I've been coming here for a long time now. Well, before it was called Mexican Table. Great friendly management and staff.

This place is amazing as Mexican they are one of the few places where one can say that the food is really authentic the service is really friendly The only detail is the manager of the establishment, a person who can convey a lot of emotions to you, tries to be friendly with customers but with her employees she leaves a lot to be desired, she calls them out in front of customers and instead of helping she does things in a hurry all the time. time is stressed and that generates stress for the clients themselves There is a big difference between being a boss and being a leader. More than anything, this is constructive criticism for this person to work on their emotions and leadership.

The service is excellent. The people are super friendly. The food and drinks delicious!! Love this place!!

A friend brought us to this little gem in Hockessin. What a surprise. Absolutely fantastic original Mexican food. Reasonably priced. Unassuming casual atmosphere. Don't miss!

I have been to this restaurant twice, and I love it. Each time the wait was 5 minutes at the most. I've been very disappointed by local Mexican restaurants because to me, their food just lacked so much. Meats were tough, and the meals tasted like they were made a week ago. Mexican table nailed it both times. Their food is always well prepared, and tastes fresh. When you are in the mood for Authentic Mexican cuisine, try this little gem. I will be back...

Excellent food and service! We came yesterday and enjoyed the delicious guacamole, taco salad, and enchiladas. Everything we ordered was yummy and we finished it all. The service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back.

When we walked in there was nobody at the front counter. We waited 5 minutes or more to be greeted. The hostess asked us how many? We replied 3. She then asked if we had a reservation. We walked in about 7:15 or 7:30 and by that time they were only 1/2 full and it only got more sparse as the evening went on. The waiter brought us chips and salsa after only 5 minutes or so seated. It appeared as though they had changed brands of both. These new chips were thick and a bit tough, not thin and crispy. The salsa was bland, much like pureed tomatoes with no chunks of vegetables and had very little flavor. We each ordered enchiladas, one of us ordered them with green sauce, the other with red sauce and I ordered mole sauce. When our order came there were 2 with red sauce and one mole. When we mentioned it the waiter apologized and broght a bowl of green sauce. The two orders with red sauce were very dry. They looked as though they had been pre made and refrigerated for a lengthy time, thus drying them out. The order with mole was good. The drinks had very little ice floating on top and were only 2/3 full when brought to the table. Refills were not full either. Had this been our first visit to Mexican Table it would be our last!! But since we have been there many, many times my hope is that this review will assist the owners in improving their, greeting, drinks, chips, salsa, service and enchilada quality!!

The food was very good. I got the duck enchiladas and the only complaint about that is it did not need the nuts on top. It added a very unpleasant texture when chewing a soft empanada with a almost rubbery half baked nut.

Very quiet lovely place. The food is so fresh. Great proportions, had to bring home and they latest a couple of days until I could my shrimp cerveicha. Yum yum

Hands down the best meal I have had in the area Mexican restaurants. Ordered the steak with grilled jalapeños. No mercy with the heat and flavor.

Incredible service, food, friendliness, and they really take care of the little details. Example: started out with chips/salsa/queso and a mango martini. The bartender waited until I had a few drinks and then filled it back up. The little things matter.

Very rude! Informed before seating you will have EXACTLY 1 hour and 15 minutes to eat. Upon seating we asked for a different table and was declined.

Great authentic Mexican food. Might have the best margarita in Delaware! But the manager/owner is out of control. I made a reservation for 4 people, and the table that we reserved was occupied because the party before us arrived 30 minutes late. The manager finally got us seated about 15 minutes later, and as soon as we finished our meal we were told to leave because the next reservation was waiting to get seated

1st visit! Food was great. Had the shrimp tacos. Salsa and warm chips were very good as well as the golden margarita... Will be back

A 10 for a restaurant. A waitress named Lidia always served me and my family. We were 4 Spanish people who went to live there, and there we found our safe place, and impressive Mexican cuisine. I will never forget the nachos with pico de gallo, the homemade nachos. They were very good.

I have been a few times and have enjoyed my meal every time.

Hands down, my favorite place for Mexican. And I'm picky. (Grew up in Southern California.) Owned and worked by a dedicated little family. Never disappointed.

Busy place on weekends. Get there early. Pros: food was fantastic and came out extremely hot. Easy parking. Service was excellent. Cons: When we arrived and were seated, the hostess said we have an hour and 15 minute limit to finish our dinner. We eat dinner faster than that but felt extremely rushed. The owner was running around like a chicken with out a head bossing all the employees around. Do to where we were seated, she had to pass our table constantly. It made us feel uncomfortable hearing her barking out orders.

Please reconsider eating at the Mexican Table in Hockessin. I have never been denied service because I ask the hostess/owner to calm down and not be so stressed out. We were 15 minutes early for our reservation and instead of saying please have a seat at the bar we were reprimanded that we were early for our reservation and would have to wait for our reservation time in a very disrespectful manner. The owner/hostess needs some customer service and manner skills and she would not sit us, basically we were kicked out of the restaurant. Instead we went to LaToneca in Lantana Square and was treated with respect. Very kind waitress, food was delicious and much cheaper. No excuse for how we were treated at all. I will tell my friends, neighbors, relatives to avoid this establishment.

Never disappoints You! Amazing Food!

My favorite restaurant for Mexican food. Be sure to make a reservation though as they are often booked solid. They make the best Moley sauce! The staff is always friendly and the food is constantly awesome. Highly recommend.

This place is a blessing. The food is GREAT and I love the atmosphere. Here is a story about how kind the staff is: Someone near us ordered the exact same thing we did with one ingredient switched out. Somehow the two dishes were mixed up. It was a totally easy-to-make mistake. We were entirely fine and completely understood!! We were still enjoying our appetizers To go above and beyond, the chef came out to apologize to us with such a genuine kindness towards us. It wasn't even necessary for him to do that. We love the people that run this place and it's one of our favorite Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood. Great job all around!

Great little Mexican spot. The staff is friendly and the food was good. If you're coming around dinner time, I'd call ahead because the place fills up quickly. Great spot for kids. We had the chicken burrito 🌯, tacos Asada steak, & fish tacos. Churros for dessert were delicious. However, the flan was not great.

Our first Mexican dining since covid. It was a wonderful lunch. Music not loud; staff friendly; food delicious. A friend recommended this restaurant, & I'm glad my husband came to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. We'll be back.

I had ordered dinner through an app, after receiving an initial text message for the order I never received a message that the order was picked up or on the way. I checked the app and only said the order was placed. I contacted the restaurant and they told me the order was ready but did not look like a driver had been assigned. The manager told me the order was on its way. To my surprise it was the restaurant’s manager that delivered it himself. Not only is the food delicious but the fact that the manager and restaurant went above and beyond to deliver it themselves makes for an exceptional experience. This used to be my favorite place. I've noticed that the portion sizes have decreased, and the prices have increased. Like, you can do one or the other as a business, not both, and expect to keep your clientele. I'll be going to the top of the hill from now on.

Cute place. I initially ordered the seafood enchiladas but I didnt like them. Its like a puree inside of the tortilla with small pieces of shrimp. My bestie got the chicken burrito and it was deeeelich! So flavorful. I was like oh no, i want that burrito instead. I spoke with the manager and she happily prepared me a burrito. Yall it is outstanding. Best chicken burrito I have ever had. Highly recommended!

$45 for a Margarita? Really? Pretentious. The food was good, the service good but the drink pricing will keep me away. The food and service weren't that good. Ironically, the food pricing was where you would expect it to be. Reasonable.

We get take out from Mexican Table once every month or two and it never disappoints. And we agree that the quality and selection keep getting better. This time we got the chicken and asparagus enchiladas along with the steak and chicken fajitas. Chips and guacamole on the side. Spectacular flavor and large portions - what more could you ask for. A++++

These guys have the best I don't know what the name is! It's a pablamo pepper stuffed with meat with a fabulous white sauce & pomegranate seeds on top, OMG! They have great drink specials, too! I usually go there for lunch, I think it gets pretty crowded at night.

I went here with a friend of mine who had dined several times previously. Very good fajitas with many options for choice of meat. I went with mix of shrimp and chicken. The tortillas were smaller than I expected and probably could have used a few more considering meal was pretty large dish. Nice selection of drinks to go with the meal.

I've been going to this place since it was called Palacio Maya, and I was a child. My family loves their food, and some of their staff have watched my sister and I grow up. Some of the best Mexican food I've had through all my travels and life changes.

Best Mexican food with good service. Enjoyed the Enchiladas and burritos. This is the first Mexican restaurant where we got very good vegetarian food. Took off a star as their rice was not vegetarian

I stop in once a week or every other week for dinner. Mauricio the bartender is amazing. Always happy/nice and remembers my custom burrito and drink order every time. Other staff and owners are extremely pleasant. Food and drinks are consistently great! Writing this is making me hungry and I'm looking forward to my next visit.

We come for Mauricio, the bartender. He makes the best jalapeno margaritas. Also the Mexican street corn is excellent if it's in season.

We eat here regularly and find it to be at the top of its game each and every time. Most of our visits involve dining with groups of friends (party of 8/12 people) that many times it is a spontaneous thing. That being said, we have never had to wait long to be accommodated. I have tried many entries and have never been disappointed. On one occasion I ordered a salad and would rate among the best I have ever had. Their mole sauce is wonderful and their refried beans are also excellent. Always recommend. My personal favorite in Hockessin. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While waiting for service to pick up a door dash for someone who ordered from YOUR RESTAURANT, I was DENIED permission to use the restroom because I wasn't technically a customer based on "your standards"?! Unbelievable! First and last time I ever set foot in your establishment!

We always sit at the bar. The bartender on Tuesdays is very friendly and helpful. Menu is good and have always had good meals here. The Gazpacho is top notch.

As soon as you come in, you are expected to know you have a 1.5 hour time limit to eat, especially if you didn't make a reservation ahead of time. Owner stares and checks constantly that you and server are keeping with the pace to be out of there quick. We do love their nachos, queso, and quesadillas, but desserts are odd and don't taste very good at all. Prices are expensive, especially if you want queso for more than 2 people. A tiny side bowl of queso for $5. $15 for more queso to go, but I would expect to get at least SOME chips with it. Had to question why I wouldn't get any chips with the queso, since the server and owner said queso dip doesn't come with chips at all. When I looked shocked in disbelief, the owner decided to give us a 1 small bag of chips with the huge $15 queso. Spent $90 for our dinner, but felt rushed and not welcome at all. Owners and server were stand offish and not nice. Makes the environment super uncomfortable when they stare at you and rush you for the 1.5 time limit. We spent less than an hour there, never felt welcome, and were quick to want to leave. Check was given immediately and no dessert offered. On the way out of restaurant, we could hear the female owner talking loudly on phone about making a reservation for 15 minutes from then. Why is that fine, but we can't dine in and spend $100 if we are there willing to be customers? Love some of their food, but won't be back again unfortunately.

Service was great, the staff has changed over to nearly all male, but the service was attentive and the waiters were pleasant. The food was no longer special, and there was little that was distinctive in this place. We will be looking for a new place to eat. Such a change in three years, a real shame.

Place was pretty nice, good atmosphere and pretty nice staff. I was very happy that they had Molè as well. (almost nowhere else does it seems like!) However, the prices have raised from the review pictures online, (on the website there aren’t even prices listed!) and the food was mid but definitely better options for less around the area…

My lady and I did not have reservations on a busy Saturday evening but they still managed to seat us rather quickly! Food was excellent, service was great! Our server was on top of his game! Too bad i forgot his name:/ my lady ordered the Enchiladas Poblanas which were delicious! Plated beautifully! I couldn't stop taking bites off her plate! She paired it with a blood orange rita! Nice and strong which is a plus, seems like everywhere else we get margaritas, they lack a punch. Not here! I had the Chicken and Chorizo pasta paired with a Chihuahua Bite. Great combo!!!! Super tasty!

I’ve been a few times and was happy with everything each time. Great service, good chips and salsa as well as entrees. Had the Chile En Nogado and Shrimp Chimichangas and both were delicious.
