to get the money back and the order never came. Hard to believe that in this day and age, people still function this way. Steer clear of this place. Thieves.

They charged me for my full order on a Sunday night. They took the money out of my account. And then they close the restaurant and never sent my order. And I did it through GrubHub and there was no way to get my money back from the restaurant. These are thieves. I am stunned that people would do something like this. Wow.

This place was absolutely amazing. Starting from the customer service to the food. All EXCEPTIONAL service. I came from NYC to Philly to visit some friends. I stopped by this place to eat and they treated us so well! I also brought my service dog and they made us feel at home, that they even offered him water which truly meant so much to me. Thank you for the amazing food and for making us feel so welcome!

It was my first time trying Mexican cuisine and I like the food. I think the extra shrimp was a little over charged ( $5 for five pieces). My favorite was to Pico, it tasted like vinegar. The Pechuga Asada came with rice, chicken, Pico, black beans, soft taco, 2 Avocado wedges, a side of spice, cilantro sauce and fries.

The food was delicious. Our waitress was nice and attentive. Food came out for our party of five at the same time. We'll definitely be returning customers.

I ordered online, said 26-48 minutes to deliver and I live .4 miles away. Delivery fee is $6. No problem and ordered. Waited for an hour and called the store no-one picked up. My card was charged already so went to the store, and ITS CLOSED. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

When it was finally ready i spent another hour there due to their card machine not working and once i got home i was still disappointed with my food and realized THEY CHARGED MY CARD TWICE!! and the food wasn’t even worth not one bit of my money!
